Last time I needed a landing page and an email sequence, I paid a freelancer $1,000. This time I built the whole thing myself with AI, and honestly the result surprised me. I also used Gamma to turn a few rough notes into a clean, shareable deck. In this video I'll show you what I built, what it cost, and what I'd do differently next time.

Common package that a lot of my customers in my web design business need is
they're looking for a landing page plus a five email welcome sequence.
And if you go to Upwork, you know,
landing page costs you somewhere between $150 to maybe $400 for a good one,
$500 for a good one. And then, you know, uh,
if you're looking for copywriting for an email sequence,
good ones will charge a hundred to $150 a piece.
So for this welcome package, a landing page and a five email sequence,
you're looking at about a thousand dollars for most companies.
So I wanted to run an experiment instead of paying that thousand dollars or
spending my whole Saturday building it,
can I just have Claude code take care of this? How good does it do?
How does it compare to using a freelancer? I mean, I'll be straight with you.
It didn't beat the freelancer on everything, but on some things it definitely did.
So let's, uh, let's see what happened. So first of that number, you know,
I didn't invent it for the thumbnail,
but if you look at landing pages on Upwork, you can find some for cheaper,
but most high quality landing page is going to look at least $250 up to $500,
$600 for professional looking landing pages.
And the price of landing pages has come way down.
And a lot of that is because a lot of people are turning to AI for that.
They're not looking to hire freelancers. AI has hurt freelancers quite a bit.
I would say here over the last year, especially,
but if you look at email copywriting,
good copywriters will charge 70 to a hundred dollars per email.
Again, you combine that landing page with the welcome email sequence. And again,
you're looking at about a thousand dollars for someone to use a freelancer.
And there's a lot of back and forth. You have to wait, you know,
about a week for that freelancer to get it to you. Then there's revisions,
big hassle. So can AI do this? Can you do this with AI?
So the ground rules for this test is number one,
it's one prompt to build the whole thing.
I get one followup to fix problems because you would have revisions with a
freelancer. That's one rule. Also, I'm not able to touch the code by hand.
I'm going to be tempted to because I am a software developer,
but have to let AI do it.
And I have to show you the results. I actually get the flaws, the face plants,
all part of the video.
So here's the part that most people do not do well with AI is they type some
prompt like, Hey, make me a landing page.
And then they wonder why it looks generic,
but they get exactly what they asked for.
But you can think of it as kind of like hiring a freelancer.
So before a good one starts something, if you hire a freelancer,
good freelancers will ask you a questionnaire.
If a freelancer just gets going on it without asking you any questions,
they're probably not going to do a very good job,
but they want to know your business name, your location,
who's your potential customer. What sections do you want on the landing page?
What tone do you want to take?
The answers to that questionnaire are the prompt that you should be sending to
AI. So our client today is going to be a plumbing company.
I end up doing a lot of websites for plumbing companies because they have big
margins and a lot of them do not have websites or good websites,
good converting websites.
And a lot of times they'll pay me $50 a month for a good converting website.
But in plumbing,
it only takes one extra job a month and that basically covers it almost for a
year. So we're going to call this plumbing company Ridgeline Plumbing.
It's not real fake name, but this is genuinely the kind of business I build for.
So I created a folder called Ridgeline. I'm old school.
I use Claude just straight from the terminal. If you wanted to download Claude,
you could do that. Use Claude code desktop. And you know what?
Let's use Fable. Fable five is available.
It's Anthropic's strongest model,
but let's have it take a stab at this landing page and see what it can do.
So I actually had AI generate the prompt as well.
So this was the prompt that AI came up with. And again,
putting just a lot of detail in there.
So it's building the landing page and also the email sequence.
So let's get AI going on that. I had to log into my account.
Now let's get going on it.
So, and you notice I gave a lot of details.
These are the details you would give to a freelancer,
the name of the business, where it's at, what we want on the page.
And you can see how Claude code works, but it knows what we're trying to do.
So it found a skill called front end design,
and it's going to use that skill.
So we will let Claude code cook there while that's building real quickly.
