Hello friends. As I've just moved house, apologies for how echoey it is. This is the first room that
we are doing up. This is going to be our master bedroom and I thought at least for this first
room, you can let me know after this if you guys are interested in seeing this for other rooms,
but at least for this first room I'm going to show you how we took it from this to this.
Okay, hi. Hello. I'm still ill. I have no clothes left clean. We're at that stage
we've been moved in now. How many days? Would I have to say Monday? Five days? Yeah, five days
we've been moved in. Four maybe? This is our master bedroom. Hello. Look at it. It's got,
well, it's not, well, it's fine. It's not necessarily not gorgeous. Today we are beginning
painting. When I say we, it's Tom and his brother mainly. I pick the paint colours.
Great job. I think you have a lot to be proud of. Yeah. Which I'll show in a sec. I pick the
on the mic. It's so echoey in here cause there's nothing in here apart from like a hoover and
paints on ladders. We've never like made over a room before, so I don't really know how the
process is going to go, but I thought I would do a video taking you along with me. So yeah,
this is the room. Let me show you some clips from when I did the tour because I think that footage
is quite good. I mean, I haven't seen it, but I think Tom did a good job filming it. But as you
can see, we have a lot of built in wardrobes, which we need to make look a bit more nice,
profesh. I don't love the colour they are. Here they are behind me. This is like our whole built
in wardrobe unit. Um, I think the colour they are, I mean, this is like the colour that the whole
room is, is not my fave, is not my fave. I don't love it. And so I think painting needs a bolder
colour and with new handles, we've taken the handles off already, will make it look a lot nicer.
So let me show you the paints we've got, because we've already got them. Okay, now I know how
paint samples are done, but I've got the tin so I can show you. So, and I'll put a picture up on
screen of what the colour is supposed to look like. So the colour we are going with for this wall,
which is the wall that are fed to the against, and the wardrobes is Red 03 from Lick. Listen,
I'm obsessed with Lick Paint. I was like, guys, we're getting Lick Paint. I don't care what
everyone says. We're getting Lick Paint. So we're doing Lick Paint the whole room. This
is not sponsored. If Lick want to sponsor me and send me free paint, I am more than down,
but it's not. We bought this with our own money from B&Q. If B&Q want to sponsor me,
if anyone wants to sponsor me, I will rave about literally anything as long as it's given to me
for free. If anyone wants to send me, any company, I am not above it. If any company wants to send me
free ----, I'd welcome it. We have no money. Anyway, yeah, Red 03. I love this colour. It's
a kind of terracottery warm colour. This is going to be on that wall and the wardrobes,
which I know is a bit risky. And I am nervous about it being the two parallel walls that are
that colour. But listen, it's paint. If we want to change something, we can change something.
It's fine. So that's going to be those walls. And then all the other walls and the ceiling. And as
you can see, we have this kind of like interesting part here, this triangle. So like up to here will
be the Red 03. And then I think the ceiling colour will come down there and it'll also be that wall
and it'll be this wall. Is this her? Yes. Taupe 03. We went back and forth between Taupe 02 and
Taupe 03. I'll show you pictures of both of them. This is a dark room, right? This is a dark ass
room. A lot of our other rooms are much brighter than this. This is probably the darkest room. And
so we were going back and forth between like trying to keep it bright because it is so dark
or leaning into the cosiness, right? And so Taupe 02 is lighter, but I really love Taupe 03. It's
got this, it's like this pinky with probably a bit of grey in it, neutral. And I just think it's
so beautiful. And everything I watch about it, every like YouTube video I watch where people
have it in their room, it looks just so cosy. And so I think let's lean into the cosy. So this is
going to be our ceiling colour, which is I think what they're starting today. Again, I'm not,
I just pick the colours. I have creative control and then my workers come in and do it. So that's
the plan. Those are our colours. But yeah, they're beginning pink today. I'm very excited. Tom has
two weeks off work. And so we want to get this room as close to being done as we can in that
time. We have our bed frame ordered. And so my task is also to start looking for like the accoutrement.
I need to look for door handles. I'm thinking like a gold. I'm thinking we're going to bring
in greens alongside because our bed is very neutral, probably typo three kind of coded.
And then I want to bring in greens with maybe like the rug, maybe the bedside tables. I don't know.
