AI GeneratedThe speaker shares home decor updates to achieve a \"luxury Parisian hotel\" aesthetic and documents a cozy Friday night tradition. By layering linen curtains, installing vintage lighting, and preparing a curated Trader Joe's feast, she emphasizes the importance of intentional, collected pieces and shared rituals in romanticizing daily life and creating a sophisticated, cozy home.
I am in love, in love.
Thank you Two Pages for partnering with us on today's video.
I am absolutely losing my mind over these curtains.
They look like and feel like a Parisian, luxury Parisian hotel room.
I feel absolutely, I can't believe this is my bedroom.
I am just so in love.
As I continue to train my eye and fine tune my style, I'm constantly tweaking our home
and making little changes.
And I feel like these small little changes are truly what make all the difference in
any space.
But in our space, that's exactly how I feel with these curtains.
I am just, like I said, I can't believe this is my room.
This is the most decorated I have ever done, or most I've ever decorated our room.
It feels, I wish you could be in here right now, it feels absolutely dreamy.
This is the Joy sheer linen curtain, which is in every single room of our apartment.
I call it our house curtain.
I love this sheer, it is so romantic.
It's airy, when we have the doors open, it just dances in the wind.
But it also gives this beautiful filtered light in the space that feels very romantic.
But I wanted to differentiate the rest of the apartment from our bedroom.
I wanted to make our bedroom feel more like a luxury Parisian hotel room.
That's why I added in another layer of curtains and this completely changed the whole vibe
in this room and it was such a simple addition.
These are the Erin Elegant 100% linen curtain with a triple tailor pleat.
I kind of feel like the triple tailor pleat is like the older, more sophisticated, more
elegant sister.
I've talked about this so many times, but I love to look to hotels and restaurants for
inspiration for our home, specifically the feeling of the home.
Because they have a down.
When you go to a really nice restaurant or you stay at a really nice hotel, there's just
this feeling.
And so I tried to pay attention to what that feeling is.
And when it comes to a luxury bedroom, of course there's the bedding and there's the
layers and it's clean, it's taut, it's made and it's beautiful.
But also, those hotel rooms that I'm talking about, when you walk in, it feels like the
room is hugging you.
It feels familiar.
It feels just safe and cozy and that is what these curtains instantly did when we hung
them up.
They absorbed the echo that was in this room.
They make it feel like a hug when we walk in, but also it feels so elevated.
I feel fancy in here.
They are just absolutely stunning.
I do love a bit of sophistication to my home, but I don't like it to be too sophisticated.
So that's why I wanted to go with a linen curtain because it's a little bit more organic,
inviting and approachable.
I love the mix of the two.
I'm always looking for ways to, if I do something very, you know, tailored and sophisticated,
I want to offset it with something that's less serious or just...
I can't believe this is my room.
It's a dream.
It's so...
It's just so beautiful in here and truly, these curtains are really...
They were the cherry on top.
I'll make sure I have my discount code and all of the details for both sets of curtains
down in the description.
The other area that's getting a small update, a very small update, is the living room.
I got these light fixtures from Call It New a couple of months ago.
It's taken us this long to get them up and today we're going to get them up on the back
of the wall here.
We have struggled to get them up on the back of the wall, but we've been able to get them
with light in this living room the entire time we've lived here.
I got this light back here, this task light, from an antique store and it's actually been
so nice to have that light.
I'm deciding if I want to keep it in here for like a layered light look or if I want
to put it in the room for like a reading light.
I love a layered light next to the bed as well, having your bedside table lamps and
a task light.
To me, I just really love the way that looks and feels.
It feels very effortless and that's what I'm always going for.
So these, I got these thinking in the future I'll use them as bedside sconces.
They do have this piece here, this rod, obviously we can't hardwire and I think some people
would prefer these as a bedside, but for me, this I actually think adds a lot of character
and charm, so I'm fine with it and I am thrilled to get these up on the wall.
I found these, like I said, a couple of months ago, they've been on my floor in my office
and I'm like, okay, we need to do our small little updates that have been on our list
and today's the day.
So Zach is going to come in here and help me get these up and I am so beyond excited.
The person who had these in their booth did a whole situation, which is so nice.
