The discussions blend the logistical stresses of wedding planning—such as guest lists and venue selection—with heartfelt reflections on the timing of love and the joy of new beginnings at various stages of life.
This might be the best episode of Houseguest to date.
Oh, should we show them our rings?
Our first date was December and we're getting married in June, so...
Like I said, Maiga works quick.
I'm happier than I've ever been in my life.
Oh my god, I'm gonna cry, Maiga.
She's getting married this weekend, as you guys are listening to this episode.
Well, I never in a million years thought that I would ever be married again.
People are asking what your wedding is going to look like.
I'm Bridezilla.
When people are engaged and they expect someone else to not get engaged
or not get married because they're engaged,
I seriously think that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard in my life.
Just go for it.
If you meet somebody, go for it.
I see so many people that are so afraid.
They're afraid to get out.
They're afraid to meet people.
You don't have to go out and look for someone.
If it's right, it's gonna happen.
Hi, Houseguest.
Welcome to my home.
This might just be the most wholesome episode,
not even for Houseguest to date,
but that you've ever seen on the internet.
Maiga, my grandmother, you guys know her.
You love her.
She is the star of this show.
She came on last in Hard Launched Her Boyfriend.
Now, before that episode even had time to air,
the woman was engaged.
Maiga works fast, okay?
She's engaged.
Then I get engaged.
We're in our bridal eras together.
She's actually getting married this weekend.
And she's so busy.
She is the busiest woman in the world.
I had to book her glam.
I'm like, let me know what else you need.
She is just so, so, so busy.
And so we're just so glad and lucky
that she had time to come over today
and do a little bridal era, bridal moment episode.
You guys, when I say,
it is the sweetest thing I have ever seen.
It is just, oh my God, it is so good.
So without further ado,
let's welcome Maiga on to the show.
This might be the best episode of Houseguest to date.
I really think it might be, don't you?
Yes.
So Maiga, last time you were on,
well, first off, for people who are not watching on YouTube,
you should be watching because we look ridiculous right now.
I am wearing a veil and Maiga is wearing a bride sash.
And that is because we are sharing a bridal era.
Yes.
Did you ever see this coming in our future?
Never.
I didn't either.
I didn't see this coming either.
But life has a way of surprising you.
It sure does.
And this is, for me, totally surprise.
I think the best surprise yet.
I'm happier than I've ever been in my life.
Oh my God, I'm going to cry, Maiga.
It is just the time of my life.
It really is.
Maiga is just like beaming, glowing.
She's busy.
She's got things to do.
I'm giggling.
Yeah, you're giggling all the time.
You're really giddy.
That's the word I would use.
Yes.
I think we need to pick off before we're going to go,
because she's getting married this weekend,
as you guys are listening to this episode.
So before we even get into all the wedding planning and stuff,
which we've been doing off air,
we need to pick up where we left off last.
You hard-launched your boyfriend.
Oh, yes.
Didn't know what hard-launch meant, by the way.
Before the podcast even went live, they were engaged.
What a trip.
So please take us through, how did you guys get engaged?
Maybe you can do a little...
No, I guess you didn't even really say how you guys met.
So just take us through the story.
We met where I live in an active senior community.
It's basically a sorority house.
He moved there, too, and we had known each other four years ago.
He had lived there, and then he moved out.
And I was walking down the hallway, and I'm like,
Ken, and he's like, Maureen.
And we talked, and then we started dating, and then bam, bam, bam.
Bam, bam, bam.
So I called my daughter, and I said,
oh, I met somebody, and I just wanted to let you know that I'm really smitten.
And she's like, oh, Mom, I'm happy for you.
And then I called her two weeks later and said,
oh, I need to tell you, I'm engaged.
Yeah.
So from my point of view, too, I'd obviously known about this.
We see each other probably the most in the family,
because we do the same stuff.
She comes over here all the time.
We talk the most.
We also just have the same interest.
So we just...
Yes, needlepoint.
Yes, she's always here doing something, whatever.
So she was over.
I had known about this.
We also go to lunch together a lot.
So I had heard rumblings.
I did.
I had heard about this.
And then I went over one day,
because she was finishing some of my needlepoint projects,
and I was bringing more stuff over.
And we were filming.
We were vlogging some stuff.
And then she goes, is the camera off?
Which is so, I'm like, my gosh,
you would prefer the cameras to be on at all times.
So I was like, yeah.
And at first, when you asked that, I was like, is this going to be bad?
I'm like, am I in trouble?
Like, this is so not my go.
And then she goes, well, I would just like you to know that I am in love,
he is too.
I was like, oh my god, my god.
