It’s 30 degrees but feels like 40 here in Kaohsiung so join me and Prozzie for a livestream shaved ice session!!!
I think we're live. Oh my goodness, welcome everybody. Hello. Uh, what time is it?
1. A 1 p.m on a Tuesday live stream can only mean one thing. Yeah, maybe it takes a second.
Uh, 1 p.m on a Tuesday can only mean one thing. Yeah, one person's watching. That's me, this guy.
It's a sad, sad place. As you can see, we're quite hot. It's very humid. Is my shirt actually
transparent? Yeah, I can see your tattoo. Oh yeah, wow. Uh, yeah, welcome everybody. Real, uh,
Tuesday surprise for you because Prozzie's on holiday. I am, finally. He's not actually working
for a change. So we're traveling around Taiwan. If you hadn't already seen from our Instagrams,
we are, where are we? China, uh, Kaohsiung. In a bucket of sweat, that's where we are. This is
the hottest day of the year, would you say? It's the humidest. I don't know if it's the hottest,
but it's certainly the most humid, that's for sure. Yeah, it's a weird kind of heat that's
really hit us now. A bad spot. A bad spot. That was, that was, that was insane. We went, we went
up, up to the old British consulate, the Da Gou Ying Guo Qing Ling, Qing Ling Su, Qing Ling,
the, the, the old British consulate. They're beautiful. Super beautiful, but super hot,
so we've decided to come and get some shaved ice. We sure have. And we just fired up the,
fired up the live stream before ordering, so you're going to be here for the whole experience.
Feel free, come and go as you please. Don't feel like you have to stay here.
If you have any questions, then by all means, shoot them across. If you leave this live stream,
you're not invited to my birthday party. I'm going to feel incredibly guilty about leaving.
A big bowl of ice. Oh, should we do the 30, the 30 bowl, bowl? Have you ever seen it? There's
like a Da Wang Bong or something. Really? Do you think you'd be able to eat all of it? No. I don't
want to waste any food. I did it with four people and we didn't finish it, so. Yeah, we don't want
to waste food. We're just going to get ourselves a nice single bowl of shaved ice. Happy Valentine's
Day, by the way. This is a nice, nice romantic graffiti we've got here on the, on the wall.
Censored. To really bring about the... Yeah, I had no idea it's Valentine's Day. How do you know
it's Valentine's Day? Who told you? Well, it's on everybody's Instagram. Okay. Do you want to
go and get us a menu? Because I'm, I'm trapped in there. I'll just, I'll get through some of
the comments while we're here. Let's see who's here. Jasmine. Hello. Uh, Josephine. Rock Lobster
Port. Hello. Oh, Mariano. Hey, buddy. You're, um, apparently you're not going to be here until
next year at the earliest. So, uh, yeah. Josefina, I take back my hello to you after you told me to
lose weight. Why do you want me to lose weight? Does it really offend you that I'm who I am?
Uh, and Elvis. So yeah. Welcome everybody. We are in Kaohsiung. I've got no idea which, uh,
which restaurant we're in, but, um, it's, uh, they're not paying us. So I'm not going to,
not going to tell you which, which one we're in, but here's the menu. Any suggestions,
please, uh, leave your suggestions in the comments down below. What should we eat? Uh,
I'm going to go with the Shui Guo Niu Nai Bing. You have to, you have to, you have to write it
in Chinese, Cosby. I tried learning how to write Chinese for like a few days and it's way too
difficult. Do you know all the strokes? Yeah, that's what I, that's the only part I studied.
What do you think? Let's have a look. Give me a score out of 10 for the, uh, the Chinese,
Chinese writing. They're all the wrong sort of sizes and, um, what's it called? The relative
sizes. Like the Tian should be bigger than the Mu or something. I don't know. But anyway,
what do you want? Uh, any suggestions for Prozzie? Do you think two people could eat one though?
No, no, no, no. It's only like a small bowl. We could eat one, but it would be not enough.