I think it was missing the back plate and they made this wood piece and put tape in
here and a piece of tape on here to number it and put it together.
So super simple, very, very smart and as long as it lines up, that's all we need.
So this is number one, this side out and yeah, he even put a little hole in here for the
cord and everything.
So should be pretty simple.
I feel like we've been saying that and it's never really simple.
So anyway, okay, let's get these up.
Do you want it there or do you want it higher?
No, no, no, no, no.
I think middle, yeah.
Lower even.
Maybe even lower.
Yeah, let's do it.
I think you can do middle.
Middle?
Do you think lower?
No, no, no.
Middle?
No, yeah.
No, no, no.
Oh yeah, I think middle.
Middle.
Is it heavy?
No.
Just a tinge lower.
I think actually maybe...
Well just maybe...
Do you think it needs to be level or the middle of the part?
I think it needs to be to this room, yeah.
Okay.
Hold on.
Hold it there.
Let me check one more time.
Yeah, I like that.
All right.
It looks...
You know what it feels to me?
Like pirate should be.
I kind of like the cord.
It feels a little more old world, you know?
And swing arms are often like more for bedside tables, but that doesn't bother me.
I get what you're saying, because it's like it's not really practical.
You never like swing this.
But...
It kind of adds a little more character.
We can't put it on our bedside.
I know.
We have windows.
I know.
But we will be able to.
That's what I...
Okay, I'm going to keep them for...
I thought, oh, in the future, these will be so perfect for a bedroom.
But these would look cute on the wall.
How much were these?
49 bucks or 48 bucks a piece.
That's actually a pretty decent price.
Yeah.
I want to get new shades, like a box plate or something.
I think that's cute.
Really?
I didn't know if I was going to say cool or cute, but it's cute.
Yeah.
It just adds something to it.
Honestly, I'm not going to lie.
I said this, too.
It kind of reminds me of a ship or whatever.
Did I say that?
You know what kind of goes with the artwork?
Yes.
Did I say that?
Yes, you did.
I didn't even think about it.
Oh, yeah.
Like the sea and like...
And what's funny is like two months ago, I said tiny, where almost you couldn't even tell.
You should put like a sailboat or a ship out in the distance.
Yeah.
Whoa, that was weird.
And I just thought about that.
This sheet's like really crooked.
Let me try the other one.
I adore this.
I think this is exactly what this wall needed.
I love them.
I love the way these fixtures made the living room feel like a home.
Honestly, the living room has always been kind of our placeholder decor, which is so
against everything I ever say.
I always say buy long-term, buy the items that you collect over time and you could take
them from home to home.
But because the pieces I would buy for the living room...
Granted, if I found a coffee table or if I found a media console, that's where I would
break...
You know, I would get those.
But the sofa, we're not replacing until we move.
And we decided on that because we don't know the layout.
We don't like...
Basically, we're not going to get the sofa.
Anyway, all that to say, the living room has always kind of felt like our placeholder decor.
But adding these makes the living room feel cozy.
It feels collected.
It feels like it belongs with the rest of the apartment.
Just one simple little change did that.
And it just...
I love them.
As I mentioned, I bought these for a long-term vision.
And that's a thing, too, is when you're sourcing vintage or secondhand items that are more
of those antique pieces that you're going to keep for a long time, sometimes you...
Like these, I envisioned in a house, like in a guest bedroom.
But I thought, oh, they'd be perfect about the couch for our temporary space.
So if things come along that way, I absolutely will get them.
And it just really made this space...
Hopefully, that all makes sense, by the way.
But it really made this space feel a little bit more complete.
It really feels cozy in here.
I cannot wait to turn these on tonight and just kind of, like, get more of that feeling.
I do think...
Oh, and I think I'm going to go try to find a box pleat...
I want something a little bit more sophisticated, but a box pleat lampshade.
Potentially still a drum shade.
That would be fine as well.
But I want it to be a little bit more of, like, this ivory.
A little bit, you know...
Maybe not.
I don't know.
But I just figured we got to get these lamps off the floor.
So let's put them up.
These can, you know, be here until I find the lampshade.
And that's one thing about me is I will...
And I've said this so many times.
I will live in an empty home, if I have to, before I buy something just to buy it.
