Okay, I finally feel like my kitchen
is starting to come together
and looks presentable enough for me anyway
for summer 2026.
And if you've been watching all of the projects here lately,
you know that this kitchen has kind of put me through it
over the past week,
from the wallpaper nightmare
to trying to figure out the whole coffee bar situation.
I bet you I probably looked at over 50 little tables
and cabinets to try to make that area work for me.
But I did end up with the most beautiful
and unexpected find to use over at my coffee bar.
So that is very exciting.
Anyway, it's just all finally coming together
from painting underneath my kitchen cabinets,
like I said, to the whole wallpaper fiasco
to shopping for that coffee bar.
I'm just so excited to have everything
finally feeling fresh and rearranged
and just like new to me anyway.
I used so many pieces that I already had on hand.
So I thought today I would just give y'all
a summer kitchen tour
on how I'm probably gonna be leaving my kitchen
for the summer.
Now, will I rearrange a few things maybe here and there?
Probably, especially if I buy new pieces.
And I have not decorated anything
like for the Memorial Day or 4th of July yet.
So my kitchen is not gonna necessarily look
like a lot of people that are putting up videos
that are decorating for Memorial Day and all the things.
I just, I love my neutrals,
but I also try to bring in a lot of blues for the summer.
So you will see that I have tried to make my kitchen
just feel really fresh, like with the neutrals.
I love it and I am so happy with it.
So this is how I'm going to leave everything for now.
Unless, like I said, I get something new
or I just get the itch to switch later on.
This is what it's looking like so far.
So let me just kind of give you, like I said,
a little summer kitchen tour for 2026
on how I have mine all set up.
And then I'll show you the dining room too.
Nothing has changed in there though,
but just in case you've never seen a video of mine
and would like to see how we turned a back porch
into a dining room,
I'll just give you a quick little glance in there
because like I said, nothing's changed in there.
Everything in there is pretty much still the same
just because I love it so much.
But anyway, I'm gonna quit jabbering
and we're gonna turn around and do this kitchen tour.
I really tried to make this kitchen feel cozy
and collected for summer without going crazy,
buying all new decor.
A lot of what you're seeing in here is either thrifted,
repurposed, DIYed, or stuff that I just already had on hand.
And like I told y'all earlier,
just wanted to really use it in a different way.
I think people assume that you just have to spend a fortune
to make your home feel cozy and comfortable,
but honestly, most of my favorite things in this kitchen,
they're just all thrifted, y'all.
They are literally all thrifted.
Now, some of these pieces would probably cost so much,
but because I thrift over time
and really wait for things that I love,
I am able to decorate without spending
nearly as much as most people.
I also love that so many of y'all notice little details
because some of the changes I made in here
actually came from your suggestions.
There are some things that I have moved around,
put in different areas, or just took down altogether
because y'all were absolutely right about some of them.
I'll give you an example of one right here.
To the left, I did have a basket
and someone made a suggestion that the basket looked too new
along with everything else I had going on
on these shelves that were vintage,
and I could not agree more.
So I changed it up.
I actually pulled out an old vintage grease bucket,
I changed the books up,
and just made it different based on that suggestion.
So thank y'all so much.
I do read your comments.
I may not always get to reply to every single one,
but I definitely read them
and take your advice and your suggestions sometimes.
I also wanted to show y'all some of your suggestions
that I did actually take and change up.
So this shelf here, I'll put the picture up.
I took the little silver kind of like tart tray away
and I moved something from that corner.
Let's see if anybody can see what's missing there,
but I felt like it was a little too crowded.
So I did kind of remove some things
and was able to make this space not look so crowded.
I love these pieces
and I think they look really, really good here.
And the only thing different that I did down here
is I removed like the little silver biscuit cookie cutter,
and I removed the brass round tray that I had right here
because I felt like it had a problem
or something in the middle.
It's almost like the cups were whoppy jawed,
like they were not sitting up straight.
So I just took that out and left the cutting board here.
And again, these were all things
that were based off of y'all's suggestions.
And I just want you to know
that I appreciate y'all more than you know,
especially when you are so loving and so kind about it.
So let's move over to the coffee bar
and I wanna show you some of the changes
that I'm gonna make over there
based on y'all's suggestions as well.
This is also the spot
where I had the wallpaper nightmare moment.
I'll be sure and make sure that the playlist
is listed in the description
if you wanna go back and watch what this looked like before
if you missed that.
And then over here
is probably one of my favorite changes lately.
This cabinet seriously just found me
at the antique store one day.
It's an old gun cabinet
that I ended up using for the coffee bar
and it just worked out perfect.
I just love using pieces
in ways they weren't originally intended for.
And this piece definitely was not intended to use
on a coffee bar area,
but that's what we're doing with it.
