You don't want no more? We're going on a little adventure today! Today is Charlotte's birthday. She wanted to go to Akiak Falls. I think, we're going to load up the dogs and we're all going to go up there as a family. It should be pretty fun! Haven't been there since it flooded. It will be interesting to see how different it looks when we go this time. Harness is on! What are you eating? There's a pillow up there! There's a blanket up there! Shake it off! Are you that ready to go? You're like, I don't need to eat no pillows! I don't need to destroy no bed! Let's go! Ok! No eating today! She just wants to go! Let's go! She's like, I'm ready! There's a lot of leaves on the trees compared to last time we were here when there was snow and ice on this trail. We made it to the falls. They're down there. The last time you were here, it wasn't flooded, but the last time mom and I were here was just after the flood. Let's go see how different it looks. Back to normal. Back to normal. Yeah, I'm sure it's back to normal. I love that all these people are coming down here to go swimming. We're going to go swimming. The dogs are like, we would totally get our paws wet. We brought longer leashes too, in case they want to get wet. I guess they're allowed. But the water is fairly warm. I'm sure it is. I'm glad I wore shorts today. I was going to wear long pants because it said it was going to be cold. By cold I mean 62. Right. Here we go. Don't pull me down Eleanor. Gee, I'm going to film you in the waterfall and now you got to check out the tree. Oh, she's not connected to you. You make me nervous. Where's the connector? She don't need that yet. She'll fall down the waterfall. What do you think Eleanor? Don't eat the salad. There's definitely a lot less water. This was all water when mom and I were here. Yeah, it's a little deep there Kira. It's like, I'm going up the waterfall guys. Going up the waterfall. Yeah? I don't think you're going further. We'll go down to the other one. It's slippery. Be careful. I'm figuring it out. Yep. It's slippery. Very pretty today. We lost everybody. I think they went that way. We'll go that way. Come on, let's go to the other one. Taking the muddy path. I don't know if it was a smart idea. I don't know if we can make it from here. I don't know. I guess we find out. No, I ain't walking in the river with dad. I know, I was telling Eleanor. Come on. I got brand new shoes on. I don't think I can make it unless I get wet. Yep. I don't think I'm making it. Unless I get wet. It's quite different than it was when it flooded. There's normally a little pool here. But a lot of those rocks got washed away. It's like rushing, rushing. People are usually down at this one swimming too, but nobody is down here. It's harder to get down because the steps are kind of gone. Jamie's got Kira. Making me nervous. Eleanor is like, whoa! Definitely pretty. This washed out a lot more. Over here, this used to be quite flat too. The ice and stuff did some damage. Or made it more natural. However you want to look at it. Oh, your best friends again? Everybody's best friends. Everybody's best friends, huh? Hi Andy! Eleanor is like, I'm gonna go jump off this waterfall. Watch me. This is where when it flooded, it decided to make new paths. It's a new path. They're like, oh! Look it! Whoa! Be careful! Good catch! I thought they were lady slippers. They're not. I got excited. They're not lady slippers. Yeah, this is where the flood... It was all underwater. Kira, quit eating the grasses. There's the river down there. We all made it up. We all made it down too. We're all down there. Everybody made it. Yeah, I know. Eleanor is like, why am I in this hide when everybody else is over there? Come on! You do what I believe in. Did I make you happy Kira? She's like, yeah! I'm in the river. I'm in the waterfall. Hi! You're in the river, huh? That's a pretty good idea for Shiloh's birthday, coming down here. The water smells like tannin. Yeah. Hi Eleanor! I got a mosquito bit and I can feel it. There's a dragonfly. Right there. A really pretty one, right there. Hi friend! Nice to see you. Always gotta take the photos, right? Good. The mosquito is landing on your hand. I know. He's flying around my face. Gotta take the photos. Hold on, I'll get you one. Kira, did you not drink enough river water? Hi El. She's like, yeah I did, but I would like some of this fresh water in here. Alright, we're loaded back up. We haven't decided where we're going next, but we're loaded back in the car. We made it to Silver Springs, where the water just comes right out of the ground. It's like, I got muddy and now I want to get less muddy. Less muddy! So, yeah. This is Silver Springs. Back here, the water comes out of underground system. They're all trying to make sure their dogs don't get muddy. I left mine in the car. Yeah, look. See? Comes right out of the ground. If you go in the woods that way, there's a whole cave system you can actually see. We haven't done that in a long time either, but... I guess we could have got the dogs out here. You can walk down there and the water is really pretty down there. We could have got them out here and went all the way over there, but we would have been wet trying to get them across. Yeah, cause when I walk there, it goes back all the way there over again. That's what it does. It's a very, very pretty area. It's a very pretty area. I already got bit twice though. Yeah, I think the horse bite just on the skin. I won't show it on camera, but my leg is bleeding. Ah! Here they are! Okay, let's get in the car. Alright, leaving Silver Springs. Which way do you think they turned? I don't know. Now, where are we gonna race to? Is that the next place we're going to? We're going to the trailer. I don't know which way they turned. I let the dogs out. I didn't realize the squirrel was like right there. You better keep... There you go! Kira's like, I don't know, I could have caught that squirrel. Wow! From when we left to now, he got kind of chilly out. I'll put long pants on before we go out to dinner. We're going out to dinner for Charlotte's birthday. You would have thought that we took you on a grand adventure today. You came home, you ate lunch and instant naps. Did you have fun today? Was that fun? You walked in the waterfall. You went for a ride in the Jeep. It's supposed to start raining here pretty soon. Hi Kira! What's this Kira? I was just gonna help you. Can I help you? Can I maybe help you? Let me just get it. They've been here a couple of times. Hi friends! My new chipmunk friends. Maybe I'll get these ones to let me feed them from my hand as well. I try to talk to them every time they're here, so they're not scared of my voice. There he goes! You didn't even know they were out there! Neither did I, really! Okay, you girls be good! We're gonna go to dinner and celebrate birthday. Hi friend! He does have a sad little tail. We can be friends. You should just come over here and I will totally pet you. Except, I'm told I'm not supposed to pet you. Look at how cute you are though! How scared of me are you? He's like, Don't you make me leave! I won't hurt you! I was just watching. That's all! I'll put some more cookies in there. Go on! Get out of here! Go! It's raining! It started raining while we were out to dinner. Which we kind of thought it was gonna do. But, you know... Weather is unpredictable sometimes. So, we are not going for a W.A.L.K. tonight. Because it is... RAINING! Did you wake up from your nap? Then, you come in the office? Did you just come for scritches? Or, do you actually need to finally go outside? One of the weirdest things about Memphis being gone, is Memphis was older. Memphis had to go outside a lot more than the other two dogs did. Memphis was the one that always told me when it was time to go out. These two dogs don't really say much when they need to go out. Yeah, I know. Look at his face! Look at his face on you! The coldest face ever! What if I stop? Oh, I'm not allowed to stop. Is it funny? Yeah, I know. I'm not allowed to stop. I'm not allowed to stop petting the Kira. Did you come in here because you knew I was having a moment? Or, did you come in here because you need to go outside? Oh, okay! You came in here because you knew I needed you for a moment, didn't you? I was like, mom, I could just tell that you wasn't feeling the greatest. So, I thought I would come be my goofy self.
