Video Summary
AI GeneratedThis video reviews the Volantex F-22 Raptor, a compact, ready-to-fly (RTF) RC jet. Unlike many small models, it features a genuine brushless EDF (Electric Ducted Fan) and a built-in flight stabilizer, offering hobby-grade speed and performance at an accessible price point for enthusiasts.
Finally a reason to be excited about the hobby all over again this f-22 Raptor is an actual
Brushless
EDF it is not fake like they have been in the past with a little propeller on the back and it's not overpriced
Overinflated branded by some other company. This is a Volantex
Which is dominating the RC industry on small ready-to-fly airplanes with flight
Destabilization on board that comes in at a
Reasonable price this has control surfaces where I'd like to see them on a small EDF like this
We have ailerons and elevator in the back, which will most likely function together
Mixed for elevon action. We do not have rudder control
But that's okay on something small like this because you really wouldn't be able to feel that while you're in the air
It comes with a spare prop, which is very cool. It's an actual EDF prop and then we have wire landing gear
we will try that in this video and then our battery is a very nice powerful XT 30 plug on here with a
Balance lead because that is a 2s battery. This is gonna be awesome
And did I mention this is ready to fly with our included transmitter?
We have all of our aerobatic buttons
So I'm hoping we can do at least a roll on this and our flight stabilizer
Which we can turn on or off or right in the middle comes out of the box
Just like this most people would think that you have to spend hours
Building and then more hours learning to fly a plane like this
But I'm going to show you in this video just in case you're new to the hobby
But it comes out of the box exactly like this and anybody can pick this up and fly it. So let's go
Hey, can we do an actual touch and go with this?
Launch with confidence launch events. Let's go
That was solid
We're in stabilized beginner mode right now and it is flying like an EDF
Alright, we're just gonna go back here because we have wide turns we have speed on this Abby. This is flying
Nice sounds good, too. So let's get a full throttle pass going down the runway because I am holding back on the juice
I'm a half throttle for this this this feels good. I'm very impressed with this
Wow
So it's tiny good luck tracking it Abby and I'm I'm hoping we can get sharper turns with a
higher rate here because those are very wide turns
But we'll get it over the runway again, and I'm gonna push the stunt button and let's just see if we can do it
Maybe hold it. Oh
Maybe we need more throttle for it to pull it off. This is awesome
This is the smallest successful flying 2s powerful EDF that I've ever had my hands on
It is flying like an EDF. It's not slow
I will tell you that so if you are
The total beginner you might want to pick up like a warbird first before this with an actual propeller
I would not want this to be a person's very first RC plane just because of its actual speed
This is way more powerful and fast than I expected. This is definitely hobby grade
I'm really trying on the rolls there, but that is not just it's just not cutting it
Got a little bird trying to keep up now. Maybe it only has loops. Let's just go for it. Yeah, okay
Well, there we go. It wanted it wanted to try a loop
It just didn't hold off because we didn't have enough throttle so we can't do rolls on this but we can do a loop
Let's try it full throttle
There it goes. Look look look
crazy, oh
I just have to wait for it and then do the input. So here we go. One more time down the runway. Oh
I can't get it to work consistently, but we have a stunt button
I will keep playing around with that later
But this thing is I'm just crazy. It's a handful to fly on the wide turns
You just want to make sure you have room for those banks, but it is flying very hobby grade ask
I'm curious. Can it fly out of stabilized mode?
Yeah, okay. We're holding it straight
There's kind of a loop into a figure eight Cuban Cuban eight, sorry
Okay, I'm holding it
It has basically a s3x equivalency and I got to go into stabilized mode just because I lost orientation that far down
There we go
Can I click one of these sticks and get a high rate?
I do wish we had a higher rate, but I don't think we have that and that's okay
So my only complaint with this jet right now is
Because of its speed it could catch a person off guard with those wide turns in beginner mode
I do wish I had a higher rate in beginner mode because it's very capable of handling sharper turns without stalling
So just ease on the juice on your banks and you get a little bit more
Aggression out of your face. So before we totally lose our battery
I do want to see if this can do an actual ground takeoff and landing
so I'm gonna land it in the grass and with enough juice left, hopefully we can do a
Ground takeoff. Oh, there we go. Look at that. Oh, we're almost hairy ring. Oh, I couldn't resist that. That was cool
And we'll pop it down in the grass right here. Yeah, perfect. Oh
This might be kind of crazy. We're gonna try an auto takeoff. There's a little bit of a setup
we're gonna press the
Aerobatic button and it should beep and then we just go full throttle and see what it does. Here we go
Okay, so full throttle
So you're not putting input
Barely made it up it it does it that doesn't that wasn't you pulling up? No Wow
So this is with the landing gear obviously on you guys can see that and it took off from the ground really well now
We are super blessed with a very smooth runway, but let's see. Can we do an actual touch-and-go with this?