I will search the depths of every single source that I can to find exactly what I'm looking for.
Or something that I didn't know I was looking for.
And that's just kind of been my philosophy my whole life.
So, anyway.
I do think we're going to take the task light and put it in the bedroom.
Layer in my light on the bedside.
I love that look, as I just mentioned.
Again, it's just that effortless, almost collected look and feeling that I'm always desiring for our home.
So I'm excited.
Because at night, I like to read.
And I like to do, like, my cross-stitch or my embroidery.
So it'll be perfect to have it there.
Because I can have that on and it has, like, a lower setting that's a little bit more moodier.
And I just... I think it's going to be perfect in there.
So, let's go put it in there.
This is where I think this is going to live.
And I've got to get it in here right.
So I think what I need to do is move out...
Because I don't want to, like, bonk my head on it at the night.
So I'm going to move my lamp over.
Oh, that's so good.
I've seen rooms on Pinterest where they do this, like, layered light look.
And I just adore it.
I think it's just so unique and so different.
And you don't see it a lot.
And I think that's what draws me to it a lot.
So, I think I'm going to have to, like, maybe move some things around a little bit to get it just right.
And, obviously, I can swing it and move it.
Yeah, that's cool.
I love that.
It's just so cool.
I'm into that.
Do you like it?
You don't like it.
I was going to come in thinking, like, it's too much.
I kind of like it.
It kind of balances it out, you know.
But I was like, is it light on light?
That's what I was going to say.
I know, because it seems so bizarre because you don't see it very often.
But there are two purposes.
You could use that for light.
Yeah.
But that almost looks like a reader light.
Yeah.
And that looks like that's just an ambiance, like, turndown service.
Yes.
The lamp.
And then I can swing it, too.
So, like, you know.
That was the cutest.
Look, I can swing it, too.
But you know what I mean?
No, I don't.
I can, like, push it over here.
Yeah.
Cute, right?
I literally was going to come in and be like, it's too much going on with it.
I like it kind of.
I was afraid you were going to think it was going to be too much.
But, and Zach is a tough critic.
Like, he, not tough, but you'll be brutally honest.
Like, Zach will be honest and it will make me think.
And I like it because it kind of pushes me to.
I don't feel like I'm trying to be rude or anything.
No, no, no, no.
I didn't mean, like, brutally rude.
I meant, like, basically you kind of just, like, say, like, you don't sugarcoat it for me.
And I don't want him to sugarcoat it for me.
I want him to, like, kind of stretch my brain a little bit.
You like it?
I like it.
Okay.
Yeah, it is.
It's just interesting.
Are the levels okay with, like, the.
I think so.
Try it out for a night or two.
Maybe you don't like it.
Maybe you do.
Maybe tomorrow you have a different opinion.
I think it does feel layered.
It feels like.
I feel like a layered home to me is kind of like, you know, like a chic grandparent that have been collecting for many, many years, you know?
Not that old.
I like it.
Yeah, I like it.
Especially you've been reading at night.
I know.
I feel like that would be cute.
Yeah.
It actually even looks better over here.
Yeah, I like it.
Okay, cool.
Yay.
Went to Trader Joe's and picked up a few items.
I actually just shared all of this over on Instagram.
And then I thought, hello, start the vlog.
I got to show you guys all that we got because we got some fun stuff for the weekend and for making some food.
I think I told you this, but Zach and I have been doing like kind of a Friday night in for the past few months.
And it is, we look forward to it every single week.
We just try to make Friday a little bit more special, like do a tablescape or some sort of tablescape.
And then we make like a little homemade meal.
So tonight we're doing kind of like a appetizer spread is the vibe for tonight.
So we went to Trader Joe's to get the items for that.
But I thought I would show you what else we got.
Also, I don't know if you've been to Trader Joe's recently, but they have all of their fall stuff.
I saw pumpkin spice sheet cake.
I saw the apple cider donuts.
I saw apple cider.
I saw, what else did I see?
I saw all kinds of pumpkin spice stuff.
So we ended up getting the, I don't know if you've had the Kringle from Trader Joe's, but this stuff is incredible.
It's like a very dense pastry.
So this is the pumpkin spice flavor.
