Jalen Brunson Reveals SHOCKING Truth on Injury...

Jalen Brunson has revealed the truth on his injury that he suffered throughout the NBA Finals, and this is after he has won a ton of awards this season, having one of the most decorated years in not only NBA history, but also for the Knicks as a franchise, the most decorated year in their entire history. We are going to go over all this because there's a lot to discuss on the New York Knicks right now and Jalen Brunson specifically. As the greatest player in the franchise's history, Brunson played through the NBA Finals with a wrist injury that required an operation. The operation is done. There's a lot of thought on whether he will be able to start the season or not or be out for the beginning of it. But guys, now Jalen Brunson has revealed the truth on it and real quick before we dive into that, make sure to go ahead and subscribe to Knicks Digest. 66% of viewers are currently unsubscribed. It's completely free to do. We have Knicks videos every day and we're closing in on 27,000 subscribers. So thank you guys for the support. Let's keep it up and let's jump in to what happened with Jalen Brunson because he did reveal everything on his wrist injury, how it happened, where it happened, and what exactly caused this entire injury. And here's what he had to say. When asked by Alan Hahn, Brunson said, there isn't a play I remember where I got injured. I just remember being at the free throw line in game two of the Eastern Conference Finals and my wrist started to feel weak. From that point, I was figuring out what's going on, how to proceed because I wasn't going to get any surgery then. I mean, obviously, he's not going to go get a surgery at that point. When we look at Jalen Brunson, we understand who he is. That man will drag his body throughout whatever it takes so he can win. Brunson's always been a winner. He wanted this so badly. He knew this was the year that he could go out and win an NBA championship. And well, he did. The Knicks are the 2026 NBA Finals champions. It never gets old saying that. And Brunson is the biggest reason why that is. I mean, we look at the way he played through the playoffs. The man was downright incredible. For a while, Karl-Anthony Towns was running the show. I don't want that to go unheard of. I know Karl-Anthony Towns was absolutely huge here. But at the end of the day, it's Brunson's world that we're all living in. The man played 37 minutes a night. He put up 28.4 points in six decisions, 46% from the field and 36% from three with 1.2 steals per game. Remember, Brunson and Shea were getting compared because everyone thought when the Knicks were in the Finals, they were going to end up playing the Thunder. Even throughout that Thunder's first series, the Thunder were widely expected to beat them. In real time, you heard everyone on one of those talk shows. I want to say it was PTI or something. When they mentioned, they looked at Brunson's numbers next to Shea and everyone in real time was like, wow, wait, Brunson's numbers are better than SGA's this season in the playoffs. Brunson has been the better player. And well, Brunson just won the award for the best NBA player at the ESPYs. Brunson filled up his shelf even more. I mean, obviously, he's an NBA Cup champion. The NBA Cup MVP. And well, frankly, I can tell you the list or we can all just look at it together. So let's do that. As Sleeper and X mentioned, we're going to have to actually make this bigger because that's how many awards Jalen Brunson has won. Look, he is a 2026 NBA champion. The 2026 NBA Finals MVP. The 2026 Eastern Conference MVP. The 2026 Eastern Conference champion. The 2025 NBA Cup champion. The 2025 NBA Cup MVP. The 2026 Shooting Stars champion. The best NBA player ESPY. The best championship performance ESPY. The best male athlete ESPY. And the best team ESPY. Mouthful. The man is the greatest Knick that we've ever seen. He is number one all time, if you ask me. He brought the Knicks championship in modern Knicks history. No one else has done that. And he did it by putting up 45 points in a closeout game on the road. Most anyone has ever scored in a closeout NBA Finals game on the road in the history of the sport. The only people really above him were Giannis when he did that at home when he put up 50. Yeah, Giannis' game was better. I'm not going to sit here and argue that. But what Brunson did for the Knicks has been something we've never seen before. What we're experiencing right now is not normal. I mean, we've talked about this for a while now. This entire experience is completely abnormal. When they were in the Finals, I kept saying, yeah, the Knicks are in the NBA Finals. That's weird to say. And they won the NBA Finals. I did a 30-minute video where I basically just went through a series of emotions, laughing and crying and not making any sense. And then at the same time, we look at