After testing the Taycan Cross Turismo 4S and the GTS a couple of years ago, I was keen to see what the top of the range Taycan Turbo S would be like. And since Porsche have recently introduced their facelifted Taycan Turbo S with even more power (952ps on overboost), what better time to take a look.
Is 939bhp too much for a mere mortal like me? Can the Turbo S be as easy to use every day as the 4S and GTS with all that power? Lets find out...
Many thanks to Porsche GB for the loan of the Taycan Turbo S for this video.

The 2024/2025 Porsche Taycan Turbo S is a refined high-performance EV focusing on \"higher, faster, further.\" It delivers massive leaps in range (up to 386 miles), charging speeds, and acceleration. Combining hypercar-level power with the Active Ride suspension system, it balances extreme track-capable performance with the practicality of an everyday luxury saloon.
Hello and welcome to a new car review video on the channel and welcome to the Porsche
Taycan Turbo S and this is the new version of the Taycan Turbo S. It's the facelifted version
for 2024 or the 2025 model if you're American. I'm here at the Porsche HQ in Reading to pick
this car up. I've got it for a few days to review. It's looking pretty impressive so far,
it's got that lovely new Porsche smell that only Porsches have. The red interior is a bit
striking. Yeah it's pretty well specced obviously because it's kind of top of the range model apart
from obviously the Taycan GT but that sort of moves into the GT models and there's no back seats
in that and it's a bit extreme. So of a kind of everyday usable extreme car this is the pinnacle
for Taycan. This car's got blacked out Porsche crests on the steering wheel and on the bonnet
as well. I haven't seen that before it's pretty cool and I think I've picked a bad day to wear a
jumper because all of a sudden it's got holes. So let's get back on the road up to Leicester and
take it on some of my favorite driving roads and see what it's like. So you join me a day or so
later in and around my favorite roads in Brengate Park. I do love it around here it's really
beautiful but also driving all of the cars that I do for reviews back to back on the same roads
really gives me a nice level playing field for how they compare against each other. If you're
new to the channel and you haven't seen any of my other reviews hopefully you've not already
clicked away because you don't like my face but you'll be able to find lots of other Porsche
reviews, some McLaren reviews and some classic stuff as well so I hope you find something that
you like and you want to stay. So as I said back at Porsche HQ welcome to the new Porsche Taycan
Turbo S. Is it a brand new car? No it's kind of a facelift, a mid-life facelift but that's probably
doing it a little bit of a disservice because there's quite a lot that's changed in a number
of different aspects as we'll get into. Porsche launched the new Taycan with the kind of word
cloud of higher, faster, further. Higher stands for higher in terms of charging capacity across
the range. Faster is obviously faster with 0 to 100 kilometres up by I think 0.6 seconds across
the range and further because the range has actually increased across the models by 35%
which is pretty significant. There's also better efficiency as well which is always welcome in
electric cars and they're more powerful because there's a new rear motor design. As well as the
batteries, a highlight across the range is the ability to spec Active Ride. The old car's ride
was really good but Active Ride makes it even better and we'll talk more about that in a minute.
Now most of the people that I've read or seen on YouTube, motoring journalists, seem to think that
the with the old model the pick of the range was the 4S and I really liked that when I reviewed it.
Because it was a great combination of power and also range because it had one of the biggest
batteries. Whereas with the old Turbo S they seem to kind of complain that it sacrificed too much of
its range for its performance but with this new model that's not the case anymore. As I mentioned
the whole range has more range and this Turbo S has a range of about 386 miles which is a big
increase because the old model could only do 258 miles. So you've got the performance and range
really is no longer an issue and apparently there's only 30 miles difference in the range from
the best performing ranged Taycan to the least well-performing range Taycan. So let's talk about
the design and the design of the exterior to start with. I initially wasn't very happy with the new
headlight design because I did like the fact that the shape of the headlights was quite sort of
multi-faceted and not just a sealed in unit but now if anything these have still have all of those
elements inside but it's got a very flush lens to it which kind of makes it look a lot like most
other cars really. So yeah I think I kind of preferred the the old shape because they looked
more modular. A good thing though is that the Turbo S does retain an element of the vertical
slash that it had in the front on most of the older models whereas the two-wheel drive base
model has lost that slash which kind of just makes it look a bit like a new Tesla Model 3 at the
front so it's not quite as noticeable a signature face but we could debate on that all day.
