My Live AMA with the team from DEX Finance - https://www.dexfinance.com/
All right, this is James Pelton and I'm here with Mark from Dex Finance and I appreciate you guys
always hopping on for my AMAs and bringing in lots of thoughts and lots of good questions.
As we wait just a couple minutes for people to kind of start hopping on again, we're streaming
this directly to Facebook and to YouTube and to Twitter. So there's all sorts of people coming
from all different places. But what we need from you is if you could first hit the like button
just because YouTube, even if you don't actually like it yet, please hit the like button because
the YouTube algorithm looks for number of people watching to number of people who hit the like
button and that's what they use to show more people. So please do that. And I also want you
to comment. Again, I'm on vacation. I'm on a five week road trip of the Western United States. So
we went through Utah and Nevada and now we're in Sacramento and then we're going down to Monterey
later today. That rhymed. That worked out well. But if you could comment your favorite
vacation destination, I would appreciate that. And maybe me and my family will hit that sometime
here in the near future. So all right. Well, turning our attention to Mark from Dex Finance.
Mark, thank you so much for hopping on and talking through this with us today.
Could you start by introducing yourself and giving a little bit of your background?
Oh, man, absolutely. First off, thanks for having me, James. I've been looking forward
to this interview all week. Yeah, so I'm the CEO of Dex Finance, which is the project that I'm going
to be representing here talking about today. And then for myself, I've been in the crypto market
since around 2017, investing in mostly blue chip tokens like VeChain. And then I found success
through that. Discovered DeFi. The longer you're in crypto, the deeper the rabbit hole you go.
Right. So other than that, you know, in the real world, I have a retail business just east of
Toronto that I've been doing since about 2013. And then a couple of online businesses. And so
I'm just kind of a jack of all trades, entrepreneurial type. Okay, very cool. So
then the project we're talking about today is Dex Finance. I'm gonna go ahead and share my screen
here. And so I think what would be most helpful is if you could start by just kind of giving an
elevator pitch of like what you set out to build and what the goal of Dex Finance is.
Yeah, so it's gonna be a lot easier for those that are already familiar with three token protocols
or two forks, as they're known, or seniorage algorithmic tokens. So many different names
for the same thing. So how it works is we, you know, me and the CEO, Jake, CEO of Dex Finance,
we've been invested in a lot of these different protocols, tomb, forks of tomb across the
different networks. And through gaining experience through we realized that there are a number of
different flaws that we perceive and how those protocols operate. And there's a lot of ways that
we can improve upon it. And so that's what we set out to do. And so, you know, when breaking down
what we've got going on with Dex Finance, it's easier for sure to first talk about tomb and how
that works to kind of paint a picture for what's different about our protocol, different with our
protocol, and what really sets us apart and why we are truly an enticing place to put your money
right now, especially on the Binance Smart Chain. So getting into tomb. So how it works is it's a
three token system. You have your peg token, which ideally is supposed to fluctuate within a very
tight range of price motion. You have your share token, which is what you're getting as a reward
from farms and then what you're staking for further rewards. And so that kind of represents
the investor's faith in the protocol overall. Basically, as long as the protocol is keeping
peg and everything's working fine, and the share token is doing well, and your investment overall
is probably doing well, and you're making a good amount of money. Now, by collecting and farming
with the peg token and with the share token, you can collect more share tokens, and then you can
put them into what's typically called a boardroom or a masonry, depending on what project you're
in. In our case, we call it the regulation staking pool, and there's a reason for that.
And what happens is these protocols, in order to keep that peg, have to go through what's
called an expansion and a contraction phase. So during the expansion phase, as long as the
price is above peg, so let's say we're pegged to $1, which we are actually, so this is a perfect
example. So we're pegged to $1 USDC, and we want our peg token to also be roughly $1. Well,
if it's over $1, the protocol has to help bring the price down, and so it goes into an expansion
phase, and it mints new tokens. This is the traditional system. So when it mints new tokens,
it adds it to the supply, thus it brings the price down, and it kind of balances that.