I think I will have strawberry with condensed milk. I do like mango, but you're going to get
mango pie. So let's change it up a little bit. Yeah, we can share, you know, coronavirus and
all that. Someone says beer. Oh, you've got a super chat from mistakes were made. Uh,
love what y'all do. Hoping to get a vaccine before the end of the year so I can be there again this
time for Xmas. Xmas? Christmas? Yep. And the new year. Well, here's some beers. Yeah, thank you
very much. That's, uh, we'll put these funds to, uh, the shaved ice. I haven't got any money.
I think that's, have you not brought money? And there's Prozzie. That's, that's a bit uglier.
I've gone with, uh, Taomei. Taomei, I just copied the, uh, the Chinese. I think now you have to go
and, uh, so live on camera, I'm going to, on Valentine's day, I'm going to give you my wallet
to go and order us lunch. Wow. Wow. Sound effects. Uh, I'll leave you a phone with the comments.
Um, so that mistakes were made. Mistakes were made. I'm not sure I've seen your comment before.
I'm pretty sure I would remember your name if you commented before, but yeah, um, hot out there. Yes,
it's crazy hot. I'm not too sure of the temperature. Let's see if we can ask Siri. How do you ask Siri
What's the temperature? 29 degrees. Uh, it feels way hotter than 29 degrees feels about 34 or 35
because of the humidity factor. But yes. Um, Oh my goodness. We are banging in super chats.
I didn't expect, I didn't expect so many super chats on a Tuesday afternoon, but thank you to
Sophie. Thank you, Sophie. $75. I think that's going to cover my, uh, my shaved ice. Really
appreciate it. And so hot here too. I think in Taipei, it's usually raining every time I go to
Taipei, but I've had a couple of days there where it's been sunny, but, but yes. Uh, how's everybody
doing? What are you doing? Are you on holiday? You're on summer vacation. Are you still working?
As we just mentioned, the reason that we're here is because, um,
Prozzie has a week's holiday and we're doing a
however the Chinese would be. We're basically cutting out the top half of Taiwan
because nobody cares about that part. Well, it's just in Taipei really is the biggest part
that we miss out, but we can always go to Taipei in the future.
No, I'm sure there's lots to see up north, but why do you keep pausing the live stream?
Why do you keep doing that? I'm sorry, man. I'm so sorry. Um, I guess we could ask people for
food suggestions of things to eat. Did you read your $75? I did. Yeah. I paid for my shaved ice.
Yeah. $75 on the dot. Yeah. So we've been, um, Oh, yours is $75. Mine is $55. No. Yeah. You
ordered this. Oh, they didn't have mine by the way. So I got this one. Oh, okay. Oh yeah. I guess
you got this one. Didn't you? No, I got the fruits with condensed milk. Did you? Yeah.
But it's got mango in it. I didn't know that. Oh, okay. Uh, what's the food suggestion there for
dinner? For dinner? Not too sure what that is. Um, Erica is asking, will we take the
ferry to Qijin later? We did that last night. Have a couple of cheeky drinks. Erica definitely
doesn't follow me on Instagram. How dare you, Erica? We posted the most beautiful sunset from
the boat on the way to Qijin last night. We had a few drinks. Oh, look at this.
Did you get the same as me? What did you get? Ah, nice choice. I might get some water though.
I feel like we're going to dehydrate ourselves with all this sugar. I've got a big bottle in
my scooter. Okay. Well there you go. For anybody that's never been to Taiwan that's watching,
this is a very popular, uh, summer dish. They say that like this is the biggest money-making
food in Taiwan. Like if I ask, I've asked a couple of Taiwanese people, if you opened a restaurant,
what would you open? They always say shabing. I don't doubt it because all it is is just chopped
up fruit with condensed milk and ice. I mean, you can't even sell this in Canada because it
falls on the floor for free. So what fruits have we got? I've got guava, watermelon,
pineapple, banana, guava, and, uh, yeah. I think mine is the exact same as yours. You've got a big
bowl of ice cream. Oh, look at that. Can I, um, can I show your ice cream later? It's Valentine's
Day. Anything for you, man. Oh, Josephina has sent a super chat. The first thing that she said,
so I said, oh, hello, Josephina. And then the next comment was, I don't lose some weight.