They also had cherry there.
I've also seen it in almond, tons of different flavors, but I think we've had the pumpkin before.
I'm pretty sure because I love pumpkin.
That's one thing about me is I love like the pumpkin flavor.
I just, it's so good to me.
And then I got some fresh flowers.
I actually haven't bought fresh flowers in a while.
But when I saw these, they just kind of felt like very transitional, you know, transitioning into fall, very mauve and kind of, you know, like the fall colors.
So I picked up the flowers to put in both bathrooms.
How beautiful.
So we have mums.
And then I don't know how you say this one, but I'll put it on.
I'm not even going to try to pronounce it.
You know me, I can't say anything.
Then, okay.
Let's see.
Zach picked up a couple things to try.
So the honey mustard popcorn.
They've had a couple other variations of this, like buffalo, hot honey, and that one was kind of spicy.
So we're going to try this one with you.
And then he also got, one thing about Zach is he loves sparkling water.
I mean, he drinks sparkling water all day long.
And I try to like sparkling water so bad.
Like I keep trying to like it.
And I just don't think it's my thing.
Like I like something fizzy, but I don't know.
I'm just not crazy about it personally.
But he got the tangerine vanilla.
Let me know if you like sparkling water because I kind of feel like it's kind of like you do or you don't.
Maybe I'm wrong.
So for tonight, we're going to do, oh, also I did get more basil.
So, oh, here comes Zach.
He'll come in to try some stuff.
Some, all of it.
All of it.
I got basil for the kitchen.
I got mint for the bar.
I like to do a restock.
I try to do it every week.
I don't always get to it every week.
Sometimes, you know, that's just how it goes.
We also got the rice and we got refried beans.
So just kind of like normal stock up.
We got for one, well, actually, I think we'll film tonight and I'll show you kind of like our little spread.
But cherry tomatoes on the vine for the spread.
I like cherry tomatoes on the vine.
I think it has like a little bit more of like a, what's that word that you use?
Like if it's a garden fresh flavor?
Earthy.
And I like that.
Rather than like, you know how sometimes they don't come on the vine.
It's like, you know, I think it has a completely different flavor.
And I prefer the on the vine.
More basil because we made a lot tonight.
We actually ran out of the glaze, the balsamic glaze.
But this is also for tonight as well.
For tonight, peppered salami.
Fig and olive crackers.
Best crackers at Trader Joe's, in my opinion.
I love these.
We've been buying these for years.
Yeah, you love those.
Yes.
And then, so Zach was going to make.
I want to do like a little appetizer, a little protein, a little.
I was going to make a homemade tomato sauce and then do homemade meatballs,
which I've done before.
But I had the breadcrumbs, I was getting ground beef, some ground pork.
And then you pointed these out and I'm like, I'm getting those.
What about this?
And he's like, twist my arm.
Like make things a little easier.
I think if we were just doing that and like spaghetti or something,
I'd probably still homemade them.
But like with everything we're doing, I feel like those will just be easy.
Yeah.
And we thought sometimes we'll do like a charcuterie board,
but we'd never have enough protein.
Yeah.
It's all crackers and bread and some cheese.
So that's why we got the meatballs and then the, well,
we usually have this on there, but you know.
Also, we're doing a bruschetta.
There's someone at a brewery we go to, he told us this recipe,
so we're going to try it.
Yeah.
We'll show you later.
It's like goat cheese, bell pepper, onion.
Yeah.
On a crostini or anything.
And I told him, I said, your recipe's not safe with me.
I'm sharing with the vlog.
Mozzarella pearls, goat cheese, unexpected cheddar,
which I think is one of the better cheeses.
Like if you're doing a charcuterie and you're having friends over,
I think it's a very safe cheese.
I was going to say, it's very safe.
Yeah.
Everyone that tries it likes it.
Yeah.
For the most part.
Yeah.
Cause it's not very offensive.
It's not like,
like there's a lot of people that we know personally that don't like blue
cheese or, you know, like some cheeses are a bit strong for people.
Or smoked or Gouda.
There's always something weird.
This one's pretty mild for like a charcuterie.
Yes.
I love figs.
That's one thing I want in a house is a fig tree and we can actually grow
fig trees here.