So obviously, we have a group chat.
All of us were texting.
I'm like, have you guys heard this?
Like, what's happening?
It's like me, Maddie, Alexis, which are like my two sisters and my mom.
And they're like, no, she is smitten.
This is so crazy.
And then mom had met him briefly,
because you had dropped her off or something like that.
He came out of the car.
It was a very brief meeting.
Yeah, very brief.
And then that day, so she had already told me that.
I think it was in the same time I was over.
I don't think I was over a different day when this happened,
when he came over.
I'm pretty sure it was the same day.
I don't remember.
It could have been a different day, but I'm pretty sure it was the same one.
There's a knock on the door.
And he comes down.
It was actually the sweetest thing ever.
He was taking her to a gala or some sort.
Yes, we were going to a gala.
Yes.
And so she was talking about what she's going to wear and all this stuff
and how excited she was.
And she didn't know what the dress code was
and all the things that happen when you go to a gala.
And then he comes downstairs, guys,
and he had printed out the dress code.
And then he had also...
He's like, well, I had called three different people
and this is what they...
And he wrote it down, what they were wearing.
And then he printed out the dress code.
I was like, I'm actually going to stop.
So I was in the other room.
She's in the sewing room and I'm in the sewing room.
I'm just trying to eavesdrop, obviously.
And I'm like, this is crazy.
I'm texting in the sister chat.
I'm like, you guys will never believe this.
He's here right now.
I'm like, this is insane.
And it was just so cute.
I've never seen you so giddy.
It's insane.
Yeah, and then he left and you go,
Myga, you were giddy.
No, I was like, Myga, oh my God.
It felt like you were like a middle schooler
with a crush flirting.
Like that's what it was, both of you.
Like that really is what it was.
It was really cute.
But our first date was December
and we're getting married in June.
So like I said, Myga works quick.
We were wondering the timeline,
but we weren't going to ask.
I couldn't remember.
That's what I kept asking Charlie.
Charlie and I were like, were they dating at Christmas?
Like I couldn't remember.
It was all a blur.
Our first day was June 17th or January 17th in December.
Yeah, so it's perfect.
When you know, you know.
Exactly.
When you know, you know.
So then tell us about how you guys got engaged.
Well, he just one day said, I'd like to marry you.
And I'm like, I'd like to marry you.
And that was it.
We just said, okay, not much more.
And then we started talking about it.
And then we started making plans.
And we planned a reception and a wedding at our church.
And we do go to church together.
But sometimes right now, I think we should have just eloped.
And don't they all?
Don't they all?
Everyone will say that when you're planning a wedding.
Yes.
You're so many little details and things to do.
But no, we're both really excited.
And, you know, all of our friends,
we have three sets of friends.
We have our family, of course.
You know, daughter, grandchildren, great-grandchildren.
Then we have our church group and our life group.
And then we have our, where we live, that set of group.
And they're all three different families.
What she's trying to say, she's very popular.
You know, she's very popular.
She has a lot of people to invite.
No, we assumed you guys were just going to elope.
Because that's kind of what it sounded like at first.
I mean, she's like, oh, no, a wedding in a church.
So then I have to make calls.
And I said, they're getting married in a church, guys.
I said, no, a little bit.
It's a real wedding.
I said, it's happening.
It is happening.
Also, guys, if you haven't seen the video,
we will repost it this week.
We posted it after Micah had come on
and hard launched her boyfriend.
And then I said, guys, just kidding, she's engaged.
And there is a video of her fiance.
And he goes and he gets, it's a white rose every week, right?
It's a white rose every week.
A white rose every week in the women at the flower shop.
I guess they take videos of people.
Yes.
And it's the sweetest video you've ever seen.
We will be reposting it this week.
And you will cry.
Like, it is the cutest thing.
And he's so, he's literally here.
He's probably can hear.
But he's so cute with the kids.
Oh.
It's like insane.
And there are like my niece and nephew.
I mean, Mateo's three.
So he's not like the most wild kid that's ever existed.
But he's a young boy.
Like he has energy.
He's a boy.
Yeah.
And he just, it's so sweet.
Oh, Sophie, my niece is the flower girl.
And she calls me after she books that job.
I mean, this girl's booking jobs left and right.
She just got off the heels of being Matt's flower girl.
When she found out she's not gonna be mine.
She was devastated.
She will be a junior bridesmaid.
So she'll survive.
It's a better, it's a better gig for her.
We're calling her a flower girl.
Yeah.
She's a flower girl and she's really excited.
She said, I'm very busy.
And a lot of people want my services.
And then her brother, Mateo, is going to be a ring bear.
