So fans from all over are celebrating this win for Spain. Many, in fact, right
here in north texas. In fact, for Sam Gannon spent the day with fans in
uptown Dallas, getting their reaction to history in the making. Well, I'm here
with the owner of the tapas restaurant in uptown, Ildefonso Jimenez and
Ildefonso. What does it mean for you to have all of your people here watching
the World Cup final at your restaurant? Well, it's a very special moment for me
in the to show everybody in Dallas that we have a small spanish community that
supports me and supports the team. And it's fun to have anybody come here and
watch the game and enjoy the game. You're a little superstitious. I know
this because you wear the same shirt, right? Tell the people why. Well, in
soccer, once you do something and everything comes out the way you want
it, you stick with it. So I've been wearing this shirt since the beginning.
We've been winning, so I'm not going to change it now. It was the first time
that one anybody went crazy. What are the emotions with Spain winning the
World Cup for the first time since 2010? We're so excited. It's so well
deserved. This is our, it's our win. Go Spain. You're from Madrid. Yes. So what
does this mean for you to see your friends celebrating this today?
Everything. I mean, I love this guy. We've known each other for 20 years.
We've, uh, I'm a bit of an Argentinian fan. He's a Spain fan, but we love each
other through it all. And he knows, he knows he has a house in Madrid. It's so
ecstatic. Honestly, they did a great job. They really deserved it. So they got
next time. It was a home.
España, Portugal, Morocco. So the defending champions will play at home.
What do you think about the match today? And the fame comes out victorious. It
was a very tight, very controlled game. Spain had the game that they wanted to
play, and that was it. Once the one goal went in, I knew they were going to win.
What does it mean to you to see so many people gather here at your
restaurant?
