Alfey Bromult (1913–1991)

Bromult Alfey Yanovich (1913–1991) was a painter. He acquired his first professional education at the People’s University. From 1938, he studied at the studio of J. R. Tillberg, and in 1940–1944 — at the Latvian Academy of Arts. Bromūlts served in the Latvian Army (1935–36), worked as a photo retoucher (1936–40), participated in the battle of legionnaires in Kurzeme (1944–45), worked in agriculture in a filtration camp (1945–48), and was an artist in the portrait workshop of the Māksla plant (1948–52). He participated in exhibitions starting in 1943. Member of the Union of Artists of the Latvian SSR (1957).