And then inversely, when the peg token is underpegged, there is no more minting. It
halts minting to kind of let it catch up and get back up to peg. Now, in those two protocols,
there's also a third token called the bond token. And the whole premise behind that token is,
it's another mechanic to try and get back to peg. If the project's underpegged,
you can take your peg token that you have and say, you know, I know this is going to get back
to peg. I have faith in the project. I'm going to burn it to get a receipt that says that I've
burned it at a supply to help the project move forward. And then once we're back over peg,
I can redeem my receipt for a bonus. So essentially getting paid to have faith in the
protocol. So that's a system we completely removed from our project. That bonding system
is just, it makes sense on paper and in an ideal scenario. And when Tomb launched, it launched on
Phantom, which is a network that I think has people that are a little bit more, they understand
the niche complexities of some of these cutting edge DeFi protocols, and they understand that
there's a community aspect to it. And that you have to understand how it works to kind of keep
it going. Well, what ends up happening with these bonds tokens is people, you know, they're in their
project, it's underpegged, they have faith, they burn their peg token, the project struggles to
get back up to peg. Uncertainty and fear kind of wells up in them. Did I make a mistake? Oh man,
am I ever going to be able to cash out my bonds and get back to having my portfolio back in the
green? And then instead of becoming a thing where it's like, all right, we're back up to peg and I
can't wait to wait for us to be over peg and cashing a reward. It's like, I can't wait to
get back to peg hopefully so I can get my money out. And so I feel like that whole system is a bit
psychologically damaging on the people who participate in it, especially if the protocol
never gets back to peg, your money's just gone. You can't sell at a loss, you can't do anything,
you're just stuck holding the bag. So we replaced that system altogether and I'm going to touch on
that a little bit more in a bit. And so now I'm going to actually start to talk about
some of the differences between the traditional two model and what we've got going on here with
MoneyMarket protocol. So we've designed our protocol to always maintain peg. We launched
May 11th, the same day that Luna de-pegged and Bitcoin crashed. The market went into that huge
tailspin and it's been bloody ever since. Well, we've been operating mostly in the black or
growing amidst all that. We launched at about 500,000 TVL, we're sitting at like 2.8 million
right now. We've held peg for 21 days straight and we're going to continue holding peg for another
21 days straight because that's what we set out to do when we designed this project. So the main
differences are, another big difference rather I should say, is we don't have the bond token and
we've introduced a completely new asset called DEX ETF. So instead of our protocol paying people
out in freshly minted peg tokens, which can threaten the protocol that too many people are
selling, we instead have those freshly minted peg tokens go through a smart contract that looks at
the health of the protocol, looks at the health of the peg, takes into consideration a few different
factors and then instead pays users in a completely different third asset called DEX ETF. And so what
this ends up doing is making it so that our peg token isn't being mass sold just on a regular
basis and people are able to take profits from DEX ETF without feeling like it's going to hurt
the protocol in any way. So just to kind of wrap around to what I'm kind of getting at here with
why these changes were made, in the classic team protocol, there is a very big focus on the
community working together, understanding how it works and it's almost like a game.
If everyone works as a team and everyone acts in the best interest of the protocol,
then things can work out great in an ideal perfect scenario. But what happens is you mix
investor psychology and you mix market fluctuations and it kind of throws the whole thing on its head
and you end up seeing protocols get into weird desperate situations where they can't get back to
peg. So that's why we thought it was important, of course, to make sure that the peg system was
completely remodeled, the bonding system was completely removed. Anything that puts people
in a position that freaks them out and makes them uncomfortable because it's just not a good
idea conceptually, honestly, we just thought doesn't need to be in our protocol.
So instead of having bonding the way that other protocols have their bond tokens,
we do have a bonding method with DEX ETF, but instead it's very similar to what you would see
at Olympus DAO. So we have protocol owned liquidity bonding to go into our treasury
and then it's our treasury that's backing the peg of our token. So when that smart
contract is taking in the freshly minted U.S. DEX and is turning it into DEX ETF and distributing
it to other holders, it's first making sure that there is enough in the treasury to back
the peg no matter what. So right now, for example, we're, I think, $1.40, so 0.4 over peg,
and then we still have enough liquidity in our treasury to float the peg two times over.
So there's just, so it's worth mentioning, of course, how that works is when we're under peg,
our smart contract automatically buys up U.S. DEX at intervals until we're back to peg, right?
Using treasury funds. And I think that's the brief overview, I believe.
Yeah, no, very interesting. No, you did a great job explaining, yeah,
TuneForks, it is hard when you're coming to, yeah, when you're starting a new protocol that's based
on Tune, but then people have to kind of have an understanding of Tune before they can get into it.
So there's like a learning curve and then there's an extra learning curve. But I think, I think you
did a great job explaining that. And I think you're very right that like those bonds in traditional
TuneForks often become just worthless. Like I'm, there's, I won't mention any in particular,
but I'm sitting on, you know, I'll say thousands of dollars worth of bonds from TuneForks that
I'm sitting on like $80,000 worth of bonds in TuneForks that I don't know if I'm going to see
that money again, but that's it, right? That's the game with, especially with the bonding system.