So I would get one of those,
but I picked up some figs not only because I actually really do love the
flavor,
but they look so beautiful on a tablescape or on like a little charcuterie.
So excited about that ciabatta.
And then I got some limes and garlic for the little like kitchen
refresh slash for cooking.
So I told them that you got those.
I said,
Zach has a sparkling water all day long.
A lot of people say that it tastes like stat.
I feel like I've talked about this a million times.
It tastes like static,
but I kind of enjoy that.
It's pretty good.
It's tangerine.
It's like vanilla.
It almost tastes like a vanilla soda.
Really?
Like for me,
it's not cold.
Oh,
it's like very vanilla.
Oh,
yeah,
that's actually pretty good.
I'm a big drinker.
Yeah,
that sounds bad.
No,
I asked Brady.
I have to have a drink.
If it doesn't have to be alcohol,
but like,
I love a soda,
not even a soda,
like a diet soda,
a water,
something fizzy,
something.
Yeah.
Mostly something flavored.
That's like,
you like it.
So I just have to have a drink,
you know?
Yeah.
And now I can't remember if I already showed this to you,
but we got the pumpkin crinkle.
I think I did tell you,
but so good.
These,
I haven't bought these,
one of these in five years.
Probably.
They,
when I first worked at Trader Joe's,
this was 10 years ago.
Uh,
people all the time would be like,
Oh,
I'm from there,
this town or that area.
Or I remember getting them from there.
Yeah.
Back in the day,
Trader Joe's,
we only got like the almond one.
And then I remember one year we got,
I think it was the pumpkin.
Here,
let me open this.
My favorite one of all time was the raspberry.
I don't know why I like that one.
Raspberry.
They had a pecan one.
Yeah.
And then one year we got a cheesecake one.
Okay.
The one I saw today,
they have a cherry one.
I've never tried that one.
I felt like we did try the pumpkin.
But I don't get them because they're so good,
but I could eat the whole thing.
But someone at one time told me to chop it up
and put it in little baggies and put it in the freezer.
Smart.
And just take it out in the morning
and you have a little bit.
This is actually kind of a hack for,
if you have guests over
and you don't have time to cook,
you can have a little pastry.
Well,
it's a little bit stuck.
Oh,
also,
we got to try this.
And I want to try the popcorn.
That sounds so crazy.
Zach and I,
this is,
I think this is the last thing.
Neither of us have tried Dubai chocolate,
which is crazy because it was all the rape.
I remember everything was Dubai chocolate.
And so we're going to try it today.
I want to show you.
Wow.
It's like so good.
It's a big Danish.
Yeah.
It's so good though.
Okay,
let's try it.
Should we try this first?
I feel like it might.
Now everyone's tried this before.
Probably,
but I think the raspberry,
the pecan one,
or I think it was,
I mean,
maybe it's all the ones.
Good.
Isn't that one?
Just everyone I've had is good.
Yeah.
Well,
that means it's a good,
um,
pastry.
Let me know if you're like from this area
or you've ever been to the,
what's it called?
The Danish bakery.
And it's in Wisconsin.
Yeah.
Let us know.
Should I try the popcorn first?
Yeah.
It's savory.
Cheers.
That is weird.
It's weird.
I like mustard too.
It's weird.
I don't get the honey.
It tastes wrong.
Yeah.
It's very mustardy,
actually.
It's mustard.
Yeah.
Actually,
no.
I'm going to say it's kind of good.
This is not good.
You know what is good though?
The honey mustard,
those like really thick chips.
Oh,
I think so.
Those are good.
These are actually,
yeah,
no.
The more I'm eating it,
the worst.
And they're very,
I like mustard.
I love mustard on a sandwich.
I did.
I used to grow up and do cheddar cheese
and just put mustard on it,
but that's just mustardy popcorn.
It's kind of,
it doesn't work with me.
It doesn't work with you.
Or you have the bigger piece.
No,
I don't.
I need the smaller.
You've been lifting heavy.
here I'm doing this one.
I need a little smaller.
Oh,
it's actually,
it's filled too.
Yeah,
I chopped it up.
Cheers.
Oh,
yeah.
It's so good.
Oh,
warmed up too.
Put it in the oven,
microwave.
