The deadline past 2 weeks ago and the boat car is still not on the road. This week we have made the final push to get the vehicle back on the road. Chris reinstalled the brakes but towards the end had to use our local garage to finish it off the rest.

A family documenting their \"boat car\" adventures faces a setback when their vehicle breaks down and is towed to a warehouse. The video follows their efforts to repair the car, the frustrations of waiting for parts, and their determination to get back on the road to continue their journey.
That's Amari, that's Vanessa, that's Ava, that's me and that's Chris.
We're the family traveling a million miles in our boat car. We hope you enjoy our journey.
Hi, if you're just finding our channel, welcome to the adventure and if you're returning,
thank you for your support. Previously on Boat Car Adventures, we took a drive through the
and found a local place to pick up some eggs. On our way to Lyme Regis, whilst we were in Weymouth,
we broke down, which later resulted in our car being towed back to the warehouse
and our adventure being temporarily halted. So here we are, the deadline.
We must get this car boat back out on the road and on the water.
How are you supposed to do this? How can I send you something with no instructions?
Let's go all the way over there. I'm gonna get that over there. Two hours later.
So I can circle it? Yeah, but it's not probably it. This is the hardest thing. If we weren't on the
brakes, this would have been in already and connected up. This one might be a bit easier
because I can probably bend this one in. Which one's gonna be? Is it that way? Oh, that one's easy.
I think that's it. I think so. If not, you know how to take it apart. It looks like it. Yeah, that looks like it.
Before the shaft could be put back in, we had to get the bearings pressed
back on. But because we didn't have a bearing press, we had to use one of our local garages.
With the bearings pressed on, it was time to get this car back together.
Right, so I've just loosened off these two bolts for the cylinder because I've got a feeling
I'm gonna have to take them off to get the brake pads back in. So I'll do it now so I can see what I'm
doing and tighten them up afterwards once the brake pads are in place. What are your thoughts, Elaine?
I have no thoughts until it's actually on and rolling. Good thing about fixing the car yourself
is that you not only get to know how it works, because that's important, garages cannot mug you off.
That's important. But they're not that hard to do. Just think of it as a Meccano set.
If you can do a Meccano set, you can fix a car. It doesn't matter what car it is. What's a Meccano set?
No, Meccano set's like those, not Lego, you know those, I would say it's not Lego, but
I can't describe it, the mechanical, you basically put them together. Oh, okay. Yeah, and you put all the
bits, you put a motor in, make it work, like those toy things, where you get for kids. Well, I think
they're more for adults, if you ask me. But yeah, if you can do one of those, then you can fix your car.
No doubts about it at all. And save yourself a lot of money as well, because there's some jobs you can do
and some jobs, obviously, like I can do all of this to a fair, but if I can't bother, I'll pay someone to do
the brakes. Because I want the brakes, number one, to be safe, but I'm sure I can do the
brakes. I've done brakes before, just not rear ones, but as I said, it's just the same principle.
Right, that's nearly on. Can't wait to connect the hose pipes up and try that.
That's something I've done, it's different on this vehicle, so every time something goes
wrong with it, I try and put it back together, but improve on something else.
Morning guys, or afternoon. Afternoon. Yeah. Right, so I've managed to fix,
I'll say fixed, haven't I? You've pretty much done like 95% of the work. I've put the
bearings back in, put the shaft in, all the brakes. But it's copped out. The rear drums.
It's copped out. I'm not doing it again. I'm not doing it again, it was the worst. Yeah, I can't,
I'm not going to do it again. I'll pace on to the rear drums. But I've given in on the rear drums,
I've put them together, I've put the brake pads all in, all the springs, the clips, everything's
put together. It seems to be all in order, it's just the adjustment bit. I've gone past carrying.
So I'm going to get someone to pick this car up and take it to their unit and finish the job off.
Yeah, so hopefully we're going to be back on the road. Later. Later. It's a fail,
it's definitely a fail for me. No, it's not a fail, definitely not, definitely ain't. You've
done a lot. And if you really, really wanted to, I'm sure you would have found a way to do it. No,
I would have done it, but I just can't bother, I'm tired now. I've been up literally yesterday,
well, how many weeks? Four weeks. It's been four weeks. Four weeks. Almost. And most of that is
waiting for parts. Yeah, it's unbelievable. And yeah, and obviously we ordered parts
literally when it broke down and we've just got the parts a couple of days ago. Yeah. And that
you mean the ones that turned up from the place that we actually ordered it from? Originally,
yeah. When it broke down. Yeah. We've now found a few people who do supply parts,
so we'll be getting all of them in the future. But it's been a journey. It has been. Without
going anywhere. Exactly, exactly. So we are going to be back on the road. Hopefully. We're going to,
no, not hopeful. We're definitely going to be back on the road. We'll stay positive, yeah.
And we are going to carry on our journey, our adventure. Where are we going to go to next?
Why do you always ask me? But before we go for a drive, I think it's only fair
that we name this car, boat. Well, you can't name anything. What, stay at home? No. It hasn't gone
anywhere. I think we do need to name it. We don't know yet. I think, I don't know. We'll go out,
go for a drive, have a chat, see what's good in terms of names that would be suitable for a car,
boat that goes everywhere. Yeah. Any ideas? Please comment. Yeah. Like and subscribe to
all your stuff. Smash that like button. That's important. If you like our content, it's all...
It's all going to get a bit naughty soon, so yeah, you definitely have to subscribe.
Yeah, you've got to subscribe. We've got a lot of stuff coming up and I'm not even
I do not know what to expect. All we know, we're going to do something. Yeah. And we're just going
to do it. Yeah. Whatever. And so just keep following and you'll know exactly when, how,
where we're going to be. Yeah. And yeah. Yeah. I'm nervous but kind of like... Nervous but excited.
Excited. Yeah. Because we know what this car's like. So between now and then, I've got a lot,
or we shall say, I can't say I, there's a whole family of us. We've got a lot of stuff to do in
this car. Yeah. And we can end up in Scotland, we can be in Essex, we can be in France, Holland,
Spain, anywhere. So I've just got to make sure. All right then. I've got to make sure this car is
fit and reliable. For the purpose. For whatever we're going to do because we don't know what
we're going to do. We're just going to do it. So I've just got to make sure this is 100%
or 99.99%. It's a boat car. It's got two elements. Ready to go on a journey wherever it takes us.
Yeah. So I think our guys are going to be coming over soon to come and get our car.
I think they may be coming over. Yeah. So our baby's gone. Yeah. It's going to go over to them
to finish it off. Yeah. And we'll be back with you guys soon. Oh my god. I'll push this up myself.
Right. Soon to get finished. Hopefully. Oh, so I messed up. Isn't it Matt?
Right. I'll just put the wheels on for now because obviously
I just couldn't adjust it. So he said I'd come to the number one repairers in the UK.
So I'll let you know how it goes in a minute.