It is what it is. No, that's very, that's very interesting. So how did you come up with this
idea? Like, where did this come from? You're kind of mashing, you know, some Olympus DAO and Tune,
where did all this come from? Oh man, so we're mashing concepts from a number of things. So
what happened, where it comes from is a year ago, we launched our first project,
which is the DEX IRA token. And just to briefly touch on that is it's a reflection token. So
anytime you see a token, that's like, you know, here's a buy tax, here's a sell tax and, you know,
holders get a percentage of people buying or selling in and out of the protocol. So you're
getting rewards by holding the token that really started trending really hard about a year ago.
And so you would see it in like baby Cardano, baby Red Bull, baby XRP. And it was like,
hold our token, collect more XRP, hold our token, collect more Cardano, which is cute.
But we wanted to kind of, and this was our foray into cryptocurrency. We weren't just going to
fork something if we were going to try and get into it, we're going to try and build something
that's fresh. Right. And so with that, we ended up creating the world's first multi-currency
reflection token. And so with our DEX IRA token, the whole premise of it, in terms of its
structuring and tokenomics, is we wanted to create a token that was perfect for long-term savings
and was a more like future focused mindset, you know, less degen. So how it works is like a
traditional Roth IRA, there's no, there's no reason not to buy into it and keep depositing
and developing your investment, but there is an early withdrawal fee, right, until you let your
investment mature. And so with DEX IRA, 0% buy tax, 30% sell tax, but after one year, it's
completely waived. In the meantime, you're able to log into our dashboard and choose between 20,
20 to 30 different whitelisted cryptocurrencies to passively earn your reflections on.
So you can hold DEX IRA as a, you know, a portfolio building saving tool,
and you can collect a wide variety of different cryptocurrencies all by holding one token
without having to manage multiple wallets, without having to manage multiple exchanges,
any of that. And so DEX IRA is also a part of the DEX ecosystem. It's required to take part
in our launch pads through our DEX pad launch pad platform. And it's a super useful token that
will always have its have its place in our ecosystem. And they'll always just have its
place as a long term savings vehicle. Okay, very cool. So yeah, we so we kind of see these,
yeah, all these different projects up here kind of along the top. And we talked about the money
market and kind of what that is. And then we talked about DEX IRA. Do you want to talk about
some other ones here to the DEX? Yeah, absolutely. Yeah.
Yeah. So DEX, I'll start with DEX ETF. DEX ETF is a brand new proprietary ETF system
that hasn't been seen before on Binance Smart Chain. So what it is, is each DEX ETF token
represents a basket of blue chip cryptocurrencies. If you're able to bring it up, you should be able
to actually see the the breakdown of the allocations on DEX ETF. So you're when with
each each DEX ETF token actually represents a chunk of Bitcoin, a chunk of Ethereum,
a chunk of cake, stablecoin, a few other tokens there. I think there's even some XRP in there,
too. But the main thing that we wanted to really do with the DEX ETF is create a system where we
can actually build upon it. And so that kind of ties into our DEX DAO, which is our governance
protocol where people who are invested in the protocol and holding DEX share can vote on which
tokens they want to see in the DEX ETF over time. So with our protocol, the money market, you know,
and other projects, you're getting paid in just a PEG token. In our protocol, you're getting paid
passively in like eight different tokens at once when you stake in our version of the boardroom.
Okay, wow, that's very, that's very interesting. So each of these products kind of they kind of
support each other. They're kind of working with each other. Is that correct? Yeah, everything's
built to to work together kind of like Voltron. Okay. Yeah, there you go. I think I think we
would be friends. So can you talk about so I think as if people come to the site,
they might be a little like overwhelmed of, hey, what are we what's the best way to get involved?
Like, what should we do? If we want to, you know, get into this ecosystem? What would you recommend
is like a starting strategy? If somebody has, we'll say $1,000 or $10,000? You know, how should
they think about which of these things they should be getting into in what order? Yeah, so I'd say,
so if you go to the farms, you know, we have our peg farm, our share farm. Those are two of the
prime spot places where you're going to be making, you're going to want to enter and be making a
passive daily income. Through those you earn DEX share and through DEX share you have a route to
earn DEX ETF passively as well. I recommend normally if someone's looking to get into the
protocol and you know, they don't want to waste time and they kind of just want to get in and
not worry that they've made a mistake at least so far. I say just hop into the peg pool because
it's, you know, we have the protocol set up to back that peg with our treasury. On top of that,
it's pegged to a stable coin, the best stable coin, USDC. There's just such a low risk of
impermanent loss. You're still getting over 1% daily on your income, on your investment.
And then, you know, you can just kind of from there take your time, learn about the protocol,
you know, figure out how much you would want to invest into the DEX share farm.
That one pays a bit more but DEX share as a token is going to be a little bit more volatile
just by nature of how these work. Now that being said, DEX share as a token is also the one where
people expect that they can make the most money, you know, if the share token blows up but that's
the one where if you get in at the wrong time, so to speak, you could lose quite a bit of money.
