AI GeneratedThe discussion centers on the political tension surrounding Donald Trump's speech on election security. The speakers critique the Democratic response, specifically Kamala Harris, and argue that concerns over foreign interference from China are valid. They also advocate for stricter voting measures, such as mandatory voter ID and a return to paper ballots to prevent hacking.
It's interesting you mentioned that the Democrats as well that they kind of have no moral high
ground to stand on. Kamala Harris before Donald Trump's speech posted on X before the president
gets on television tonight to peddle lies and conspiracy theories. Here is what you need to
know the 2020 election was not stolen we won and he lost. I mean she posted this you're hearing
other kind of left-leaning people and other Democrats just trying to get ahead of Donald
Trump's speech already trying to say don't listen to him and it's interesting if if outlets like
CNN are not going to air Donald Trump's speech no wonder more and more people are turning to
platforms like X to YouTube to watch it to actually get some information because CNN's
not going to give it to them. Well and this is the thing I mean that CNN's argument would be I presume
and that you know we are here to interpret the news and and then tell you about it
but the fact is that you can go to a hundred other places and get direct what what the president says
so that that that jig is up right it just doesn't work anymore you can't you can't run with that
excuse. As for what Kamala Harris says about you know the lies and the conspiracy theories the
election wasn't stolen. Donald Trump and some may infer that that's what he was saying but he did
not suggest that the election was stolen in that speech. What he was saying is that there has been
election interference by China. Now two things could be true at once it could well be true that
the election was not stolen and that any interference that China or any other country
did run was not enough to sway an election but there was still election interference and so I
would say to people like Kamala Harris are you not concerned about foreign interference in US
elections or is it only when you make it up about it being Russia? It's such a good point it's
interesting as well looking at some of the reporters in the White House press briefing
room speaking to Caroline Leavitt again before the speech before Donald Trump had said anything
already asking. CNN was running that press conference at the beginning when Trump was on so
they were I saw the head Caroline Leavitt up there so like here's what was said 30 minutes ago not
what's being said now. But even then I don't know if it was a CNN reporter but a reporter was kind
of grilling Caroline Leavitt almost asking why Donald Trump is kind of bothering to even go there
why are you even looking into election security I mean what country do you want to live in?
Well China presumably where they don't have elections I mean there's a reason there's
no election interference in China because they don't bloody well have them I mean if you're not
worried about election interference by a country like China in the United States or anywhere else
I mean you know don't believe that it's not happening elsewhere or that they wouldn't
attempt to do it elsewhere. You've got rocks in your head unless you want to end up like China
and have Xi Jinping running the joint or some other you know dictator you should be concerned
about it you should need to think about whether you're concerned about it. I know the fact that
the Democrats are upset that Donald Trump is revealing this information says a lot about them
he of course made this speech ahead of the midterms reference the midterms and he also
talked about the importance of of passing the Save America Act now of course this is to ensure
that people present voter ID proof of citizenship and that's an 80-20 issue most Americans believe
that you should have voter ID to cast your vote. I've never understood the argument against
showing an ID to vote in this business about oh you know marginalized people which which in the
United States I'm assuming they mean black people and homeless people right now now I don't know
maybe things are vastly different in the US but I walk around Sydney you know major global city
and you see homeless people on the street they sleep in the city they've all got mobile phones
um and they've obviously gone and bought that mobile phone and used some form of ID at sim
card whatever right so I simply don't accept that just en masse uh marginalized or minorities
in the US don't have any form of ID that they could take to go and vote it's basically because
they want to leave open the loophole loophole illegality of people who can't vote going to
vote or posing as someone else or whatever it might be why else would you be against having
voter ID and of course the other point he raised was these um electronic voting machines yes and
and there's been you know a lot of conjecture around whether or not they're fiddled with and
they produce all sorts of weird votes and whatever a lot of that has been dispelled but I've always
been concerned with electronic voting in any manner because it is open to compromise if it's
connected to an internet system that is something that a China or someone could hack into yeah if
you could put a USB in a machine it's a system that can be hacked into the one thing that can't
be hacked is a pen and piece of paper why we have electronic voting I know it might sound
archaic to say I just don't understand because it is fundamentally insecure even if uh those
insecurities are not used it's an insecure method we're talking about democratic elections here I
wouldn't be running the risk yep no I 100% agree with you Caleb Caleb Vaughn thank you so much for
making the time I know you've had a very busy afternoon but it's always wonderful to get your
analysis thank you for joining us pleasure thanks
