I'm here in Port Jervis, New York, where the America the Beautiful Festival is prepping
to open its two-day celebration of America's 250th birthday.
One of the organizers, Jin Pang, she's a Chinese immigrant, she actually approached me four
years ago and she said, we want to do a festival to celebrate America.
We love our freedom here.
And I was very touched.
I have a lot of veterans in my family.
And it's so true.
We don't celebrate our freedom and our beautiful heritage enough.
Red, white, and blue are everywhere here as the festival brings together families from
across the region for a weekend celebrating American heritage, service, and community.
The event features live music, food vendors, and family-friendly activities designed to
honor the nation's history while bringing entertainment for people of all ages.
It's a pride of serving and giving back because the country has given so much to us.
And for those sticking around into the evening, the day will wrap up with a fireworks show
scheduled for 9 p.m. tonight.