This car hasn't got it but there's also a new light signature across the back in red where it
is pretty cool and I do like this new I can't really explain how to explain it but the sort
of paddle shape that comes in underneath the headlight I quite like that it almost looks like
it could be a race car aero type blade that could be in carbon fibre so I had too many words to
explain that but I think that's quite a nice little feature on the front there nice detail.
Just a few tweaks really but noticeable but it hasn't damaged these kind of very futuristic
stormtrooper like look of this car. So let's talk about the interior design so the interior feels
kind of the least changed or the most untouched if you like but that's not necessarily a bad thing
because I think the interior always was a really nice mix of more of a progressive kind of signature
and design but also some lots of key elements that ties it back in and connects it to the other
models in the range not like the 911. So things like the chrono, the steering wheel, the door
handles lots of nice little bits that really connect it to the signature parts that you've
seen in a 911 but also a few new architectural simple signatures that really kind of point to
this is a slightly different product and slightly more futuristic and progressive.
These leather seats are really nice we've got 18-way adjustment so it's really easy to find the
great driving position obviously Porsches are known for having a brilliant driving position but
there's a lot of adaptability in the seat so you can get it just exactly how you want it.
They're heated as well as are the back seats which is great I've not really had
many cars that have had heated back seats but that's a really nice option. The only thing is
for me they do feel a bit hot in terms of the actual seats not when I've got the heating one
obviously but when I haven't I think I'm probably I prefer maybe fabric seats or Alcantara or Racetech
I think that's probably more my kind of thing because I do find leather a bit hot but that's
not necessarily the car's fault. Taycan now also gets the optional passenger display so that the
passenger can use the PCM and the music functions and all of that as well. I don't think we've
actually got that in this particular press car but it is an option now. Now we're still talking
about the interior but this isn't strictly an aspect of the interior but the active suspension
or the active ride now gives you the opportunity to actually have the suspension lift the car when
you go to get in so when you unlock it the whole car rises up and it just makes it that little bit
easier to get in so it's kind of the new Taycan's party piece but it is actually really useful. I've
found it quite a nice part of the experience of getting in the car it's a little bit of theatre
but also it makes it really easy to get yourself comfortably into the seat. This car is fitted with
the heated steering wheel. I always find the button is a little bit unusual it's something
that you could easily miss and also the the interior quality and the fit and feel of everything
is really solid apart from the heated steering wheel button which actually moves around a bit
when you touch it and feels a bit cheap. It's a shame that because it's quite a you know you've
paid extra to have the heated steering wheel and then that contact point doesn't actually feel very
very nice. So if we talk about the overall driving experience then so in a lot of ways then the
overall drive of the Taycan feels very similar to the old one but that's not necessarily a bad
thing because if you've seen my previous reviews of of Taycans I was always really impressed how
this is just a completely different platform and a completely different approach to creating a
powered vehicle and it's amazing how they've taken all this new technology and made it drive like a
Porsche and it feels like a Porsche when you just forget about the fact that it's an electric car
you can very easily imagine that you're in a Panamera or a 911 especially when you start
pressing on all of that Porsche DNA comes out so that's really impressive. One of the best thing
about Porsches is the steering I think Jerry Seinfeld said on Spikes Car Radio recently
that the best Porsche do the best steering in the world and it's great to see how with the
Taycan they've taken that from the combustion engine cars and they've not diluted it at all
on the steering that we've got in the Taycan as well it's linear it's progressive it's crisp
when you when you're turning even when you're just off center just the the actual steering
feel that you have and you know what the wheels are doing is really impressive. The steering wheel
feels really nice and purposeful Porsche do great steering wheels as well it's quite chunky some
people don't like that but I do I love the fact that all of the controls and the buttons are
inboard so they don't really interfere with the driving pleasure and of course we've got the drive
mode button on here which is again that lovely kind of emotional connection to other Porsches
