AI GeneratedShweta details her rejuvenating two-day stay at Nirava Ayurveda in Kerala, a retreat blending yoga, meditation, naturopathy, and Ayurveda. The experience emphasizes a holistic approach to wellness through personalized medical consultations, detox treatments, and luxury accommodations designed for deep physical and mental restoration.
Two days of ayurvedic massages, beauty treatments and being in nature and this is the glow. But wait,
let me tell you from the beginning. Hi everyone and welcome to Sugar Spice Nice. My name is Shweta
and in this video I am starting my day at the beautiful Nirava Ayurveda retreat in Kerala. I'm
going to tell you all about the location details and stuff later because right now I'm straight up
starting with my relaxing stay here. I started my morning with a beautiful yoga session. Imagine
doing yoga here surrounded by greenery all around and you get a really really good stretch in the
morning as well. I followed it up with a little bit of meditation as well and then I head straight
to breakfast. Nice warm dosas. There was even ragi dosa. I enjoyed it with sambar and a side of fruits.
And yesterday I did have my doctor's consult here as you have to do in any wellness retreat
and we kind of decided a mix of naturopathy and ayurveda for my two days of relaxing retreat
here. And now I'm straight heading to the therapy room where we can start this process.
At Nirava they use an integrated approach to wellness and healing. For me they're starting
with an acupuncture session. This helps with stress, anxiety and also helps with pain management.
It's a widely used supplementary treatment. These needles are poked in the meridian points and each
meridian point is connected to major organs of the body. I got it in my forehead too. It was my
first time and honestly it didn't hurt. Multiple sessions for this are recommended but the doctor
said that even one session does make a slight difference. I'll report back to you guys about that.
Next is acupressure. It starts by applying pressure on the forehead. The point between
the eyebrows is great for those who have migraines and even this point here. Even
massaging the temples feels great. This is something that can also be done at home.
Next is this tool with the pokey edges that I rolled between my palms and it honestly felt
like all of the points in my palms are getting massaged at the same time. This feels so good.
Then was pressure on the fingertips with this tool which I've honestly experienced even in
a foot massage before. Then I tried this acupressure ring. It's something that I've
always wanted to try. It's pokey all throughout and you're supposed to wear it and run it up and
down like this and it's small but mighty. Like you can see the impression of the pokes on my fingers.
Then comes the marma mat. The soles of the feet have points that can provide well-being to the
whole body and when you're walking on this mat it actually ends up massaging all of those points. So
I definitely recommend trying this. I actually have the exact same mat at home and I do it for
about five minutes almost every day. Now it's time to cool down the body and no better way for it
than a traditional mud bath. This is the mud used in mud therapy and it's a natural way of detoxifying
the body and regulating circulation. It's pure mud like no clay nothing and it's sourced from
Coimbatore. It's applied to the whole body in a thick layer and one has to let it dry in the sun.
The whole procedure takes about an hour including a shower and after that the skin feels so smooth
and amazing. Some of their therapy rooms are really really big. One of a kind that I've seen
because it's got direct light like there's enough privacy. They're also going to be putting blinds
but you can also feel that natural light. With all my travel I'm always looking forward to foot
massages and this one is a pada abhayanga, a traditional ayurvedic foot massage and then
comes the rigorous pressing. A pada abhayanga almost helps relieve tiredness instantly and it
adds life to the feet. Now it's time for an ayurvedic face cleanup. It begins with a herbal
foaming face wash that cleans any makeup or skincare away and is followed by five minutes of
steam. Steam helps open pores which is great because after this we followed it with a scrub
that is massaged into the skin after mixing it with water. Now this didn't feel too abrasive
but I could feel it take off all of my whiteheads and dead skin. Next is a fuller's earth or a
multani mitti face pack. This is mixed with water and left to dry for a few minutes and the last
step is an ayurvedic massage using an ayurvedic cream. This is such a different face massage I
feel more rigorous and it involves tapping almost lightly slapping the face and massaging with
really firm pressure. This is what my skin looks like after it feels clean and refreshed. With all
these therapies back to back I reached lunch super late but thankfully I got to indulge in rasam rice
and they actually offered me some coconut water because I found it supremely spicy.
That was one busy morning. By the way I'm all like freshened up and all so you guys let me
know if you can see any difference or any like glow in my face. I feel like my skin is more
smoother more softer to touch but I'm yet to see that facial glow probably after tonight's sleep.
But for now I'm just gonna chill in my room. I think there's a lot to do even in the room
if you're like a lazy person like me or you can actually walk around the property.
