Returning to Camp Rock, reprising our roles, almost 15 years to the day. It's quite bizarre and wild.
We walked up to set, a new set, and had familiar feelings. I was kind of overcame with emotion
thinking about even just the audition process and what that was like and when we shot the first film
and some of these core memories, meeting these young actors who are part of this new generation
of Camp Rock, passing the baton. It's amazing and they're all so talented, so they're gonna
carry it well. I think there's a real wish fulfillment with both of the Camp Rock movies
that was so magical. You know, this idea of being able to go to a place to be around other people
who shared the same interests as you, same passions for music, singing and dancing, storytelling,
songwriting. It's the kind of place I would have loved to have gone as a kid and I think for young
people, you know, when when these movies came out and when this one comes out, it just checks a box
of nostalgia and looking towards the future in a really exciting way and I cannot wait for
people to see this film because I think it pushes things even further.
I was going to camp my entire life, you know, to a sleepaway camp and I always
could only imagine what it would have been like if it was actually an entertainment
camp like this and something to, you know, follow your dreams like that you can at Camp Rock. So
it's really nice to be able to sit here, see these new generation and what kind of talent
they have because it is so incredible. The audience at home, you're going to enjoy it so much.
Coming back to Camp Rock is an emotional experience for all of us. It's a huge part of our
story as a band going back to 2007 when we made the first movie and then the second film in 2008
and 9 and throughout the years, you know, we've been playing our songs from the movies in our
shows and it's really become a part of the fabric of the Jonas Brothers as well as obviously
as well as Connect 3, the band that we play in the movie. So to come on and work alongside Disney
now in this new capacity as executive producers was really important to us. To be able to, you
this new story with this next generation and introducing Camp Rock to a whole new audience
is a dream come true for us. Disney was amazing in helping put together a really great team. A
lot of the people who were a part of those two original films from the music department, you
know, Steve Vincent was there from day one and has really been a part of, I think, picking some music
that has really turned into culturally, you know, magnificent and huge moments and he brought his
game with this one too and put together a great team of songwriters, Tim and Antonina, to come
back and write some music for this film, which I think, you know, we were really excited about
knowing that that original touchpoint of the Camp Rock franchise was there, but that it had a new
and exciting element to it musically and was, you know, reflective of what's happening out in the
world today music-wise. And then I think, you know, Veronica, our director, is just an incredible
person, first of all, and has a really good sense of how to marry sort of the two worlds of the past
and the present and the future and I'm so glad that she's on this project and that she's directing
this film. I think she brings a really fresh take to it and it's going to be exciting.
The stuff we've seen of the dance sequences that Jamal put together, you know, he's the best. We
worked with him on our Christmas film for Disney Plus and he made us feel really confident and
comfortable and I can see that he's adding personal touches to each of the next generation
and their performances and it's going to be electric. The entire cast has so many amazing
moments. My daughters are extremely excited because they are very, very big fans of Malachi
Barton, who's now in this film. You know, his role in Zombies was a big win in my household.
We went and saw the tour. It was a big moment, so I'm getting major dad points right now being
on set. I think one of the things that we were most excited about when coming on as executive
producers was being able to sort of launch new talent off this platform, really, and this,
you know, this franchise and there are some stars in this group of young folks that
the Disney casting team did a great job of finding.