this team, and they were historic. And all this happened. I mean, they were all great. Don't get me wrong. They all played huge parts in this. But at the end of the day, this was because of Jalen Brunson. He was the man who got this all done. Karl-Anthony Towns was huge. He was one of the best players throughout the entire run. Putting the ball into Cat's hands worked, and he facilitated. He played the best basketball he ever played. Jordan Clarkson, who we could see in this photo, is great. OG's not facing the camera, but he's there. Jose Alvarado is right behind Karl-Anthony Towns' right shoulder. In the back, we see the man who orchestrated it all. Towards the corner, next to Jordan Clarkson, we see good old Leon Rose, who was there. Leon's rare camera appearance. Once again, he's gotten on camera more because he conducted one of the greatest teams in history. But look, overall, when we look at Jalen Brunson and everything that's happened, we're seeing that everything is coming up well. He played with a wrist injury, and it didn't matter. I mean, the Knicks won every ESPY. They won the championship. They won the NBA Finals MVP. A lot of that was behind Brunson. And the fact that he could do all this with an injured wrist is insane. Now, there was a lot of talk about when he did injure his wrist, so he said it wasn't a specific play. So, it does make me wonder what exactly the true nature of the injury was. It was probably some form of overwork. Look, Brunson has played a lot of basketball recently. A lot. It's one of the reasons why teams rarely ever go back-to-back in the NBA. You play so much more basketball than other teams. I mean, let's take... I actually had a dream last night where I was celebrating the Knicks win, but for some reason, the Pistons won the NBA Finals. I was hanging out with Cade Cunningham. I know that doesn't sound interesting. The reason I'm mentioning that is because no one ever wants to hear about someone's dreams ever. But the only reason I mention that is let's say the Pistons are great again next year, which they will be, and they're now more experienced. They lost to the Cleveland Cavaliers in the second round. The Knicks, they went two more full rounds than the Detroit Pistons. Now, the games actually played were similar. The Pistons played 14 games. The Knicks played 19. It wasn't that much of a difference. But still, those extra rounds, that extra time usually will add up. Luckily, the Knicks didn't play a lot of playoff games. They ran through the NBA throughout the playoffs outside of two early losses, and then they got multiple weeks off. So the Knicks are a bit of a rare situation here. But still, their best player, the man who had the most pressure on him, did end up dealing with an injury. We've seen that happen multiple times in playoff basketball when you make the NBA Finals. Tyrese Halliburton had the same thing happen to him during the Finals. The Thunder looked exhausted, and they looked beat up outside of Shea. A lot of these teams that win the NBA Finals show up beat up because they played so much extra basketball than everyone else, except for the team they beat in the NBA Finals. It's hard to make it back to the Finals. It's hard to win twice in the NBA Finals. So the fact is, it's so impressive that we're able to see Brunson do all this. It's so rare you get a player this legendary. I mean, overall, we look at the most 30 points on 60 true shooting playoff games in the last five postseasons. Jalen Brunson is one. He's got 22. He's above Shea, Luka, Jokic, Jason Tatum, Steph Curry, Donovan Mitchell, Jalen Brown, Anthony Edwards, Sevan Booker. On top of that, we look at the best fourth quarter net rating in the 2026 NBA Playoffs with a minimum of four games played and 8.0 fourth quarter minutes per game. Jamal Shedd was number one by 0.1. Jalen Brunson was number two. Now again, because this is net rating, we know how the Knicks were in the fourth quarter. Obviously, OG, Carl Anthony Towns, Mikael Bridges, all being on that list is unsurprising. Also, shout out to two other Knicks, former Knicks on this list and Julius Randle and RJ Barrett. And then obviously, we continue to move on and we see the Knicks. They were led by an absolute demon. The most touches per game in the 2026 NBA Playoffs. Jokic was won by a country mile. And again, he only played six games. We then look at Brunson, who went through an entire run and touched the ball more than anyone else outside of Nikoli Jokic. So guys, overall, what I'm trying to say here is the fact that he had this heavy of a workload, had this much success. And outside of the first two games of the NBA Finals, Jalen Brunson showed up and showed out and then got a wrist operation. What more can you want from the greatest player in the history of your franchise? I am so grateful that we have the captain. It'll never get old. I am what a run it's been, guys.
