It is an impersonal obligation so somebody or an institution oblige a person to do something following a rule or law. The lesson will give you the different types of sentences to use it with. This video is in Italian. This lesson is for elementary students who wish to study or review English grammar, and for students who reached an advanced level, but who wish to brush up on some grammar rules.

Oggi parlerò del verbo modale have to.
al passato io potrei dire I had to learn English at university, in the present I have to learn
English at university and in the future I will have to learn English at the university.
e in inglese americano have to sta rimpiazzando must, quindi si usa have to per ogni tipo di
obbligo sia personale che impersonale. Guardiamo l'esempio introduttivo che ho
You have to be quiet during a lecture at university, bisogna fare silenzio quando c'è
il futuro, you will have to learn English at university, quindi will c'è bisogno perché è
una frase al futuro, ma nella frase al presente non c'è bisogno di un ausiliare, you have to
learn English at university, ok?
you won't, will not have to learn English at university, ok? Questo potrebbe essere un esempio
negativo di una frase al futuro con have to. E' una frase interrogativa invece,
wh question word at the beginning se c'è, poi ausiliare, auxiliary, plus subject, soggetto,
plus have to, ok, have to, plus the verb, infinitive, plus the object, se c'è l'oggetto,
ok? What will you have to study, ok, at university? What will you have to study
at university? Questa potrebbe essere una frase con have to al futuro, ok? Ovviamente potrebbe
Adesso let's recap, ho detto
che usiamo have to per un forte obbligo, ok?
Quindi è un obbligo impersonale, qualcuno me
dice di fare, ok? Quindi è oggettivo come obbligo.
Have to significa dovere. Ho detto anche che in inglese
americano have to sta rimpiazzando must e che in Inghilterra si può anche dire have got to, ok?
So now I have a question for you. What do you have to do to be admitted to university in your
country? What do you have to do to be admitted to university in your country? Rispondete sotto

you have a nice day and I see you next time. Take care, bye bye.
