AI GeneratedThis guide teaches mature women how to apply concealer without adding years to their appearance. The focus is on deep hydration, strategic color correction, and using radiant, lightweight formulas instead of heavy matte products to prevent creasing and a \"masked\" effect, ensuring a natural and youthful finish.
Hey ladies, welcome back to my channel.
So I think this is a really important video for us as mature women.
When it comes to concealer, I have been noticing some things,
especially on film when I've been doing my concealer routine.
And I thought, you know what, I think I need to switch it up again.
So I'm going to be showing you things that have bothered me and my technique
that's going to really help you when it comes to different colors,
the right formulation, how to apply the color corrector,
all of the things to really make you feel confident.
Because I think underneath our eyes is one of our biggest challenges.
Are you ready? Let's get this beauty started.
Right. So we're going to get right into this application.
I want you to really dialed into your concealer, your issues,
whatever it is underneath your eyes was bags.
Is it discoloration? Is it all of the above?
We're going to do that.
But first and foremost, this is a non-negotiable.
You have to hydrate your under eyes as you are a mature woman.
Your skin gets thinner.
It's going to be very hard to have concealer look incredible
if you are going over dry, dehydrated eyes, flaky eyes.
Oh, I can't get enough moisture, Nicole.
I don't know what to do.
So I just skip it.
And I think that my concealer,
since it's supposed to be hydrating, is going to do the work. It's not.
So here are a couple of different options.
I've showed you the Clarins Double Serum Eye.
I've used the I think this is my third bottle.
I'm almost done with it.
I liked it because it's light and hydrating.
It's not heavy.
You shouldn't be using a very heavy eye cream
that doesn't absorb into your eyes and then it slips and slides.
And then you go and you try to put on your concealer
and it's like doing a lot of new tricks that you didn't want it to do.
I've also tried the Total Eye Lift from Clarins.
This is nice and lightweight.
Also, I've showed you my trick with Aquaphor.
If you want to stop the creasing, you can use this underneath first.
This is really nice and hydrating.
And you have a lot of control because it's a stick.
So you don't really over dispense per se.
And then I have the Renutrive Estee Lauder.
This is probably going to be your pricier one out of the three of the four
of them that I'm showing you here.
This is transformative eye serum, and it comes with a little
applicator that is magnet that sticks on it like that.
So this is nice.
It's going to be a nice serum, but be a little bit heavier for you,
depending on.
But why don't we just keep it drugstore today?
And just use a little Aquaphor underneath here.
So I'm going to hydrate just like this.
I'm going to do two swipes and then to really seal it in
while I do my eye primer, I'm going to use these bags or designer.
This is going to be your reusable silicone pads
that are going to just push that moisture into the eye.
So I can put these on for, you know, three, five minutes,
10 minutes, depending on.
Really nice because it's point has nowhere to go.
That moisture is just going to go into my eyes.
So with the title of this video, I want you to really understand
it's not about looking 10 years younger.
I'm not trying to take a 50 year old and make her 20 or 70 year old
and make you 30. I'm not doing that.
We don't want to age ourselves.
We love our age. We celebrate our age.
But we don't want to make ourselves look like we don't know what we're doing.
So that's basically where I'm going with.
It's aging you 10 years.
We want to really look the best that we can.
I'm using my eye primer right now.
It is going to be a creamy product that is going to lift
that pigmentation on my eyes.
I do not want to see this.
This is not something that I love.
So I very quickly and easily I'm able to lighten that.
My eyeshadow will stay true all day.
It's going to look like it's the right color out of the compact
because now I have just taken away all of this pigmentation.
You know, it's really nice about this, too, is that you can pull this
all the way up so it's right at the end.
So you have like a crease cut if you wanted to and you don't have to worry
about like going too far with your eyeshadow.
It's like a little trick you can do with these.
These with my little these bags are designer.
I'll pull them up a little bit like that so you can see.
I'm just going to take my late bottled one. Very simple.
This is like my everyday palette.
I'm going to just go into that middle color and we're going to just do
a little sweep of color on the lids.
This is a all sheen palette.
It's very natural.
It's what I like using every day.
Let's see how I can go here.
It's not going to go down too far.
So it kind of gives you a like a little kind of cheat sheet, if you will.
Just going to turn the brush over, go into the lightest color.
Just dust the the brow bone.
I'm going to take my short smudge brush, go into the darkest color,
and I'm going to just give some definition.
So these are really silky, but you can see how easily
they kind of just melt into each other.
They're gluten free, talc free.
