Hi there, let me give you an introduction to myself.
My name is David King.
I'm a general dentist currently practicing in Baldwin, Missouri.
I'm also a husband, a father, and a flower farmer, as you can probably see from this video over here.
I have a YouTube channel, and I also have a Udemy and Teachable channel,
an Instagram, of course, like many people do, and some stuff on Facebook.
And what motivates me, what I enjoy, what I love is to share,
teach, train, coach, mentor, engage, enlighten, brighten, and help other people's lives.
I find that very rewarding.
I find that I have a unique, like everyone else has a unique to them,
individual set of life experiences that allow us
opportunities to learn and grow in unique and special ways.
And so what I enjoy doing is sharing my experience, my perspectives,
my individual life choices, and some of the things that I've learned
in a way that allows you to learn and grow and develop and become a better version of you.
We're all in this adventure together, the adventure of life,
and it's helpful if we can actually support and help one another along the way.
So this course, this course is designed and created with the intention of allowing
individuals to take the next steps in becoming a better version of themselves.
It's titled Be First, and I want to explain that very briefly.
We oftentimes feel like in our lives that we have to have something,
we have to receive something, we have to get something first,
and then that'll allow us to do something which will allow us to then be what we want to be.
For instance, I'm a general dentist.
A lot of us assume that for me to be a general dentist, I have to have the education and training
and I have to do the stuff a good, high quality, efficient, compassionate,
competent general dentist does, and then I will be a general dentist.
And yes, all that is true.
I have to have those things and do those things to be a good general dentist.
However, let's switch the script.
Let's flip that around the other way around.
Let's consider first being who we should be.
So as I consider my life in dentistry, who I should be, what I should be,
I need to define what that is, set up a certain set of parameters,
and then do those things, those parameters.
Now, this course is designed to help and analyze our roles, help you analyze your roles,
and then go through the process of creating what that role looks like.
So again, as a dentist, defining what a good dentist is,
and then setting up a series of parameters and processes and a checklist, basically,
that I will do as I'm being a good dentist first, as I'm being first.
As a result of creating this me, if you will, this identity, this role, this vision,
then I can now do the things that allow me to then have the rewards of being a good dentist.
And for me, again, we're talking a lot about dentistry here.
For me, being a good dentist entails serving patients in a way that allows them
to become healthier and happier, brightening the world one smile at a time.
I guess it's my official motto.
So my goal here with this course is to give you tools and resources and allow you
to analyze your personal progress, analyze your roles in life, and create,
intentionally create, in your mind, a better version of yourself.
Once that vision, that spiritual creation of your role has been created in your mind,
then we start to lay out how we can improve our individual lives where the rubber meets the road.
Making a list, for instance, talking about how we can adjust certain choices in our lives,
and then ultimately coming up with a game plan, a mission statement, a vision statement
for ourselves that takes us from who we are now, recognizing who we can be, and how we get there.
So this course, again, is designed to help anyone interested in overcoming apathy,
anyone interested in taking their individual personal development a step forward,
analyzing themselves, learning how to become a better version of themselves.
And then hopefully, at the end of this course, or maybe throughout the course,
you'll have a desire to reach and pull others along with you.
So I hope you enjoy this course.
I've tried to adjust each of the lectures to a little bite-sized, worthwhile nugget,
if you will, of information that you can take one per day, or however many you want to digest,
and really utilize it.
I don't want you to rush through it.
Sometimes we binge watch certain shows, like The Office, or Parks and Rec,
or whatever it is that you enjoy binge watching.
I would encourage you not to binge watch things that you're working on through a
personal development standpoint.
Now, can you go through it really quickly?
Yes.
And I'm not saying not to do that, absolutely.
However, we get the most benefit, the most value, the most growth,
as we intentionally work through the data, processing it, assimilating it,
and making it part of our lives.
So thanks for tuning in.
Stay with me.
I'm interested to see how the thoughts, the concepts, the ideas, this coursework can not
only bless and benefit your life by allowing you to intentionally create a better version
of yourself intellectually and spiritually, but then go about working through the steps,
the choices of actually putting that plan to action, putting that blueprint to action.
I'm grateful that you've tuned in and thankful that you're taking an investment in yourself,
making an investment in yourself, and becoming a better version of yourself.
Again, my goal here is to brighten the world one smile at a time,
and hopefully this will bring you some brightness and some smiles.
Thank you.
Enjoy the course.