but of course has its functions which we'll get onto in a minute. It's got a lovely diameter to
it as well especially the width of the dashboard is quite wide but the steering wheel actually feels
quite small so the actual sort of lock to lock turn is minimized or reduced slightly so it makes
the steering feel really direct. The new car from a braking point of view this has got carbon
ceramics which are incredible there's more regenerative braking than there was in the
previous model it's not intrusive but I did find on the motorway that it felt there was more braking
than I expected possibly I'm sure you can adjust it and Porsche have still not gone to one pedal
driving which is good I think they've decided you know it's not fitting with the brand and I
completely agree with that. The car does feel big when you're maneuvering it in car parks and that's
why I always say go on the PCM for the cameras and the bird's eye view because it's a great
option and I think it takes away that worry of maneuvering the car but yeah it feels quite big
it's quite a big car but just as a Porsche should when you press on it really does shrink around you
I know that's a little bit of a cliche I'm bringing out all the cliches probably in this video
but once you press on the steering weights up the car shrinks around you and the faster you go the
more you feel like you can thread it down narrow B roads. We've got four driving modes that we can
access on the drive mode button on the steering wheel we've got normal we've got sport and we've
got sport plus and they really do affect the characteristics and the character of the car
just like they do in the combustion engine car. If you haven't got the electric car noise activated
you go into sport or sport plus that automatically comes on to give you a little bit more theatre
and as well as going back to normal you've also got range as well which just gives you those
few extra miles and that slight peace of mind if you're getting really low on the battery
you can switch to range and it just gives you that little bit more but yeah how they've managed to
engineer in the sport and sport plus feel into those drive modes with how the motor responds
and also how the suspension firms up again is really impressive you do feel hunkered down
and the character of the car just changes that little bit into something that's a much more
visceral kind of driving experience and then you can knock it back into normal and drive into town.
So let's talk about the ride quality then well it's an electro hydraulic system that uses a high
pressure pump and that sends force to each corner or each wheel if you like and then that counters
roll and also pitch and dive. It's not particularly a brand new system and I seem to remember maybe in
the late 90s Volvo were looking at systems like this it tries to keep the car level at all times
under acceleration or even when it's pitching into a corner so it's a system that other people have
tried but here in the Taycan of course Porsche have really nailed it. So it's quite expensive
it's about £6,100 or so to include it on your Taycan but it really does smooth out and filter
out the road's imperfections but at the same time it doesn't make you feel detached or disconnected
from the feel of the road. The Taycan's really brilliant at carrying what seems like effortless
speed with all the torque that you've got from the motors down any kind of road. You can switch
it off but when you've got the active rides tilt and lean functions activated it feels really
subtle and natural and you don't really notice it but you can just notice it by the fact that you're
more confident as you come into a bend twist or a corner. What's also impressive is this huge
performance that this car has it doesn't bring a degree of harshness with it everything is really
buttery smooth and progressive you would think with all this sort of like explosive power that
this car's got that it would be very difficult to tame that. We've seen on some other cars particularly
on the Lotus Electra when it's in under launch control that the electronics and the programming
are really struggling to keep the thing in a straight line but there's no problems like that
with the Taycan. The software has obviously been really well considered and it always feels smooth
and always feels completely under control. So let's talk about handling so the Taycan is still
the best handling EV that you can buy and I think the active ride has helped the Taycan
stay one step ahead of the competition. You've also got really great race derived suspension
geometry so you've got aluminium double wishbones on the front axle and aluminium multi-link rear
suspension. I was quite surprised most people always go on about how heavy or what they see as
a negative how heavy electric cars are but the Taycan Turbo S weighs 2,295 kilograms and the
Panamera Turbo SE Hybrid is 2,440 kilograms so this electric turbo is lighter than the Panamera Turbo
which is an ice engine and a hybrid. Sounds like good ammo down the pub.