I'm gonna open up the door
just in case you did miss that video
and just give you a very quick look at the before
of kind of where some things are.
I don't change too much
because I really loved the look of it,
but y'all really did have some great suggestions.
So I just wanna show y'all
how I took your advice with some of those things.
So one of the comments
and one of the first suggestions that I'll show y'all
is this little box here,
I did have some of the paper coffee filters in them.
And someone said that would annoy me
if I had to move this
to get the paper coffee filters out of here.
I 100% agree on that.
Based on that suggestion,
I said, well, I'm gonna take this little basket here
and I want to move it over here
where I have this little cup.
Gonna hang the little basket right here.
I'm gonna put a few of these paper coffee filters in here.
And then I'm still going to utilize
my little silver measuring cup
just because I think it's so cute and put that in there.
And another thing is that I don't use these
paper, excuse me, coffee filters every day
because I do have a reusable filter,
as you can see in there.
Now, sometimes if that's dirty,
I will pull for one of these,
but I don't have to reach for one of those every day.
But your suggestion was great.
And even when I do have to pull for one,
you are right, I don't wanna have to move
that little sugar dish off the top every time.
I got several comments on this little picture
and also suggestions as well.
I talked about how I hated how you could not see
that picture back there very well
and how much I do love it.
Well, a few of y'all actually mentioned
taking the little dried florals out
and you would just be able to see that so much better.
So I said, yes, I love that.
So I took that out and I thought, well, I love their idea,
but what if I take, and instead of using this
to hold just these couple little creamers
that I usually have on hand,
what if I took and just dumped those in that?
What if I take this with the dried florals
and just put it right back on top of that recipe box
where I had it,
and it kinda helps balance out the dried florals.
So there's some dried florals in this on this side,
this little sugar dish is actually holding
my little creamers that I talked about in yesterday's video
of why I have those in there.
And then I have this little creamer
holding some more of the dried flowers.
And I know there's a shadow,
but I can see my little picture back there so much better.
So thank y'all so much for that wonderful suggestion.
I love that.
Even though I did move the dried florals to the other side,
no one suggested that.
I did do that, but I really like how that looks.
And I love that I can see the picture so much better.
So y'all, thank you.
You're so, so smart.
And someone also suggested,
why don't you put a paper towel in the bottom of this
so that you can see your cute little flower coffee spoons
so much better.
And I love that idea as well.
So what did I do?
I went and got me a paper towel
and she said, just crumple it up,
stuff it down in there
and then put your little coffee spoons back down in there.
And they'll stand up taller.
You'll be able to see them better.
And I love that.
Now I am missing several spoons.
They're in the dishwasher.
So they're gonna look a little sparse today,
but y'all get the idea
that we were actually just using that paper,
that we're actually, excuse me,
using that paper towel
just to kind of raise these up a little bit
and make it look like a little bit of a floral bouquet.
I'm sorry, y'all.
I know that I pronounce things wrong.
And to the women who feel like
they have to correct me in every video,
it's not necessary.
I just, I have a very thick country accent
and things just do not always come out like they should.
So anyway, now, doesn't that look so cute?
And to whoever suggested this to me, thank you.
I love that.
All right, so we're gonna put this back.
Okay, that looks like a hundred times better already.
Then this shelf here got the most attention
because, and I do not know why,
why I didn't even think to do this.
I'm telling you, sometimes I am just not,
my brain is just not working right
and I have no good ideas to come up with.
But several of y'all, and thank you very much, said,
well, why don't you just put like some command strips
or something on the back of these little plates
and raise them up so that you can see them better.
And I was like, light bulb moment, yes.
Why did I not think of that?
So that's what I'm about to do
to these two little blue plates
so that we can bring them up
and you'll be able to see the blue on them so much better.
So here's the Velcro little command strip
that I just put on the back.
It's got the sticky showing
and I'm about to hang this one real quick.
And I'm leaving the stuff kind of in position
so I know exactly, or kind of exactly where to hang these.
And I'm gonna hang them a little bit higher
so you can see them, I think that'll be good right there.
And then all I gotta do is push
and then go do the other one.
And oh my goodness, what a difference
this is going to make y'all.
Yes.
Should I have done it a little bit lower?
I don't know.
Cannot believe what a difference that made.
It's like 1000% better.
I did lower that one just a little bit.
I had it too high a while ago,
but man, just that one little suggestion y'all made
for this shelf made a huge difference.
Okay, and something else,
the last thing that I did want to do on here
that someone suggested was to move these things here
around a little bit.
Let me scoot y'all down where you can see.
She said the napkins are here with the blue
and then I have the blue here
and that I should move the napkins down here
just to kind of balance all of this out.
And I agree.
Now there's a good balance, like she said.
So again, I thank y'all very much
for all of your sweet suggestions
and advice over here on the coffee bar.