It's not as stable as the peg farm. Now, you know, when you're investing in farms like this,
especially even one that's as volatile as the DEX share BNB farm, you're really minimizing
risk. The longer you're invested in it, the more you're accumulating over time and building upon
your position, right? Because there's always going to be fluctuations in the market where
you'll be able to find really nice times to take profits, right? So gaining, so yeah, so the USD
DEX, USDC farm, very low chance, very low risk of impermanent loss. I should point out too that
on the very right there, you've got the wrapped DEX IRA DEX share farm. So DEX IRA is not only
the dopest reflection token on the market and also the only way to participate in our awesome
launchpads. It also gives you access to another farm, which pays again, at least 1% daily
currently. So you can always get value out of your DEX and because it's a reflection token,
and we've designed it so that you can wrap it, pair it and deposit it into the farm.
You're actually getting rewards on your reflections, as well as getting rewards in
your farm. So it's kind of a way for you to double up on the amount of income you're getting. It's
pretty cool. Yeah, that is pretty cool. So you can use kind of the Toon Fork side to produce
those farms to produce this DEX share. And then this regulation, that's kind of your version of
the boardroom. Is that correct? Yeah. So when you stake your DEX share here in the regulation,
or as our users like to call it, the regulator, for those who are Warren G fans,
you get paid DEX ETF passively over time. And right now I think it's 1.8% daily roughly.
And that'll actually increase with the next load up of DEX ETF to be distributed. So what happens
is our smart contract accumulates US DEX and it sells it whenever we're above peg
intervals and it kind of just makes profits and puts aside and then it's buying up DEX ETF that
it can then load into the regulation pool and distribute to anybody who's staked there.
So what that means is, I mean, it means what it means, but I guess what I'm trying to say
is when we launched, we actually just did kind of a test run with the regulation staking pool. And
so we didn't load as much as we could have. And so that's just the first two weeks. I think we
put like $75,000 worth of DEX ETF up for grabs just to passively earned. The smart contract
is going to handle that in the future. But just as we launched, we wanted to just make sure
everything's working properly. So we've been kind of like manually doing these things.
The next load up of the regulation staking pool is going to be much more where it's going to be at
least double. So we're expecting that the daily APR is going to be between 3% and 5% daily.
Okay. Very, very cool. Yeah, this is super fascinating. I'm wondering why I have not
heard of this before you had reached out to me. It just seems like...
Honestly, you know what it is? We've just been so focused on making sure that everything works
great and everything's developed on point. We haven't been stressing like going balls to the
walls with the marketing. We're just now starting to do a lot more marketing and trying to get eyes
out there. We just launched the protocol and yeah, we just didn't want to market it quite yet.
There were some bugs with the UI we fixed, little tiny things, but we're all about presentation.
We're all about keeping a professional product going. I know that our early investors,
those invested in the pre-sale, have more than enough patience to work with us as we work through
some of these bugs and clean it up. But we're almost done with deploying our final piece of
the protocol, so to speak, our first rollout, which is our auto-compounded strategies, which
I would love to get into in a moment as well. But yeah, I mean, this is it, man. This is the first
step talking to you, brother. Yeah, that's right. It'd be good in crypto if we got out of this idea
that you have to have this crazy big launch and get all the marketing at the beginning. There's
a lot of benefits growing slowly but surely and you're fixing bugs as you go along. Especially
in a tomb fork, you don't need 200 million TVL on day one. That would be not good.
Arguably, exactly. Arguably, it's a very bad thing to have that much action that early in
your project. You're creating a scenario where, yeah, there's a lot of hype initially, but you
don't have enough product and use case to back that hype and keep it sustained. So what ends
up happening is tons of people get in at the top of that hype and then you've got a whole community
of people right from the get-go that are like, yo, what are we going to get back to
to the green? So yeah, with DEX Finance, anyone that's been in with us since pre-sale is doing
well on their investments so far. They're happy with it. Okay, very cool. Now, when you earn this
DEX ETF token, do you have to do anything with that? Do you have to stake it anywhere or anything
like that? Nope. So there is something you can do with it, which we'll get into with the bonding
system we have. But outside of that, you're just collecting it. It's kind of a store of value
token. It's a way to kind of dollar-cost average into the market as a whole. Especially right now
with the price of Bitcoin and Ethereum and BNB and everything down, buying DEX ETF is the quickest
way to just buy up all those different assets on the dip, right? So to even passively earn it during
bear market is ideal, frankly. So with DEX ETF, you don't have to do anything with it.
