Hello New Build Show, I'm Millie and today we are in Darlington in the north of England
and we're going to be exploring Home by Esher's brand new show home here at Havelock Park.
The development consists of four, five and six bedroom homes and what's really nice is that they
don't all feel the exact same. Often when you come to a New Build development it feels like a copy
and paste of the same design but this one they all have their own personality. So just down here we
have the Nightingale which we're going to be exploring later on but also just so you can get
an idea this is the Brunel, very different in design and this also has a fantastic velux
balcony window which we'll have to show you more of another time. We're also situated in such a
lovely spot, we've got Brackwell Parkland just around the corner so plenty of green spaces to
enjoy but also you can commute to London in just over two hours. So this is ideal for families who
need connectivity but also want that countryside calm. Homes by Esher are one of the north's leading
private house builders and they are known for sustainability and quality. Now you'll notice
throughout this site there is EV chargers everywhere and also solar panels meaning the
houses are also future-proof. We're going to be exploring the Nightingale so let's go and check it
out. So welcome inside, now this show home is priced at £670,000 and it's just under 2,000
square feet so we have got a fair bit of space to explore so that you can get a better understanding
of the layout. Just here on my left is the stairs and then further down the hall we have in here
a very handy storage cupboard so that'll be ideal for your coats, your shoes, your bags,
great to have in your entrance hallway. Then we also have down here a very nice downstairs WC
which I'll show you more of later but for now let's head on in and check out the open plan areas.
Now this has been designed to really be your central hub, it's been so well thought through
for family living, it feels really cohesive and it's super bright in here but it's also really
nice how we've still got this separate zone so we've got the kitchen, the dining and the living
area but we will explore the entire room, let's go into the kitchen first. Now the first thing I
noticed about the kitchen is the proportions, it's a really really great size, I mean look at all the
space I have here to manoeuvre around in between the island and the worktops, ideal for family
living as I mentioned earlier if you've got little kids running past they're not going to get in the
and it's just really nice to have this scale in your kitchen. Now over here we have this very nice
central island and the whole kitchen is centred around this gorgeous island here, this is where
you're going to be spending a lot of your time, this is going to be where you're having your
breakfast, your morning coffee, it's a really practical feature but it also does look very
very nice. So we've got the two-tone colour scheme going on as you can see, so majority of the
kitchen is in this grey but they've added this really nice blue for a bit of contrast which I
think looks beautiful and you'll see that throughout the tour as well, we've got a bit more
blue going on in the lounge too. Now we have stylestone worktops here in the kitchen and
there's actually a really decent amount of workspace, so we've got over here by the window,
we've got the central island and also more space over where the appliances would go, there's a lot
here in the kitchen but you've even got more in your utility room as well which I'll show you
later but the key for me in a new build is storage so let's have a little look and see what we're
working with. Over here we've actually got a really lovely storage display so they've got their
coffees, teas, some nice mugs that you can put on display there and then we also have plenty of
storage so all through here, let's have a little look, so we've got bin storage, we've got more
down here and then all even on the island they've made the most of every space that they could,
we've got storage here, we've even got a wine cooler which is probably my favourite feature
in the kitchen so far, also on this side we have got your dishwasher just here but I want to have
an explore over this side too because there's so much more room in here, cutlery, then we've got
space for your pans down here, literally there is a lot of room here isn't there, you're definitely
not going to run out of storage. Over here on this side we have got fridge and freezer and then we've
also got integrated appliances by Bosch which I really like these, they make it look a lot more
sleek, so we've got oven and microwave here and then we've also got an induction hob as well.
Before we finish up in the kitchen I do want to mention what a great job Holmes by Esch have done
with the lighting in the kitchen, so of course we've got the practical spotlights above which
is great for when your kids are doing their homework and sometimes you need that brighter
light but it's really nice that they've added these pendant lights here above the island because
typically in the evening when you're wanting to wind down it just sets the scene nicer and feels
more cosy. So let me show you, give you an idea of what it would look like, it just makes it so much
more cosy in here, we've got the lights coming from the cabinets as well and it's just a nice
place to wind down in. I mentioned a utility room earlier so here we are, this is a great size, now
we've got even more laptop space, not that we really need it anymore, but we've also got more
storage down here, we've got your washer and dryer and then through here we even have even more
storage through there, I mean that would be a great place to keep all of your laundry bits.
