Thanks for the support.
Let's get to the video.
Well, we're going to talk about our cheap car situation.
We did do a little update on the second channel, but it's been a while.
We've got a lot of stuff done since then.
We haven't really bought a lot of parts.
We got labor.
A lot of labor.
And with myself and Josh leaving tomorrow, I'm leaving tonight, Josh is leaving tomorrow
for Yellow Bullet.
We're not going to be able to show you guys an update and this thing's leaving for wiring.
Don't.
Oh, they're about to jump on us for the wiring budget, but we're going to add it to the budget.
This is episode four of Josh was not good with budgeting cheap car stuff.
So I want to show you, we're at $14,675 right now.
It wasn't until about $14,000 that Josh told me we were in trouble.
He said, you're right, we're in trouble and the budget's in bad shape.
No matter what, we're going to be 100% real about the budget.
We're going to go over, but what I want to do is show exactly what we spend in materials
and the labor that I will add is stuff that we can't do, which is wiring.
I cannot wire, so I will add that to the budget.
The other stuff that's not been added to the budget, I know there's been more people working
on the car, but it's stuff we could have done myself or Josh, fab stuff.
So we have had other people working on it, but it's stuff that I am capable of doing.
Wiring is not.
We're going to add that to the budget.
So we have Pedro at Pete's Customs, who's right down the road from us.
We actually met him at Cletus' Expo and he wants to wire the car.
So he's going to wire the car.
So we are going to have to add that to the budget, which unfortunately is going to not
be ideal, but that's okay.
We're going to do it.
Josh put cooked here.
That is about when we were cooked.
Yeah, that's cooked.
Wiring?
Well, where's the blue marker at?
Well, you got the thing backwards.
Well, I know, but...
There's not a blue one over there.
Oh, there's a red one.
That's not good.
I mean, we can do red for over budget.
We're over budget.
That's a good thing.
We start right now.
Yeah, we start right now.
Pedro's charging us...
$1,250.
$1,250 to wire.
Which is a really good deal.
Which is a really good price.
It's a really good deal.
And he's going to knock it out in, he said, about a week or a week and a half.
So we're leaving now.
Now, Pedro's picking the car up on Friday.
So that means when we get back, it won't be a long time.
And we should have some Ford horsepower.
We should have some Ford horsepower.
I'm excited about that.
So right now, this right here with the wiring, we are going to have to add some stuff still.
But this with the wiring already puts us over about $1,000.
I would assume we'll probably have another $1,000 to go.
We've got to order a driveshaft.
We do.
We've got the rear end centered up in it now so we can measure for that here in a few minutes.
I've got to finish running the return line back to the fuel cell.
And then, like you said, the octopus lines to the carburetor.
$6,700 for fittings and hoses.
To plumb up the...
No, I'm just kidding.
Oh, we don't have that on here, do we?
No, we don't.
Do we know how much that is?
A-line fittings.
Yeah, A-line fittings.
I want to buy them at $275.
Which really isn't that bad because with a carburetor, there's really not a whole lot
of crazy fuel fittings with this.
I mean, there is quite a few that we picked out of some of the previous builds, but we're
going to put them all in here.
Trying to be full transparent with everything.
Not trying to hide...
Oh, I got something.
That's a little...
Cool.
Wait.
Seats were...
In Cletus's deal, seats didn't go against the budget.
Or fuel cell.
Or belts.
Okay.
We're using our seat mounts that we have here.
Because we sell a Fox Body bolt-in seat mount, and it actually works with that car.
So we're using that.
Do we need to put that on a budget, or is that seats?
Well, let us know what you guys think.
It's a great area.
If we should add that, we'll add it.
We will.
And we will do another side here that, obviously, we have some other stuff.
So we'll do a complete budget.
We'll do the Cletus rules, and then we'll minus the stuff we sold, and then we'll add
back the stuff that costs money that, if you were building at home, you would have to add.
Tubing for the cage.
Fuel cell.
Seat belts.
Because that is...
Obviously, that would go against anybody's budget if they were actually building this.
So I want to do that budget.
This is the Cletus rules here.
This is minus...
Over here is minus what we sold.
So that would be, if you bought this car, you bought this stuff, you would minus this.
Because if you sold it, you could put it back in the budget.
Right.
And then I'll add the cage and everything else.
So we'll do that also at the end.
Right.
We're just trying to see where we stack up as far as, like, the rules they're using.
And we are going to be able to...
I don't know how James said he built a car for, like, $12,000.
He's a lot better than us.
Well...
Or he's got a better racer or something.
You know...
Like, oh...
Yeah, it was...
$125.
We'll move the decimal a little bit.
I mean, I think he did do pretty good on that 240.
And he leaves a lot of stuff stock.
So we did go with some axles, no axles.
Stuff we didn't have to do.
He left a lot of stock stuff.
He might...
The remainder of his budget is probably going to have to go towards axles.
Yeah.
Three or four sets.
Yeah.
Especially with the motor...
A set after every pass.
Just to make it better.
Yeah.
So...
All right.
Well, let's go out there and show the cheap car.
This is where we're at with the budget, though.
We are...
We are officially over budget.