And then just a lot of warm lighting, like a lot of warm. I think this room needs a lot of like
lamps is what we're going to go with. But then green accessories is what I'm thinking. So yeah,
we'll take all the process. I'll see if I can convince Tom's brother to let me film him painting
later. I'll be a bit awks. Sorry, Dan. But yeah, let's just dive in, shall we, on how this room's
going to go. Okay, come with me. Come with me. It's day two. Still very echoey in here. Today,
we're doing the red baby because they did all of the taupe yesterday and it looks so good.
It looks so good. Sorry, I know you're zoomed in. So it's not shaky. Okay, this is her.
This is the taupe. It looks pinkier than I expected, but I love it. I love it.
We've done the ceilings and then it comes down into that corner there. So then this wall all
up here and the cupboards are going to be in the red. I am so obsessed with it. I think it looks
so good. I love it. We're also going to paint the radiator in the color of the wall. So it kind of
blends in and then we're doing the skirting boards and the door in taupe two. So a slightly
lighter color than this. I'm not sure. Oh, here it is. Here it is. Here it is. The skirting boards
and doors are going to be in that lighter color. So it kind of blends in. It's not too harsh or
white, but I love it. I can't wait for it all to come together. I think it looks so good. It looks
so good. I am interested to see how it's going to look once we get the red in. This is it here. We
found the samples guys. Red oak three. I'm interested in what it's all going to look like
once this is on. I feel like it might look initially a bit dark, which I feel like everyone's
going to be a little bit alarmed about. Sorry, let me move the water bottles out of the way.
Yeah. I feel like everyone's going to be like, oh my God, the room looks dark. But I feel like
this room is really going to come together with the lamps and lighting and that's going to be
what really like brings the space together. But yeah, I don't know how much we'll get done today,
whether we get all the red done. We've got to do the wardrobes, which will be a little bit
tricky, probably. But I just keep coming in here being like, I'm obsessed. I love it so much.
But I love it. I love oak three. It's such a nice, cosy, neutral. I think it's like grey and red
turned in there. I think it'll look less pink when we get the red on. Or will they? Will it
be like, oh, it's way more neutral than this, so it looks less pink? Or will it bring out those
tones? I don't know colour theory that well. I'm very bad at colour for whenever we play it.
OK, hello. Listen, yesterday was a crazy day. I would have spoken about this more in another
video, previous video, because I'm filming two videos at once. But Dida, we thought Dida had
escaped and I thought I was never going to see her again. I thought I'd lost her, but she was
just hiding in a bathroom cabinet and our boiler broke six days in. So we've got to drop a lot of
money on a boiler now. This woman did not deserve this. Anyways, but painting did go on. I just
wasn't here to help out or to film any of it. So let me turn you around. Look how good at this.
Are you ready? Are you ready? OK, so this is like where the bed's going to be. And this is,
this wall is completely done. It's got two coats. We're debating whether it needs a third.
It is a little bit different colour wise than what I imagined. I feel like it's a bit rosy.
It's not quite as terracottery. That's what keeps happening. The colours are slightly different
from what you like in your mind imagined to be. When you hold up the sample, it's exactly what
the sample is. It's just in your mind you imagined it differently. But look how like much more
neutral that wall looks and like the ceiling. I feel like it looks way less rosy now. But yeah,
that's that wall. And then we're now today going to paint the wardrobe. So this only has one coat
on it, but we're painting this whole wall this colour as well. We are partly worried that painting
like these two sides of the wall, the dark colour will make it feel narrow. But also I felt like
those just are the walls that needed this colour, like the one behind the bed. And I feel like the
wardrobes needed a colour to look more good, basically. So if it feels a bit narrow, that's
OK. I think once everything is in, it'll look a certain way. We also, let me swivel you over,
Tom painted the radiator to match the wall, which I'm very happy with. We did it just with
the normal paint. On their website, on Nick's website, it says you could do that. So we did it.
How that's going to go, I'm not entirely sure. It says you can just go straight in. So that's
been painted. But yeah, today I probably will help a bit painting, but I'll also leave the
experts to it. I need to sort out my books today, which you'll have seen in a previous vlog.
So that's also what I'm going to be doing. But I'm going to help. I want to help paint a little
bit because everyone else has been painting. I haven't done any painting yet. Do you really
want to work that one? No. No. I think it's looking pretty good. Look at her. I'm kind of,
I'm obsessed. I'm obsessed. I think the room looks great. I think the room looks great. I think the
paint looks great as well. Like I think everything looks really good quality. I'm very happy with all
of our decisions. But yes, I'll see you in a bit once painting begins. I'll try and film a bit of
Okay. Hello. This is very up close and personal guys. The painting is finished. Are you ready?