What you're essentially holding is a receipt token that is worth a certain amount of allocation from
the treasury, right? And so you're taking these receipt tokens that you've gotten that is worth
$1,000 or whatever your DEX ETF is worth, and then you're able to redeem that for any one
of the underlying assets. I don't think it's currently available just yet, but this is
something that we can turn on all of the underlying assets. And so you could just say,
here's my tickets and get Bitcoin, Ethereum, Stablecoin, BNB, all sent to your wallet all
at once, like eight different tokens to load you up, right? But of course, you could just let it
sit in the vault. The receipt token is always useful no matter what. There's no reason not to
just hold onto your DEX ETF tokens and burn them, redeem them as needed.
Okay, very cool. And I do, yeah, audience, if you're just hopping on, we're talking about
DEX Finance. If you have questions, please do ask them. We'll get to some audience questions
here in a little bit. And do hit the like button. So you've seen enough now where you can hit the
like button honestly, because you like it. And then we'll get to some audience questions,
start asking them now and I'll get to them. Could you talk through, well, let's talk through bonds
first. And then I do want to talk about the auto compound strategies. Can you talk a little bit,
are these running now? And can you talk a little bit about how this works?
Yeah, so we actually have our bonds running now. They're not running on our website directly
right now, because they're actually running on our partner's website. So we're the first direct
partner of Olympus DAO on Binance Smart Chain. We've been working directly with their team with
the implementation of our protocol on liquidity. I dropped the link here actually that you can
forward. So you're able, you're actually able right now to bond into the DEX Finance protocol
through the Olympus DAO pro bonding marketplace. Soon we'll also install it onto our website. We
just kind of wanted to get people over there, get eyes on what we've got going on over at
Olympus before we roll it out on our own website for people to buy into. I think I lost you, James.
Oh, sorry. Can you hear me now? Yep. Still hear me? Yep, I can hear you.
Don't want to lose you there. Okay, awesome. So I do like their bonding system. And so that's
cool that you're kind of working directly with them on Binance too, because they've always been
on Ethereum and it's been a nightmare with fees and everything. So BSC is so much better on those
things. Yeah, absolutely. Okay. And then I was going to ask, as I was looking through your farms
about auto compound strategies, and then you kind of mentioned it. So do you want to talk through
these auto compound strategies? Yeah. So what we've done is we've, again,
improved upon what you might see with some of these other products out there right now. So
there's auto compounders, like what you'll see at Yieldwolf. It'll take your one farm,
say your peg farm, it'll take the profits that you make, sell, have automatically auto compound
and reinvest it back into itself. So you don't have to claim on it every day, multiple times,
which is super convenient, without a doubt. But those single farm auto compounders aren't exactly
healthy for protocols either. It's kind of funny, a lot of these two folks get really excited
about their auto compounders and how they think it's going to make a huge difference. But what
it does is it ends up creating a lot more passive buy pressure on their share token than they
thought it would. So what we've done is we've created a way more extensive system for auto
compounding using all the bones, the frameworks of those audited bolts and yield farming protocols
for the components that we did borrow, so to speak. And what we've done is we've made an auto
compounding system where you can have your assets automatically auto compounded and moved from one
pool to another, making use of the entire system. So the peg farm, the share farm, as well as
depositing proceeds into the regulation pool and taking profits on your DEX ETF and reinvesting
that back into your peg farm, so to speak. So we've created just a more robust way that you can
kind of get your assets into the system, allocated and weighed depending on how risk averse you are
as an investor, and then set it and forget it. You can actually set a take profit percentage,
like give me 20% of my DEX ETF rewards paid out every day or whatever, reinvest the rest.
This kind of takes a lot of the, you know, should I take some profits now? Where should I put my
profits? Like, should I be putting more into this farm? Just takes all that out of the equation and
simplifies the whole thing. We really want to maximize ease of use for the user, right? And
convenience. And kind of, you know, we launched on Binance Smart Chain. A lot of people ask why
did we launch on Binance Smart Chain? Simple. It's the biggest market and we're trying to create a
product that's simple enough for the average user to comprehend and use. Now, of course,
we're not quite there yet with the way that DEX Finance is, you know, based off a tomb fork. We're
working from like kind of a, you know, a high place, trying to bring it down to a place where
everyone kind of understands it from the get go. But by, you know, utilizing things like the auto
compounding feature, by, you know, having the DEX ETF and just kind of having things be a little
bit more separate, I feel like it kind of helps people understand the different moving parts a
bit more. And the auto compounders are really going to simplify that for people. And it's
going to be healthy for the protocol. These auto compounders are designed to not just ravage the
share token. They're designed to do things in a sustainable, healthy way for everybody involved.
