Summer rains, wild mushrooms, and the simple joy of the mountains.【滇西小哥】

After all these years of filming wild mushrooms, they still feel fresh and exciting to me. Every year, I wait for the rainy season like a child, looking forward to the moment when the forests are soaked by summer rain and all kinds of wild mushrooms quietly push through the pine needles and decaying wood, growing freely across the mountains.
This year, the mushrooms in the mountains were not especially abundant. We went from one hillside to another, slowly gathering what we could, until we finally had enough to make a whole table of fresh flavors from the wild.
Wild mushrooms seem to have a spirit of their own. I spent a little extra time creating a natural woodland setting for them, which made this mushroom feast feel even more special.
Year after year, we head into the mountains to search for mushrooms, bring them home, cook them, and enjoy their fleeting freshness. These repeated routines are also our simplest way of showing respect and appreciation for the mountains and forests.
Life does not always bring something new every day, but every mushroom we find still makes the season feel wonderfully fresh.