It's just a really beautiful formulation.
I didn't want you to fight with your eyeshadows.
I wanted it to just really look natural.
You can build it up if you want to, but you can see this is just a very simple.
I'm putting it on.
I'm not doing too much.
I'm just, you know, concentrated on the outer corner here.
And then we're done.
All right. So we quickly put on the eyeshadow.
Now we're going to take off our little these bags or designer.
You just wash them with warm water, lay them to dry,
and then you can put them back into their little home, which is the tin.
So now I have a really nice hydration underneath my eyes.
My concealer is going to go on beautifully because I'm hydrated
underneath my eyes.
So we're going to just do just the final touches of the eye.
We're going to just lift my lashes with my eyelash curler,
and then we're going to put on mascara, a little eyeliner,
and then I'm going to meet you back here for the concealer.
All right. So mascaras on eyes are done.
Little liner, not a big deal.
So now we're going to do is we're going to look at what's happening
underneath the eyes.
So when you look at yourself in the mirror, you really want to say, OK,
I have this, you know, one my one eye is different than my other.
So I have like this pigmentation right here.
Not as much over here.
I've been really working on my texture.
It's an ongoing yearly thing, whether I've had things zapped off
at the dermatologist that were gross or I've been using retin-A
just to kind of smooth out this area.
So what you first have to do is you have to think about,
do I have really dark circles underneath my eyes
that my concealer is competing with?
It's turning into a gray muddiness when I put on my concealer.
That's very frustrating.
If you're doing that, I remember thinking,
why is my concealer not looking like the concealer color that I see here?
It's turning into this really like a puddly, like gray clay.
And I look terrible.
So what you want to do is you don't want to just put a concealer
over darkness, blues, purples, grays.
That's going to mix in with your concealer and you're going to get a new color.
So what you want to do is you want to lift that first.
You don't need to have to do a ton.
You've seen me in a lot of my videos using my Just Peachy,
which is a color corrector.
It's nice and creamy.
It has shea butter in it.
But you also again, like I said, the non-negotiable is hydrating
underneath the eyes, really treating your under eye area.
So you're softening everything and that this has a lot of ability
to be able to be easily applied and not skipping
and then trying to look dry and all of the things.
So what I do is I do come down.
I go into this inner corner here.
I have to lighten it up.
Then I come down here because this is where I see most of the pigmentation.
So I have to follow what my face is dictating.
Yours might be something different.
You might just be here and you might be just right here
and you don't have anything right here.
So you wouldn't obviously put it there.
But for me, I need to do that.
So I'm trying to I used to really just do the whole thing.
And then as I've been working on my pigmentation and my skincare,
I've had to do less.
And that's the whole point of having a really good skincare routine.
It's that you will have to use less makeup, which is the whole objective.
Right. So I'm going to go in right here.
And it's really nice.
You can feel the beautiful slip
that you're not feeling like you're tugging on your skin.
You don't feel like, oh, gosh, it's so dry.
So I'm going to go right in this area here.
Now, you can use your finger or you can use a brush.
It just depends on what you want to do.
A lot of the times I use my concealer brush here
and I'm just basically pressing it in.
You can also take your finger if you want to kind of melt it in
and you feel like you have more control doing that.
There's no right or wrong.
So I can easily do that.
Also, I would tell you to or I want you to avoid
dragging a brush across, dragging your finger across like this.
You don't want to move the product.
You want the product to be pushed into those areas
that you're trying to lighten up a little bit.
Now we have lifted the color underneath our eyes just a little bit.
If you feel that you have those deep purples or the reds
and you have deeper skin than I do, I came out with our Simply Apricot.
This is going to be a deeper color corrector for you.
That's going to help lift that because the just peachy
being more of that peach color could be too light for you.
So you don't you're not giving any kind of lift.
You would want to go in with the Simply Apricot.
So that's something to think about.
If you are finding that maybe a light peach is going to be too light for you.
Now, what we want to do is we want to really pull out the right concealer.
You have to look at your concealer objectively and say, OK,
is this a matte formula?
Is this drying on my skin? Is this too light?
You have to figure out where it's falling in.
It doesn't have luminosity to it.
Does it have radiance to it or is it dulling down your skin?
Is it really pulling your skin down?
That's going to be your first and foremost.
You can use any concealer that really works for you.
I created my formulas to basically work with mature skin
because I saw in Fierce Aging touching all different decades of skin
and textures and everybody having different issues.
I knew what I wanted my concealer to do.
I didn't want it to be matte and heavy.