Oh my God. Look at it. Look at it. Look at it. Look at it. Look at it. I'm obsessed. Look at this.
Isn't it great? No, I truly am obsessed. Look at the wardrobes guys. I love it so much. Reminder,
Lick Taupe 03 on this wall, the ceiling, this wall next to me, which I'll show you in a sec.
Red 03 on the wardrobe and that wall. And then we've actually got Lick Taupe 02 on like the
skirting boards. I'm obsessed. It's everything I ever wanted to be. This to me, the wardrobe
looks like a newly fitted wardrobe. Like this was looking a bit ropey. It's looking a bit on
its last legs. And I feel like it looks like we've had someone come in and fit new wardrobes. I am
obsessed. I'm obsessed. I'm obsessed. And I love the Taupe 03. I've actually watched a lot of
videos recently have told me north facing rooms. Don't go for a white because it will look very
like bleak blue. Go for like a warm neutral. And that's what Taupe 03 is guys. I'm so obsessed.
I'm so obsessed. I can take no credit. Well, I picked the colors, but Tom's family in particular
have done. Oh, she hasn't really been allowed in this room yet. We've had to put a lock on the door
to keep her out. She's now exploring, but I'm obsessed with it. I'm obsessed with it. We are now
today, me and Tom going to make the bed because we have our bed frame. It's about the only piece
of furniture we have actually bought. So that's what we're going to do today. We're going to put
the bed frame up and I feel like then we'll get a real sense of like what the room is going to
look like. But then I need to think about lamps. I need to think about accessories. I need to think
about door handles. Dita, you can get out. I can't wait to see how it looks once we've got the bed in it.
Can you stop moaning? You can open that. Okay. Anyways, let's get making the bed, shall we?
Hello everyone. It's been a while since I've shown you the bedroom and we're gonna start doing stuff
for today. So I thought I'd show you particularly the bed. I love the bed. It's been months by the
way since we last spoke. It's taken us a while to get our ---- together and to order everything
for the bedroom, but it's slowly starting to arrive apart from our bedside tables we want
are still out of stock, but they're coming back. I've inquired many a time. Anyways, let me show
you. Let me show you. So this is the bed all made. I know I started filming the process of making it,
but we quickly decided that wasn't gonna happen. It was actually quite hard to make because it
is an ottoman. We have not put anything down there because it's so heavy to lift up, but this is the
bed. This is what it looks like. I think it looks very cute. I'm really happy with it. I think it's
beautiful and it's kind of gonna be, well, it's kind of what I've themed the rest of the room
off of. These are the wardrobes still. I think you've seen them. Ignore all the clutter up there.
That's all gonna move eventually once we have bedside tables, etc. But yeah, this is the bed
and let me, let me show you some of the stuff that's arrived already because this kind of shape,
the roundness, is kind of what I've themed a lot of what the rest of the bedroom is like
off of. The colour scheme of the room is gonna be this red, which is mainly just gonna be on the
walls. The cream kind of background and the cream of the bed frame and green. So we've got a green
rug coming, which is on its way. I think it's gonna be like a couple weeks yet and I want some
plants throughout the room once the room is like done, but that's a ways away. The one thing I
think I'm not gonna get done in this video is artwork. I think we want some artwork maybe behind
the bed and also on this wall, but we've got something else pretty big coming on that wall,
which you're gonna see in a second. When I saw it come out the box, guys, I might have cried a
little. Like, I'm obsessed. I think she was just genuinely excited about ******* everything. And
then for shapes, I've gone with a lot of stuff that's round. You're gonna see everything's kind
of got curves and round, like the bed frame. Dita, can we have a bit of grace in decorum, please?
Do you wanna say hello? I think she doesn't like when I film and she doesn't get to say hello.
And then she acts like a bit of a prima donna when she's on camera. She's like, I'm not even
gonna look at them. Do you wanna have a look at them? She can see Tom and his mum in the garden.
She's like, what are they doing? What are they doing to the garden? I really like round curve
shapes and we're leaning into that in this room, let me tell you. Everything's round, curves,
because I feel like that makes it kind of all go. That kind of has some
some synchronicity. So let me show you stuff that's come already. So we've got, it's over here,
our knobs for the wardrobes have arrived. This is them. We're going to be fitting them today. I say
we, um, Frank, Tom's stepdad is going to be doing this. But yeah, these, we've got 16 of these bad
boys to go on the wardrobes and I feel like they look really cute with it. So I'm happy with these.