Is awesome now
I just am a goober with the stunt button in the beginning of the video
I kind of struggled with so let's try again
I think I just need to be a little more hands-free get it into
Hold there we go. Yeah, hold stop flicking and there we have telemetry too
Which tells us low battery and that's a good thing for newer pilots. We're struggling. We're struggling
I'm fighting it. I'm it's one to come. Okay, there's a durability test
It's beeping the jet is beeping in the transmitter are both beeping
Okay
Now that's actually really cool. None of our small warbird planes do that. It's just muddy
but otherwise it's in perfect shape because the nose of this jet is
Rubber see so it's designed to take a hit like that, especially on grass
So it got a little muddy. We've seen some combat
But I love that that beeps because a lot of times people will lose
There are seaplanes or jets
especially beginners and this flies so quickly a person could lose it a little more likely than all those like
P-51s and Corsairs that we've seen on the channel through the years
This beeping is awesome because if it goes down in tall grass or in the woods or something
You can find it when it beeps like that. This has it all and the really cool thing is it's not underpowered
I would love to tell you a price for this jet, but I cannot because now
Everywhere it's not just one website where we will have this linked
everyone has
Smart pricing or whatever you want to call it supply and demand if they see traffic on their website the price goes up
So we try to get you guys
Content we've seen we saw an RC helicopter that hit our channel a couple weeks ago yellow
That was actually like eighty five ninety dollars. Would you believe that is 175 now?
Isn't that crazy after we posted after we posted the video it got a little bit of traffic and boom the price
Doubled doubled that's wild. I'm I'm not for that for any company. I think prices should be consistent
Pretty flat rate then they go on sale for holidays or something
And then you know if the price has to go up on a product it can go up five ten bucks down the road
Or whatever, but I hate dollars. Oh, I hate the fluctuating pricing. It's horrible
I'm impressed with this, but I want to set a very realistic tone
Probably not a good first RC plane all of the bells and whistles are there to help you
It could be a first if you have a nice open location to fly or something
But I think that the already existing
Hobbyist will probably be the person that buys one of these because it has hobby grade performance
And I am impressed with that a true EDF
That is very cool on a 2s ready-to-fly setup if you've never owned an EDF
This could be a really good first EDF to get a taste of speed because it definitely flies faster than those warbirds and because I'm
Flying fast. I want to highly recommend flying with AMA
It's the Academy of model aeronautics their insurance for those of us that fly RC planes drive RC cars boats and race RC
Drones that cover helicopters as well anything under the Sun that is with RC AMA covers
So if God forbid this would have flown through a parked airplane up here or a parked car or something
Or someone's window or someone gets hurt in the hobby AMA steps in and I've seen it personally with friends
They've had their shed where they keep their RC batteries catch on fire. God forbid. It's awful, but it has happened
I've known people that this has happened to and AMA has stepped in now
They didn't have a full replacement of the entire hobby of his whole collection
But they did have enough money back for him to replace his transmitter charger and a couple airplanes now
that's pretty cool if you ask me so AMA is
The less than the cost of this RC and they'll be linked in the description box below
Next to the link where you can pick this up and this is a very new release just so you guys know
It's only on a few different websites right now
So be sure to pick one up because they probably will sell out this type of thing goes pretty quickly on their first release
This is a good one
I'll say a massive thanks to God for blessing us with the time to jump in front of the camera and share this experience with
You guys finally a nice calm evening with although we have clouds rolling in it is a beautiful sunset up here
Just in time to get out and enjoy the hobby with you guys
I'm so thankful and grateful to him for all of his blessings and I hope that you guys are
Getting it getting a feel a taste of some of his blessings today as well and last but certainly not least
I want to say a massive
Thanks to our patreon supporters because we couldn't do what we do as often as we do without your insanely awesome support if you love
Ready to fly RC things. We'll have a handpicked video popping up right about now just for you. Thanks for watching. We'll see you there
