2012 Fall Campout High Uintas Wilderness, Utah - Part 2

Heard as we rode back into base Orders have come through and you're shipping out Grab your gear, you're going home Things are not good back in the world She's holding on now but she doesn't have long Grab your gear, her time is near Just a matter of time Cause I'm coming from you Time is almost here All right, and just like that we're packed up Ready to move out But before we start the climb today Everybody's gonna have full bottles We'll try it I mean we did survive yesterday Thinking that you would be safe at home Now it's gone All right, so we actually just left camp But we're just above our camp Filling up water for the day Cause we're smart Just a minute You can have mine, Bunk, you want these? It's more for moral support Yeah Had to cross the stream a couple times Might witness a Missouri boat ride here Oh yeah Oh he's like a cat though Don't drop that whiskey boy Another successful crossing So today has been a much better hike than yesterday Just moving up from our second stream crossing This is beautiful country Enjoying every minute of this Some of the trails are a little soft Not the best to walk on But no complaints overall Over 10,000 feet Officially the highest we've ever been Ever, not even fall camp I've been to And We're going higher Well they say I'm kind of different And I never will fit in You know, I'm kind of stuck in my way In the town, when I go down I will raise a little hell along the way Yeah This is Deer Lake The trail was spectacular for a while But when she got steep It was written off this trail So we're at Deer Lake Right now I'm just waiting for Bonkin And Matt to come down the trail here Uh We foolishly hoped to get up here yesterday But After doing the hikes There was no way that would happen I was really optimistic So Uh, overall we've probably climbed Over 2,000 feet I guess We've still got another 1,000 feet tomorrow Which after this Doesn't seem too bad But Uh, we're hoping to push on from here But it Depends how these guys are doing They were right behind me but It's taking a bit to come down the trail They must be resting We're hoping to push on Maybe 2 more miles today Relatively flat, there might be a Hopefully maximum 300 foot gain Um, and then get closer to the Bluebell Pass Which we'll attack tomorrow and then Should be all uh Smooth sailing from there downhill Down to Yellowstone Creek so Having a good time Doing good so far so We'll see how she plays out Well we just left Deer Lake We're trying to push on to White Miller Lake Which We're saying is 2 miles Might be just under 2 About 300 foot gain Which After now we should be able to do But this elevation Is starting to take its toll It's having to stop more Even on relatively level ground But Look around though This is a beautiful trail It's a lot of fun Love this Yes sir So we stopped and Well we stopped twice today On the trail and rolled A game Matt's won them both So Good times though, good times This trail is kind of leveling out so Climbed well over 1000 feet today Climbed over 1000 feet yesterday And uh Don't know what day we'll do it But we've got 1000 more feet to climb Earning it this year This is White Miller Lake We earned it today This was a gimme We pushed hard We made it And it feels good And I said It was the pain That made she come We're supposed to see The reason for it all But you and I Spent all our wasted time Second night constructing our Campfire And you know It's all vets up here this year But it seems to happen Way too often But look at this Look at that Steve's in good company Look at this over here This ain't his first time like this He's just awake this time to say hello That's one difference End of day two Claimed this spot We're supposed to be The reason for it all But you and I Spent all our wasted time
