Do your dogs love the water, or are they a little chicken like Kira when it comes to jumping in? Let us know in the comments below if your pets prefer swimming or going for Jeep rides! Today we decided to take the girls out for an epic summer adventure in Jamie's Jeep. The weather was absolutely perfect, reaching a warm 83 degrees, so we packed up the long leashes and headed out to the Besser Bell Natural Area. We haven't been out here in such a long time, and the girls knew something big was happening the second the harnesses came out! Eleanor was ready to dive right into the big lake, and wait until you see Kira, we finally have absolute proof that she loves swimming when she can walk right in! They even tried to chase an RC boat out in the water!
After drying off with a nice breeze in the Jeep, we continued our road trip over to the historic Old Presque Isle Lighthouse. If you didn't know the history, this place is actually known for being haunted, and we had a blast checking out the grounds. Jamie even rang the massive bronze bell, which weighs over 3,400 pounds! We got the girls up on some big rocks for a quick photo shoot, and they looked so proud of themselves.
We wrapped up our big day by stopping at the Portage Store in Presque Isle for some amazing thick-cut sandwiches and Great Lakes Parmesan Ranch chips. Of course, the girls had to try a few bready pieces of our lunch! By the time we got back home, Kira and Eleanor were completely wore out and ready for a massive couch nap before running inside for their nightly bedtime treats. Life is short, make memories with your dogs!

A family takes their two dogs, Kira and Eleanor, on a Jeep adventure to explore the outdoors. The trip includes swimming in a lake, visiting historic lighthouses, and enjoying a scenic lunch, ending with the exhausted dogs napping at home.
Hey girls! What are you doing?
In the big lake!
Get them woos? Go get them? Can I get them woos?
Tell me. Yeah?
Thank you for those woos!
Good, wonderful,
beautiful morning, audience.
You ready to go outside? Are you ready to go outside?
You know something's going on. You want to go outside?
Come on.
That one knows something's going on. This one is
suspectful of something going on.
We might take the dogs out on a Jeep ride today.
It's a little warm out though. We haven't decided yet.
We might go later. We might go now. We don't know.
I guess we'll figure it out.
Warmer today than yesterday. It's supposed to be 83 today.
Not too bad. Might have to open the pool up again.
You're the easiest dog to put a harness on.
I get it out and you're like, OK, it's me. It's my turn.
And then, there's you. Even Memphis wasn't a huge fan
of getting her harness put on. But then, there's you.
And she's gone.
All I have is her harness.
See you later. Bye Kira. Here she comes.
Get out of her way. She's going to eat something.
Where are you going to go?
There you go.
What are you going to eat? The pillow?
The bean bag? The bed?
Dad?
She's like, I've got to have my fit.
Over here? This bed? This bed?
I'm not sure where you're going to eat anything from there.
I think, yep.
Second shake. Is that it?
There it is.
There it is. And...
Pout.
Hey Kira. Want to go for a ride?
Want to go for a ride in Jamie's Jeep? Want to go for a ride in dad's Jeep?
Come on. Let's go. She's like, OK, I'm ready.
Every time.
We're right here. We're coming. I swear.
We're coming. I swear. I know. We're going.
Well, well, well.
We made it to our first stop. I don't even think I filmed loading the dogs.
We loaded the dogs in the Jeep.
Kira had her harness fitting. Now we're magically here.
I don't know how I ended up with this dog.
I'm going to hold both dogs.
We're going to go down to the water.
We have not been out here in a very long time.
We are at the Besser Bell Natural Area.
We brought the long leashes for the dogs so they can get in the lake.
What you think? You want to get in the lake today?
I haven't done that in a while.
I thought those were laying on the ground. They kind of are.
Their bike thing is bent to the ground. I hope they did that on purpose.
The only thing I don't like about this place
is it is poison ivy central.
I have to keep dogs close because I'm allergic. Jamie is not.
We got to keep dogs close.
Are you trying to figure out what that is, Kira?
I guess you're going.
I got to check out this rock and see what this is.
Holy cow! This water is cold.
We brought long leashes.
