Let's make a simple chicken salad.
Need the lettuce, some fresh curtain,
a juicy pack of chicken.
Also, that's only five bucks.
Can't beat that.
And then a little bit of butter.
All right, let's make it legit.
Need a pan.
Start off with slicing my bacon.
I'm going little baby pieces.
And toss that in the pan.
I'm throwing some water to help break it up
so I don't have to do a bunch of caking around,
you know what I'm saying?
That actually worked really well, actually.
All right, just let that water evaporate.
Now I'm gonna butterfly my chicken.
Bro, that is a massive freaking breast.
What?
Who are they feeding that guy?
All right, I think I'm just gonna cook two.
Now I'm just gonna butterfly.
All right, I got my chicken butterfly.
I also went ahead and cut it in pieces.
They're just massive.
They're not gonna fit in the pan.
Come back over here and start mixing in my bacon.
Bam.
Now we gotta decide what seasonings to use.
I got salt, got garlic, got black pepper, got some cumin.
We'll go a little bit of chili powder.
Back over here to crispen this up.
Dude, this is cooking so much faster than normal.
What the heck?
Sprinkle of kosher salt, a little bit of garlic powder,
some black pepper, little dust of cumin,
a tiny amount of that chili powder.
Come back over here and mix this in.
This is probably done by now.
Holy snap.
I'm gonna push that off the heat, turn that off,
and go ahead and pack in my chicken real good.
And we'll just flip it over and do the backside.
I'm just doing salt, pepper, garlic on the back.
And pack it in.
All right, I'm gonna rinse off my hands.
All right, I went ahead and removed the bacon.
I'm gonna dump in a little avocado oil.
Dang it, olive oil.
Go ahead and heat the pan back up.
We want it nice and hot.
While that heats up, I'm gonna chop up some garlic.
About three or four cloves.
All right, I gotta remove the stem,
but the pan's hot enough for sure.
I'm gonna grab my thickest filet.
Then we're gonna go right in the oil, just like so.
I'm not looking like I'm gonna fit all of them in the pan.
Uh-oh.
And now with the third piece.
All right, we'll go ahead and let that cook on high heat.
On medium-high heat.
And back to my garlic.
Ah, forget it, we're gonna dirty another dish.
Olive oil.
And since that one's for Iris,
and we're doing it separate,
I'm gonna get ours a little bit spicy
with some cayenne pepper.
Place this over here.
Same with my butter.
Go ahead and clean off me area.
Put down a new cutting board.
And we're gonna chop up me lettuce.
And now I think it's a good time
to go ahead and flip our chicken.
Look at that color.
Crank this up a little.
Go ahead and toss in me garlic.
And a nice sprig of rosemary.
Add two more garlic.
All right, my pan's hot.
We'll go ahead and place in this chicken.
In the sink.
Now I'm gonna throw in a big ol' knob of butter.
Eh, a little bit more, why not?
Back to me lettuce.
Okay, so I like to start off cutting off this.
Getting rid of it.
And on each of these backs,
I put the knife right here.
And slice it all the way down.
Rotate it and do it one more time.
And then you just chop, chop, chop, chop, chop.
Toss the booty.
And toss that into a bowl.
And then we'll do the rest.
Turn this heat down before I burn me chicken.
Uh-oh.
And we'll go ahead and start rolling this butter around
to infuse all those flavors.
It has been a couple minutes.
Flip my chicken.
Throw in the garlic.
And then a nice knob of butter.
Back to this.
Flip my chicken.
Again, go ahead and roll that butter around.
Incorporate all them flavors.
Same with this guy.
Roll it around.
We're looking for about 160 degrees.
Yeah, we'll let it cook for about three, four more minutes.
And then take it out.
That big one might need a little longer though.
But I'll cook that chicken.
And go ahead and start chopping up the carrots.
I use the back of the knife.
And just peel it like that.
Super easy.
Super simple.
Don't need no more dishes.
And just chop, chop, chop, chop, chop.
Bam.
Just like so.
Back over here to my chicken.
Give it a flip.
Give these ones a flip as well.
Bingo.
And this one's probably not even close.
Yes, you still need some more time.
But I am gonna go ahead and remove these little guys.
We're definitely done.
Dump out some of that butter just in case we burn it.
We'll go ahead and toss it in there.
Throw this in a separate bowl.
And clean off the area.
Just like so.
Got my Italian.
Got that nasty ranch.
Got me bacon.
Oh, flip my chicken one more time.
Don't wanna burn it.
Same with this guy.
And my crouton.
Once the chicken's done, all we gotta do is plate.
That's how you make a chicken salad.
Here's Iris' little plate.
Go on with a little bit of that butter.
Throw down some lettuce.
Throw down some carrots.
And we'll throw down some bacon.
Bon appetit, Iris.
Chicken salad.
Josie's making her plate.
Now I make mine.
Throw in some lettuce.
A lot of lettuce.
All the lettuce.
Boom.
Little bit of carrots.
All the carrots.
Toss my salad.
I like to go down with a little bit of Italian dressing.
Not too much.
All of it.
No, I'm just kidding.
Go ahead and dump on some croutons.
I'm gonna go ahead and put on my chicken.
Just like so.
We'll go ahead and sprinkle on just a little bit of that.
And then we'll just go a little bit of bacon.
And just a handful of Parmesan cheese.
Now we dig in, dude.
Oh, this looks so good.
All right, let's see how I did.
Try it out.
Mm, 10 out of 10.
Is that good, Iris?
Yeah.
