It emphasizes Enola as an empowering role model and showcases the collaborative energy on set in Malta.
She'll be here. Don't worry.
Sorry. Sorry.
Sorry.
No, no, no, no.
Soft sticks. I'm a method actor.
I'm just joking. Oh my god, I love you.
No.
You're great. Go on.
Smashed it. Great joke.
Who was that man you were watching?
We want to give people mirrors.
We want them to feel like
they can see beyond
maybe the
limits that they've surrounded themselves in.
And Enola is a really
good example of that.
I think she's
fierce and
adventurous and flawed.
Deeply flawed.
And I think she's
a great role model for young
people to feel
like there's so much more that they're
capable of. And yes, there will be
times you don't believe in yourself, but ultimately
if you give yourself the support and the
love and the grace that you
need, which I think Enola does so well,
that you're capable of anything.
It's kind of the tea
and then Millie will turn back in.
A horse was mounted.
A man made his departure this way.
Then we would see the heel lift
mount from the mount.
Sherlock, this is where the man disappeared.
This is a murder scene.
And on the weekend,
well, tooth's break.
I had work
to do. I was a detective and a good one.
I was happy.
Nothing's changed from
the first movie.
I mean, she's changed
ever so slightly, but she's still Millie.
We have a shorthand
at this stage.
There's lots of joking around on set
and it's very much
sibling-like
in its approach.
There are no punches pulled when we're making fun of each other.
It's fun.
It's a good, fun
shooting environment.
I think it's wonderful how she's
coming along in leaps and bounds
and she's building her career
beyond just acting.
I think that's a wonderful thing
and I'm proud of her.
If I go too tight, it's literally your eyes.
Yeah, but it could kind of look sick with the veil on
because you don't actually know
what it is. It could look like
curtains. That's what I'm thinking.
I'm going to use what those windows
are doing and blow it out
so that it's really bright behind you.
We could have a bit of
wind on it so it could feel like curtains.
Yeah, I think it could be cool.
Oh my God!
Lovely.
------- lovely.
That?
Oh, yeah.
That's it.
Flossing.
I just look like I'm having a fit.
Oh my God.
That was on my bingo card for today.
Gen Z.
That was the first two films.
Nicely done.
Sometimes they're just a little bit of both so I'll give you that.
Do you love that?
Can you give us full grey?
Oh, I'd love to give you full grey.
Is there anything you can't do?
No, I can't. Would you like me to stop crying?
The way that I like to work
is I used to be an actor
you see. So I understand
actors.
And so I always like to bring
the actors down to set
in the morning and go, okay, let's block
it out. Let's have a feel about
where we want this scene to go
and let them have a play
and then we come in with the
camera angles and figure it out that way.
So it's very organic. We use handheld camera
quite a bit and we really
get into the
perspective of the characters.
And so we always like to put a one take
sequence
in everything that we do
and there's a couple in this.
I want to change my feet.
Shrek, have you?
No.
Back to one for you guys.
Shrek, two.
Okay, I'm just going to go from
She won't be able to make it.
She won't be able to make it
because the event is so well.
What strikes me is how
Millie really, really cares
about this. She doesn't just rock up and
say the lines
and leave. It's like the little details
are really, really important. She's there all
the time. Millie can switch it on
and I'm still as
baffled as I was the first time
I worked with her. She can kind of
wear the producer
hat as well as the
acting hat and be in the room
and be sort of
slightly adjusting because she knows
that you're going to use a certain part of that
scene and that take
but Millie can
multitask without
the acting suffering
and I don't know anybody else
who can do that.
If the police find me here they will throw me in jail
for a very long time. I have to go.
No, you have to do it. Our parts will cross again.
You will require my help again
and I will require yours.
The puzzle is always as
devious as the set up.
Can you tie it?
The room!
It's been torn apart
yet his garments have been
left untouched.
What case were you working on here?
In Malta, no case. We're here
for your wedding.
He was watching someone last night at the banquet.
Tewkesbury! Doctor Watson!
What's that?
They looted Adam.
They stole and killed innocent people.
I know who she is
but there's no reason
for her to break into this
military office without permission.
I've solved the case
and I have a plan.
All the sets
that we've been shooting in
I'm always blown away by
the detail.
It's so important for me as an actor
to walk into a space and just forget
that I'm anywhere else
other than where I'm meant to be.
You can walk around the space
and it's all ready to go
if you want to pick something up, if you want to
open a door, if you want to...
It's all there for you to work with
and that's really invaluable.
Take a look at the B.
Why'd you do that?
It just springs up.
That's why he's the director.
I'm an actor for hire.
I'm entirely
lost as to what is going on here.
I wouldn't be surprised if she was
held responsible for the smudges of
Morse code on his mirror.
It doesn't matter because even pigs
must be found.
I do not doubt Sherlock has doubted me.
Goodbye British and all that.
Hello Malta.
What I found so interesting
is telling the locals that we're actually
filming a movie about Malta and we're not pretending
it to be somewhere else.
I think all the movies that come here are like
this is Spain or this is wherever
but actually we're like no, we're telling a story
about Malta. So it's really nice to see the locals
face light up. It's a really beautiful
thing that we're able to really highlight
such a small country but again with such
vibrance and colour and passion.
I mean on the weekends they just put fireworks
in the air because it's the weekend.
Be able to go from set and
to get into the ocean. Just be like
oh my gosh, this is like truly
for all of us been
such a great experience.
Nice one bro.
That was amazing.
Sorry.
Sorry to put you through that.
Amazing, I love it.
Yes, you know.
You'll come? You'll come to my wedding?
Fantastic.
Thank you very much. I appreciate it.
I'll see you on Saturday.
So big.
I hope you work out better for the motorbike.
I hope so.
Our plan is good
Dr. Watson.
Do not doubt me.
Honestly as soon as I see Millie in her
whatever period dress and I'm
wearing a waistcoat it kind of just
seems to just happen.
Given that me and Millie
have grown up with these
characters it's kind of like the lines between them
are fairly blurred and so
it was really the easiest thing to
step back into it and I think
that's a great way to work to be honest.
If you can feel like you're natural and
and comfortable and
you can make choices
because you feel confident
that's the best place to be.
Coachman Eric.
I thought you'd scarpered.
Happy, happy.
It's always fun
for me to watch Millie work and perform
in any of her films and Enola is so
inherently Millie and she
really dives into the character
every time she plays it. I mean I even
notice after work we go home and she'll
still be talking like Enola. It's so
hilarious but she is
so elated to play this
character and a lot of what you see in the movie
is Millie's brilliance just coming
up with things on the day. Being able to
see her do that and
come to this point in her life
and play this part. Everything
mixes together with Millie being
who she is now in her
life and bringing that to this character that
she continues to grow with.
Arriba Marbella!
Where is your
heart moving to?
The falling straight and loopy
loop? I love the movement
in this fabric.
We could put this fabric or that type of fabric
into the other one. And then the other one
but I loved the other one. Yeah I know
so do I love the other one.
To be stuck in that if we don't get in the other one.
Yes, no you should completely cover it.
There's something about the fact that this
is the point of connection.
I'm most proud of
how Phil
Berantini has made this movie
and elevated it to a
place that I just
couldn't have ever imagined for these movies.
It just felt
so exciting. It's felt
so new and it's
brought out a different side of myself
Millie but also Enola.
I am so proud of the movie we've
made together and I'm so proud to call him
a dear friend. I think you're extraordinary.
Start again!
Is that your blood?
No it's the blood of another.
Oh good.