These were from, let me try and tell you where everything's from. Bed is from Dusk. Bedding
is from John Lewis. We actually have this same set. I think it's like, it's not seersucker. I
can't remember what it's called, but we have the same thing in like a pink to kind of match the
ready pink that's on the walls. And it looks really nice. Tom loves these bed sheets. And he
was like, I was like looking on other websites that people recommend and he's like, no, we're
getting these John Lewis bed sheets in another colour. I'm like, okay. These, did I tell you,
these are from Plank Hardware, which came recommended. I mean, like, it's kind of crazy.
They're like eight pound each, which you think, okay, eight pounds for a knob. For 16 of them,
I was like 124 pounds. I spent 124 pounds on, on wardrobe knobs. Such is life, I guess.
Then, this isn't major. We might actually, we might fit this today, maybe. I don't know.
Originally for the ceiling light, I was looking at this one from M&S. I'll put a picture in to
kind of match the ready pinkness, but it took us ages to buy everything. And by the time it came
to buy, I was, I'd kind of fallen out of love with it. And it is like 150 pounds. And I fell
in love with something that was 50 pounds and I think matches the room pretty amazingly.
So this is going to be our ceiling light up above. I mean, come on, with the bed,
with the bed. Are you kidding me? Look at that. Look at the synchronicity. Does that not just
match perfectly? They're literally, they're very similar colours as well. The lighting
is making them look a bit different. I love it. So again, round shape, roundedness, curves.
Like every, I just wanted, this is like art. Like, I love it. Like there's something about
this. This room really comes alive at night and that's the vibe we want it. We want it to feel
very cosy, very warm. So we have these lamps here. They're just temporary lamps. I have got
a sunset light that we have in that corner. I mean, you won't be able to really see what
it's up to. It's like that kind of light. Can you see that? Can you see that? I don't know
if you can really see that. My plan is to have one there behind something you're going to see
in a second and have one again somewhere in this corner. But we'll talk about that in a second
because we've got a whole lamp coming for that. We want lots of lamps everywhere basically. We
are not big light people. We are anti big light, anti big light corporation. We want lots of lamps
everywhere. So lamps are very important and you want something maybe a bit bigger,
a bit more of a statement because other lamps we kind of plan on like hiding or like creating
pockets of light, right? But your bedside lamps, you kind of want to be bigger. I don't know if
I'm going to regret this because they are, they're a statement. We were all so happy that day.
It's, it's actually hard to even imagine how terrible things would soon become.
Okay, bad news. Um, our lamp has broken. So I'm not going to show you that now. I'm going to go
check out the other one and see if that is broken as well because that's not good. Um, that's sad.
Oh no. Okay. I'm going to sort that out. I'm going to sort that out. Let me go. I gotta go figure
this ---- out. Okay. However, let me go show you the piece de resistance that I am so happy with.
Let's go. Okay. We're storing it in here before we put it up. Are you ready? Look at this mirror.
I'm in love. I'm sorry. Look at it, look at it, look at it. But she's beautiful. I am in love.
This mirror is from William Wood Mirrors and it's the R curve. I'm so sorry, but I am obsessed.
I can't wait. So we're going to fit this today. Look at it. I love the curves. Look at the shape.
Oh, it's so beautiful. It's like, it's, it's kind of a start. I'm really, really in love with it.
So we're going to fit that today. We're going to fit the knobs today. Maybe the ceiling light,
not the lamp because it's broken. But anyways, I'll show you some of the process of us fitting them.
Well, hello friends. How are we all doing? The bedroom is finished. Basically it is as finished
as it's going to be for a while. So I thought I would end this video here. I'm going to switch
cameras in a sec and take you around and show you some details in particular, but I am so happy with
how it's turned out on the whole. I love this room. I love like all the decisions that we've made.