Oh my God.
And then Ken's grandson, great-grandson, who's the same age as Mateo,
is also going to be a ring bear.
And they're both going to walk down together.
We hope.
Yeah.
That age, you never know.
Sophie's a good leader.
Yes.
Because it's Maddie's, her other niece's young one.
Yes.
And she just, she leads the way.
It'll be good.
She'll be fine.
I don't have no doubt.
So should we talk about what you're wearing?
Yes.
Please tell the story because she just picked it up.
Apparently she has bought five dresses.
I bought four dresses and I was, I like one of them, but I was not like, oh, I was just like,
and it was white.
I didn't want white.
I wanted a creamy and I'm going to wear cowboy boots.
So I needed to get a new pair.
And we went to the store and I'm trying on all these boots.
I've got boots everywhere.
And Ken comes over and says, what do you think of this dress?
And I was just like, that's exactly what I pictured.
Perfect.
Exactly.
All lace, but a big ruffle, you know, kind of a ruffle around the bottom and big, um,
what do you call them?
Exactly what I would have pictured for you.
Yes.
Exactly what.
Are you guys doing a registry?
The meeting to ask you this.
We haven't.
I'm sure you'll be sending me a direct link.
There will be something.
Because people keep asking me and I'm like, look, guys, she normally just tells me.
I don't, I don't know.
I can't help you.
It's like, I really don't know.
I said, I'll, I'll ask.
I know.
Like today I said, Hey, do you remember that you told me I can have a pair of your sunglasses?
I don't know if I said that.
Did I?
You did.
Yeah.
I mean, I'm sure I did, but I can start seeing people.
I just believe whatever.
I'm like, totally fine.
Also, I do have a really nice pair of cream, like white boots.
If you want them to wear it for the wedding.
I'm wearing brown boots.
Okay.
We're in brown boots.
You know what you want?
I put it on this morning and I like it and I'm ready.
That's it.
Oh, she's also getting Kristen Perry glam.
That is, I mean, she has done the, she's done celebrities.
So like you are getting a full, a full experience.
I'm really happy about what I'm wearing.
And the only thing is I, I have pearls that I really like, but they're too long.
And I'm going to go see this week if I can get them shortened.
I have your other pearls for Maddie's wedding too.
Oh, okay.
You want to try those?
Because that's a shorter one.
I can't do white.
It has to be cream.
I think they are cream, right?
Okay.
I'll look at them.
Yeah, we can look.
They're yours.
I gave Melissa a pair.
Gave you a pair.
I know.
Well, apparently mom said that the ones that I would love so much, she took.
She took.
She goes, Kinsey would love them.
I'll take them.
I said, oh, thank you so much.
Hi y'all.
I'm really excited because a friend of mine, my home and hobby brand is hitting the road
this summer.
We are doing a summer stitch tour and we are popping up in five of our favorite cities
and we are doing exclusive canvases.
Some of our core collections, some of our just like normal friend of mine, core products.
We're going to be hanging out stitching.
We'll have like, depending on the venue, we're going to have like coffee carts, hopefully,
and all of the different things.
It's going to be so much fun.
And I cannot wait.
I need to give you guys the schedule.
I like do have it memorized, but like, I can't lead you guys astray.
Okay.
If you are coming, please RSVP at shopfriendofmine.com under stitch tour.
It is completely free to come.
It just helps us a lot if we have a general idea of the amount of people coming to like
run a better event.
So, so the first stop is in Dallas, Texas, of course, on June 27th at Mimi's Needlepoint.
Our next stop is in Nashville on July 11th at Nashville Needleworks.
The next stop is in Chicago on July 25th at Third Coast Stitches.
Then we have our Nantucket stop on August 8th at Erica Wilson, which is like so insane.
And last but not least, we have August 29th at Penny Lynn in Roatan, Connecticut.
We are so excited.
Like the canvases, I'm sure you guys have seen these on our Instagram at shopfriendofmine.
They're so cute.
They're so perfect.
If you're not even into Needlepoint, totally fine.
Like we will have so many other things happening and just like, it's a fun hang.
So anyways, if you guys are in the area, please come.
You guys make sure you RSVP.
Once you RSVP, we're also able to send you text updates and all the things about the
events.
But anyway, I hope you guys come.
I'm really, really excited.
Oh, can we talk about your ring?
Because this is the first time I've seen the ring.
Yes.
I love it.
Like, tell us the story.
Here's my ring.
And I had told Ken, no ring, just a band.
I love it.
So he picked it out.
He did a great job.
You didn't even say anything.
He did it all on his own.
He did.
Micah, that's an incredible ring.
