Sneak Peek: National Chicken Wind Day

A national chicken wing day is this Wednesday but we are kicking things off a little bit early for you from East Coast Wings Plus Grill in Manassas franchise owner Lisa Ware joining us this morning with a preview on how they plan to celebrate. You know we were just talking about makeup I wonder if I could use wing sauce as my makeup because I'm diving in. This is awesome. Welcome Lisa. This is just so cool. It's the countdown to wing day but we're about to dive in right now. Absolutely. So I have a little bit of a spread for you guys. Okay. East Coast Wings and Grill which we're located in Manassas. We have our heat levels which goes from mild, medium, hot, extra hot, volcanic and insane. Volcanic? Yes. Oh. So what makes it a little different is that we have our flavors. We have over 50 flavors and with the flavors there if you want to think of it as being virgin it's virgin and then you can add your heat to your flavors. So you can make it your own. So every order is made to order with National Chicken Wing Day. We're like what better way to come out and showcase our fabulous wings. We actually have a competition going on right now with a lot of our flavors comes from our guests believe it or not or some of our employees. So we have a competition going on and on National Chicken Wing Day we're gonna announce the winner actually. The winner gets a $2,500 cash prize. Wow. That's amazing. Okay. So these are I didn't put the flavor on purpose because I wanted I didn't want you guys to have any pre-judgment based on the names. So we have some mystery flavors that the top three guests submitted. Okay. So it's in number one, two and three. Now I noticed Makia went for the flat. I'm a drumstick type of guy. I'm a flats kind of girl but I'll get some drumsticks too. I don't discriminate. Yes. So that's flavor number one. Okay. To the wings. Cheers. Any promotions going on as well for Chicken Wing Day? Yes absolutely. So Wednesday every Wednesday usually it's kids eat free at East Coast Wings but for this Wednesday in honor of National Chicken Wing Day and also our mascot who is Coop it's you know get it chicken coop. It is his first birthday that so we're gonna go ahead and allow kids to eat all day for free. We have some prizes for them some fun things for them to do while they join with us. We'll give you we always have specials and drinks wings for that day. Okay. So what are you getting? What flavor are you getting from this? I'm trying to nail it. It's not spicy. Not at all. It's a little bit sweet just a little a tad bit. Okay. All right. So are you gonna tell us or? I'm gonna wait till you guys try it. Just a little sample. You don't have to eat all of it. I know it's messy. It's messy. Here's the best part. They're actually. But I do want you to in order tell me which one you know you might like first, second, third. And then folks that actually get a chance to come on Wednesday will they actually take part in the same event? No they won't but they I mean they can always be able to order. I know the main ingredient in this I can tell. Mayo. Mango? Mayo. Okay. Okay. She said okay. You have to wait. Okay. The last one. Okay. All right let's go. And so I'm curious does anyone ever start with mild and eventually end up with insanity? Do they cover the whole spectrum if you will? I think they pretty much for the most part know like where they want to start when they come in and honestly some people they don't want any heat level on their wings. They just want it naked which is quite fine. They dip it in a ranch or homemade ranch and we have blue cheese if you prefer. I know what this is too. Yeah you know what that one is. What do you think? Teriyaki ginger? Yep there you go. You're close. You're close. Really? A little soy too I tasted. Uh huh. Uh huh. Right on. All right so I'm gonna rank them. So you guys tell me in your order. Ladies first. I'll go first. All right cool. I will go with this middle one. Number two I believe. Okay. Number three coming in a strong second and we'll wrap up in the end with number one. Okay. Okay. For me I like the teriyaki soy situation. Situation. Uh huh. Uh huh. And yeah I still don't know exactly which one that is. And then the mayo one. Okay. Okay. Okay. So what do we get? All right so this first one is our barbecue peppercorn. Wow. That was submitted. So um it does we do have um some flavors that were mixed together. Again these are guests that came up with it. Um so this one is our Carolina ranch. Again that's um one that a guest submitted as well. Okay. And then this one is a Korean Thai. So yes it does have a little soy in there. A little kick. A little banger. These I didn't give you guys with heat because I didn't know how hot you could take it. So these are virgin. Um which is what our flavors are. But you could add like the heat level to your wings. Yeah the key if this tv thing doesn't work out you have a chance to do something all things chicken wings. Because you were good. I love a little guessing game. I'm off to a big booty over here.
