Megyn Kelly unleashes brutal verdict on Meghan Markle’s Emmy-nominated show
Jul 25, 2026
Meghan Markle just scored her first ever Emmy nomination,
celebrated it with her whole team on Instagram, and within 24 hours, one very vocal critic called it
possibly the worst thing to happen to television in five years, so let's unpack this whole mess.
With Love, Meghan just landed a daytime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lifestyle Series,
going up against a different breed, George to the Rescue, The Motherhood, and The Wizard of Paws.
Meghan posted a genuinely sweet Instagram tribute, thanking her crew and producers,
calling the nomination a huge congratulations moment for the whole team behind the camera.
Not everyone was celebrating, though. Meghan Kelly tore into the nomination on her podcast
the very next day, calling the show hideous and joking she'd forgotten just how cringe it was,
even replaying a clip where Meghan talks about elevating ordinary moments. Kelly went further,
mocking the show's aesthetic and saying Meghan clearly still has enough star power left to
score an Emmy nod, even if she called the recognition itself meaningless.
Comedian Adam Carolla piled on, too, comparing the whole experience to eating trail mix out of
an ashtray and declaring award shows in general have basically lost all relevance.
Here's the twist that makes this whole story extra messy.
With Love, Meghan actually got cancelled by Netflix after just two seasons,
despite featuring guests like Tan France, Mindy Kaling, and Chrissy Teigen,
and was produced alongside Meghan's own lifestyle brand, As Ever.
So critics are essentially asking how a cancelled, modestly rated show
landed a nomination at all, while supporters are calling the backlash exactly what it always is,
relentless pile-on energy every single time Meghan gets good news.
Social media reactions are split right down the middle, too, some agreeing wholeheartedly
with Kelly's takedown, others accusing her of specifically targeting Meghan yet again.
Either way, the 53rd annual Daytime Emmy Awards air October 30th at the Hollywood Palladium,
so we'll find out soon enough if this nomination actually turns into a win.