You had no, you, I designed this thing.
This is all my blood sweat and tears.
That's crazy.
He just picked that out.
Oh my God.
He knows what I like.
Wow.
So.
Charlie's like that with me too.
Charlie has great taste because he bases it off what he knows I would like.
And he picked out my wedding dress.
I know.
I mean.
We love him and it's great taste.
Oh my gosh.
Don't you feel like they kind of remind you of each other?
I feel like Charlie is a younger version of him.
Yes.
Like when you guys are looking around Charlie, every time I do any needlepoint project,
or I'll do two stitches, he's like, wow, that's amazing.
He's so into it.
Or like even today, he's like, show her the gingham.
Like, he's so excited about every single thing that I do.
And he's the same way.
He is too.
They just admire.
And my girl, of course, anytime she brings anyone over here, they're like bopping around
all the projects that she's done.
She's like, and then over here, you know, it's like her art gallery.
She did that one.
So I thought we could take a little quiz to see what kind of brides we are.
Okay.
So I sent you that link.
Okay.
It's a BuzzFeed quiz titled, what type of bride are you?
And we're just going to see.
Okay.
Number one, choose a wedding venue.
Now we're moving on to choose a dress.
I have no idea what I want for a wedding dress.
Something like really classic.
Just like classic.
You know, now we're choosing a bouquet.
Moving on.
What table setting do you like?
Oh, this is going to be huge for me.
Pick a romantic movie.
It's a Titanic, A Star is Born, If Beale Street Could Talk, The Notebook, Pride and Prejudice,
Dirty Dancing.
I think we're going to do The Notebook.
One thing, I love a uriner, just not in my actual life.
For me, The Notebook.
Yeah, that's what I chose.
Now we're choosing a cake.
Choose a song that will definitely be on your wedding playlist.
I want to dance with somebody by Whitney Houston.
I'm Bridezilla.
Oh no.
I'm a type A bride.
You're Bridezilla.
Oh my gosh.
No, I'm not.
I am so glad we did that quiz.
Megha, you need to know about this burgundy chartreuse trend that's happening right now.
For the brides?
For the brides, it's happening.
It's everywhere.
I know.
And it's-
Wow.
Not for me.
It's not happening for you.
Well, it's everywhere.
And everyone's saying that it's like the 2026 or 2025 thing.
And they're saying that that's going to be like the 2026 markers.
So I guess there's a lot of drama around this.
I hope you're not going that route.
Well, of course I'm not.
But everyone is like really-
I actually, it sounds worse than it looks.
If you saw it, you would be like, oh, okay.
It sounds like Barney, but it's not.
It's not.
Like if it's done well, it's like chic.
It's not what you think it is.
But they're like really-
Everyone's obsessed with having this timeless wedding
and like not having it look like it was from the year that it was.
But I'm like, but you got married the year that it was at the same-
Like, you know what I'm saying?
They don't want to look like a bride.
No, they want to look like a bride.
But they don't want their wedding to look like it was done in the year that it was done.
They want it to just be like timeless, which I understand.
But at the end of the day, there's always going to be markers of it.
You know, in the early 2000s, it was like a farmhouse mason jar wedding.
And you can look at that and know that you got married in 2010.
People are not liking that these days.
And they're driving themselves mad for it.
Me, on the other hand, I'm going to, you know, whatever.
I'm thinking we're going to do a destination, but in the States.
I heard that.
So don't be stressed.
I heard that.
And I'm thinking Charleston or Savannah.
Okay.
And you don't like that idea, do you?
No, I'm okay with it.
It's in the States.
Now, if it's out of the country.
I won't do that.
I wouldn't do that.
But yeah, don't worry.
I think I really want to because Maddie's wedding was so fun.
And my sister just got married in Greece.
And what was so fun specifically about her wedding, it was less of even being in Greece.
And it was more of everyone was together for like five days straight.
And that was fun because that's time you'll never get in any other.
No.
In any other time.
So that's why I'm like, no, I'm pretty set on doing destination.
Okay.
And I have signed my actually I need to sign today.
My planner.
That's the one thing I've done with my wedding.
Oh, okay.
How did you pick a planner?
I just have known her for years.
So I always knew I would use her.
But you might not look at me right now as I'm wearing a veil.
And this is my second podcast episode in a row about being engaged.
I'm not like I was never someone who grew up dreaming of getting married.
I did.
I wanted to get married and have a family and do those things.
But I've never like sat down.
When was I ever like talking about my wedding as a kid?
No.
Never.
So now I'm like, oh, I've got to like get to.
But I I'm decisive and I know what I like.
Yeah.