I didn't want it to be hard to work with.
I didn't want it to be watery where I was like, where did it just go?
Oh, my gosh, I got to build it up.
Now I now it's not building up.
I didn't want any of that.
So I created a formula for you at three different colors.
Fair, light and medium.
I have hyaluronic acid in it.
I have chamomile water in it.
I have fruit extracts in it and alitwine.
So I wanted it to be where it moved with your skin.
But it wasn't something that was going to look like it was plaster on the skin.
It's not about trying to cover up as much as possible.
You want to basically improve the skin.
You want the skin to have life to it.
You don't want it to look like you just basically put on
just a very heavy concealer and you're trying to just mask everything.
So what I have found also is that when you go and you have a big doe foot,
which a lot of the if you go to Sephora, Ulta,
you're going to find a lot of these concealers have this big doe foot.
So when you go to try, I'm going to do it down here
because I just did some beautiful pigmentation work.
You go to apply it or you just go to put it on.
And you have a lot of product already on the skin.
It's very challenging for mature skin to have a lot of product like this.
And then you're trying to work it in.
And then it's like you have a lot.
You just have a lot going on.
So I decided to change my wand.
I wanted my wand, my doe foot, which is what this is, what this is called.
I wanted it to be more precise.
I wanted to be more strategic.
So I made this like a little dome and all of the product sits at the top there.
So you could be really strategic and precise and you didn't feel overwhelmed.
You just stamped a big concealer blob on your eye and you're like,
I don't have that much to work with.
And then now it's everywhere.
So what I have discovered with my own pigmentation and my own little,
you know, under eye journey here is that I've showed this to you before
on Fierce Aging with other ladies in their 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s.
And I've showed it to you myself.
So I don't want to highlight.
I don't want to make this lighter.
So we've always been told the rule of thumb is two to three shades
lighter than your foundation or your skin tone.
OK, that's what we're getting into trouble when we're aging
and going into 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s.
We can't do that because we don't want this to be like, hello,
this is the brightest thing on my face.
I'm highlighting the back under my eye.
It's not looking like it's going with my whole face.
That's first and foremost.
I would say one shade lighter than your foundation.
And really think about that.
Like, what does that mean?
Is it is it how does it look?
That's really what you're going to have to ask yourself.
So I have my light and I have my medium.
And this is what I've been doing, because you can see some of my videos
where when I put the blush on and then this looks like
I've just highlighted the whole thing is too light.
So I don't like that look as I'm aging.
I'm thinking, OK, now how do I be really strategic?
Like underneath here doesn't have to be so bright.
I do need to lighten this up because this is my real problem
area underneath here.
This eye is a little bit different that I've talked to you about a lot
because I had that neurofibroma.
So once I had that surgery, which was quite a very dramatic surgery,
this eye has always had this after, which I'm fine with
because it was life changing to get that it was deforming my face.
So it was really incredible to get that out.
So I've just noticed that this eye, I didn't know if it was like the draining
or if it was just the fact that, you know, I had a lot of trauma
with the surgery on this eye, but that's fine.
I just alter things.
So what I've done is I will take my light concealer
and I will say, OK, where do I want to lighten up?
So I need to be in this little area here
is really where that pigmentation is, even though I use my color corrector.
Still need to lighten it a little bit, depending on the day.
So here is where I have a little bit more of that hard edge here.
I don't want that to be too light underneath here
because then it starts to get too light.
So what I'll do is I'll take my medium and it's almost like I'm doing a little.
I just do two little dots like that underneath here.
And then when I'm mixing them together, it works out perfectly.
So this is kind of I've showed this technique multiple different times.
Recently, I've noticed that I need to be doing this a little bit more.
This is when I will take my concealer brush
because I want to be a little bit more precise.
And I'm going to first go and connect those lightest dots coming up here.
This is where I want.
This is where I need to brighten.
And then once I finish that, I will come over.
I have a little bit of light still on my brush.
And then we're just tapping over with that medium.
So now I have the best of both worlds.
I have lightened underneath here where I have the pigmentation.
And then I am just concealing still
with a little bit of a step down because I don't want to highlight
underneath my eye.
So the same thing on this side.
There I have my concealer ready for the next step,
which would be my BB cream or my serum foundation.
I'm just going to show you with my serum foundation.
I think I'm going to be using this is the light I have to.
It's very, very nice and thin.
You can see I only use about three to four drops on here just like this.
I'm going to just so you can see how it will come together.
I put this on very, very nice and light.
