Lunar New Year is here and families all over Taiwan are celebrating together! But... many families are missing somebody who is stuck overseas, therefore I asked my instagram followers all over the world if they wanted to record a video that I can share on my channel for their families.

Hello everybody, welcome back to the channel. My name is Alan, this is My Life in Taiwan,
and this is officially my first video of the Year of the Ox. So let me say once again,
a very happy Lunar New Year to all of you, and I wish you only health, happiness and prosperity
for the upcoming year. Now, in my last video I talked a little bit about how Lunar New Year
here in Taiwan can be a little bit difficult for foreigners such as myself, whilst I also mentioned
that I think there's lots of Taiwanese people overseas who share the same feeling. Therefore,
in that video I mentioned the idea of putting together a video of clips of messages of Taiwanese
people that are for some reason stuck overseas and cannot come back to celebrate with their
families, whether that's study or work or the pandemic travel restrictions. I just wanted to
give some of my Taiwanese followers overseas the chance to be on the channel and share their
message with their families. I know they can do it of course personally, but I've got a YouTube
channel, so why not give people a platform? And I got dozens and dozens of messages of people
telling me it's a great idea, but they're too camera shy to do it themselves. So yeah, the video
entries weren't as numerous as I'd expected, but I told myself even if I only get one submission
that it's important to keep my word, make the video and share the message. So I think that's
enough for me. This video isn't actually about me for once. Let's hear what people from Taiwan
all around the world have to share with their families.
And last but not least, I want to thank you Alan for your amazing channel. Me and my boyfriend and a lot of
friends here in Holland, we are such big fans of yours. You are doing something amazing, something
great. So please keep going. I wish you a very, very good year.

哈喽,在台湾的大家跟在香港的真秀,你们还好吗?其实刚刚跟你们视讯了一下,然后真的超开心的。今年因为疫情的关系,没有办法回去过年,真的很可惜,可是也不能怎么样。然后还好台湾的防疫真的做得很好,所以我也没有太担心。那希望在新的一年,你们平平安安,然后身体健康,平平安安。