Okay, very cool. Yeah, that is very cool. Because I think a lot of times when people get into these,
yeah, they want to know what that's one of the common question I get is what strategy
should I use in different tomb forks? And so I like how this breaks it down. And you're totally
right. The auto compounders are just basically for people who don't know, the auto compounders
in a traditional tomb fork, basically every 10 minutes or whatever they have the auto compound
set to is just selling the share token every time. And so it's not necessarily good for the
share token in the protocol. So it's good for peg, but it's not necessarily good for the share
token itself. And it's not the most profitable way to do it either. Because if you're over peg,
you shouldn't be just selling the share token, you should be using the boardrooms. So yeah,
this is a cool way to do it, I think. Yeah. And with our protocol, we're always printing. So
we're really always printing. So we're really incentivizing that people put their deck share
into the regulation pool. And it's going to be even easier to kind of incentivize people to do
that. I think, you know, when we launched, we were at about $300 per deck share at the presale. And
then we've actually had a couple fluctuations up to $500 down to 200 up to 500. And a part of that
is because our regulation pool just isn't paying out as much as it could be. And it's been competing
with interest with the farms. You know, when these when these projects first launched, the farms are
always super lucrative as there isn't as much share token and supply. And so the APRs are always
between three and 7% daily or something for the first couple days, you know, and
our boardroom, so to speak, because we were designing it to be sustainable,
we knew that we were going to take a small interest hit at the beginning. You know,
we're not trying to over reward people and sync the protocol, which is what happens with these.
And so now that the farms are kind of starting to even out a bit, we're getting down to about
between one and 2% per day with the normal farms, it's starting to compete a little bit
more with the regulation pool at 1.8% daily. And then when we refill the regulation pool,
it's going to be even higher than the farms. And so people are really going to be incentivized to
hold on to those deck share because the value is going to increase. Okay, very cool. Okay,
can you go ahead and talk a little bit about, I saw at the top, I'm in the Dex Finance, but
I think we've talked about most of these things, but the Dex, I think it was the launchpad one,
the Dexpad, I can't get back to that. Yeah, so Dexpad is our launchpad that we've built. It's
a really interesting platform that we've built. And we've made some changes to what you might see
from other protocols like PinkSail and these things. And so far, we've only launched our
project through Dexpad as kind of a test of making sure that everything works fine.
And yeah, now we're definitely speaking with other projects, other developers that are looking to
get some interest and get some support behind their product to work with our team, which is
extensive, but I could talk about that a bit more, with incubating their own project and getting
some interest and some capital funding. Our Dex IRA investors, going on a year now almost,
very loyal holders, very excited and willing to jump into anything that looks promising and it's
worth their while. So there's definitely a lot of value to be had there. And if you're a developer
that's watching this right now and you'd love to launch your project, definitely reach out to us.
Okay. Very cool. So audience, if you have any questions, feel free to ask them. I want to
bring up just a few audience questions that we had here. And then I'd like to kind of talk about
how... Can you hear me still? Yeah, go ahead. Sorry.
Okay. Okay. No, that's good. So the first question is, what do you consider a revenue source?
So people kind of... This question comes up a lot with like two forks. Where does the revenue...
Where does the money... So the money is definitely... It's coming from just kind of the
tokenomics of the system, so to speak, with just the supply of Dex share, the way that it's kind
of dispensed out, the metrics that go into buying into the Dex share, buying into those farms. And
then the value of those farms is going to be mostly based on the value of Dex share and the interest
of Dex share. So right now, the revenue in the project is kind of based on the interest in the
project. Now, there's other things that we can do and that we're planning to do to build upon
the money market and add just more robustness to kind of the fiscal health of it in terms of
things like peg burning mechanisms to go along to pair very nicely with our protocol-owned
liquidity to kind of ratify tempering market fluctuation with our tokens.
Yeah, that's a really interesting question. I'm not exactly sure the best way to answer
that one. That was like a deep question. There's a lot that goes into that, I think.
Yes. No, that's good. And yeah, sorry about my internet. That's what the...
Yeah, no problem.
These Airbnbs, you can't always rely on the internet. But I turned my camera quality down
because you don't need to see my face in HD. Definitely don't need that.
Here's a good question. Where do you see Dex Finance in two to three years,
see Dex Finance in the next couple of years?
Oh, man. I see us being definitely a consistent player in the finance smart chain network,
with making moves like partnering directly with Olympus. And we got a couple other big names,
I think, would interest people if it kind of everything comes together and we make those
announcements that I think are going to give us a little bit of staying power, especially a little
bit of notoriety in this game. There's a lot that we want to continue building, and we never stop.
