You mentioned how there could be a bunch of guys that could trade. I think you said, like,
nine, ten guys, which is not crazy. It's easy. It's easy, too, like, comfortably.
Yeah, this is, like, not out of the realm of possibility here.
Which player would you refuse to trade even if the market loves him, right?
I'm not saying this player is untouchable, but you would personally just want him around the
team because you're like, hey, I like the fit, maybe the future projection, maybe the age,
etc., whatever it may be. Who's that player for you? I have one. I'm curious to hear who yours
would be. We're not talking about, like, our untouchables, if you will. We're talking guys
that are out of line. Those guys are out of line. So we're taking out Soto. We are taking out
Carson Dantzler, AJ Ewing, and Nolan McClain. Taking them out. And I'll put Lindor in that
category. Let's throw Lindor in that category just because he's going to be an easy pick otherwise.
So Francisco Alvarez. Oh, so we have the same pick. We have the same pick there. Yeah. Yeah.
It has to be. It has to be Alvarez. He's 24. He's hitting nukes. He's not playing terrible.
The defense I'm still not happy with, but, like, there's just too much there, right? I feel like
even if the Mets maximize the return for him now, a return for him a year or two years from now
could be two times if he just continues to click and put it all together. The uncertainty
that outweighs, I think, the risk with someone like Alvarez or if things go absolutely terrible
for him. I think there's a lot of still optimism with him and his future given his age. Like,
the amount of catchers that are at his age doing what he's doing are slim enough. You know, he's
literally been top five to top ten in baseball and every offensive metric has a catcher since
arriving in the league for the most part. Yes, I agree. Defense needs work, but it's one of those
things where as time continues going up, he can stay healthy. God willing, he'll get there. We've
seen it. He was 21-22, looking like one of the better defensive catchers in baseball. I know
it's in there somewhere, Alvarez. He just needs to continue to find it.