So I retracted my, uh, hello. And now she's made up for it with a super chat, $30. We're not doing
very good with the weight loss, are we? Is there, is there, is there a weight loss thing going on?
I think after I finish my vacation, I got to start taking better care of myself
because most of the comments in my latest video is talking about just live, live life and enjoy
it is my motto. Yeah. Heart attack at 45. Boom, done. Go out on a high. I just have a
crippling need to be liked. Don't we all? Prozzie is all sweaty. Yeah. Yeah. Any commentary on that
shape, guys? They're really going to town on that, eh? Yeah. Don't **** about. It is really nice
because it's so cold. Oh, we got another super chat. John M. Just so you don't feel left out,
we want a birthday invite. Happy Valentine's day to you both. When's your birthday? Your
birthday is in like March. March. Yeah. Um, my birthday is coming up if anyone's interested.
Is it, is it coming up? Yes, it is. Yeah. October. Can you consider that coming up? October 14th.
Yeah. It is incredibly cold. So it does help like when it, when it like stays in your throat,
it like cools down your brain. Oh, 100%. Yeah. It's like, it's a, it's not just a, uh, a myth.
I just find it hilarious how Taiwanese people would spend so much money on something that
literally falls from the sky in my country for free. That we have too much of it. It's annoying.
I thought you meant mangoes. Mangoes don't fall from the sky. We don't grow mangoes.
Don't grow mangoes in Canada, I'm pretty sure. What do you grow in Canada? Maize? Grain? Corn?
Prozzie, black absorbs hotness. That's why, that's why you're so damn hot.
It's that black, that black on you looks super hot. I think if you're going to live in Taiwan,
it doesn't ******* matter what you wear. You aren't going to sweat as hot. Yeah. I'm in white
and sweating just as much. It's insane, like, I felt fine earlier and then as soon as we started
walking up those stairs, it just hit me like a ton of bricks. Yeah, we saw monkeys. We saw, um,
Formosan macaques and, uh, then we saw a guy shoot them with a paintball gun, which is...
I think that's funny because I guess they could be a bit territorial, I suppose.
Oh, Melissa, thank you for your super chat donation. Is that, are you the same Melissa that
always comments on my stories on Instagram? I think so. Yeah, I think your picture is similar,
but thanks so much. Um, but yeah, so I guess they have to kind of get rid of the monkeys.
Yeah. Now, if we, if a foreigner was seen shooting, if a foreigner was seen shooting a
monkey with a paintball gun, it would be front page news of the Taipei Times probably,
but because it's a Taiwanese person, it's fine. How's it going? It's really, really good. Yeah.
Why? Because we got brain freeze. Oh, yeah. Do you know what brain freeze actually is?
Where it comes from? It's because the ice is so close to your spinal cord,
it actually freezes the base of your spinal cord and sends a shock into your brain. Really? Yeah.
It's the fountain of, fountain of knowledge. This is what you get from 12 hours a day on YouTube.
Oh, Martin Peterson, a long time, a long time follower. Hello, Martin. And he said he has the
beers ready in Taipei. Well, $75. That's going to buy me and Prozzie a beer each in 7-Eleven later
when we get to our destination. Are we actually going to go somewhere today? I thought we were
going to stay and go somewhere. No, no, no. We'll go somewhere. But it's going to be dark.
We'll have to do a bit of night. Keep it interesting. We have dinner at 5.30 with
a subscriber. And then after we finish dinner, then we're going to hit the road and go
on the way to Taitung. I think that's a stupid idea. No. We're just going to spend more money
on it. Exactly. Yeah. I think because we're going to have to ride like sort of on the coast,
which we'll miss. It's going to be dark. We're already on the coast. We're on the coast. We
have to go down. Yeah, but it's not on the coast. It's in the mountains. Okay, whatever. We're
driving in the mountains, which is 10 times worse in the dark. It should be fun. This is
the adventurous motorcyclist, motovlogger, who's seen more than his fair share of deadly crashes
from irresponsible riders. It's really fun to see the university kids that I was telling you
yesterday. Because they don't really go out very often. Because they don't really go out very often.