So we're quite far into the video now and we haven't really talked about the performance.
Now the Taycan Turbo S had crazy performance in the original model but this actually has 150
horsepower more and the performance is just absolutely otherworldly in terms of acceleration.
When I reviewed the 4S and I reviewed also the GTS I thought they were really fast
but probably looking at it now fast in terms of what I expected but this is just otherworldly fast
it's intergalactic fast it's like a spaceship a jet fighter any other cliche that you can think
about I really wasn't expecting how fast this can actually accelerate it's quite frightening
it's quite scary and I don't deploy it very much because I just don't think I'm talented enough.
Even on 75% throttle I feel that's more than enough I just wouldn't dare absolutely flooring
the throttle. Now we've also got launch control as well which adds another 177 horsepower which
takes it to 952 which is just insane that's giving me a headache.
Now I'm not even going to do launch control in this video I'm going to get comments like
I'm driving Miss Daisy or something like that but if you want to see launch control
go and watch Car Wow okay that's not I'm not gonna I'm not gonna do it and end up in a ditch.
Another great stat is that the 0 to 124 miles an hour time is rivaling around the same time as a
Bugatti Veyron so that just shows how far we've come you know a Bugatti Veyron is what one one
and a half million pounds when they came out and now you can get this car which is you know there's
no waiting list it's very easy to to walk into a Porsche dealership and get one and now this
everyday usable car can have that kind of performance. It's made me had to rethink what
fast is or what fast can be because I've never experienced anything like this. It's also in the
middle of the drive mode you've got a push to pass button that's really cool but the car is already
a rocket ship. I've managed to overtake people so easily that I can't imagine why I need the
push to pass so am I trying to overtake a McMurray? The performance without push to pass is more than
good enough it allows you to get away from situations or pull into spaces as you're driving
on the motorway that you probably wouldn't be able to get into in other vehicles. It makes everybody
else seem as though they're driving a horse a horse and cart and you're driving something from
way in the future. I can't possibly imagine what the Turbo GT is like because if that I mean there's
no seats in the back so you lose a lot on practicality but I just can't imagine how that
could be any faster than this. The Porsche ceramic composite brakes unbelievable stopping power and
something else that you might not think about when you're thinking of carbon brakes is that
because these wheels have got white rims on them they're painted to match the bodywork they stay
cleaner for a lot longer and you don't get all of that horrible brake dust. A hidden benefit of those
crazy stoppers is also that it's easier to keep your wheels clean. From a range point of view
there might be a slight hit on the range compared with the other models because of all this
blistering performance but it depends how you use it and the fact that now we've got around 385 mile
range on this Taycan Turbo S is really impressive. You can imagine using that for really long journeys
and also using it for the whole week without having to charge it. So let's get into some more
raw figures then for those of you that like the stats. The maximum power of this Taycan Turbo S is
775 horsepower but when you activate launch control, not that I'm going to, it's 952 horsepower
and maximum torque with launch control activated is 1110 newton meters. I can't believe I'm saying
these figures. The battery capacity is 105 kilowatt hour with a usable amount of 97 kilowatt hours
and the minimum charge time between 10 and 80 percent is 18 minutes which is really fast.
