Hi, I'm Adrian.
If you're new, welcome,
and if you're not new, welcome back.
Today, we're gonna talk about boron.
I'm gonna give you a quick list now
of the reasons why it's so vitally important
that you learn more about this little-known mineral,
and then we'll dive more into details.
So number one, arthritis,
and the reason I did my research,
it has a profound impact on improving arthritis,
and it's dramatic how quickly it can do that.
Number two, it's important for bone growth and maintenance.
Number three, it greatly increases
the speed of wound healing.
Number four, it has profound effects
on the sex hormones, estrogen and testosterone.
It also helps prevent vitamin D deficiency.
Number five, it's very important
for the absorption of magnesium into the bones.
Number six, it's a strong anti-inflammatory.
Number seven, it increases the levels
of the antioxidant enzymes.
Number eight, I think it was,
it protects against oxidative stress,
and it helps prevent against heavy metal toxicity,
and I think it's useful to remove
heavy metals from the body.
Number 10, it improves cognitive performance,
brain electroactivity, and short-term memory in the elderly,
and hopefully in the not-so-elderly.
It's been shown to have preventative
and therapeutic effects for cancers
such as prostate, cervical, lung,
and multiple non-Hodgkin's lymphomas,
and I suspect it helps with other cancers too.
And the final one, it's a strong antifungal.
Let's roll the intro, and we'll get straight into it.
First of all, what is it?
Boron is a trace mineral.
It's a micronutrient.
It's absolutely vital for the functioning of life
in plants, animals, and human beings.
Recent research suggests that it's probably vital
for the actual evolution of life on Earth,
and yet for some reason, it's largely ignored.
Until I went doing my research,
particularly about arthritis, I'd never heard of boron.
Boron has tremendous beneficial effects
when it comes to arthritis,
and appears to massively improve that.
Now, certainly in my situation,
what I went looking for was,
I love walking, and where I live,
it's beautiful, beautiful with the mountains
and everything, it's amazing.
After a long walk, I'd struggle to get up from the seat,
and certainly for the next day or two,
I was very, very sore around my hips and my lower back,
and also, I do a lot of work with my hands.
I love working on things,
and certainly in the cold weather,
my hands were getting really sore,
as were my shoulders.
I did my research, got into that,
and all those things are absolutely fine now.
I'm a little stiff sometimes after a walk,
it passes very quickly.
When I was doing my research about boron and arthritis,
I came across an Australian guy,
and in the description below,
I'll put links to the other documents that refer to this.
Now, he was a plant specialist,
and he realized that boron was important for plants,
but he had arthritis.
I don't remember why he got into this,
but he started taking boron, his arthritis went away.
He stopped taking boron,
the arthritis came back again,
he started taking boron,
I don't actually know why he stopped in the first place,
but anyway, he started taking again,
and the arthritis went away.
Told other people about it,
he started helping them,
started producing pills for them.
He'd got such strong demand for it,
he asked a pharmaceutical company to help him,
and I think they took the Royal Hump with him,
or maybe it interfered with their profit model,
I've got no idea what was driving that,
but basically, the government was lobbied,
he was no longer allowed to do what he was doing,
and if you do research on borax now,
it's actually registered as a poison,
which is really interesting,
because we'll get onto that later on.
Anyway, so, if you do your research on arthritis and boron,
what's really interesting is,
in the areas of the world that have got high boron content
in the groundwater and the soil,
they have the lowest rates of arthritis on the planet,
around or less than 1%.
I think Israel particularly has very high boron content.
The Xhosa tribe in South Africa
drink high boron content water,
and they have an arthritis level of about 3%,
yet when the tribal members move away to cities
and start on the local produce and the local water,
their arthritis levels raise up
to the levels common in that area.
If you look at the areas with the lowest boron content
in the groundwater and the soil,
they have the highest rates of arthritis around the world,
anywhere from 20 to 70%.
So that, to me, was a massive, massive thing.
I've certainly found it to be incredibly beneficial.
Boron's important for bone growth and maintenance,
and it prevents calcium loss and demineralisation,
so I suspect it would have a strong hand in osteoporosis
or the prevention or health prevention of that,
especially teamed up with magnesium.
And an interesting thing about bone growth,
it also makes the bones incredibly strong.
I remember reading a really interesting thing
about an elderly woman who was scheduled
to have a hip replacement,
and I think she was in her 80s, if I remember rightly.