You just don't really see kids that are like 18 and 22.
But now they're all out with their friends, like exploring. Yeah, this is a bit strange. You see a
lot of high school kids about, but they obviously have to commute from school to home. But the
university students tend to stay within their university districts. So maybe on a Saturday,
you might see someone coming to a night market. But generally throughout the daytime, you never
see that age group. Tony Watson says drink something warm if you want to feel refreshed
on a hot day. I think that's a load of bologna, Tony. Yeah, I think you're full of ----. It's a
load of bologna, Tony. You get what it rhymes? Bologna, Tony. I think I'm going to get some
water. Yeah, go for it. It's not really a smart idea to be eating that much sugar.
Tony, have you become the health expert? Where are you going? It's a highlight.
Can you get me a soup? Have you got money? Oh, now you've got money.
Yeah, sure. Yeah, so I asked on my Instagram today for suggestions of foods or restaurants in
Taitung. Our next major stop is going to be Taitung. So if anybody's been to Taitung and
knows what's good to eat there, then please send me some suggestions. Because we were in Tainan
yesterday. We had some great food in Tainan. Lots of options in Tainan. Also lots of options here in
Kaohsiung. But I'm not too sure what's the what's the food in Taitung. So please let me know.
Not here, it doesn't. Tony, you're getting some grief in the comment section for
telling us to drink warm stuff because it doesn't seem to work. Oh, who's that?
A super chat. Much appreciated. I didn't expect to make so many super chats here. But this is just
helping us to pay for shaved ice and our beers.
Josephina, again, thank you. Enjoy the afternoon.
Not too sure I understand. Sorry about my terrible English. You boys look good.
Yeah, we feel good. We're having a really good time. It's quite funny. I should say a little bit
about doing a find out with your with your friend is a bit of a dangerous, dangerous option. Because
you never know how it's going to be. But because me and Prozzie live together 24 hours a day.
We knew there'd be no kind of problems. And we've just kind of got on with it. We're just basically
doing what we normally do, but in different cities all around, all around Taiwan.
Good food is mee, some more.
Chocolate. Tell Prozzie we want a 30 days no booze challenge video series.
You got him fat, you Brit. I had nothing to do with getting Prozzie fat. In fact, I think in
March, April and May, I didn't drink for three months. I took three months off drinking. So for
me, it's pretty easy to do no drinking challenges. I just don't want to. I just enjoy having a beer
occasionally. And for three months, I was not drinking. I didn't lose any weight. So yeah.
Prozzie isn't fat. Completely agree. I don't think either of us could be considered
fat as such. Just out of shape and overweight a little bit. But
it's very, it's testament to videos that we've made before. We often talk about this in videos,
the way Taiwanese people are so honest and forthcoming with criticism of each other and
foreigners. So I often find that we talk about our weight or our body condition.
But back in England, it's never even a topic. We would never dare talk to someone or make it a
topic of conversation about someone's weight. But I guess we are sitting here eating pretty
unhealthy food. I don't get your Taiwanese humor. What was your Taiwanese humor? Oh,
okay. Yeah, I know you were joking. Don't worry. Just so now you get now you get to sit and watch
me eating shaved ice by myself. You lucky lucky people. Oh, wow. What's his name? Is that Goku?
I have no idea. I've never watched it. Who's that? Tell us in the comment section. That's
is he from One Piece? Dragon Ball Z. Oh, you were anglicizing it for me. Omar loves you,
doesn't he? I love you too, Omar. I totally wanted to hear. Oh, Evayne is here. Evayne,
all right. Nice. You're not gonna finish that? This is where in the editing, I would zoom in,
zoom in on my face. How often do you eat shaved ice? Not very often. When I was a bushy band
teacher, probably in the summer, probably once every couple of weeks, maybe three times a month,
the boss would, on a super hot day, she just decides to open up her purse.