Now one thing I really love is that they've added this beach room, a very practical feature and not
something you'd usually be able to fit in your utility room. Now this is a great place if you're
coming in from a muddy dog walk you can just throw your boots and coats in here and keep the kitchen
looking spotless. We also have direct access to the garden here and your spacious garage just here
on my right. Okay leaving the utility room back through the kitchen let's go and explore the rest
of the open plan areas starting with the dining room. So we have your dedicated dining area over
here but what's really great about this entire space is that it's been designed in a way to
enhance family living, so it can be used in a few different ways which is nice because it feels
separate but still connected to the rest of the house. So picture this, you've got your friends
and family coming over, you're hosting a nice dinner, this would work really well for that,
I mean we've got the nice pendant lighting above as well, would look great in the evening and also
these big bifold doors which open out onto your very spacious garden which actually spans nearly
the entire width of this house so it's pretty impressive and fun fact this development was
actually built on what was a golf course so paying homage to that they have added a putting green
which would be great in the summer. And then following on from the dining area we have a
lounge space, now we do have a formal lounge just through there but this is probably where you're
actually going to spend most of your time, it feels very cosy in here and like I said you can
still be connected to everyone in the kitchen, great for families if you've got the kids eating
dinner there, I mean they could even watch tv while they're eating their dinner and it just
feels really cosy but also calming and elegant with the panelling and the lighting above. Now
I mentioned a more formal lounge so let's go and have an explore, they've gone for a monochrome
colour palette in here which I really like, it looks super sophisticated in here and they've
done a really great job at not making the space feel cold even with the dark colours it still feels
nice and cosy. We have the bay windows over there so you get a nice outlook at the neighbouring
houses but for me personally this room strikes me as more of a reception room so I feel when
you've got the grandparents coming over or the in-laws this is where you're going to take them
to, you want to impress them and it feels really grand in here so you can have a few drinks in here
or equally when you do want to get cosy with just the family you can shut those blinds and
pop your favourite film on. Back in the entrance hall now, we're nearly finished up with the ground floor
but I did mention a downstairs loo earlier so let me show you properly. Okay so this is a bit of a
wow moment in here, I mean this is going to be one of the first things your guests are going to see
especially if they've had a long drive. We have this mural style wallpaper and then on the bottom
half it's tiled so they've made a bit of a feature of it which is nice, it's not just a downstairs
toilet. Coming upstairs onto the first floor, this feels very grand up here again, we're continuing
the elegance that we saw downstairs. We've got this lovely glass balustrade here which is actually
just one sheet of glazing, pretty impressive. Again some lovely natural light coming in from
the big windows and there are four bedrooms up here as well as a home office so let's check out
this bedroom here first. As you'd expect in a show home, each room has been designed slightly
differently to give you more of a feel of what it would actually look like. So for this one they've
gone for a twin room, more of a boys room but it's a great size in here anyway, the dimensions are
great so it could easily be a double room and if you do have a child it would be great for them to
grow into. Follow me through to the next bedroom but while we're here I just need to point out
how cool are these hoover mats? I mean I've seen it when they're in like stripes before but never
rounded like this, that's pretty impressive. Let's go and check out the next bedroom. When I first
came and had a little look at this room earlier I actually thought this was the principal suite
but it's not, this is just the secondary bedroom and what a great size this is. I mentioned earlier
about hosting, this is probably where you're going to want to put the grandparents, the in-laws
or if you have older children I'm sure they're going to want this bedroom. I know when I was
younger I would have been definitely asking for this one. We also have tons of storage space in
this room, I mean look at all of this, you're definitely not going to run out of room. Now
there's also really great attention to detail in this room and me and Tom have been talking for the
last 20 minutes about whether this is green or blue because I think that is green so let us know
whether it's green or blue in the comments, it's definitely green. Also we have a nice upholstered
headboard, some brass details on the outside of the paintings and also on the bedside lamps so
it all ties together really nicely. Now one of my favourite features is actually these curtains here.
Now the track of this, again brass and it extends further than just the window so it gives that
real premium and hotel feel. Now like any good hotel room this also comes with a luxury ensuite
so in here we have the bright coloured tiling which really opens up this space and then we
have a nice walk-in shower here and also a vanity section. Come on out of the secondary bedroom,
let's have a look what else we have up here. I haven't actually been in here yet, okay, water
tank in there. Further down we have the family bathroom in here so let's go and have a look.
Now the secondary bedroom that we just showed you and the principal suite each have their own
ensuite so realistically this bathroom is only going to be used by two people so it's a pretty
good size. Now they've gone for a very calm neutral palette in here, we've got this sage
green, it's giving a spa-like atmosphere with the nice tiling here too. Now they've contrasted this
with the black sink looking very sleek, minimal and this is also helped with the wall-mounted
toilet and in this bathroom you have the added benefit of a bathtub as well as your walk-in
shower. Back into your landing, now in here we have some very handy storage, you actually get
a fair bit of room in there that would be great to keep your suitcases or you could even pop some
shelving in here too. Now follow me through and we'll check out the next bedroom. Now bedroom
number three is by far my favourite design-wise, it feels a lot more feminine and girly in here
but again it's a great size so you could do what you like with it, it doesn't have to be this girly
but a few things I do really like is this rose-inspired duvet here. On the walls they've
gone for a cloud-inspired wallpaper which looks beautiful and how about this for some funky
lighting, I actually really like that. Now also on this floor we have a home office so this is a
great use of space, it's probably not a big enough room for a bedroom so instead they have designed
it in this very sleek calming office. A lot of people as we know work from home now so this would
be ideal however if you don't and you have kids that need to do their homework this would be a
great place to put them. Okay so finally into the principal suite, now there's a reason I saved this
until last, this is definitely the biggest bedroom you can feel that as soon as you walk in and again
we've got that hotel style feel in here. So over here we have an upholstered headboard in this
beautiful deep navy velvet which adds that real touch of sophistication and also I don't know if
you've noticed this, what we saw on the floorings earlier with those hoover lines, the cleaners done
an even better job on the headboard, I mean look at that. Like the secondary bedroom we have the nice
premium curtains where the trap goes all the way along the wall again and we also have some storage
but this one actually has its own separate space so it feels like a walk-in wardrobe and again so
many great storage options. Now in this bathroom you can really feel that you're in the principal
suite, this is by far the biggest bathroom we've seen and again they've gone for a sleek look,
we've got the wall-mounted toilet and wall-mounted shelving here with a vanity section, also just
around here a nice big walk-in shower and my favourite bit is this very oversized freestanding
bath, I mean what a place to relax in your own bedroom. Right that brings us to the end of today's
tour, thank you so much for coming along with me. If you've liked what you've seen today and would
