Raiders OG Caleb Rogers Elevating Play with Intense Competition
Aug 8, 2026
God, family, football, in that order.
How does having a new guy, like Tyler Loader, bottom up, foster that?
What did you learn from him?
I mean, he obviously is gonna set a very high standard of play.
And so, I mean, he's been incredible to be around, very relaxed.
He's not doing anything fake, he just is who he is.
And again, it's just incredible to see that.
And he doesn't ask me to be anything special, just to be myself and
to embody who I am and my standard of play, and match that to his.
So, yeah, it's awesome.
While you're competing for this position, what's the main thing that you have to
tell yourself every day coming into practice to keep yourself consistent?
If you're persistent, you can get it.
If you're consistent, you can keep it.
My job is to be consistent, and
we do that every single day by holding each other to a high standard.
And working very hard, we have an extremely talented group.
And so, it's just pushing each other to be our best every single day.
Competition has been a big point of emphasis with the O-line.
How does that help not only elevate your game, but the entire group?
I mean, it just sets, again, the standard of play is very high.
And our job is to match that and to get the job done.
It's about being a part of the best five and
pushing each other to figure out who that is.
And it's been an incredible process to be a part of.
Pushing each other every single day,
coming in every single day with that mindset, I mean, it's been incredible.
Having a vet like Kirk Cousins, how much has that helped the team?
It's been incredible.
Kirk is awesome.
I've absolutely loved being around him.
And again, raising the standard of play,
raising the standard of communication in the building,
raising the standard of intentionality in what we do.
And it's not any rah-rah, it's nothing fake.
It's just how we're gonna operate, and what we're gonna do, and
what's expected out of us.
And it's been awesome.
What was your first impression of Fernando Mendoza?
Not my first time meeting him.
I actually played him in 2023, but he's an incredible guy, incredible person.
And I love to be around him every single day.
You said you played him in 2023.
How different of a quarterback is he from Callum now?
I am not a quarterback analyst, so I'm sorry, I just can't speak on that.
It's not my job.
You met with a trainer after playing today?
I feel great.
Again, just excited to continue to look to the next step,
and continue to push each other to raise our standard of play and
figure out who the best five are gonna be.