Let a few of the moths fly out and buy everybody shaved ice. But it's not something I would go and
eat by myself. No, I think it's definitely a dish that's meant to be sort of shared.
Yeah. Like a lot of Taiwanese food is, I think. A lot of restaurants,
same in the West, you don't really go by, it's kind of sad to go by yourself.
A little bit, yeah. I only have it like once a year, maybe twice a year. Yeah, it was just,
but we both, when we were up on the top of that hill at that place,
we both knew exactly what it was. Oh yeah, for sure. That's the time that it calls for shaved
ice is when it's just exceedingly hot. I've never sweated so much in my just dripping pouring cold
sweat. It's insane. James from Japan is here. James from Japan? James. James from Japan? Oh,
James. Your buddy, James. Hello, hello, hello. Is that Lucas? Yeah. It's a bit sad to have it all
by yourself. I've heard that Lucas has it all by himself often. Right, Lucas? It's just funny
that I said it's sad to have it all by himself while you're eating it. No, I think he's being
innuendo-y. I think he's talking about the cake. No, I think he's laughing at you. Lucas,
you have to explain what you meant. Were you being, were you using a dirty, a dirty joke?
He said, well, Alan is eating by himself. Oh, okay. Just my dirty mind.
There are definitely kids riding around that are not legal age to be riding around.
Yeah, there's definitely some like 15 year old, 16 year old kids riding scooters.
This area is really like loose holiday style, like a little bit like Xiaoliuqiu,
Green Island feeling. Yeah. Considering it's so close to the city. Yeah. What are we going to do
before dinner time? I want to take you to see if we can go to those military tunnels in Gusan.
See some torture. Should be fun. Any suggestions of things to do in the next
few hours in Kaohsiung? Any, any single ladies want to put a ring on it? Give me a, give me a
shout. What other interesting facts can you say about shaved ice? It was the first shaved ice shop
we started in Taichung, in Yizhongjie night market. Really? True or false? True or false?
Well, you said it like it was true, so. Yep. Unpack the ice is shaved.
100 push-ups for Prozzie. Chocolate. I do have to start doing push-up stuff. It's always the
worst. Like people will compare, I do it too, like comparing footage of me in China to footage of me
here in Taiwan. It's just like. But I think if every, I just said this while you were in the
High Life, like you would never sit around and have a conversation with your friends about
everybody's weight. Taiwanese people would. That's what I'm saying, like in the West.
How many times do our live streams, at least one time it pops up, our weight and body condition
pops up. Yeah. Like every video, it's like, oh wow, you look, you look like you've had better
days or something like that. Yeah. And like we don't, I do not give a ****. Like I don't feel
offended when someone says I'm fat. I just think it's like, it's just so weird. I'm not offended.
It's just why you're always bringing it to my attention. Yeah, as if you don't know, as if you
don't like look in the ******* mirror. But like I was listening to a podcast the other day and it's
like a really like progressive, like politically correct podcast with two girls talking about
being young girls in New York. And they were like talking about how some guy gave them a compliment
about their body or something. And it's like now in the West, you don't, you don't even mention
anything positive or negative about somebody's appearance. Yeah. I've seen that on my friend's
Instagram. She said like, never, you shouldn't compliment people on their weight. Just don't
mention it. Because you don't know what kind of, what they're going through. Yeah. It's like,
there's a, there's a girl I follow that Malaysian actress I showed you on Instagram and she's
like healthy looking, but she always says how she's, she's happy being chubby. And I'm like,
how offensive is that to somebody that's got real body issues? Like watching that, dreaming of having
a body like hers. And she's like, Oh, I'm happy. I'm so comfortable in my skin being chubby. And
it looks like you're not chubby at all. It's like, it just makes people feel maybe one of the
Malaysian standards she has. I don't know. I think, I think the whole of Asia has a different
attitude to political correctness. Yeah. And like what the ideal body is like, I sort of feel like
most Asian women would be told by Western doctors that she's way too thin. Well, yeah. My, my ex
wife was told she was too fat to have a baby. And she was like, for me, she was hot. Like,
she was like athletic, you know, like solid, like, you know what I mean? Like a typical strong
African woman, not that she was healthy. And she can run like half marathons and stuff.