Another last little look at the beautiful coffee bar
that we are all loving.
So I did purchase this rug new from Target.
I got it on sale for half price for $50.
But I will tell you that what I have been trying to do lately
and you may have noticed it in my videos
is that I'm trying to use a lot of the things
that I already own without going out
and buying brand new or even thrifted.
Now I have bought several things thrifted
or from the antique store that I love,
but I really have not spent a whole lot of money
on this total kitchen refresh
and I am so proud of myself for that.
This country style cookie tin,
I wanted to bring this out for summer so bad.
Everywhere I put it,
it just kind of stood out like a sore thumb
because it has more of a lime green kind of color to it.
And even though my bottom kitchen cabinets are green,
they're not that bright of a green.
So there's my lower kitchen cabinets right there.
Yeah, like I said, I just wanted to style this somewhere.
So I put it in this old camping oven that I got at Goodwill
and it ended up working out perfect
because it's kind of tucked in that little camping oven
and it's not just overwhelmingly bright out by itself.
You know what I mean?
So I actually did get to style that for the summer
and I'm loving it.
And I wanted to touch real quick on this little shelf.
I get more comments than y'all would ever know
about this little wooden shelf
that I have hanging over my stove.
And the number one question I get about it is,
how do we hang it up?
Well, we just put screws in this.
Okay, so we have the backsplash here
and then we just kind of put this up
since it was over the stove,
so it would be easier to clean.
So this little shelf here,
it is just hung up with screws on the back of it.
So that's how that's hanging, it's pretty secure.
And then I just kind of style it with some decor
and some practical pieces that I actually use
like the timer, the salt and pepper, of course.
And then I use these little wooden scoops
to get seasonings out of mason jars.
So I will step back here
and just try to kind of pan around slowly.
I've been trying to go really slow
in case you missed a lot of the individual
styling videos that I put out.
Hopefully this can give you a few ideas
on how you can use some of your thrifted pieces as well,
but I want y'all to see it stepped back also
and everything just not so up close.
So I like to step back and give you the full perspective
on what the space looks like.
So I'm really, really loving
using all of the dried hydrangeas in here.
That just screams summer to me.
So the hutch over here,
everything is pretty much the same.
I only changed a couple little things in there,
but I did take y'all's advice on those books
and I leaned them over onto the basket.
I actually added one more.
I put my chicken recipe little thing in here.
I took that off of the shelf over there.
I don't know if anybody noticed that or not,
but yeah, I'm just gonna step back
and kind of show you this side,
what it looks like kind of stepped back.
There's, like I said, my hutch,
my kitchen table and the kitchen from this side.
I'm probably not giving the best kitchen tour,
but hopefully y'all get the idea.
And like I said, I will add the playlist
with the individual videos
that will maybe help you get some ideas
and see things a little more up close.
But yeah, this is my kitchen
kind of from a stepped back viewpoint and all put together.
I just really wanted y'all to see it.
You know, everything that we've been working on,
all put together and all in one frame,
I guess is what I'm trying to say.
And I got Cinder over here in the window behind me
trying to kill a fly.
So that's probably what y'all hear.
And now I'll just go give y'all a quick little glance
at the dining room area
in case you've never seen that before.
So walking through here,
this is our dining room slash laundry room.
And this space, believe it or not,
was a back porch.
So you can go watch that whole series
on how we turned our back porch into a dining room
if you want to.
I'm not gonna go into detail here either
because I have individual videos
on decorating a lot of this,
and it's all pretty much still the same,
but we'll do some quick little clips here
just to give you some ideas if you've missed those.
I just love giving ideas
on how you can thrift your home beautiful.
My decor style is very much a country aesthetic.
I love old country vintage decor,
and you can definitely tell that in my home.
And for anybody that comments and says
that my house looks like Cracker Barrel,
there went Cinder,
that's actually a compliment to me.
So thank you.
I don't know, sometimes people comment that to me
and they think it's gonna hurt my feelings.
It actually makes me feel good, so whatever.
But yeah, y'all, this is my 2026 summer country kitchen.
Like I said, I didn't do a lot of up-close shots
and slow motion and all that kind of stuff
because I do have a lot of individual videos on that.
I just wanted y'all to be able to see it all together,
like in one video.
And we've been working hard on this kitchen,
so I am proud of what we've been able to accomplish.
Thank y'all for going thrifting with me
and doing all of the DIYs
and all the things that we've been doing in the kitchen.
So I am excited now to start on the next project,
which will be moving into my hallway
and doing some things there.
So I cannot wait to share those next projects with you.
Thank y'all again for coming to hang out with me
in my little country kitchen.
We hope y'all have a wonderful evening.
We love y'all and I'll see you back here tomorrow
with a brand new video.