Mm hmm.
And there's like just the right amount of nuts to make it crunchy.
I do love,
I feel like too,
though,
for this one,
you gotta love pumpkin spice or spicy.
It's actually not overly pumpkin.
It's kind of like that all spice kind of flavor.
It's kind of like a pumpkin spice.
Yeah.
No,
you're kind of right.
Yeah.
Pumpkin spice.
Yeah.
I was going to say like,
you don't really taste pumpkin,
but you do.
But I think,
like I said,
I don't,
the original almond,
I think will always be like my favorite,
but then the raspberry con,
we saw the cherry one.
I almost got it,
but I'm like,
this is going to be enough.
Pecan would be a good one for like Thanksgiving morning.
Yeah.
These are good.
Even the pumpkin.
I said,
I might chop it up into like little,
uh,
like one or two inch squares.
That's smart.
Cause we can't eat that whole thing.
Or even if I could eat it all,
but yeah,
I need a palate cleanser.
I know.
How much was this?
We saw one at the store the other day.
I think it was only almost $15 for a bar.
I have no idea.
Yeah.
$3.99.
This was $3.99.
Yeah.
I don't know the quality or anything.
Do you remember the brand that was at the store?
The one that was $15?
I don't know.
$15.
And we almost bought it.
I'm like,
that's a lot for a chocolate bar.
Yeah.
We were like,
it's fine.
But it might be worth the 15 bucks,
depending on how this tastes.
This I caught in the corner of my eye when we were checking out.
I was like,
Oh,
we're getting that.
Right.
Brandy's the,
not bad,
but you were a very,
That little aisle?
Is that what you're talking about?
The check stand.
Uh huh.
You know,
they get you that last little minute.
Yeah.
Which is fine.
I always feel like that's where they keep the good stuff.
I close my eyes right there.
That's so funny.
I can't believe we haven't tried Dubai chocolate.
Do you want two?
Or should we just do two?
Let's do it.
All right.
It's Friday.
I was smelling it.
Is it dark chocolate?
Yeah.
Okay.
I don't know.
I like it.
It's good.
I think that Pringles,
a hundred times better.
I like it.
Yeah.
Man,
I'm already figured out.
I know.
No,
I like it.
Would you buy this again?
Yeah.
Okay.
Yeah,
I do.
I like it.
It's like kind of crunchy.
I think that's good.
I actually like it a lot.
You want another piece?
I better be cut off.
The chocolate's pretty soft too.
Yeah.
And like,
I really love dark chocolate though.
You get a lot of the dark chocolate flavor.
That's good.
That was good.
I like that a lot.
You would buy it again.
But I love pistachio too,
and I love dark chocolate.
That was fun.
Yum.
I'm excited for our little date night.
I know,
me too.
Party date night!
We are doing,
I think I mentioned this when we did the haul,
but we're doing appetizers.
We usually do Friday,
we've been doing pasta lately.
Because it's heavier,
it's going into the weekend,
we feel good.
We save it for Friday.
But then we decided,
let's do an appetizer,
or like,
Uh,
what's it called?
Not appetivo.
Appetivo.
Oh,
our.
Yeah.
Rainy hazard.
Yeah.
Margarita.
Oh,
my margarita?
Oh,
no,
it's Santa Margarita.
That's the line.
Hey,
I was halfway there.
My glass of vino.
We're going to do the,
we're going to do tomato sauce with meatballs,
unexpected cheddar with crackers,
maybe bread.
Like a tiny charcuterie.
Yeah.
Like one cracker,
one cheese,
one.
Yeah.
With peppered salami.
Yeah.
You're doing a little caprese skewers.
Yeah.
And then what was the last one?
The bruschetta.
Bruschetta that our friend,
I already sliced,
prepped the onions and the bell pepper.
We should get those on too.
Those take like an hour.
Yeah,
okay.
So we're going to start the sauce real quick.
This is just one we found.
So yeah,
if you're Italian,
let us know if this is good or bad.
Don't judge our cooking.
One of my old bosses,
her family is like Sicilian,
like very deep Italian.
And she hates red sauce,
tomato sauce,
marinara,
hates it.
She likes white sauce or garlic sauce,
but yeah,
it's just all crazy to me.