So we have plans for implementing our own swap, going cross-chain. Like I said, introducing peg
burning mechanisms, things that... I don't want to say anything exactly set in stone,
because a lot of this is still kind of in our drawing board. Not that we aren't actively
detailing and planning this out, but we aren't actively developing it yet. And so this actually
ties into what happened with the creation of the money market protocol. When we first started
planning it out, we were still in the phase where rebase tokens were the king. You know,
Ohm, Hector Dow, Clima, all these things were kind of the big thing. And when we started working
our first concepts for the money market, it was kind of the tail end of that coming into
the algorithmic protocol or tomb fork season. And so our early planning had a lot to do with
things like the protocol on liquidity bonding. And we were thinking more along the lines of the
way rebase tokens in general work. And then we started to introduce concepts as we learned from
taking part in tomb. And we decided then to like Frankenstein that into something completely new.
So it's just kind of weird for me to talk about where I think we'll be in two, three years in
terms of specifics, because anything can happen. The market's always changing. One thing's for
certain is that we launched our Dex IRA project a year ago. We've been supporting it and, you know,
building upon that, that vision and that future for the ecosystem. And we're going to continue to do so
into the future. Flash loans and things like that. Elephant and Beanstalk is one recently.
How are you guys handling security issues like that? Yeah, you know, this is actually a fantastic
question. I've heard about what happened with Elephant and Bean. To be quite honest with you,
just trying to be humble, I'm not the best person to actually answer this. This would be a way better
question if the interviewee was like the CTO or CEO who has a little bit more experience with the
back end that can kind of get into the nitty gritty of how we are handling those things.
There are, you know, we've always been on top of security issues. Matt, our CTO, is a genius
programmer. Very, very, very talented. And we've always been super, super vigilant. So, you know,
when Reaper Finance got hit and there was that big hit, you know, we were super on top of figuring
out how that could affect us. Back with reflection tokens, a lot of them were getting hit with an
exploit where if you were rewarding users in your own native token, those tokens were getting
demolished by people using that exploit. And so, you know, we've kind of just always been on top
of those things. I'm just not the best when it comes to what exactly are we doing to handle
flash loans. I'd have to ask Matt and then get back, you know, I'd have to just get the nitty
gritty, right, the details. Yeah. Yep. No, no worries at all. I'm just a business guy, I'm not a programmer.
Yeah, yeah. No, I hear you. We each have our roles to play, right? We keep doing our own things that
we're trying to do. Very cool. And then somebody, somebody commented, how come you don't have an
accent like all crypto teams do? So are you guys US based? It's because we're a serious crypto team
that you should invest in. So we are, most of the team is based in the US. The CEO and the CTO,
they both co-own a marketing agency that's been very successful for, I think, over a decade now.
And then I'm actually just a Canadian myself, a humble Canadian. So I think I do have an accent.
If you hear me talk about bagels, you'll hear it. And then talking about utility for some of
the other tokens, are there going to be, is there any other utility for some of those tokens?
Yeah. So with DEX ETF, you can collect it and you can save it, but you can also use it to
bond into buying US DEX or DEX share. That's one thing I hadn't mentioned, actually. Thanks,
Jay Bloom, for bringing that up. So with the pro-bonding marketplace over at Olympus,
you can get anywhere, typically in between like five and 15% off on your investment into US DEX
or DEX share. And one of the ways that you can do that is by buying it with DEX ETF.
So just to kind of give people an understanding, again, of how this works is what we've done is
we're using this system to say we have a treasury and there's certain assets that we want in our
treasury and we're willing to sell to you off market just to load up our treasury. And this
is just a way for us to kind of build up wealth to help back the protocol. So DEX ETF right now,
you can use it to bond with. Yes. Let's see. And then how it works is it's actually a Dutch
auction style. Yeah. The discounts aren't looking too nice right now. So it actually resets every
day. It's Dutch auction style. So the discount will actually deepen passively over time until
someone buys it and then it will reset. And so if you check in every now and then, you can snake
5%, 10% off, 15% off on your investment. The only difference is you don't get it immediately.
It's vested out to you over three days. Okay. So like that, that WB and B1 will get you a 5% ROI
in three days. That's how people should read that? Exactly. Just instantaneous 5% return on
your investment. Assuming the price were to stay the same for those three days, then you're just
immediately doing the green. Okay. So yeah, this would be a great place just to keep an eye on.
Because yeah, definitely don't buy the bonds with the negative 30% discount because that's
more actually. But yeah, keep your eye open because sometimes you can snatch up a quick
three day, 8% or something like that. And that's a great way to jump in as well.
A funny thing about it actually is that DEX IRA normally has that early withdrawal fee
of 30% if you're to sell it within one year. Well, you can bond it at certain points. If you
catch the price at the right time, you can bond it and get out early, so to speak, and break even,
or even make a profit and not even really take the full brunt of that 30% hit. It just depends
on when you catch it. It's pretty cool. Okay. Very cool. So yeah. And if anyone's
been a part of Olympus now or anything like that, those will look very familiar to them.
