Pelicans Give Multiple Updates...

But we do know of six games four of them involving the NBA cup and where they're going to be played at We're going to share the details about that. We had yesterday about uh, lee hong Uh joon lee Uh who the pelicans are working out in the mini camp and that story has started going crazy all over Uh social media and especially from the korean contingent Big shout out to uh, some of the folks, uh on youtube who watch from korea and who are korea basketball fans We appreciate y'all for checking us out. Uh, they are encouraging the pelicans to sign lee One of the reasons why uh, according to uh, one of the commenters in the comments yesterday saying that Uh koreans will buy his jersey by a million so please Hey, listen, hey, listen. Hey This will give you some international flavor Uh, you know, it will get that international appeal for the pelicans something that we've been saying that the pelicans need to work on It's more than international appeal. Uh, you know, hey, hey, you know, if anything maybe put them on a two-way So you can sell some jerseys, man. Maybe we can move some squadron jerseys. Who knows? Uh, but I just found that fascinating, uh But shout out to all the the fam out there in korea watching the show and keeping an eye on that situation Most definitely and we'll be doing the same here on pelicans digest. Uh, but real quick though, uh the schedule Uh will be released tomorrow at about 2 p.m. Central And we'll know the full schedule but today the pelicans and the nba released the schedule Uh for the nba cup and the nba cup nights They're going to be happening for the pelicans and uh, it was announced today that on november 6th They're going to be facing up against the minnesota timberwolves on the 15th It is the memphis grizzlies, uh in november 20th. It's the oklahoma city thunder in oklahoma city and on november 27th uh against the la clippers, uh, those two games against the clippers and the thunder will be away games, uh, and the Uh wolves and grizzlies games will be home games uh, so and the unfortunate thing is none of those games will be featured on national television as part of the the The nba prime package who carries the nba cups, uh games, but no pelicans games on national tv for the nba cup, unfortunately Uh, but hey, maybe if they can pull off some wins in that thing We'll see down the line if they can be involved and get involved in that um But so you got the first four games Those are the first four games that we know on the schedule some market calendars for november, uh for the nba cup nights uh, especially those two, uh At the smoothie king center, uh, but the pelicans will be featured on national tv as they will once again Travel internationally on behalf of the nba. They did it last year at the start of season Uh, uh with the australian run and now they're going to be doing the uh, european Games the global games as the nba is calling them They're going to be playing uh, two games against the san antonio spurs. The first one will be in paris Of course, that's wimby country But also the pelicans have set up a sort of a contingent of a fan base out there in paris That game is going down january 14th And that's going to be on amazon prime and also the manchester game. This is going to be over in england That's going to be on january 17th and that's going to be an early morning start at 9 30 a.m uh New orleans time and the paris game will have a 1 p.m. Central time start, uh here, um, but you know Hey, good luck for the pelicans. At least that's gonna be you know That's at least two nationally televised games that the pelicans will be featured in. Uh, but once again, you know, we're getting shipped out Sitting sitting pelicans overseas and you know, and we have matched up decently against san antonio So it's gonna be fascinating to watch those two games. Uh getting uh later on this year, especially jayward So y'all gonna make a trip y'all gonna y'all gonna head overseas for this Uh, I'll let you boy. Let me know if y'all y'all gonna do that. Uh, I still got I don't know if i'ma go but we'll see um, but Uh fascinating stuff as far as uh the pelicans now we got six games That we are aware of we will get the full schedule tomorrow at about 2 p.m And we'll do episode on that and break down uh, some of those games as well Uh when they get the schedule gets released. Um, but today the main focus of today Is a conversation that I had uh with a pelicans ticket rep Um as you know pelican season tickets go on sale they have started going on sale if you are a season ticket order you probably be getting calls when you rep, uh for somebody in the front office and um You know, I I debated last season on whether or not I was gonna go but i'm committing i'ma go ahead on it and get the package, but i'm kind of i'm kind of upset I wouldn't say upset. I'm kind of i'm kind of cranky about What this person the salesperson told me um, I have been clear on this show that uh I go to games and I like to sit in 300 level I like to sit in the upper bowl. I don't like the lower bowl not a fan of the lower bowl um So I found it interesting though that when my pelicans rep called me, uh yesterday they called me yesterday as a matter of fact And they was like, hey, do you want to get tickets? And i'm like, yeah, you know, let's let's go ahead and do it i'm committing um And I had to explain to him that listen, I don't live in new orleans right now. I live in texas So you gotta throw me a deal that's worth my while so The first question I asked is what do you have in the 300 section? And he proceeds to tell me That as of right now, they are not selling season ticket packages in the 300 level in the upper bowl And I was like, why is that? Why are y'all why why are we doing that? And he was like, well, we're trying to get more people in the lower bowl We want to fill up the lower bowl with season ticket holders Uh, and with more with more people sitting in that section than in the upper area I guess because they're tired of this the the lower bowl being half empty. Uh, and it's not looking good on tv So I said, okay. All right You know, i'll play along What