Of course you've got four-wheel drive but you've got a two-speed new rear motor and a one-speed
front motor and I think I've got a little bit of b-roll here. When I set out from Porsche
Reading my journey home was 117 miles and the range said it was 329 mile range and when I got
home I think it was only about six miles out from what I had left so I think even more than the old
model. I always found the range indicator on the old model to be pretty good but I think some people
criticized it but I can say that it's really good. It gave me a real confidence in the range reading
that I think well if I'm using it I can believe in the range that I've got with the driving style
that I have. Top speed is quoted as 162 miles per hour and the zero to 62 time is 2.4 seconds
and apparently it uses 3.5 kilowatts per mile. You've got 265 section tyres on the front and 305
section tyres on the rear. I thought this car would be on Pirellis but it's actually on Goodyear
Eagle F1s. I've not seen Porsches use Goodyear tyres before but they perform really well. The
weather's been atrocious so a lot very greasy and very wet and they've not come unstuck hardly at
all probably with one a little bit of a launch that I did but other than that they yeah I'm
pretty impressed. Also all this performance comes with some really good practicality. The front
luggage compartment is 84 litres which again Porsches are known for that you can get quite a
bit of stuff in the front and obviously there's no engine there so that makes a difference
and in the back we've got 366 litres in this saloon. I've not driven the saloon or sedan as
Americans call it before but yeah I do like the look of this it looks almost like a very long
coupe. Service intervals are two years or 20,000 miles and the battery warranty is eight years or
100,000 kilometres. Okay I might have to be a little bit quick with this video because it just
hasn't stopped raining all day today and we've even had thunder and lightning but let's take a
look at their spec sheet for this particular press car. So the Taycan Turbo S has a recommended
retail price of £161,400 and this particular press car has got 21-inch Mission-E design wheels
and if you know anything about the Taycan you'll remember that when it was launched it was called
or when it was a concept it was called the Mission-E and it was launched with with these
wheels they're quite striking I'm not sure whether I could live with them every day although I do
think they're cool they kind of remind me of Matt Armstrong's McLaren 720S's wheels that he's got
on there at the moment. They're £426 and they're 21-inch and they're with this particular car
they've got the the wheels are painted in the exterior colour which is £926. We've got four plus
one seats which is a £371 option. We've got two-tone leather interior smooth finish black
and Bordeaux. It is really nice the smooth finish leather it does add an extra level of sort of
luxury and quality. The red's quite nice as well Bordeaux obviously it's not burgundy and it's not
sort of too bright. My wife really likes it but I'm not sure whether I could live with it but it's
a £371 option. The exterior mirror upper trims in carbon I really do like that that looks very smart
We've got side window trims black I'll just raise it up in a second
high gloss £269. I do like that most of the press cars come in that unless you're having
kind of a heritage edition and you want it to look a little bit more retro I'd kind of recommend
going for those black trims at £269. Model designation painted in black high gloss on the
Turbo S £185. I like that as well. Active ride control so that's been mentioned quite a lot in
the launch of this kind of version 2 or facelifted Taycan. It means the car stays level in the
corners and it sort of leans into the corners if you like. Helps with the ride and the composure
of the car you really can feel it I do like that. It also helps it raise up makes it easier to get
in which is useful for somebody when you get to my age £6,291 for that and that's kind of
available across the range as well. Windscreen with grey top tint £89. Surround view with active
parking support so we've got the bird's eye view in the PCM and also it's great you can see the
parking lines and it makes it easier to to line up with parking spaces with that bird's eye view
and the rear camera £1,088 I'd always recommend that. Soft closed doors £546. I don't know whether
I'd go with that I might save myself £546 and a little bit of weight and so that gives a total
price for this particular press car of £173,120 as about £12,000 worth of options. So anyway
that's the spec list which is getting a bit soggy so let's get back on the road before I get too wet.