And the doctor's like, Oh, you're too big. You need to lose weight. I'll be like,
I was like standing there with it, like knowing her temperament and what I would never say
anything like that. And I'm like, don't do it. Yeah. This is the excuse that they always use.
This guy just said, asking about body weight is Taiwanese people's way to show you care.
Such as such, it might be true, but it's such an excuse.
No idea. Okay, we're almost done here. I didn't really get a lot from the whole thing.
What are we going to just do the highlights? Yeah, I don't know.
Absolutely smashed that. Love it. Didn't have any brekkie. No, or lunch.
You know, it's one thing I kind of wish that we didn't miss out. And every time I come to
You have to explain what is poutine for anyone that doesn't know. It's a Canadian dish. There's
this French fries, cheese and gravy, which is like, sounds gross. And it looks gross,
but it's amazing. And I love it. I can actually make it at home now. So I don't really have to
get it here, but it's always something I usually get. So do you know what we're already? We're
already excited. Yep. I'm not going to tell them it'll be a surprise in the video. I don't even
know. It's going to be interesting. Anyway, that's the most important part. You got quite
a few Canadians in the chat. Nice. The key is curds. The key is curds, but there's no way you
can get that here in Taiwan. I switch it for like a mozzarella, but sometimes mozzarella,
but something that's got the same meltiness. Is that the same thing that Little Miss Tupper
eating her curds and whey? Little Miss Tupper eating her curds and whey. I don't know what
whey is though. Whey is like the stuff that comes off the sheep. Is that like whey protein?
I've got no idea. You're not looking smart, man. It is starting to thunder and lightning here.
I'm a bit worried that your bones are going to go to ----. For both of you to get a drink. Thank
you. I think it's a bit early, but definitely maybe a bit later. Yeah. The one good thing about
doing a handout on scooters is it keeps you sober for most of the time. Especially if there's just
no chance you're going to... No, like as if you're like bussing it or backpacking or something. Oh,
sure. You know, if we were all in a car with one driver. Oh yeah, you'd be hammered. Yeah.
Yeah. We'd just be like holiday mode on drinking in the afternoon. For sure. So yeah. What are we
going to do if it's going to rain? We're going into the tunnels. No, but I mean like if it rains
get wet. All my camera gear, my bags. I've got plastic garbage bags.
Okay. We didn't really say thank you. Oh yeah, we did say thank you to Gigi.
Thank you very much. But yeah, thanks for joining us at this random time and location.
I'm sorry. Omar has just said acknowledge that shawarma and poutine is a monstrosity.
Kill yourself. Seriously. Jump out a ******* window. Always a good way to end the live
stream. Jesus Christ. Have you had a shawarma before? It's ******* fantastic. It's a Lebanese
wrap. Oh, okay. It is a bit of a monstrosity in the sense that it's just a lot of food and it's
very difficult to finish, but it is so goddamn good. I miss it so much. I can't believe you
would say it's a monstrosity. It is a monstrosity, but don't give me that attitude and don't kill
yourself either. Do you know what the good news is? We were almost close enough to keep this
live stream up as an actual video until you told one of my subscribers to commit suicide.
I didn't agree to keep it up. No, I'm just kidding. Yeah, we're going to wrap this up.
It is what it is. Shaved ice from start to finish. And now we're going to get on with
our huandao and one of the videos is going to start coming out in the next couple of weeks.
Yeah, for sure. I've got a Patreon video that's going to come out today, hopefully.
Oh, okay. There you go. If you want to go check out Prozzy's Patreon video, then
prozzy.com slash Patreon backslash mp4 html dot Canada. Yeah, stay positive. Don't kill yourself.
Bye-bye.