So I think that hopefully like I just have to, you know, figure out some things.
Yeah.
And we'll be good.
And what's your what's your dress?
What do you dream of your dress being?
I don't dream of a dress.
That's the problem.
That's what I'm saying.
You would think it's so up my alley to be obsessed with weddings and I'm just not.
Okay.
So I'm going to enter that era and it's going to be fun.
That's my thing.
I really want to enjoy planning a wedding and I don't want to be miserable doing it.
And I think.
It's a lot of work.
Yeah.
My wedding is very simple, but it was a lot of work.
I had no idea.
Yeah.
We're like exhausted and we can't wait for it to be over.
Yeah.
So we can just relax.
I I'm just I think I'm in like a very lucky position.
And I and I think like obviously having a planner will be a huge.
It will.
I know I will still be stressed out.
Like I know it will still be.
Because I we're having our reception at where we live.
And three of the girls offered to help.
And I said, please help me.
And they took over and they're doing.
And it took so much off of my shoulders.
And I'm like, they're like, what do you think of this?
And I'm like, love it.
It's perfect.
Perfect.
It's amazing.
Just do it.
Get it.
So.
You know what else we need to talk about this photo?
You guys might have seen it in my frame.
This, guys, I.
That was my other wedding.
Yeah.
This was Micah's wedding last year.
So I threw Micah a birthday party last year.
And we made it Elizabeth James themed from The Parent Trap.
So she owns a wedding shop.
And we did the whole thing.
We had Martin the butler come as a bartender.
It was everything.
It was wonderful.
She obviously came as a bride because she is the main character.
And look at her now.
Now, not even a full year later.
Who would have thought?
Not even a full year later.
If I had known, I'd have kept that dress.
I know.
Not even a full year later, you're going to be married.
And also, that was the week that I met Charlie.
And then I'm engaged.
You know, we were quick.
We were quick.
One thing about us, we're fast.
Well, I never in my a million years thought that I would ever be married again.
I know.
It's crazy.
But it's exciting.
I thought you would meet someone, but I didn't know if you would marry them.
Yeah.
And look at you now.
And look.
See, what an inspiring story for the youth.
Well, and I think, too, for people my age.
Yeah.
Don't think that life is over or that you can't meet somebody.
And just be open to that.
Don't count yourself out.
Don't.
You never know what's going to happen.
This time of year, my girl was single, and now she's going to be married.
And not even looking to get married.
I did want to meet somebody.
Yeah, you did want to meet someone.
I did want a partner.
But even then, you were like, I'm not even saying I need to get married.
I don't think I'll ever get married.
But it would be nice to have companionship.
Because we were the single ones in the family.
That's another reason we were always together, because we were the two singles.
Yeah, it's true.
So we were always together, because we also weren't with anyone else anyway.
They would sit us at the table together.
Yeah.
Like, it was Maga and I.
They put us at the end.
Yeah, we were the singles.
They were like, bye, everyone.
It was like Maga and I against the world, you know?
It really couldn't be better timing for this to have all happened.
It is.
It is such great timing.
OK, I need to pull up some questions.
Because obviously, the listeners are, one, very happy for you.
I hope you've been reading these comments, because they're very sweet.
People are asking, are you going to do anything together?
Bridal showers, bachelorettes, weddings?
Love you so much.
Here's the thing about Maga getting married quick.
The only thing that's unfortunate, that I think we can still do a shower after the fact.
Like, I still want to do that.
Because I had this dream of throwing her a bridal shower bachelorette in one.
But it would be, like, funny at the end.
And we would do, like, bachelorette stuff.
But my sister just got married.
So we've all been in Greece.
And then we're all gone.
So, like, there was literally not a single time that people would be.
There is no time.
And then her shower, her wedding.
Yeah, she had so many events, of course.
And then, like, this happened.
So we didn't have.
And you got engaged.
And, like, your engagement was a short period of time anyway.
So we haven't had that time.
And then I booked my wedding one month after Maddie's.
Yes.
And then we were all traveling.
Maddie was traveling.
I was getting engaged one of those weekends.
Like, so it just basically took up all the time.
But I would like to do.
I would like to do, like, a bridal shower bachelorette.
Like, for you.
Like, not for me.
People are asking, what was something you did not expect?
The whole thing.
To fall in love like I have.
I just never expected that.
I know.
The most wonderful man ever.
A good Christian.
We go to church together.
I mean, just everything, like, just fell into place.
What is the thing you are most looking forward to in this season?
We're going to be traveling.
We're going to go on some trips together.
I'm really looking forward to that.
Because this is the craziest thing.
Living in Texas for 26 years.
