Deadly officer-involved shooting video: APD update

The Austin Police Department is investigating a fatal officer-involved shooting of a 17-year-old Black male on Baden Lane. After receiving a 911 call reporting a person with a gun, officers responded and shot the individual when he reached for his waistband. It was later discovered that the youth had no firearm, only a water bottle, and had placed the 911 call himself.