Now this here is from what I hear a farm to table dining restaurant of sorts that's coming up. So I
can actually see the different plant beds where they're growing different herbs and from what I
hear guests can actually go plant their own herbs and even pluck herbs that are ready to use in
their food or in their drinks and I feel like that's such an engaging way to dine especially
if you have kids it's a very different way to keep them busy. I look forward to experiencing
this the next time that I'm here. Last treatment of the day it's Nasya. Works very well to clear
nasal passages and for anyone prone to a sore throat this is really helpful. It starts with
a light face massage with herbal drops. This almost feels like they're massaging the sinuses
to help release them and then this is followed by a steam. The steam has to be very nicely taken
for about five minutes and then they put you in a supine position where she put about eight drops
of this herbal medicated oil in one nostril and then I had to breathe as per her instruction and
then this followed with the other nostril as well. After that she gave me a few drops in my hand and
I was made to rub my hands while someone was rubbing the soles of my feet and the therapist
was gently massaging my face. At this point if you feel like the medicated oil is getting too
harsh you can spit it out. Then comes the inhalation of the medicated wig. Now this is
made with different herbs and inhaling the smoke is a key part of the Nasya process. So this can
feel a tad bit harsh for somebody trying Nasya for the first time. Trust me this treatment works
very very well for anybody who gets disturbed with cold and cough. Once this is done I had to
stay without food, water and direct air or cool air from the AC for about 30 minutes. So I basically
was just hanging out in the open greens. I think today is the day for me to run late for every
single meal because of therapies. I was late for my lunch and now I'm even late for my evening
snack. I was just coming back from Nasya and after Nasya you have to keep like a 30 minute gap
between eating anything. So that's why now I'm here and now I'm going to be having my tea.
Every evening they actually have snacks for their guests. The good thing about this place is that
anytime you feel a little hungry you can have fresh juice or fresh fruits or even a salad.
You can request them to make it for you and they will give it to you.
So last night I think I wrapped up really really early and I slept off and I'm still a little bit
sleepy. That's what happens you know when you're getting massages and you're in an environment
which is so calm and serene. At least me I tend to want to sleep a little bit more. But I woke up
early, I went for my yoga. It was such a good yoga session and then I proceeded to breakfast.
And now I'm actually just chilling, just walking around here. So this area is actually right
outside my room and there's like a little bit of an indoor green garden if you can say so. And I
walked from here to get out and this also feels really really nice. Now I'm heading for a walk
outside and then I'll probably go for my therapies. Today I'm going for rejuvenating therapies
starting with Abhyanga which is a full body oil massage. This happens with two therapists and
they use firm pressure to massage the body. It is aimed at soothing pain, relaxing the body and
calming the mind as well. It also increases blood circulation. This is a head to toe massage.
Next is Potli therapy. A muslin cloth that contains herbs and oil is heated on a double
boiler and then it is given as a shake or compress to the body. The oil from the massage before this
penetrates deeper due to the warm potlis and it helps lubricate the joints thereby relieving any
stiffness. After this a Kashayam prepared with milk and herbs is poured all through the body.
This Kashayam is warm. You can see they keep it on heat all throughout and it honestly feels like a
luxurious milk bath. After this they used a fermented rice and turmeric pack on my face.
This can actually be used on the full body but today I'm just trying it on my face. It's essentially
kanji turmeric pack. That's what the doctor called it and she said that it cools down the skin,
helps reduce any redness and also gives it a nice hydrated feel. After I tried this I felt like the
glow that it gave was unreal. If you guys are here then definitely try out their naturopathy
face treatments. Nirava Ayurveda also has their own products. These are wellness-based products,
supplements, beauty products. You can check out their entire range on their website. I'll leave
a link to that as well in the description box below. That concludes my therapies for today.
I think with full body treatments especially ayurvedic full body massages and treatments,
one feels like a true goddess. I mean where else can you imagine having a milk bath, having
medicated oil, being nicely massaged and having a compress which is so good. I don't think I've
found a warm compress based therapy which is as effective as the portly massage. So I think
I am finally feeling a little bit more awake, a little bit more fresh. It's my last day here
really. Tomorrow I have to leave at some point. I think I'm going to just take the rest of the day
to enjoy my time in this beautiful green environment. At least till the rest of the day.
I can't believe the two days have already passed since I've been here at Nirava. It's been a
pleasant stay experience and I particularly feel that the rooms here are very very different.
Firstly, they're quite big in size and as you guys saw I really enjoyed my chill time in the
room as well. The rooms are very modern yet they have a little bit of a traditional Kerala feel.
They almost feel like a more private vacation experience and one cannot
miss the smart tech in the rooms. Huge TV and of course Alexa enabled.
And they come equipped with a lap pool which is very cool and also very useful for guests
who need some kind of hydrotherapy or swimming for exercises but can't go to the main pool.
And the property is constantly developing. They're coming up with a restaurant,
a kids play area, a meditation area and more such amenities as well. Here at Nirava,
they're trying to make it a holistic wellness experience. Local seasonal food with a bit of
indulgence if you want. Comfortable stay options and then the best of naturopathy and ayurveda
under a single roof. So whether you're coming on your own or with your family,
you can be rest assured of having a relaxing time here.
You guys have seen what my typical day here was like so you know what you can expect when
you come here. Doctors here personalize the therapies and line of treatment basis every
individual's purpose of visit. So if you are coming for disease management, lifestyle issues,
pain management or simply for rejuvenation then Doctors Consult takes care of everything. Right
from panchakarma to naturopathy based healing techniques to physiotherapy, they have it all.
In fact, I have experienced their ayurveda exclusively before when I was here at their