And this is actually a revenue stream for Olympus that they're trying to do is
kind of helping partners bond. What future revenue streams?
Yeah. So future revenue streams, it's just, I don't want to get specific. So we're floating
a bunch of different ideas. We might introduce things like casino concepts, different ways that
you can kind of play games in our ecosystem. We want to avoid a lot of gimmicky things because
our audience, our target audience really isn't D-gens and apes. We're trying to go after those
that are a little bit more mature minded. So you can expect that when it comes to revenue streams.
Oh, another thing is very similar to what Olympus DAO is doing in a way with our
auto-compounded strategies, where we'll be able to work with other projects that might want to
lease that technology from us. So working with other projects, helping support other projects,
leasing technologies out to them, building upon the platform even more, and maybe introducing
a little bit of a mature gaming side to things. Different ways that we can
increase revenue streams. Also lending and borrowing is a huge thing that we want to look
into. Things like abracadabra, tarot, fused pools through something like Midas DAO. Different things
that we can look at that we can kind of increase way more volume and usage and utility for our
tokens. While James is having some issues with his internet connection, I'll actually switch to
focusing a bit on the chat and I can answer some of your questions directly here. So the circulating
supply right now of Deckshare, let me just double check that for you real quick. I don't want to
out of 100,000 total supply, which is an increase over what you see with other TUM projects.
I think typically with TUM it's something like 60 to 70,000 is what they do for their max supply
of their share token, but we really want to elongate that runway so to speak. We're not
saying that if you invest with Decks Finance that you can see the exact same returns as what you're
going to get from a TUM fork in those initial weeks of launch. What we're trying to say is
what you're going to get is reliable returns that are sustainable and that you're
actually getting. Who cares if a boardroom is printing 4,000% APR but it only prints
once every couple of weeks? With Decks Finance, you're getting a little bit less,
but you're printing 24-7. Can you hear me now? Yeah, I can actually. We're back and you're not
as pixelated too, man. I think we've got a recovery going. Our boardroom pays by the minute.
That's another big thing is that with a lot of these TUM forks, you're investing in the boardroom
and the epochs are every six hours and you're getting rewards every six hours.
With ours, not only does it actually work, but it works by the minute and there's no lockup
to put your funds in or take them out. Okay. Actually, that is a big difference
from most boardrooms because most boardrooms are doing hourly and then they lock them sometimes
for days. Three days or something, yeah. Yeah, it's crazy. All right. Well, hey,
I bet we better probably end this. We're hitting about close to an hour and I'm not
sure how much my internet is going to hold up. What I'd like to, for people who want to get
involved, what's the best way for people to have their questions answered if they have further
questions? Hopping right into our telegram or discord and just getting down and dirty with
the moderators, man. The community is always around and helping everybody. Everyone's super
awesome in our community. Ever since we launched XIRA a year ago, we've really built up a super
knowledgeable investor base. We're all in this together, right? That's the mentality that everyone
likes to share. Awesome. Then for people who want to buy, is this zap into the USDX, USDC farm
probably the easiest way just to hop into the ecosystem and start getting that return?
Absolutely. Exactly. Just grab any free stable coin you got, any BNB. You could just zap in
with either BNB or USDC. What that does is, let's say you have, just use a round number,
$1,000 worth of BNB. You type in, use all my $1,000 worth of BNB, zap. It instantly makes
those liquidity pairs and then you're ready to just deposit them into the farms and you're good
to go. You don't have to go to PancakeSwap and mess around with their silly little UI.
Very cool. You'll go in here, select BNB or USDC, click how much you want to put in there,
let's go. Then you'll go to the farm and deposit it into the farm. Again, I'll just show them
again that page. Just go here and then you'll have your tokens, your liquidity pool tokens
ready to go here and you should be able to just put them in right here. This will say you have
some and then you'll start getting that 451% APR right away. Then again, you could sell your
DEX share if you wanted to or you can start putting it into the regulation and that will
start generating this DEX ETF. There's a lot of things that you can do and yeah, looking forward
to when those auto strategies are done. I think that'll be a big help for people also.
Yes. It's going to be awesome. Highly recommend it. Highly recommend checking this out, guys.
Testing out new merch right now. Going to have something for everyone soon. I know we've been
asked about it. It's exciting times, man. DEX Finance is going to continue on. It's
going to continue on above PEG. Happy. Everyone's going to continue doing well.
First, the audience. Thank you, B&B Internet. Thank you, Third.
We'll get out of Sacramento and hopefully my next one will be better.
Sacramento's got it rough. I'll say that. We had a hard time finding it, but anyways.
Thank you, Marks. Thanks for your super comment. It's been a pleasure, James. Once you can hear
what I'm saying, it's been awesome, brother. All right. Take care, everybody. Have a good
rest of your day.
