Las Vegas Raiders DE Maxx Crosby on Raider Nation and Mentoring New Rookies

I think we have the right character guys, but ultimately we got dogs. You know what I mean? What is the city means to you now after everything that you've been through? Yeah, I mean, I love the city. Ever since I've been out here, it's just been incredible. Las Vegas is the greatest city in the world, in my opinion. I've been in a lot of places and they've always had my back. It's not just Vegas, it's Oakland, it's LA, it's Raider Nation around Steve. It's all over the world. So all the fans supporting me, I appreciate it. And everybody that shows up, we want all the fans to fill that Elysian Stadium with silver and black, you know what I mean? Not all the other colors, and that's helped us as the players and organization to win a lot more football games than that. As you begin to report five days early for camp, how much did you benefit? I thought it was awesome. I was actually really excited about that, just so I can kind of get a head start on the vets. I didn't have any OTA reps, I haven't played football since literally last year. So I was excited to get back in the building, kind of get warmed up again, get back out there. I did a walk here on Friday with all the rookies, and doing all the workouts and stuff with the rookies. So I felt like a rookie again, which is a little weird. But it was awesome, just kind of get my feet wet before the vets got us out. Hey Max, to piggyback on that, and you're talking about being here with the rookies. It's very well known that you like to mentor, you hold sacks on it. How does it feel to mentor this new group of people, and what does that mean to you? It means the world. We need everybody to win, and we're ultimately, we're here to win. We're all on this path together, whether you're a rookie or a ten-year guy, it doesn't matter. You gotta come in with the mindset that you're gonna help win football games. So I think this rookie class has been awesome so far. We'll learn a lot about everybody, more as this camp goes on, as the season goes on, but so far they've been awesome. I think we have the right character guys, but ultimately we got dogs. You know what I mean? There's a lot of guys that play football at a high level, and they gotta prove that to the vets and to these coaches. And I feel like they're doing a good job of that. I think the work ethic, that's one of the hardest things. Either you come in with that mindset, you're gonna put in the work, or you're entitled and think you got the answers. I don't see any of that with these rookies, so they've been awesome. I've got to spend a ton of time with them. Like I said, I feel like a rookie. I've been at them hotel and doing my thing. I'm the only vet there, so it's me and all the rookies. It feels like for a while now, and they've been awesome.