I've never been anywhere in Texas except Fort Worth.
Wait.
Oh, yeah.
I've never traveled.
I've never been to San Antonio.
I tell people that and they're like, what?
Well, you know, I really want us to go to Round Top for the antique show.
Yes.
That would be fun for us to do.
Like, you, like, Tim and Kim, like, we could do the Mango because they would like that
because there's fun stuff for them, too.
We could go shopping.
We should do that.
I'm so down for that.
So we're going to travel together.
We've already planned a trip to Santa Fe in September.
See, he's getting you out on the town.
We couldn't get you to do anything.
I like this.
And he's, like, 10 years older than you.
And he's, like, he's out and doing all this stuff.
I'm like, yeah, good.
Very active.
Yeah, he's very active.
He also looks, like, 20 years younger than he is.
Oh, yes.
It's so crazy.
Very active.
He's very active.
Oh, people are asking about pressure on brides at different ages.
Do you feel pressure?
Pressure about what?
I don't know.
I think, like, just during your bridal season, maybe, like, wedding.
Pressure there of getting everything done and getting everything planned.
And we just finally, two weeks, have made the decision on food.
Yeah.
So that was kind of the last thing on our list.
But, yeah, there's pressure.
And did you have any drama with your guest list?
Like, were you guys, like, oh, I want to invite this person.
I don't want to invite this person.
No, no.
We agreed on everybody to invite.
We had to cut down.
But the place where we live, we're doing another reception a week later so that we can invite
everybody in our community.
And then we're providing, it's for a happy hour.
And we're providing the food for that.
And so everybody where we live will be invited.
We also, she's got some influencer perks happening right now for her because Aveline's sending
wine for her wedding.
I mean, she's got something.
And then, you know, Kristen Ferraglam.
Like, you've got some good connects.
You really do.
It's been going on for a while.
Yeah, see, I feel like the pressure on brides at different ages, like, for me, I already
can tell you right now it's going to be a guest list.
Like, I already know that's the problem.
Because there's people who will, like, text you and be like, can't wait for the wedding.
And I'm like, we haven't spoken in seven years.
Like, that haven't, I'm like, thank you so much.
But like, I would never put that on someone.
One person where I live, who's I'm not real close to, friends, but she goes, well, I want
to be invited to the wedding.
Yeah.
So I did.
But yeah, you know, there are some pressures that you're like, trying to keep the list
down and the cost down.
Mine will be invite list.
And it's not that, like, Charlie and I don't agree.
It's actually not us.
No, but you can't invite everybody.
No, you can't.
Yeah.
Yeah, it's also so interesting because, like, I think the differences with ages is that
the way that your family dynamics are probably play way less of a role.
And that with me, I'm like, well, that's not how my family does stuff.
Like, I don't do it that way.
You know what I mean?
But like with you, it's like, well, you are the one who made your family.
So it's, you know what I'm saying?
It's yeah.
Like, that is different.
Like, there's not like the in-law aspect or whatever.
And like, we're very lucky with our in-laws.
But like, you know, like that aspect of it is very different.
Yeah.
Okay.
When did each of you know that you met your husband?
I knew, like, pretty much right away.
I met Charlie.
We went on our first date.
And then within 24 hours, I just had the, I just had a gut feeling.
I found, he doesn't have any Instagram or any social media.
So we found his mom's Instagram and then we found videos of him.
And I was like, yeah.
And then the second date, I was like, yeah, that's it.
I just knew.
We both knew right away.
Yeah.
I don't know that we knew marriage right away,
but we knew we were going to be together just right away.
Yeah.
That's how I just like knew.
Like the first date, it was only an hour.
And I was so present because it was so great.
I didn't even realize how good it was in the moment, you know?
And then I left.
And then over the next 24 hours, I was like, wait, it just like clicked to me.
Okay.
People are asking what your wedding is going to look like.
We're going to get married in the church.
And our life group teacher is going to marry us.
He's also a preacher.
And, you know, our life group will be there.
I'm shocked you didn't want Maddie to get ordained or something and marry you.
She'd love that.
She could pull up there, smoke a joint.
That'd be great.
I mean, it would be a show.
But we're getting married in the church.
And then it's only going to be like a half hour ceremony.
And then we'll go to.
Are you doing any like florals or anything?
You talking about the white roses?
Yes.
And the theme of everything is white roses because he brings me a white rose every week.
And I love them.
We'll have some flowers at the where we get married.
It's on the bottom floor.
And then there's like a stage.
We're going to have flowers up there and maybe some decorations and
a table outside with the guest book.
Really simple.
And then when we go to artistry, it's very simple.
