Video Summary
AI GeneratedThe creator attempts to recreate the most difficult snooker shots of the season as voted by viewers. By replicating high-difficulty maneuvers from professional players across various tournaments, the video analyzes the technical precision, cue power, and physics required to execute world-class shots to determine the ultimate \"shot of the season.\"
These are the best shots from every single tournament this season,
as chosen by the viewers of this channel.
And despite these shots being unbelievably difficult to play,
I'm still going to find the shot of the season
by attempting to recreate all of the shots as accurately as possible,
before playing them in the fewest possible attempts.
So let's travel all the way back to the beginning of the season
and the Championship League,
where the best shot was this one from Long Zhuang.
After getting out of position,
he finds the only way to get on the red
is to screw the cue ball around the table
and get all the way back down for the top cushion.
He gets an awful lot of arc in the cue ball while doing this,
and it's a really impressive looking shot.
I'm going to struggle here both to get the spin right,
pot the black,
and indeed hit it hard enough.
In fact, when I first attempted this shot in a video,
which would have been nearly a year ago now,
I don't think I was able to get anywhere near the red,
or at least not good enough on the red in order to pot it.
So I want to do better with this one,
and here it's looking close.
I've got near the top cushion,
I just needed a couple rolls more on the cue ball,
and I would have made it.
So I just need to find some power from somewhere,
and as we've already seen,
it's not very much power.
If I get the shot right,
I'm really not too far away with this one.
It just needs a little bit more.
However, I've just started getting a little bit into the cue ball too much,
and that's made it a bit harder.
I've hit this one with more pace,
but too much backspin,
so I'm going to have to try again.
This looks better,
I might have got it this time.
The cue ball's coming down on the right line,
but does it have the speed?
No, I've landed right on top of the red,
so I'm going to have to try again.
Now this looks really good,
and I've got a little bit more spin on the cue ball.
That's increased the speed and the angle,
and this looks absolutely perfect.
A fraction short of pace,
but if I can pot it,
then it's definitely good enough,
and I have.
What a great way to start the video.
A tough start there,
but in this video, of course,
everything is going to be difficult
as we move on to the Shanghai Masters now,
and Kyron Wilson,
who's playing a very straightforward shot
in the fact that he's just powering a red down the cushion,
and there's not too much more to it than that,
but that in itself is incredibly tough,
especially at that angle down the cushion.
It might take me a while to get this one,
so with this and every other shot in this video,
I reserve the right to speed things up.
Consider all the shots potential danger shots.
Although with this one,
I should be okay
because the shot doesn't take too long,
and I probably should have got it already.
It's just a little bit of an awkward angle,
and I'm struggling to judge it properly.
However, it's finally gone in,
and the only negative is I just missed the cannon on the black.
On to the Saudi Arabia Snooker Masters now,
and a particularly clever shot from Mark Williams,
who can't see the red over the corner pocket
as it's blocked by the black,
so decides to play a cannon onto it,
but it's cleverer than that
because he doesn't just hit the red over the corner pocket
because a direct hit would leave the white in the jaws
and leave him a tough next shot.
Instead, he plays the cube onto the top cushion
and then the red,
allowing him to get it out in the middle of the table
in perfect position as it turns out on the pink.
On to the Wuhan Open,
and how about this for a double from Mark Selby?
The red itself only just goes past the green
into the corner pocket,
and even if you took the green away,
it would still be a really tough shot
to get anywhere near this.
However, Mark manages to drill this
into the middle of the pocket
before going on to clear up,
and I think as I'm about to discover,
this is a lot tougher than Mark makes it look.
And for a minute,
I'm quite simply struggling to find the correct angle.
I'm finding the green ever so slightly in the way
every now and again,
and I keep rubbing the edge of it,
although if I hit this right,
it should go into the pocket
without the green being in the way altogether.
However, I keep getting close
or miss hitting it to the other side of the pocket,
so hopefully in a minute,
I'm going to work all of this out
and just knock it in.
I know roughly where the cue ball needs to go,
so if I can get that in the correct place,
which is roughly there,
it should go in.
Should have tried that earlier.
Moving on to the English Open
and this long red from Elliot Selesa,
who's essentially potting his way out of trouble,
but not only that,
he's also screwing the cue ball back
all the way down the table into bulk.