If we talk about the PCM then and the interfaces if you've watched any of my videos you'll know
that I always wax lyrical about how great the PCM interface is. I think it's probably one of or the
best digital interface in any car that you can buy and every time I get in a new model it just
gets that little bit slicker and that little bit smoother. The screen is lovely and really bright
and intuitive and there's no lag. Switching between Porsche's system and Apple CarPlay is
really easy. The Taycan has always been a step ahead some of the ICE cars the 911s or the Caymans
that I've had haven't had the wireless charging or you've had to plug a cable in. You can still
plug a cable in if you want to you've got USB-C but you've got wireless charging in the centre
console here you've got USB-C in the back as well and it just connect it seems to connect even
better and also we've had my family in with multiple different phones connected and it's very
easy to switch between the different phones. So yeah I'm really impressed with it it's just getting
slicker and it's really intuitive and also the haptic controls on the main console are really
nice and the different modes that you can scroll the console through all the way down to one that's
really minimal so that it doesn't it isn't intrusive or we can go full sat-nav on their
driver console as well. So the centre screen I always think they're going to upgrade that and
have more controls on it and they have put some more on I think because we've got nav, music,
CarPlay and car functions that we can directly link to on the top level menu there. So it's
quite simple there's not a lot on there but it's very intuitive and easy to use. I know a lot of
people are sort of complaining about the lack of physical buttons in some cars. Porsche did go mad
on physical buttons in the first Panamera but I think there's a good level here we've got lots of
physical controls around the steering wheel but then all the digital interfaces are haptic
but very intuitive and very easy to use and very responsive. My children really like the
mood lighting as well how it reflects the colour of the album cover that you're listening to that
went down very well with the kids. I think an improvement over the the Cross Turismo, the first
Taycan Cross Turismo that I had as well, I had lots of problems with the charging network or
finding a charger through the navigation system. Now all you kind of have to do is use the app,
the app is really useful and really intuitive or you can just search for Porsche charging systems
and it actually brings them up and also shows you the kilowatt hour speed that they are.
So as long as you type in Porsche charging systems it takes you directly to the network of
chargers that are closest to you. The press department for this car supplied me with the
charging card so that was that was nice of them thanks for that but that worked really well with
all of the systems the BP system that I came across and also the Shell network systems and
before I had a great experience when I used the charger at the Porsche dealer or Porsche
centres they're beautiful charges and it's a really nice experience to even if you could just
hop between Porsche centres but that's not always the possibility but that Porsche card which I
think you can automatically be signed up to when you buy a Taycan is a great system. Maybe I've
got too much of a love for it because I'm not paying for it but I think it it is nice to use
one card for all of those different systems. Okay so things that I really like about the
Taycan Turbo S well the acceleration is in my likes column but also in my kind of you could
almost put it in the dislikes as well it's it's amazing but it is too fast I think for for me
anyway I think if you if you want that kind of acceleration then fine or you want the kind of
the top model or if you live in Germany where you can use that kind of speed on the autobahn but for
me I think I don't really think that I would use it that much so maybe a 4S or I think the GTS would
be my particular sweet spot but there's always going to be lots of people that want the fastest
and the top of the range and as I said before you don't sacrifice anything else for having that
brutal performance. I really like as I mentioned that the range indicator is really accurate I
think it's even more accurate than it was before so that eliminates a certain amount of my range
anxiety. Now something that I said in the Cayenne review that I did there's a link up here as well
I mentioned about some of the bongs and chimes that you get for lane assist and also for speed
limits now I think I said I didn't like them in the Cayenne but it's not Porsche's fault at all
they're mandatory now in the EU and in the UK but one of the things I didn't notice at the time but
I've been told by the press department is that Porsche is one of the vehicles or one of the
brands where it's the easiest to switch all that off as soon as you get in the car they're not
allowed to be automatically switched off but the press department are completely right that it is
really easy to switch them off in a Porsche. You've got a programmable button on the haptic
driver's console over here that you can tap that and that immediately switches off speed warnings
and then on the stalk for the cruise control there's a button on the bottom where you can
switch off with one long press the lane assist so it's very easy every time you get in just to
knock those off if you don't want them with one press of each of those buttons so I do like that.
