but oh the water is also coloring now oh mosquitoes
i freaking hate this job oh just kidding i love it i absolutely love it
oh this is awesome look at that cloud look at that sky
so welcome on board the boat that's going to take us from keel in germany to gothenburg in sweden
and sweden is the first stop of this scandinavian road trip and for me we are going to a familiar
place because i visited this in winter times so from the boat i already took a couple of pictures
in the night evening of boats in the storm so let me show you a couple of those images first
before we go into the video of sweden so welcome back to the channel and welcome to
sweden the first stop of our trip through scandinavia so we're here for a couple of
days and i've been here before two years ago but then i was here in winter in january
and it was completely covered in snow so it's a whole different world but yeah i'm just wondering
how the place looks here now during summer and all those lush greens they look fantastic i've seen
some amazing reflections on my way here so yeah really looking forward to a couple of days here
in the beautiful sweden and i just passed this yeah boardwalk over here when i was going to
the supermarket with my kids and i was thinking this looks like a cracker shot even at this time
of day and for my the thing that i am wondering most about the scandinavia trip it's july the
end of july start of august when we are here and sunrise times are like 2 30 a.m and sunset is like
10 30 p.m so yeah that's going to be challenging for someone that's always hunting a good light
but with this this soft light here a bit softened by the clouds it just looks fantastic so i'm going
to take this shot of the boardwalk not sure if i'm going to use a portrait or horizontal
i'm going to go i'm going to catch both hopefully this is going to work and hopefully this is going
to be a good first image from sweden i hope you like it and i hope this is going to be a fantastic
trip so this is the shot this is actually a place that i was in wintertime and there's a nice
waterfall at the bottom of this uh this this valley here but we just couldn't reach it in
the winter because we didn't have the proper snowshoes to to get down the stairs that you're
going to see a little bit further it was just so slippery that we couldn't get down there so
let's get down and hopefully it will be worth it this time but on our way here we already saw
a reindeer you know really great so let me show you that shot and then let's get to the waterfall
so finally at the bottom of the staircase so let's see what we missed the last time so i found
this really cool spot on the waterfall here and i just took a picture on the same spot let me show
you the composition here you see it's going to be a vertical shot with this waterfall going down
including that one and i'm also going to include this little section in the front here the only
thing i don't really like is this tree over here but yeah sometimes it is what it is but it's going
to be like a half a second focused on the middle section here and i think that's going to be a
really really nice shot there's some nice damp and light here so yeah beautiful waterfall and i'm kind
of yeah how do you say that regret that i didn't go down here in wintertime but it looks fantastic
now so this is the shot so while i'm climbing these rocks to get a different view on this
waterfall i want to mention this month's challenge which is all about black and white photography
a lot of images are already submitted and if you want to submit your image it's totally for free
just for some fun make sure to submit it before the end of next week through my website there's a
challenge tab you can submit your image there and at the end of the month i will make a video with
the best results so i found another really nice angle on this waterfall and you can see it's
coming down from the side now into the image and you've got this really dark wall on the side
some rocks leading your eye into that side and also that big rock on the left is also creating
a line towards the waterfall so not convinced the other shot was much better but i think this
is worth taking a picture for so let me take this shot hope you like it so i do want to mention
that my 2027 calendar is now on sale in my web shop so if you're interested in my new calendar
please go to my website and check it out there's also a bundle with my book if you're interested
in the book and the calendar there's worldwide shipping options so make sure to check it out
if you want to support this channel i expected the sun to set around 10 p.m but because there
are a lot of mountains on the horizon the sun is of course setting behind the mountains so
i'm about just in time maybe a little bit late so you know there's no direct light over this river
anymore it's just the colors in the sky but if you look up those colors are quite spectacular so
not everything is lost so i'm just looking at a shot over this river and i'm particularly looking
at something like this where the image starts on this side with this rocky face going in this
direction and then this spectacular light in the clouds so let's hope that is going to improve
just a little bit that all the stuff is lighting up you can see it hitting the horizon over there
so it might be a really cool shot something i do have to bracket to probably get this foreground
to lift up a little bit compared to those rocks clouds up there so yeah not everything is lost
so i do think that this could be a nice frame i didn't bring the tripod it is still in the
holiday home you know that's how quickly i had to run but i do like the colors in the sky and
i'm being eaten alive here by those frustrating mosquitoes oh so annoying
but i'm gonna take a pano and i'm gonna use this railing here as yeah my my leveler so i'm gonna
try and keep the camera level i think this railing is pretty level and i'm just gonna put the L
bracket on the railing and i'm gonna sweep portrait shots from left to right i'm gonna do
that using manual focus so i'm focusing on the trees over there a mosquito is biting me over here
the things i do to get a photograph ridiculous and i just hope that i can stitch this pano together
because i think it can be pretty awesome so that sky is absolutely exploding right now
and i'm quickly taking yet another pano and i damn hope that this is going to stitch together
because it will be absolutely awesome with those colors oh oh my word i need to get one here
also i think i got the pano but oh the water is also coloring now oh mosquitoes
i freaking hate this job oh just kidding i love it i absolutely love it
this is awesome look at that cloud look at that sky
i had one chance to go somewhere and i just thought let's go here and then it gets this good
you know the composition is not the best for sure but i'll take anything with a sky like this
you know it's days like this where you just don't know where to look just just look at this business
just look at this while another mosquito is biting my hand just look at this
but look at this sky here oh my god absolutely worth every single mosquito bite what more do
you want what more do you want so i'm just going to place you here for a minute so you can
enjoy watching that sky yes so from this beautiful spot in sweden i'm going to end
this first episode of the scandinavian road trip so make sure to subscribe if you enjoyed