This is going to be one of those shots
that I'm not sure whether or not
I'm going to be able to get on my table
because I'm not sure my table is reactive enough,
but I'm going to give it a go
and see just how far back down the table
I'm able to get the white
at the same time as potting the red.
I've actually got the red a little bit quicker
than I expected
and I've cued it really well,
but unfortunately,
that's about all I can do on my table.
Out of the British Open,
we've got another shot
that requires a lot of cue power,
this time from Joe O'Connor,
who needs to get the cue ball
back down the table onto the black
if he wants to go on to win the frame
and doing so is going to be tough
because the red itself is in bulk.
He manages to get far enough back down the table
in order to pot the black
and would go on to win this frame from here.
So let's see if I can do the same
and get anywhere near this one.
The pot's in and I've cued it fairly well,
although it's not quite enough
to get back down the table
in position on the black
and I know I can definitely cue it
a lot better than this this time.
So I'm going to give it a few more tries
and see if I can pot it
and just get through the ball
a little bit better.
That's technically worse.
I haven't gone back as far
and I just about potted the red.
This is a little bit better
and it's coming all the way back down the table.
I definitely can't cue this one any better
and I'm just about on the black,
just not perfect,
but it's all I can do.
The shot chosen from the Zion Grand Prix
is another well judged shot from Mark Williams
as he's noticed these two reds together
on the top cushion
could be made into a sort of plant
if he hits off the right hand side of them.
He manages to get this perfect
at the same time
as getting the cue ball back down the table.
This is going to be a tough one to judge
and essentially set up,
but I think if I set up the balls
in exactly the right position
I should be able to make this
with no trouble whatsoever.
I've got it,
although I've just caught the first red
a little bit too thick,
but the pot went in easy
and that was the main part of the shot there.
Over in Belfast now
for the Northern Ireland Open
as Jack Lasowski is doing this.
Yeah, so I think what he was actually
trying to do there
is top spin the cue ball
off the top cushion
and go into the top of the pack of reds
so he'd be in position on the black.
However, he just scrapes by them
for the pink.
That's going to make things
a little bit harder for me
to get the cue ball
roughly in the same position
and have a shot at the pink
and in fact the shot itself
is going to be tough enough
to manage to top spin it
off the side cushion
through that narrow gap
and then onto the top cushion
and back out in roughly the right position.
I'm not sure how close
I'm going to be able to get with this one
so let's give it a go
and see what the major problems are.
The difficulty here
was getting the speed right
to get the rub off the pack
and get in position for the pink.
I think I've got it here
but can I see enough of the pink?
Yep, just about
so this one definitely worked out okay.
At the international championships
before he became world champion
Wu Yizhe was doing this
potting this long red
with an angle to screw the cue ball
off the pink
and pack of reds down the table
which is an incredibly tough
but also incredibly brave shot
to be taking on.
I want to get this one
as quickly as possible
because I really don't want to scatter
the balls too far too often
and have to keep putting
so many of the balls back
over and over again
so hopefully this one
doesn't take me too long to get right.
Three attempts is pretty good
didn't quite get the reaction
off the pink that I wanted
but I'm in really good position there
so I'm taking it.
The champion of champions is next
and Neil Robertson here
is really showing off his cue power.
Look at how much he makes the cue ball arc
on the way to the pack of reds here
it goes so far out
and then comes back in again
but he judges the angle perfectly
to rip the pack open
and finish in position on a red
from such a tough angle.
In order to get this one right
not only am I going to have to
cue this incredibly well
but I'm going to have to
and I don't know how accurately
I'm going to be able to do that
but let's see what happens.
I actually thought I'd done it
on my third attempt
when I struck the right side
of the pack of reds
exactly where I needed to
however I couldn't push a red on
I just needed to get into the cue ball
a little bit more
which I'm starting to do now
I'm just struggling with the angle.
I've hit the reds there
but it definitely wasn't
in the right place
and it's so difficult
when I'm having to give each shot
to hit the right part of the pack
I could have taken that one
because I could have potted the red
underneath the pack
but again I want to hit
roughly the same part of the pack as Neil
that's proving a problem at the moment
and I just can't seem to get the white
in the right place
as I'm really struggling
both to judge the line
and this huge arc
this looks a bit better though
I've roughly struck the right part of the reds
and I'm definitely going to take that one.