We're putting tablecloths on the tables.
We were going to rent them and rent chairs.
And we're like, eh, that's too much trouble.
So we're just doing what's there.
Yeah.
And the girls have ordered tablecloths and they're decorating everything.
So I'm sure they're having a ball.
They are.
They're just they send me text.
What do you think of this?
Go for it.
I just can't get over you being bridezilla.
I can't believe I was bridezilla.
Come on.
People keep asking why you were at the engagement surprise party.
It's because they had a friend in town to meet her specifically.
So that is why they could not attend.
Yes.
Have you started planning?
Yes.
Oh, yeah.
Did you know I was getting engaged at the time that you got engaged?
No.
Like whenever I was getting engaged, did you already know that we were getting engaged?
I knew you were getting married.
I knew that you were getting married in 27.
So I assumed the engagement was coming.
It would happen.
But yeah.
Well, I don't know that I'm getting married in 27.
And I didn't want to step on anybody's, you know, like.
Oh, no, no, no.
My God, that would never be a thing ever.
Ever.
So I waited till Maddie was married first before we started.
Maddie would never care.
Like, no, I know you guys would.
Neither one of us are like that at all.
I actually think that that's the craziest thing ever.
When people are engaged.
We're talking about when people are engaged and they expect someone else to not get engaged
or not get married because they're engaged.
I seriously think that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard in my life.
And the most, like, self-obsessed.
So anyway.
But yeah, I knew you were.
Obsessed.
Self-obsessed.
Okay.
A lot of the questions are the same.
What made Myga say yes?
Because I was in love.
It was love.
I was in love.
I was like, this is the man I want to spend my life with.
People really want us to do a joint bachelorette.
Myga wouldn't even go on a bachelorette anyways, guys.
They're like, how do you see your marriage celebration staying the same?
I think they mean our stuff being the same versus how they'll differ.
Mine will just be a destination.
It'll be a bigger wedding.
Yes.
More people.
Mine will be smaller and more simple.
But kind of the same.
Yeah.
It's all the same at the end of the day.
Yeah.
It's so exciting.
What do you both care most about for your wedding?
Just my family being there.
Yeah, same.
That's the most important thing is that my family and my friends are all there.
I want mine to feel intimate.
Even though I will have to have a lot of people,
I still want everyone to feel like they were a part of it,
and it was very sweet and wholesome.
I don't want it to...
I want it to feel intimate and cozy, if that makes sense.
I almost want it to feel like people just came over to my house.
Yes.
You know?
It's like everything's falling into place.
I wanted a singer, so I asked my friend Sandy.
Her granddaughter is a singer.
She sings at a church down in Fort Worth.
And she called back and said, I would love to.
And then I know nothing about music.
So they said, go on Spotify, go on Spotify.
And there's a song right there.
I listened to it and I'm like, well, that's it.
What song is it?
It's called A Love Yet Unseen.
And it's by a lady named S-V-A-E-R-D.
Do you have any playlists for After the Fact?
Or do I need to take care of that?
Anyway, Shawn and Kim.
Kim's one of them that's helping take care of everything.
And Shawn's taking care of the music.
And it's going to be stringed music.
Annie is going to sing there maybe two or three songs,
because everyone knows her daughter, Sandy's daughter.
And they're excited about not just my wedding,
but hearing Annie sing.
This is the sweetest thing I've ever heard in my life.
What else do you need from me?
We're close.
We've got a couple weeks from now.
I don't even know anymore.
I think everything's taken care of.
You're going to have his book?
I asked your mom today if she would drive Ken and I to the wedding.
Sweet.
Because we don't want to drive ourselves.
We should get you a limo.
I'm going to find one of those.
Do they even have limos anymore?
I don't know.
I think it's just Uber.
Yeah, I don't think that limos exist.
So I just have to, the only thing I have to do is change my hair appointment.
Okay, we can do that.
Move that up and then I'm ready.
We're ready to go.
Wow, this is just going to be so perfect.
Do you have a photographer?
Do you want a photographer?
I do.
George that was at Maddie's wedding.
Oh yeah.
We hired him.
Wow.
It's like I can't think of anything else that we haven't taken care of.
I'm sure little things will pop up.
Wow.
But right now we've...
It's crazy.
And it's for two celebrations.
So we did the same thing at the second one.
We did the same food.
We did the same wine.
Everything the same.
So it makes it easy.
Do you have any words of encouragement or anything you want to leave the houseguests with
who are so happy for you?
They're over the moon.
They might have been happier for you than me.
I actually think that they were, for a fact.
Just go for it.
If you meet somebody, go for it.