This video is one AI agent doing one job building this landing page.
I run my whole business on about 20 of these AI agents doing things like
this all day. People ask me all the time, how it works, how I have it set up.
So instead of explaining it again,
I'm going to build the answer right now in Gamma.
This is today's sponsor called Gamma,
but here we're going to go create new in Gamma, but this is Gamma.
So I've got my actual notes on how the agent team runs. I mean,
it's a mess on purpose,
but watch what Gamma does with what I send it.
But I gave it kind of a brief description just of how all my AI agents work.
And again, it's kind of messy, but just kind of a brief outline.
And we're going to say that it's for a presentation.
I'm going to present and generate from notes or an outline,
continue to prompt here.
So it kind of put together some settings for how it might write this,
who the target audience is, what the tone should be of this presentation.
You know, you can change the art style. You can add photos if you want,
but I'm going to go ahead and let it take what I put here and use AI to generate
a presentation from it. Oh, this is cool.
You can see it generating as you go and you can see it's adding graphics as we
go. So this is pretty cool. So it took just, you know,
that mess of information I gave it, turned it into a presentation.
I can go through and edit things. You know,
if I want to change the text or, Hey, I want a different image to go there.
I can give it a different prompt. I can create a new theme. You know,
if there's a particular theme that I want,
like if my company does all presentations with the same colors,
I can set that up.
But definitely Gamma is what I use for presentations
that I have to do. I speak at a lot of conferences, things like that.
And Gamma is always the base. So if you want to try it,
my link and promo code are in the description, go check it out.
And we'll get back to our build here in Claude code. It's been cooking.
So when it actually spun up a sub agents to finish the landing page,
so it's not done yet, but it did finish the email sequence.
So I'm going to ask it and put it in a dot MD file,
but I'm gonna have it open it in a TXT file.
So you can see here down at the bottom, this is how Claude code handles sub agents.
So this one's still working on the landing page,
but here is our email sequence. So email one,
kind of the welcome after they submit a quote request.
Then it goes through which day to send it and what email to send.
So good subject lines to go with each of these as well. All right.
I think this landing page is about done. My dog is barking,
so I will be right back.
We're trying to get our dog and cat acclimated to each other.
Got a new Husky and it is not going well.
If you have any tips in the comments for getting a Husky and a cat to get
along, please let me know. But this is still going.
It's working actually on mobile,
which is crazy how far AI has come that it's actually,
it's not only building the landing page,
but it's building the mobile version and it's building it at different sizes.
It's just crazy. All right. Well, I was thinking of my dog again.
It actually finished the landing page and then it spun up another sub agent to
evaluate the landing page. So that is a, that's pretty cool.
Not only built it, but then is evaluating it.
So Claude built the landing page and then it evaluated it.
And then it actually found a few problems and then fixed the problems.
So all in all that took about 10 minutes.
It took a little longer than I thought it would,
but let's see what it came up with. So this is Claude Fable,
just asking it to build a landing page for a plumbing company, Ridgeline Plumbing.
So honestly, this is pretty good. Um, one thing I might want to do is,
you know, connect to the Hicksfield MCP or something to add some images.
If you have some images of the team, that would be better.
But based on what I gave it, this is pretty good out of the box.
So it's got that trust bar that I asked for this good call to action
services, what they handle. This is all the stuff I asked for.
I see asked for FAQ. Yeah, here's the FAQ. So got the landing page,
got the email sequence. Again,
would it cost a thousand dollars to hire a freelancer can do it with Claude code
a lot cheaper and a lot faster. Let me see how it does responsively.
So if it's on mobile, yeah. So it looks great on mobile. Honestly,
a lot of freelancers might forget to do mobile or it might not look great on
mobile. So this is episode one of what I think I might make a series,
which is replacing things I pay for with AI.
It's kind of what my whole channel is about anyways,
but let me know in the comments, what should I try to replace next?
What AI tools should I use to try and replace maybe a some software that I pay
for, but download Claude code, get going with AI.
Let me know in the comments what you've built.
Thank you guys so much for watching.
God bless you all and have a great rest of your day.