On to the so-called snooker championships now
and you may remember
there was a Judd Trump shot
from that tournament
that I simply couldn't play at the time
I'm not 100% sure why this was
maybe I was having trouble with my tip
or I wasn't quite cueing the ball well enough
either way I simply couldn't get
enough reaction out of my cue
in order to get down the table
off this yellow
and play the cue ball
with enough left hand side
to spin it off the top cushion
towards the black
and get the cannon
I could get close
I just couldn't get the side
so let's see if I can finally work this out
and play this shot
one that I've never been able to play before
so as we've seen
I definitely can hit the red
and get the cannon
and leaving it in position
but what about hitting the top cushion first
once again this is extremely difficult
to find the correct angle
especially when the cue ball's arcing this much
I'm also finding
because I have to put quite a bit of left hand side
on the cue ball
that's affecting the shot as well
both how the cue ball moves across the table
and the contact with the yellow
essentially straightening the shot up
so it's really challenging
to actually hit this one thin enough
and find the correct angle
this looks good
just not quite enough side
and it was too far away really
but have I got it better here?
oh just hit them together
I know I can do better than that
so let's give it another go
until I actually get it properly
because I definitely think
if I get the line right
I can get behind the red
and hit the black on its own
although maybe I should have stopped sooner
but let's see what happens with this one
that looks almost perfect
if I get enough side
yes I have a huge amount of side on the ball there
and it's left me perfect on the red
our next shot is from the UK championships
in fact qualifying for the UK championships
as Liam Pullen has found himself
out of position on the last red
on a maximum break
and manages to somehow
play a double from this position
not only does he get the double
he lands in just about good enough position on the black
to allow him to play a shot
pop the black
get black to yellow
and finish off the maximum
this is an incredible shot
in the middle of a maximum break
so let's see what we can do with it
well I've got it straight away
and good position
so the only question left
is which of these doubles was the cheekiest
Mark's shot gets him four
and it would have got him more
if the frame had still been live
whereas Liam Pullen's shot gets him five
and he's clearly this week's winner
because he had a lot more on this
on to the masters now
and oh yeah this one
yeah this is I think the Neil Robertson shot
that's that started the whole danger shot thing
because he has to swerve around the green here
to hit the red
now that in itself
isn't really too much of a problem
I think if I was just trying to do that
I'd get it right more or less every single time
however Neil also manages to pot this red
while swerving around
and it's such a big swerve
that you really have no control of the cue ball
you see as the cue ball slows down
it swerves violently to the left across the table
and if you get the speed slightly too hard
or slightly too soft
you can end up being way out
just on a small amount of pace
so hopefully this doesn't take me too long
but let's see how many attempts it actually takes
yeah that was a lot
really difficult to judge
I'm just so glad it's actually gone in
next is the German masters and Kyron Wilson
and I think this shot
where he pots the black
and spins the cue ball back down the table off the bolt cushion
getting the perfect cannon on the red near the side cushion
was the first ever viewer recommended shot
we're doing these all the time now
so for upcoming tournaments
you can recommend any shot you think I should be playing
and if it's good enough
I'm definitely going to give it a go
just comment on any one of my videos
as much information as you can
about the tournament
the players playing the game
the score of the frame
and the score of the match
the more information you give me
the more likely I am to recreate your shot
and I've recreated this one perfectly as far as I can see
at the world grand prix
this Joe O'Connor shot did really well
because it looks extreme
and really good at the same time
as Joe manages to pot the red
spin the cue ball back off the side cushion
and back up the table
avoiding the middle pocket for position
I really struggle with this one at the time
and I think I'm going to do so again
because it's so hard to get into the cue ball
with enough backspin and left hand side
in order to get the white top side of the middle pocket
so we might see me going in off here quite a bit
it's also a really difficult shot to set up correctly
this is taking me quite a long time
to get the cue ball and the red in the correct position
because if you just add a bit too much angle
or a bit too little
the shot itself doesn't actually work
I think I've got it here
but no I've gone in off in the middle pocket again
I just need to get hold of it a little bit better
than what I'm already doing
and I'll be down the table easily
but unfortunately as good as I can do at the moment
