Apple's first foldable iPhone might have just given us another pretty big clue about what it's going to look like.
And this time, we're getting a look at the actual shape of the front panel.
Tipster Ice Universe has posted both images and a hands-on video of what's claimed to be a screen protector designed for Apple's rumored iPhone Ultra.
And while this is obviously not the phone itself, it could give us an early idea of how Apple is approaching the cover display.
At first glance, there's something unusual about this protector.
One side has completely square corners, while the opposite side has rounded corners.
And if you're thinking, wait, is Apple really making a display that looks like that?
Apparently, no.
Ice Universe says the strange shape is because this protector is designed to cover the entire glass panel rather than perfectly matching the visible display area.
So the actual screen is still expected to have symmetrical rounded corners with consistent bezels around all four sides.
And honestly, that makes a lot more sense.
But this isn't the only recent leak giving us clues about the iPhone Ultra.
Just a few days earlier, Sonny Dixon shared what were claimed to be protective covers for the phone's rear camera module.
Those covers showed up in silver and dark blue.
And when you combine that with some of the earlier rumors, it starts to sound like Apple could be going for a two-tone design similar to what we've seen on the iPhone 17 Pro.
Even more interesting is the camera layout.
The leaked cover appears to have four separate cutouts, which are believed to be for two cameras, an LED flash, and a LiDAR scanner.
Now, there is one really important thing to keep in mind here.
None of this is coming directly from Apple.
Both the screen protector and camera cover leaks appear to come from third-party accessory manufacturers.
And that means these parts could be based on leaked dimensions, early CAD files, or even educated guesses.
So we definitely shouldn't treat them as confirmation of the final design just yet.
Still, when multiple accessory leaks start pointing in the same direction, things get interesting.
The iPhone Ultra is expected to be Apple's first-ever foldable iPhone.
And rumors suggest the design could look more like a traditional book-style foldable, similar to Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Huawei's Pura X Max.
On the display side, we could be looking at a roughly 5.5-inch cover screen on the outside and a much larger 7.8-inch display when the phone is unfolded.
And apparently, Apple isn't planning to make this thing lightweight on the inside either.
Rumors currently point to the upcoming A20 Pro chip alongside a battery of around 5,000 mAh.
The cameras could include a 48-megapixel dual-camera setup on the back, while both the outer and inner displays are rumored to feature 18-megapixel selfie cameras.
There's even been talk of Touch ID making a return, which would be a pretty interesting choice for a device this futuristic.
Of course, Apple hasn't confirmed any of these specifications, and we're still dealing with leaks and rumors here.
But with the iPhone Ultra expected to finally make its debut alongside the iPhone 18 Pro lineup in September 2026,
we're getting closer to the point where these leaks should start becoming a lot more accurate.
And if this latest screen protector really is based on Apple's final design,
it looks like the company may be taking a very familiar foldable concept and putting its own spin on it.