She fell down a flight of stairs.
Now, old people are like fragile glass normally,
and that normally would have been catastrophic,
and she'd have broken a lot of bones.
Didn't break anything, and in fact,
when she went for the hip surgery,
they had to change the saw out
because the bones were so strong,
the saw they were using couldn't cope,
and she'd been using boron, I think, for about six months.
So if you want strong bones,
I think boron's probably the way to go.
Boron greatly improves wound healing.
I only came across this recently,
but an application of 3% boric acid to a deep wound
reduced the time required in intensive care by 2 thirds.
So that's absolutely amazing.
Now, apparently, it facilitates the activity
of the enzymes in the fibroblasts,
which are very, very important in wound healing.
I've got no idea what that means.
Sounds really impressive,
but clearly these medical guys
know what they're talking about.
Boron beneficially enhances the body's use of vitamin D,
so it can be used to help prevent vitamin D deficiency.
It increases the bioavailability and the half-life
of both vitamin E2 and vitamin D,
and I'm pretty certain E2 was linked to Alzheimer's,
and we'll come on to that later on when we talk about memory.
Boron supplementation increases the level of sex steroids
in both men and women, and that's estrogen and testosterone,
and that's really, really important for men and women,
especially as you get older,
because those levels normally drop.
Boron enhances magnesium absorption,
and since 60% of the body's magnesium,
I believe it is, is stored in the bones.
I presume that's why it makes the bones so strong as well,
because magnesium's like the glue, if you will, in the bones.
It's also what makes tea strong.
Incidentally, as an aside,
animals that eat other animals, like carnivores,
like cats and dogs, especially cats,
they have five times more boron in their teeth than humans do,
so I think boron also makes your teeth really strong,
which also would make sense if it's making your bones strong.
Boron's a strong anti-inflammatory.
That's a good thing, because inflammation
is one of the things that causes problems in the body.
It's also one of the body's responses to problems.
It also raises the levels of the antioxidant enzymes,
and antioxidants are vitally important in the body.
Boron prevents against oxidative stress
and heavy metals toxicity,
and I have read that it can help remove
heavy metals from the body, again,
when used in conjunction with magnesium,
and there is two videos I've done on magnesium,
a short version and a long version,
and they'll be one of the positions up here in a minute.
It improves cognitive performance, brain electrical activity,
and short-term memory in the elderly,
and this one's really interesting as well.
It has preventative and therapeutic effects
in a range of cancers, and this is just some I read about,
and I suspect there are more, prostate cancer,
cervical cancer, lung cancer,
and multiple non-Hodgkin's lymphomas.
It's also a really strong antifungal,
and I believe that's why it works so well with the cancers.
There's several ways of getting more in your diet,
because I think most of us are short of it,
and I suspect, again, it's because we either live in areas
where there's low boron content in the groundwater
and the food supply in the local soil,
or it's just no longer available in the foodie mill
because the food's coming from areas
where it's just not in the soil at the level it could.
You could take boron supplementation,
or you could try and find foods high in boron,
things like avocados, apricots, peaches, prunes, currants.
For me, what I decided to do was get Borax.
I get one level teaspoon.
I add that to a liter bottle of filtered water,
and I let it dissolve, and it takes a little while,
even when you shake it like mad,
and then I take one teaspoon
of the resultant mixture every morning.
I've been taking that every day for about three years now,
and I've been taking the magnesium as well
by applying it topically,
which you'll see in the other videos.
Those two things there, I have no pain in my hands at all,
no matter how cold it is,
whereas before, they used to get very sore and stiff.
My hips, after a long walk,
yeah, sometimes they're a little sore if it's a long walk,
but that passes, whereas before,
it would be several days before I could walk properly again,
and the pain and discomfort in my shoulders,
I tend to sleep on one side with my arm out
or the other side with the other arm out,
and these shoulders would be just,
it would be hard to get out of bed in the morning.
It was so sore.
I have none of that anymore.
Now, I'm sure everyone's results will vary,
but that information's really interesting,
and I'd encourage you to do some more digging on Boron
and have a look into it,
especially if you have things like arthritis
and you're interested in the other health benefits as well.
It's something that I wouldn't be without,
and I think it's something
that could probably help you as well.
That's everything.
If you've used Boron and you have some experiences with it,
pop a note in the comments below,
and let's enhance the discussion on that one,
and I will see you in the next video.
