Howdy everybody, thanks for checking back in with me. In this video I wanted to share a few thoughts
about my next big endeavor. It's probably not going to be that surprising to some of you who
follow me for a little bit. As you know I'm a practicing dentist here at Baldwin Family Smiles.
I'm currently partnered with Lumio Dental. I have in the past partnered with Pacific Dental
Services and then I was with a group called Core Dental in Kansas City. Before that I had my own
little group of practices in Liberty and Independence, Missouri. Grew up in Kansas City,
was born out west, had a lot of adventures over the last 20 years of dental practice moving
from Kansas City to Albuquerque and then out here to St. Louis where we've been for
about nine years. But I wanted to share with you a little bit about what's going on in my life.
As some of you know I've been public speaking for quite some time. I've been sharing some
thoughts and messages on social media here on YouTube, on Instagram and Facebook.
I have found personally that for me what's most fulfilling is if I can share what is of impact to
me and what I've found to be useful in my personal life and I'd like to continue doing that going
forward. I really enjoy the opportunity to again to provide impact and influence in a positive way
to help others learn and grow, make steps to improve their lives and to move forward toward
a better version of themselves. I don't have all the answers. I don't have probably very many of
the answers but I've got some unique experience that I think gives me an interesting perspective
that when considered together in one's individual life experience can be helpful and rewarding.
So some of you have heard me lecture or speak or present about the idea that we first
want normally most of us want to have things and stuff or we want to have you know this
rewarding feeling. We want to have fulfillment. We want to have a bunch of money in the bank.
We want to have whatever whatever you know insert whatever you're interested in having
and there's nothing wrong with wanting to have and then we say to ourselves after we have all
these things then I will do these things that I would do if I had these things. Like if I had
a bunch of money I could go do service. I could go you know on vacation. I could go travel the world.
I could go help other people or whatever you want to do. After having this I can now do this
and then that would make me I would be happy or be fulfilled or be of use to other people.
So I've talked about this before for those of you who followed me on the channel here
you know that for me I've always considered that to be exactly the opposite. So I'm going
to write this down. We feel like we have to first have which will then lead us to do
which will then lead us then to be something. So be is the end result of having and doing
when in reality I think it should be exactly the opposite. I think first and foremost we need to be
which will then lead us to do which will then allow us to have.
Right so be first and then do which will allow us then to have or enjoy or to capture or to
experience. So that's what I want to share with you briefly. My next
endeavor here on Teachable and Udemy and on YouTube and on my Instagram and my Facebook
is really going to be sharing thoughts, experiences,
a course if you will that I've designed and I've been writing over the past few years
that helps to elucidate this concept where we first have to be. And this being over here
really involves discovering and uncovering who we already are. Each of us comes to earth if you
will with a unique set of individual abilities and skills and capabilities from an eternal
identity. And that our first step then is discovering who or what we actually are.
Uncovering, unmasking ourselves, our eternal selves if you will. Once we come to understand
what unique set of skills we have, what talents and abilities we're blessed with,
then we use those things. We do what we should be doing based on who we are,
our skill set, our unique set of talents. And that in turn will lead to the having or the enjoying,
the experiencing, which for most of us we're looking for peace and fulfillment, right? Happiness,
peace, fulfillment, joy, you know those are the things that most of us really aim for.
So instead of feeling like we need to have something, you know have a bunch of money or a
big car or a big house or a big good job or whatever, the first thing we need to start with
is being. And for me being is uncovering. And it's interesting because it's also kind of a process of
creating. So my next big endeavor that I'm going to be working on over the next few months or years,
hopefully just a few weeks or months, is going to be creating the content or rather
sharing the content with you that I've already created in video form, not only here but on other
venues that's helpful. And I plan to use my individual experiences to help share. Of course
that's what we do here, right? Share experiences, unique individual experiences. But also I'm going
to draw on experiences that others may have had. We can learn from other people's experience.
Experiences and you know try to use some metaphors, some interesting allegory.
I tend to be pretty conservative in nature when it comes to political leanings and religious leanings
as it were. This isn't intended to be political or religious. This is me sharing my thoughts,
opinions, and feelings. Of course you'll come to understand a little bit more about me as you
follow this naturally because you know we can't hide who we are and I don't think we should hide
who we are or what we believe in. But the purpose isn't to persuade or dissuade anyone to or from
anything. My purpose here is to share experience and knowledge with you that I've found really
helpful. I think some of the benefits here, wrapping it up, the benefits that I personally
want to be able to share with others is the recognition that we can all do things. Sometimes
the first step that we assume, again as I mentioned before, we assume that we you know must have
first, the x dot have here, we assume that we have to have first in order to be able to do. But in
reality the doing is what leads to the having. So that the doing you know hard working or saving
money leads to having a more stable retirement situation. The doing of service of you know those
things that are necessary to bless and uplift the lives of other people leads to the having of more
fulfillment, more peace, more joy in our lives. Those things I think are critical that we understand
that the doing can be done before the having and oftentimes is the cause of the having if you will.
Okay so I'm kind of talking in circles. So going forward you're going to see some content from me
along these lines. I hope it's valuable to you. Again it's not intended to create any persuasion
to do or to believe in any specific religion or political ideology or whatever you want to
say there. The purpose here is to just provide you with some insight that I've enjoyed over the last
decade or more as I've been working on this concept. So hopefully it's helpful. As I mentioned
I have done some public speaking and lots of teaching in the past. I really enjoy that.
So if there's something that I can do to benefit you, please don't hesitate to connect with me
directly or otherwise through the YouTube channel or any of my other Facebook, Instagram,
email. Call me at the office here in Baldwin, Missouri. We're always happy to see what we can
do to help. Thanks again for watching. If you will, like and subscribe and share with
those around you. We'll look forward to making more content for you. Thanks.