keeps going in the middle pocket
I've played a few when I've missed it
that I've definitely cued it well enough
to get back the right side of the middle pocket
but I just haven't done it when I've potted it
which is a bit annoying really
I don't think this shot is really that difficult
and I've got it here off the cushion
yeah that's more or less perfect
looking back at the players championship
Judd Trump had the standout shot
as he potted this red down the cushion
and screwed a cue ball back safe into bulk
using quite a bit of right hand side off the cushion
so let's have a go at this one
and see how long it takes me to line this one up correctly
considering how difficult it is to judge a shot at this speed
with so much right hand side
I was miles away with my first two attempts
so that's got to be more luck than judgment
however I still couldn't get into the cue ball well enough
to get back the same side as a yellow as Judd
the Welsh Open and Neil Robertson gave us
what I think is close to being
the most unplayable shot of the year
or at least in my opinion
as the brown is so close to the corner pocket here
yet Neil manages not only to pot it
but screw the cue ball all the way back down the table
from a position where he's only just in front of the D
off two cushions in good enough position on the blue
to be able to cut it
and go on to make the clearance here
and win this deciding frame
I can't believe how significant this was
at the same time as what an excellent shot this is
and I'm not sure how long it's going to take me
to get the right position on the blue
it might not even be possible
it wasn't the last time I tried it
but I've got a lot of shots
that I couldn't get before in this video already
so let's see what happens
what's happened so far
is I've been able to screw the cue ball
most of the way back
I'm using almost purely backspin
but a tiny bit of left hand side as well
because the cue ball's coming into contact
with the side cushion
and that'll just help it back a little bit
but I'm not sure how much left hand side to use here
I've hit this one about as well as I can
and that's as far back as I can get it
I can't do any better unfortunately
at the world open
Mark Williams took the best shot
as he managed to pop this brown
and find the correct angle of two cushions
to get the perfect cannon on the three reds
not only hitting them
but pushing them all on perfectly
this is going to be tough to get the right angle
but if I do that at enough speed
everything should be about right
my first attempt taught me
I was using too much backspin
so I reduced it heavily
and this is the result
couldn't have gone much better really
we've got a Michael Shabachek shot coming up
right after we find Sakswiz from Vanarasi, India
which is there
at the qualifiers for the world championships
Michael Shabachek managed to play a shot
that seemed completely impossible
as he pots the black here
and plays the cue ball around two cushions
narrowly avoiding the green
but also slightly arcing the cue ball around the green
as it comes off the bolt cushion
this allows him to get a cannon on the red
that's near the side cushion
and it's going to be one
that's incredibly tough to recreate
as the angle itself doesn't appear to be on
or at least doesn't appear to be on
when you look at it
I've not only got to get the spin and the pot right
I've also got to make it arc in the correct way
as it comes off the bolt cushion
either way this could take me some time
I'm just really struggling to find the right angle here
I'm either getting into the cue ball too much
or not enough
and going around the green like this
seems to be something that happens every time
if I fail to hit the jaw
I just can't seem to judge this one correctly
I'm trying to hit every different position on the cue ball
and that seems to explain why I keep missing it
but I'm not too sure about that
I thought I had it then
just flicked the edge of the green
and that's the real problem here
although I've missed it this time
and it looks perfect
I've got the cannon
and I'm not going to argue with that
let's move on
last week of the world championships
you chose shot I from Mark Allen
this really impressive snooker
at the end of the longest frame in Crucible history
which he absolutely nailed
so congratulations to Mark
and as this is the best shots of the season
I've now got to try and play it
so let's give this a go
hang on
initially that's not quite as good
although I seem to have got the pace correct
I've just not hit the pink thin enough
and this is the whole difficulty with this shot
you've got to hit the right part of the pink
otherwise you won't get anywhere near it
and if you just hit it slightly too thin
or slightly too thick
you'll end up far up the table
or too far down
and the pace will look all wrong
but it's just the contact with the pink
and once I get that right
I'm going to start getting incredibly close
this looks good
and I'm right in behind it
really pleased with that one
couldn't have gone much better
so now you've got the chance to vote
for any one of the shots in this video
and vote for your shot of the season
you can do so for free