That's not your stand up paddle board, ma'am.
Hi Kira!
The big lake!
Remember?
That's not your stand up paddle board.
Yeah! The big lake!
There's actually people out here. We don't normally see many people out here.
It's a very nice day. The sandy spot is down there though.
We're going that way.
Good job, El!
We have to go out to the boat. Oh my goodness!
You can chase that boat.
You sure could... Oh! I'm going to get wet.
A little bit. It gets shallow.
I was like, I'm going for this...
I was like, I'm going for this RC boat over here.
Kira is too.
What you think?
Yep! This is the life!
This way!
See you later! I'm going!
She's swimming!
Going to do it, Kira?
El and I are swimming!
We're swimming!
Look out! The other one is behind you!
Swimming in the big lake?
Heck yeah! Swimming!
Look at her! She's like, I'm going for the RC boat.
She's like, no way! I'm chasing the boat.
Here comes! Here comes Kira!
Get it Kira! Get it!
In the big lake!
Swimming and swimming!
I could probably step over.
I'm sinking! Yeah! Fun, huh?
Kira's like, oh no! Hold on! I'm tangled!
Good girl! Here's proof that Kira loves swimming.
She just likes when she doesn't have to jump in.
More than anything else!
That was... There was no point to that!
That's where you shake off!
All the way down to the tail!
Look how poofy you got!
Kira's like, oh my goodness! That feels so good!
Alright! We got them wet and now we can put them back in the Jeep.
And continue on our adventure!
Yeah! They might get in the water there too!
This is Besser Bell Bay.
There's a shipwreck over there that they're paddle boarding to.
Rock port is down that way.
The other half of the shipwreck from the Lagoon, those are not your stand up paddle boards.
Alright! We're loaded back up!
Kira says, dad! All the skaters are getting in!
We're loaded back up with some wet doggos!
We're at Besser Bell! He's got his paddle board.
Ma'am, there's no yelling on adventures!
We made it to the old Presque Isle Lighthouse.
If you guys don't know the history, this lighthouse is haunted.
It's been on a whole bunch of ghost shows.
That light isn't actually in there.
But it comes on all the time and is seen all the time.
Even though there's no light in there.
There's not! I've been up there.
Yeah! There's no reason for a light to be showing.
But people see it and look up the old Presque Isle Lighthouse.
I'll put how to spell it down here.
Hey! That was unnecessary!
Unnecessary!
That's the bell! This bronze bell was taken from the old Lansing City Hall clock tower.
When the building was torn down in 1959.
It weighs 3,425 pounds.
It's 60% heavier than the Liberty Bell.
In case you were wondering.
Yeah! Are you gonna do it?
It might scare Eleanor.
I don't know if you can either.
Kira's like, whoa! Eleanor did not even react.
Kira looked at you like,
Did you do that?
Uh-huh! Yeah, I don't think there's a lightly
when it comes to that bell.
When we get down here, I'll turn around so you guys can see the lighthouse better.
Oh! There's a trail that way too.
Ta-da! There's the lighthouse.
This is the old Presque Isle Lighthouse.
We'll probably go drive by the new one as well.
This is the old one. Lots of people out there.
It is beautiful today.
Look! Rocks! Can they make it?
Can you do it?
Will Eleanor get on the big rock?
Yeah! Look at you girls!
They're like, we did it! Now what?
You gotta look this way. Alright, I gotta take their picture.
Hey girls! They're like, whoa! We're on this big rock.
Is that fun?
I know! It's an adventure!
There's a big freighter way out there too.
Hi girls!
Look at that! Stepping stones.
She's like, no I'm getting in the water.
Don't drink that water.
When it gets close to the shore, it's a little green.
It is a little warm.
I got it. I got her.
I got that one.
It's a very nice day today.
Hey look! It's the portage store in Delhi.
Guess what? We got sandwiches.
Not for you Kira.
Now, we're gonna go find a place to park.
That's not in the direct sunlight.
I forget that there's a trail over there too.
Walk out there and see the lighthouse we already saw.
I think we're going to the other lighthouse.
No! Not in there.