I see so many people that are so afraid.
They're afraid to get out.
They're afraid to meet people.
Some of the girls talk about how they would never get married.
They would never.
And I'm like, oh, don't do that.
Leave it open.
And especially young girls too.
Be open to meeting someone.
I didn't look for anyone.
I think that's what made it really special too.
You don't have to go out and look for someone.
If it's right, it's going to happen.
So I know I always like with you.
It just happened.
I always think that with dating, like because a lot of the anything that any advice that
like I will give anyone, it's not because I know anything.
It's because that's the advice that was given to me that I followed, you know, but I think
that a lot with friends, I'm like at the end of the day, though, I really think it's just
going to happen when it's meant to happen, which is so annoying because you like, you
don't have as much, but in a way it's like you do because you can put yourself out there
and oh, people have been calling him Mr.
Miga as well.
That's his name is Mr.
Miga.
I like that a lot.
Do you think Mr.
Miga, what if just pitching this out for Valentine's Day, we did an episode with you, me, Charlie
and Mr.
Miga?
We'd love that.
Do you think we can get him on?
Oh, I think so.
We can book him.
He's not bashful.
I think we could do it.
He was on Instagram.
He killed it on camera.
He was meant to.
Charlie was saying that to him earlier.
He's like, you know, I thought the social media thing would be hard for me, but I can't
imagine for you like, and I'm like, honestly, they're both good on camera.
Yeah.
Oh, that'll be the best episode ever.
We're not bashful.
No.
Oh, and Mike loves camera.
That's why I was like, there's no way she's not a photographer.
Dumb question.
Okay.
Well, love you so much.
What a fun bridal era we've shared for two weeks.
Yes, we are having fun.
It's been so fun.
I'm so happy for you.
I'm so excited for your wedding.
And I am excited for yours.
It's going to be so good.
I know it's going to be fabulous.
It's going to be good.
Well, I do think if you're open to it, we do a bridal shower after that.
Okay.
Maybe that's what we do for your birthday party this year.
Okay.
Maybe we make it your bridal shower.
Okay.
And we just kind of, and it's like your bachelorette.
It's right around the corner.
We won't do anything tacky for the bachelorette.
Cause I hate that stuff.
You know, when they do those inappropriate things, you would.
Me too.
I would hate it.
You would hate it.
I cannot speak for Maddie.
Maddie's going to do what she wants to do, but just know if there's anything tacky,
it wasn't from me.
Anything you don't like, it was from Maddie.
Just know that.
No, she's been helping me.
No, she's so helpful, but you know, she's got some things in the back of her mind.
I can feel it from, you know, I can feel it.
I was actually saying that yesterday she texted me.
I was like, do you miss me?
And I was like, you know, funny enough, Alyssa and I have been talking about how much of a
pleasure you've been since getting back from that honeymoon.
We were talking yesterday and I'm like, God, she feels just so nice lately.
She is just, she is such a pleasure.
She is so entertaining.
She's very happy.
She's funny, wonderful man.
She is really, I'm loving that girl lately.
This is my sister.
We're really loving that diva.
That's what we said yesterday.
She goes, see, I knew I had to go.
I had a dream about you and Maddie not too long ago, several nights and in the dream.
Just us being besties.
Well, I was trying to find her in any way.
When I did, she'd gotten her haircut really crazy, crazy haircut.
I looked at you and I rolled my eyes and you were like, be nice, be nice.
She likes it.
That's all that matters.
Just be nice.
And I was like, okay.
Well, I normally am like that with us, her stuff.
Yes.
If anyone has anything to say, I'm like.
And Maddie, the hairdresser had a bad haircut, so.
It can happen to anyone.
All right, well, I think that about wraps up our bridal era.
I think we've covered everything.
I think so.
What a fun time.
Oh, should we show them our rings?
Okay, fabulous.
I mean, I cannot believe he put that on his own.
Like, wow, a man of great taste.
Great taste.
All right, well, love you so much.
Love you too.
Love you, house guests.
And I will talk to you next week.
Since you'll be posting pictures.
Oh, that's code for she wants me to post her wedding online.
I have got it.
I got your video.
Oh, I even got a really cool camcorder thing.
Oh.
That we could use.
I can show you the footage from my engagement party because Macy did some.
I will show you.
You're going to like it.
Okay.
It's just like old school.
So I could see you like not liking it because you would be like, why would I do that?
But you have to just understand and trust the vision.
Oh, yeah.
Just trust, you know.
You know, I'm good for it.
Okay.
Yeah, she's good for it.
She's good for the camera.
All right.
Love y'all.
Bye.
Okay, bye-bye.