I will just match it to my foundation buffing brush.
I'm going to just match up to where I put my concealer.
So this is, again, really nice and light.
I'm not adding a lot of weight to the skin.
So I wasn't going to do the whole face and do all of the other things,
but I wanted you to see how it comes together.
So now it's all even.
I don't have my complexion done and then it jumps
and then it goes lighter underneath my eye.
So that was something that I've noticed where I was like,
oh, my skin's changing a little bit.
I am working on my pigmentation, so things are going to change a little bit,
which means I have to change the way I'm doing my under eyes
when it comes to color corrector, concealer, et cetera.
So then this is going to be one of your most important parts
is you're going to want to take your soft set technique brush
and I'm going to just go with my Nikita Banana.
It's a brightening powder.
I'm going to tap in so I can set underneath my eyes.
Just this is going to be my area that I have to set.
I usually set just in that crease there.
I don't normally set all under depending on,
but this is going to give you a really nice setting.
And then sometimes I'll do a little T-zone, but I don't really need to with this.
And then now when you do your makeup, I'm going to just take a little
Rosie Dior on my cheek just to quickly show you
how this comes together and then how you feel like you just didn't highlight
underneath your your under eyes, right?
This is like this was the part where I was like, oh, things are kind of changing
for me because I have that pigmentation.
I'm trying to go just a little bit higher with my blush,
but then it was like really spotlighting underneath my eyes, that lightness.
So now I have more of that just even tone.
It doesn't it's not jumping, right?
It's not going like, OK, we have the blush on and then we go really light
underneath the eyes.
So that's something that I wanted to show you with a technique.
And then, you know, just simply putting on just a really quick lip.
I just literally filled in.
I use my cameo lip liner as a lipstick just to be quick, something you can do.
Also, always remember that there's multi purposes for all of my products for you.
Like I could even just put this on my cheeks if I wanted to.
If I was like, well, I've got to get out the door.
I need a little bit more color.
Let me just work it in.
And then the best part, this is a real secret that no one really talks about.
I have a little bit left of a formula that I've been working on the lab for you.
You're going to want to spray your face at the very end.
So everything melts together.
So you get that hydration.
You get it melting together.
I have very exciting things coming up for you, ladies.
So that's what my lives are very important.
I give you kind of like the lives are like behind the scene, if you will,
of what I'm working on in the lab and new products that are coming out
and the dates that are coming out and all of the things that I don't normally get
to tell you here because I'm teaching on YouTube on my regular videos.
But that's something to tune into on my website.
You'll see the calendar.
It's always up for the quarter.
And I'm very excited about it.
Another thing that I wanted to mention to you, all of the things that I mentioned,
whether it's Aquaphor, Clarence, and you're like, where do I find those?
I have a curated shelf for you on ShopMind.
This is a platform that I got on a couple of years ago,
and I love it because it made my OCD so happy.
So I don't like a lot of cluttery things.
I find it very hard when I'm watching content creators
and I try to find whatever they're showing or whatever they're wearing.
And then I go to the links and it's just everywhere.
Everything's everywhere.
So when you go to my link, I'll link it below for my my storefront, if you will.
I have everything curated.
So organized for you.
So everything I mentioned on YouTube, there's all the shelves set,
like my most used products or things I talk about the most or the earrings
that I wear, all the things you can see.
And it's very like visually appeasing, like you don't feel overwhelmed
or like, oh, I can easily find this.
I have outfit inspo for you for different seasons,
whether it's spring, wedding seasons.
It's just really nice because sometimes it gets busy
underneath the YouTube videos.
But when you go over to my storefront, everything that I talk about
or mention, even like my Instagram reels, I'll put that up there
and then I link everything that I've used, whether it's hair.
So you can always find things and it's not frustrating.
So I hope that really helps you.
I try to keep everything very organized and very visually like just simple.
So you don't feel overwhelmed
because I know there's a lot of products sometimes or a lot of teaching,
a lot of techniques.
So if this video helps you,
if you feel like you're going to change your concealer routine
or you feel like it wasn't working for you recently
and now you're kind of like, oh, that that's interesting.
I haven't been using a color corrector or I didn't know I could use
two different concealer colors to really help with not just highlighting
underneath my eyes.
So this is something to really consider formula type where you're placing it.
Are you using a color corrector?
Do you need to use a color corrector and are you setting your concealer properly?
I hope this video is very helpful for you.
If it is, share with a friend.
Subscribe to my channel so I can keep making videos like this for you.
And until my next video, I'll see you later.