It's such a lovely room to be in. It feels, I'm glad that we went with the cozy vibe because it
definitely feels like a room that's like cozy and comforting and warm and inviting. But like I say,
it's not 100% done because we'll probably get some artwork to go either side of the mirror
eventually, but I don't want to rush that decision. I haven't found any art yet that I feel
like is perfect for this space. And I do want to get some plants. Eventually we have like a cactus
in here. We have a cactus pot. That's the extent of our plants right now. But those decisions are
ones that I want to make over time when I find things that I really like. I don't want to rush
them. So shall we switch cameras? And I will take a little tour of the details and yeah,
show you what the bedrooms ended up looking like. Okay. As we walk in, first of all, I love the paint
colors of the wardrobe. I love the way the wardrobes look. I feel like they look like completely new,
brand new. They looked kind of rough. I feel like when we first moved in, a little bit worn,
a little bit patchy, but I feel like they look like they are brand new, uh, built-in wardrobe.
So I'm so happy with those. Here is the mirror. Hello. I love the mirror. I love it. Again,
this is from William Wood. It's like my favorite thing in the world. I love it so much. I just
think it just looks so luxe and such good quality. So yeah, super happy with that. Our bedding,
this is some of the green, I guess we've got. Um, this is from John Lewis. Again,
the bed was from Dusk. I want more green in the room. Here's the thing. We did purchase a rug for
this room. We did purchase a rug. I would put a clip in. I filmed quickly what it looked like,
but it wasn't big enough. We measured it wrong and it was the largest size that rug came in
and we returned it. And I got thinking like, you know, this is a super king bed in terms of size.
And in order to get a rug that's big enough to kind of like fill under the bed and come out,
you're going to be spending for like the quality we want, the style we want 500,
600 pound for a rug that is almost entirely covered up by the bed. So I'd like to know
your thoughts. Do I want a rug? Do I need a rug or not? Um, because I did, we loved the rug. We
loved the visual of it, but it just wasn't big enough. If they could make that in like one size
I probably would get it. But again, you are spending a lot of money on a rug that is mostly
covered, but yeah, I love the green of our bed. Everyone say hi to Scully. That's currently her
spot. We call it the Scully spot. That's where she sleeps. Um, bedside tables were from M&S.
These lamps are new. I haven't shown you these yet. The ones that we originally purchased kept
arriving smashed. So I returned them and we got this, I think from Habitat at Argos and I really
love them. It's such a warm orange glow in the evenings. This TV we actually got for free and
is broken. So that's just a placeholder. We will eventually get a TV for here or like a monitor
maybe that we can just connect to our laptop because we're not big TV watchers. We tend to
just watch stuff on our laptop. So yeah. And then what else have we got? Oh, we've got this lamp over
here. Tom found this lamp. It was from like a, uh, independent designer carpenter guy, but we love it.
I think it's such a great statement piece to have in this corner. I really, really love it. I think
it's beautiful and super cool as well. And I feel like it goes, you know, tonally with the wall and
everything. I really, really like it. Also just a quick shout out to my laundry basket. I love this
laundry basket. It's from Joseph and Joseph. It comes with two sections. You can also get a three
one, but I only need a two and it makes sorting laundry much easier. So I love that. But yeah, I'm
just super happy with the bedroom. I love it. Oh, and we've got the lampshade. Where was that from?
I honestly couldn't tell you. Next? Maybe? I feel like. But I love the shape that it, uh, puts on the
ceiling of the light. So there we have it. That is my bedroom. Let me know what you think of our design
choices. Like I say, not 100% finished, but I wanted to get the studio out to you and I don't
want to rush some of those last decisions. Also, I feel like this bedroom comes alive at night.
So let me put a few clips of it in the evening at night and you can see the cozy vibes. I'll just
put it to some music and then I'll come back in to say goodbye. So yeah, I hope you agree that it's
beautiful and cozy and warm and lovely at night. I love it. I love the room. I think we made great
choices. I love the door, the door handles, the wardrobe door handles. They're from
plank hardware. I'm trying to remember where everything is from now. But yeah, I hope you
enjoyed watching this video of us taking the bedroom from beginning to end. I'm super happy
with how it's turned out. We're about to start on the living room and that'll be quite a long
process because we've got to buy like sofas and stuff. That's expensive. But let me know if you'd
be interested. Also, I'm so happy I can now film in here more because I've been trying to kind of
like hide it. But now we can film in this beautiful room because it's like one of the most done rooms
in the house really. Also, I guess the office is pretty, is getting there now and I'm starting to
furnish that now as well. So big plans, big plans. I love you so much. I hope you had fun watching
this video and I'll see you very soon in another one. Skully, say bye. Say bye, Skully. Whoa.
Okay, I'll see you soon, friends. Bye!