We'll go to the next one.
This one is turkey and cheddar. Check out this view.
While we eat our lunch.
And that view, while you try to steal my sandwich.
Not happening ma'am. Not happening.
I know, dad's got one too. Look at them faces.
You'll get a bite, I'm sure.
Little bite. Little bite.
Good stuff.
You're gonna get stuck ma'am.
You want another bite?
Guess what? You get two bites.
She's like, I'm coming for it.
One for you.
That's a good bready piece.
Good bready piece for you.
I got nothing.
Eat the next sandwich.
Is that good? Did you like it?
Did you like it? You drooled all over my seat.
It's actually wet from her harness. It's not drooled.
I had to say it, cause it was funny.
It's wet from her harness.
If you can get these, get these. These are really good.
I don't know what flavor. It's really good.
I don't know what flavor it reminds us of.
These Great Lakes Parmesan Ranch, I've been wanting to try them.
Those are really good.
This one is ham and horsey sauce. That is some thick ham.
This one should be good too. The turkey one was great.
This one should be good too.
There's people up at the top of that lighthouse.
It's open right now, so you can actually go up to the top of that.
We're not doing that.
I've been up there before too.
I see them girls. Hi girls.
We're going slow enough, we're putting our heads out.
There's the new lighthouse.
And by new, I don't know if you know this.
This was built in 1870.
But it is the new Presque Isle Lighthouse.
Even though it was built in 1870.
It even says that on the building over there.
You did carve this lighthouse out of wood.
I didn't carve the building.
No, not this building. You carved that building.
Try to remember when we get home and we'll show that to them.
Jamie did. He carved it out of wood.
We're not walking the dogs around here. It's direct sunlight.
Get out of here mosquito.
We're going to get back on the road.
To wherever we're going next. We don't know yet.
Are you happy?
Hi Kira. How you doing?
I'm having a good time.
We're back. Ready?
Three... Two...
One... Go! Go! Go!
And they're off. I don't know why we're running full speed.
But we are. Apparently.
All you have to do to get the dogs happy and wore out is
put them in the deep for a few hours and let them go swim in the lake.
She's out. Completely out.
Look at Eleanor.
She's like falling off the couch over there.
I think they had a pretty good day.
And they're not actually that wet.
So I don't think I'm going to have to dry them.
Alright. I won't wake you up.
Goodness. That was such a good nap.
Holy cow. You girls would have slept for the rest of the day.
Yeah? You're all dry.
I don't actually have to dry you. Which is nice.
We got them wet first and then rode around in the Jeep.
Because that way they would dry off.
I should probably do the mushroom check.
Hasn't been too hot today.
Mushroom check again. I mushroom checked this morning when I came out with them.
Usually in the afternoon when it's really sunny.
I don't see any.
Sometimes we get more.
I don't see any. I think we're good.
Do the dance Kira. Do the dance. Do the dance.
Yeah. I don't see any mushrooms.
That's good. Look at how good Jamie's grass grew over there.
There's a few spots where the dogs have definitely tore it up.
We thought about fencing off some of this.
To get this to come back as well.
For now at least it's nice that it's not pure mud underneath there.
That makes a noise.
Go do your thing ma'am.
Go on. We're not going back in to play with your toy.
That's right Kira wants to play with her toy.
You did so much stuff today. You had so much fun. Don't you dare lay down.
Go do your thing.
You can't really tell when I have the lights on, but it is clear tonight.
I didn't get a northern lights alert tonight.
Ours is way back there already.
It's crazy what a difference just a couple of days can make.
It's beautiful out here this evening.
The humidity finally broke.
It's a beautiful day. It's a good day today.
I don't know where we're going, but we're going. See you later. Bye.
Ready to come in? Ready to go to bed?
Alright you guys. We hope you enjoyed today's video.
As always, thanks so much for watching. They're already gone.
Thanks for subscribing. Stay positive. Dream big. We will see you again soon.
They're running for the good treats in the bedroom.
There you are.
Say goodnight to everybody. Say goodnight Pawdience.
It's okay mom. Give me a goodnight treat.