kind of deals do you have for The lower bowl that i'll take a look at so he sends me these two take these two, uh options He sends me section 121 Row 22 seats 18 and 19 and then section 109 which is on the opposite end of the smoothie king center Uh row 25 seats 1 through 2 And so i'm like, okay You know, I don't like any of those seats because I don't like sitting in the lower bowl I like the vantage point of being in the 300 section to see everything that's going on So, you know, I proceed to ask him I say, you know, those are the sections. Okay. How much are we talking about here? um And he says both are on and I get the 10 game package Because again, I live in texas. I don't live, you know, I don't live in the city If I lived in the city, I probably would get the full the full the full ticket package but because I don't I You know the 10 game or the 12 game packages afford me the opportunity to Make plans to come out at least once a month to games um, but They tell me that the 10 game package for the two seats that were there were only fifteen hundred dollars 1590 to be exact And I was like, are y'all serious right now? I get it that that now that to you that may be cheap to some folks that may be cheap But for me last season last season for a 12 game weekend plan Up in the upper bowl in the 300 sections. I paid six hundred dollars six hundred dollars That's how much it was for the for 12 games 12 weekend games throughout the season So I was kind of disappointed in seeing that and it was like, you know And I was like yo when he called me back today to solidify the deal And I was like listen, man, you y'all are charging me 1100 more dollars for two less games To sit in a better so-called section that that I don't think is necessarily better for what I like and what I am trying to get So I juked him out of a whole lot of stuff. I need um, I told him i'll sign on if you give me some some perks some some advantages some perks and he tried to throw in free parking and And and you know some some merch that I can get from the store and stuff like that, um, And the the I guess the selling point that he was trying to get me on was well If you get the 10 game package, you get to do unlimited swaps all season long Which means whatever 10 tickets they commit to me at the start of the season I can swap them out for any other 10 games, even though I knew for a fact that I could do that already I did it last season. I had a 12 game package I ended up going to like 16 or 17 pelicans games last season, uh, because I was able to swap out tickets here and there um and one of my seats here and there so You know But what I've read some folks say that the ticket prices have gone up uh by at least a hundred dollars two hundred dollars depending on the package, but you know I need their sales team To to understand this you know That that And my recommendation, I don't even gonna say that what my recommendation to y'all Is if you're planning on getting tickets hold off and wait till that schedule comes out That schedule is gonna be out tomorrow hold off on those schedules tomorrow and wait to get those tickets If you plan on going if you plan on getting a reasonable package for the season um Because I found it outrageous That they are not they are restricting people and restricting fans From buying tickets to go into the 300 area where where I want to be. How are you going to restrict? You know this fan base and a fan base that again New Orleans is not a rich city A lot of these people are going to be paying for these tickets through their payment plans or whatever it is that they choose To do instead of coming out of pocket full scale and full bore at the moment So for them to sit there and say well we ain't letting y'all get 300 seating right now It's ridiculous It's really it's really ridiculous And it's disappointing as well How y'all gonna tell me how y'all gonna sit there and say we don't you know I'm trying to get y'all my money y'all to me, but we don't want the money We want you to come sit down here. I don't want to sit in a little boat I I don't Man that's ridiculous man, and I think y'all need to straighten that out I'm quite so i'm putting out a call right now to probably you probably don't get tickets Hold off until after that schedule release and give it a couple of days um And if they're calling you about that and i'm also my other recommendation is go online and get the tickets Maybe go through the c geek act or anything like that Because I find it interesting that when I try to go online to buy my tickets Uh instead of trying to go through a sales rep they started restricting What tickets I could buy they were they were really in the app because I already have a ckd account. They were restricting The sections that I could buy And I think that's disappointing. That's really disappointing to this fan base. I mean of this organization to do that so I just had to get that off my chest real quick, man. So, um Are you planning on getting season tickets are you planning on getting tickets to the pels this season if so, uh, what is your method? What are you using and how much are you spending? we'll love to know your thoughts about that in the comments man, but Um, I commit it man. I'm in i'ma be back for another season of pelicans basketball I will be in the smoothie king center in section 121 Probably not every game though Knowing me I always move around every game. I've always had somewhere different Just to get the good Different vibes and also get to talk to different fans and different people about the game. Um, uh, so I I really do enjoy it I I love coming to the smoothie king. So I love coming to the games and i'm looking forward to the next season I'm, just disappointed in how the front office is handling this situation right now, especially that ticket office Y'all need to get that straight let people buy tickets in the 300 section. That's where the goons get That's where we at. That's where we want to be at But uh, well i'd love to know your thoughts on the season tickets if you're getting season tickets What are you getting quoted as far as prices on on packages and stuff like that?