I do like the fact that in this model they've kept the on off button maybe it's a generational
thing that I actually like it to have an on and off button but I find that just nice that I know
that I've switched it off and it's in park and I can get out and I haven't left it on so
please keep that there. One of the things I slightly dislike about it though is you have
to press it and hold it maybe it feels like for just a little bit too long would just be nice to
press it and that's it but that's just me. Okay so things that I don't like then well there aren't
actually that many things that I don't like about this car. One of the things that's still a little
bit of a problem for that I've found and it's mainly because I'm not used to it and I'm not
an EV driver on a regular basis is the charging network still felt at first a little bit of a
mystery to me. I think most people if you've got this kind of car you're going to have a charger
at home so there's no real problem with the charging network every time you get in you'd
have 385 miles of range and you would never probably visit a charger you probably never
visit a charger even if you're doing one of your long journeys so the charging network isn't going
to be that much of a problem but just using the ones around me they were quite slow. Shell have
put in some new chargers very close to me but I went to them as you can see here and the screens
were all off and none of it worked it wouldn't connect to the car nothing worked at all which
was a bit of a shame. I did recognize the card thanks Porsche but none of it would work so that
was a real bust. The next one that I went to as well when you're driving a £175,000 car it was
took around the back of a harvester it smelt of cat wee down there and there was an old Vauxhall
that looked like it hadn't moved for quite a while so yeah that wasn't really the kind of
experience that I was hoping for with this kind of car but then close to my home there was a big
Shell service station that sort of nine eight or nine miles from my home and once I found that
things started to look up it recognized the well it looked up a little bit the first two charges
didn't recognize the car at all and it wouldn't connect but the third one did and it was a really
fast charger and it and I was quite surprised at how quickly it charged the car how quickly
I could put loads of range onto it. One of the things that was annoying though was that the
charge ports this has got two charge ports it's got a kind of a more regular speed charge port
on the driver's side and the fast charger on the passenger side and the way that Shell have laid
out the charges means that it's on the wrong side so I kind of had to park halfway across another
bay so that was a bit of a worry because obviously if you're on this big sort of flashy Porsche
and then you're parked across another bay people are going to think you're the wrong kind of Porsche
owner but it just seemed unusual that it was on that side maybe it's a thing that is set up
for Germany or other markets but or Shell have just got it wrong and not had that type of charger
on the right side for this car but as I say once I got used to it and once I'd found a charger
that worked it charges really quickly with the with the high speed charges and the experience
was was okay so there could be those times when you don't go to the familiar places and it just
doesn't work for you and like I say at the Shell two of the charges would just not recognize the
car but the third one did. So there's some negative comments about the charging network but of course
none of that really is Porsche's fault and things are slightly better than they were last time
although my initial experience being a non-EV person wasn't great but it did get better and I
would settle into it and if I had a charger at home there'd be no problem at all. Another thing I don't
like possibly it's me but sometimes with the sort of active suspension it feels as though especially
when I go over white lines or cat eyes it sees it seems as though it's doing something at the back
end that I've not quite authorized like it it's trying to do something clever to stabilize the
car and it feels slightly counter-intuitive and slightly unnerving that might just be me or it
might just be the road surfaces that I've found but yes something a little squirmy has been going
on a few times that I just found a little bit unusual. Last thing that I don't like I don't
really like the soft close on a kind of a sporty car I always think that just seems like a little
bit too much weight and with this soft close I found myself closing the door and then there'd be
a gap and I kind of had to wait too long for it then to go into soft close and close and by then
I got impatient and I'd kind of open open the door and try it again maybe that says more about me
than it does the car but yeah soft close I don't think I would would bother with that or option
that. So to sum up then possibly maybe the 4S is still the sweet spot of the range but not by as
much as it used to be this whole kind of performance versus battery the margins have narrowed considerably
so there's not really to choose it on what people used to criticize the the Turbo S over the 4S
with the range it's not really so much of a problem now. I think though just for me the
GTS is still my model of choice I think because it offers the performance and the kind of looks
that I want at the price point that I'd probably be more prepared to pay for for me and I don't need
the the level of performance that this car can offer but that's just me because it is pretty
damn exciting but if you want more kit into the price and you want futuristic otherworldly
performance then definitely the Turbo S is the Taycan for you. So that's about it for this video