I know.
Okay.
Let's get to cooking.
Okay, let's go.
Okay,
we need this.
I got the apron on,
the hair up.
Oh,
by the way,
look at how cute this clip is.
Zach actually got it for me.
It looks so good on you.
I like that you like a little red.
I've been loving a touch of red.
I just think it's so chic,
very French.
And I have another clip that I got from Amazon,
but this actually,
my hair is like a little bit finer,
and this holds,
and it's a bigger clip.
It's darling.
Look at this.
So cute.
Hopefully you can see that.
Anyway,
that was not the point of turning this on.
I do like my hair out of my face,
though,
when I'm cooking.
So we have our pie.
We're doing a generous amount of olive oil
into a cold pie.
You think that's good or a little more?
I think double that.
Okay.
Like,
so maybe like two tablespoons-ish,
but a lot.
I love when Brandy,
I usually do the cooking,
but it's so fun when Brandy,
because you're a good cook.
I like to cook.
But it's like just getting in and doing it.
That's why Fridays,
I feel like have been special.
Yeah,
because I've been trying to cook on Fridays,
and Zach,
he does pick up,
like,
all the cooking,
and he's better at it.
No,
you're really,
no,
your food is really good.
It always has.
And it's really cute,
because I told Zach,
I want to get better at cooking,
so he'll help me,
and like kind of help me,
like,
okay,
cook the meat like this.
I hate cooking meat.
That's like my-
I'm not low-key.
Other than grilling,
I'm not a big meat cooker,
either.
I just-
What's that meme you sent me the other day,
that's like,
you cook the chicken,
you make sure it's cooked?
Yeah,
he's like checking it,
like every bite,
that's how you kind of feel.
Okay,
so you're going to,
I call these the butts,
the butts and guts.
You can take off the butts and guts,
and do them in quarters.
Roma tomatoes,
fresh,
clean.
I think five garlic cloves?
One's kind of small.
Actually,
okay,
so the other night,
we made,
um,
homemade,
what's that called?
Tomato soup,
with grilled cheese.
I made,
like,
a fresh loaf of sourdough.
That was so good.
It was so delicious,
because,
in Arizona,
we have-
do I need to really make sure
every seed is out?
No,
I think that's fine.
In Arizona,
like,
the summer,
we have our summer storms,
and this year,
we really haven't had very many,
which is kind of a bummer,
but it feels like,
that's like the fall time here,
because you want to be cozy,
and-
I know,
we were at the gym,
and we were like,
oh man,
it dropped a little under,
we almost made chili last night,
they're like,
chili?
I know,
I'm like,
sorry.
So,
as soon as that cloud hits that sky,
I'm like,
Zach,
you want me to make soup?
What do you want?
And I think the next day,
we did make,
oh no,
we made the tomato soup,
and then we made zuppa last week,
too,
or a week or two ago.
Yes,
and it's just so good,
but most of the time,
it's so hot here,
you don't even want to think about it,
so,
um,
our cheat code is,
we turn the AC down a little bit,
shut the blinds,
no,
when I made the soup for zuppa,
I forget which day,
on the TV,
I put on,
like,
stormy music,
so it felt awful.
In the fireplace,
it was so cute,
and what you guys don't know right now,
is we always usually have some,
like,
jazz music on,
just to kind of,
like,
set the Friday vibe,
and,
you know,
it's been fun to,
like,
kind of,
also kind of prioritize our Fridays,
and we,
both of us,
like,
look forward to it.
I do.
Which is so cute.
I was actually at Friends,
with Friends last week,
we just had something planned,
and we didn't get to do our Friday night,
and it,
it felt weird,
like,
yesterday,
I was like,
I can't wait for our Friday night,
I know.
I feel like we haven't done it in months,
and I was like,
it's been a while.
I know,
because we really,
like,
look forward to it,
it's so fun.
And too,
like,
I do try to,
like,
you know,
I'll make a cute little moment,
like,
I do turn down,
or I'll try to,
like,
romanticize our life just a little bit,
but during the week,
like,
you know,
when you're in the hustle and bustle,
sometimes,
like,
we don't do the cutie stuff.
So,
this just makes it feel even more special.
