After a successful opening, the video provides a detailed breakdown of the champagne's blend, vintage composition, and tasting notes, concluding that it offers exceptional value compared to more expensive Champagnes.
Hello, welcome to another English Sparkling with Tweenie video.
Once again, yet again, nightimber, and I've covered this so many times before,
but it feels like a while since I've done any sabrage, and it was on special offer at
Waitrose. 30 quid, which I think is a very good price for stalwart nightimber.
I should probably take a look at the code so I can
figure out the vintage breakdown and all that, but I could do that later, I suppose.
This has been in an ice bucket. It's been upside down for a bit to make the
neck sufficiently cold. Hopefully that's done the trick. My trusty sabre is at the ready.
Right, do I have slow-mo ready? Have that in shot.
Very nice, very pleased with that. Worked like a charm.
Nice clean operation, very pleased with that. I'm interested to look up the code there.
Classic lemon pastry on the nose, lovely. Balance and refinement and all that's
wonderful, good stuff. Usual stalwart nightimber. I'm going to look the code up.
I'm interested. Right, I've found that information. It is
roughly a third each. 37% Pinot Noir. That dominates here, interestingly.
35% Chardonnay, 28% Pinot Meurnier. It's quite a lot of Pinot Meurnier, isn't it?
And then the base vintage is 2021. 74% of the grapes came from that year and the remainder
from previous years 2020, 2019, 2018, 2017. I think that is one continuous run there,
they haven't skipped anything. Bottled July 2022 and disgorged September 2025.
So it has had three and a bit years on the leaves. Is that a bit longer than usual for
nightimber? Possibly. Dosage, slap bang in the middle, 9.5 grams. What a delight.
Covered nightimber's classic cuvee many times before. I just wanted to do some more surprise
basically and also point out it's currently on special offer at Waitrose. They come and go quite
a lot, these special offers. They're so frequent that it is worth waiting for that because I think
30 quid for this is a bargain. Absolutely stands head and shoulders with champagnes at much higher
prices and adults rather have this, personally. Cheers.
