1 killed, 1 seriously hurt in Highland Park crash

A fatal single-vehicle crash occurred in Highland Park on Woodward Avenue near the Davison. A black Chevy Equinox crossed the center line and struck a telephone pole, resulting in the death of a 36-year-old male passenger from Detroit and leaving the driver in serious condition. Authorities believe high speed and alcohol were contributing factors.
