We venture just outside the heart of Moab to check out a new trail: Fisher Mesa. This trail might just be the worst trail in Moab.
With nothing but the trail marked on our maps, we scouted the surrounding area, and a dead-end spur looked promising. Along the way, we hit rocky obstacles and some of the most brutal pinstriping we've ever encountered. What started as a promising route quickly turned into a rough, overgrown, and challenging adventure.
Is this the worst trail in Moab? Watch and decide for yourself.
What's going on, guys?
We are back with another video.
My name's Armando and I'm Nicole.
And in today's video, we are just outside of Moab
on the north end of the La Salle Mountains exploring Fisher Mesa.
Yeah, so that's a brand new trail we've never checked out before.
And we are joined with some friends.
So joining us on this trail ride, you might recognize
some of the other vehicles you may not.
Leading the convoy today is Dewey, and his channel is Colorado Mall
Crawlers. Behind him is Cary, and his channel is Trail Travelers.
Then it's our ZR2.
And then at the tail end of the convoy
is Drew in his Xterra.
So we're going to go see what this trail is all about
and hopefully find some really cool things along the way.
This whole little section down in here is kind of just tight.
We get a little bit of pinstripe in.
It's not too, too bad.
But the majority of this is just kind of washed out a little bit off camber stuff.
Here we'll flex out a little bit here.
More off camber at about 18 degrees of roll there.
The highest number I've seen so far is about 20, 21.
So nothing too crazy, but you can definitely see
in between the little peaks of trees that I feel like the view on this trail
towards the end is going to be pretty spectacular.
As we continued, the trail transitioned into some slower rock obstacles,
which is always a welcome surprise.
So we got our first kind of bigger obstacle.
First one I've seen so far.
It's just kind of a two double step here.
You jump off of, just slowly go off of it here.
She goes, make sure the back doesn't hit it.
We're good.
So one thing about this trail,
if you don't like pinstripes, probably don't do this trail
because there definitely is some sections where it opens up
and then there's sections like this that are just
you kind of squeeze on by through the trees.
So just a forewarning, if you are considering to do this trail,
there is pinstriping along this trail, 100%.

Just when we thought the trail had opened up
and we were finally leaving the pinstriping behind, it narrowed back up again.
Some sections were so overgrown that it felt like we were driving down an ATV trail.
After that painful pinstriping experience, the trail once again opened up.
But this time we were in for a treat.
We were approaching a meadow where the trees began to thin out
and open us up to the incredible views surrounding us.
After soaking in the views, we continued pushing on towards the end of the trail.
This section had us navigating a narrow shelf road
that wound its way up the rocks.
We finally reached the top of the shelf road, and after a short distance,
the trail once again opened up for the final few miles before reaching the end.
Well, we have arrived here at the end of the trail,
and the trail just kind of abruptly ends.
So you can see Carrie's Jeep right there.
That is the end of the trail.
And, well, quite frankly, the view is a view,
but it's I feel like on the way here,
we had so much better of a view than here.
And for the amount of distance that we covered, there are so many places
in Moab that have a better view and a more enjoyable trail with less pinstripes.
But hey, that's the art of exploring.
Armando said it best.
It's a view. Yeah, it's a view.
So it's that's the art of exploring coming out.
Sometimes you find amazing stuff.
Sometimes you don't.
So, but there is amazing stuff all around there.
So we did have a good high likelihood that this could have been amazing.
Yeah, but it's a view.
Yeah, it is a view.
So now, after seeing these views, you're probably wondering,
how can we call this just a view?
Well, the reason for that is because this is the view from the ground.
As beautiful as it is, it's not necessarily the most spectacular view
compared to some other trails in the area.
We headed back down the trail,
which meant even more pinstriping to deal with on the way out.
Let me know in the comments
if you guys think this trail was worth all the pinstriping.
I hope you guys enjoyed the video.