And that is not surprising with us.
Because we're not great at this.
I actually am pretty surprised we stayed there.
And I think we have ourselves a low 8 second car.
I think...
I think we can be competitive with those guys.
I feel like we can do it.
So we'll see.
Now, the only thing we did a little different on our cheap car than the Cletus crew and most of the other cheap cars...
This is a nice car.
Yeah.
Like, the fab work is...
Yeah.
It's really nice.
Like, Kyle, Taylor, Danny, everyone that's working on it has actually killed the fab work.
So...
Parts and materials...
We're cheap.
We are.
Labor-wise...
If you had to pay for labor...
If you had to pay for labor at a shop...
I'd say we're probably going to be 200 extra hours into that car.
Probably.
So you'd be...
You'd be...
You'd be $30,000.
Yeah.
But this is not...
That's not what it's about.
This is something you could do in your garage.
Would it look as good?
Some of you could potentially do it as good.
And some of you could do it to where it functions.
And that's what really matters.
Right?
We're trying to have fun.
If you can put it together and it's safe, that's fun.
That's all that matters.
So...
All right.
Let's go check out the cheap car.
They're mounting the seats.
They're working on a steering column.
We'll have to add that.
Well, the steering column is just going to be a piece of tubing, basically.
We may have $200 in the knuckles, the column, the bushings, everything.
Yeah.
So that's what they're doing now.
They're putting the seatbelts in, mounting the seats, and they're going to work on a
steering column today, tomorrow, and then the car will be ready for pickup Friday for
wiring.
I can't wait.
I've never had a Ford.
Really?
Race car.
Ford power race car.
You know...
Never.
A lot of people...
LS?
Big block Chevy?
Small block Chevy?
A Hemi now?
Yeah.
Never a Ford.
I'm excited because that's my last race car was a small block.
Yeah.
Very similar setup.
This one's a little bit better.
Okay.
But, you know, this one's a solid roller, higher compression, stuff like that.
It's going to be nasty on the two-step.
Yes.
Just popping and banging everywhere.
Maybe we'll shoot flames like Brett LaSalle.
Maybe we'll put a stick shift in it.
Ooh.
Afterwards.
Yeah.
All right.
It's a different episode.
Stop.
We're messing up.
Stop.
Let's go look at the car.
Sponsor of today's video is Brunt Workwear.
Brunt Workwear has been with us for a very long time.
In fact, they were the first sponsor ever on this channel.
They have been a huge part of everything we do here.
Most of you know I wear tennis shoes all the time, but when I do need boots, Brunt is the
only boots I will wear.
They are heat, oil, and slip resistant.
Plus, my favorite part about the Brunts is the very first time I put them on, they were
comfortable.
I didn't have to wear them for two or three weeks to break them in, which is a huge plus
for me.
But don't take it from me.
Look at Josh.
He wears his Brunt Work boots every day.
I'm pretty sure Josh sleeps in these Brunt Work boots.
If you go on a job site, I guarantee you're going to see a lot of Brunts, and there's
a reason for it.
Plus, if you don't like your Brunts, you can send them back.
And the reason they do that, I'm guessing, is because they know as soon as you put them
on your feet to assist, you're not going to send them back.
I will say, I've done no right work before I came here full time.
Walking on grating, asphalt, rocks, concrete all day.
Zero issues.
Plus, Brunt is way more than boots.
Brunt Workwear has shirts, long sleeves, short sleeves, beanies, pants, socks, all kinds
of stuff.
So Brunt is a lot more than just work boots.
You guys have seen me wear my Brunt Work boots all throughout the construction of my house,
even the construction of my shop, especially when we did the spray foam there.
Also, I have worn them around the shop, but mostly for outside projects that require more
than just a tennis shoe, and some of those questionable cheap cars required some work
boots because they were pretty rough.
I love my Brunts, and I think you will too.
So go to bruntworkwear.com slash cjrace10 and get $10 off your first order of over $60.
That's cjrace10 to save $10 on your order of over $60.
Thanks, Brunt, for sponsoring today's video.
What have you got going on over here, Kyle?
Well, I guess we're putting the fittings in for the radiator on the cheap car.
It's not really so cheap anymore.
I'm going to be honest.
It looks too nice for a cheap car.
Yeah, I think you're right.
It looks too nice for a cheap car.
I think you said this is an Amazon radiator, so I mean...
That's true.
You know, and I think this might be an Amazon fitting, so we got that one down too.
And you handmade these.
I did.
So that's labor.
That's only a 50-cent piece, maybe a dollar.
Probably, yeah.
So that's cheap.
That's like $120 total on this thing.
Yeah, $120, yeah.
I mean, it is what it is.
Amazon, $100 radiator, right?
I think pretty much.
That's not bad.
We got the downpipe over there.
You welded an O2 in there?
Yeah, I put an O2 in it.
Just putting up a pump on it right now.
So, I mean, this is some spare leftover tubing that we had laying around, right?
So, I mean, that's cheap.
I mean, it's not terrible.
It's not terrible.
We're actually not that bad.
We just went over the budget.
We're going to be about...
I'd say we're going to be $2,000 over, which...
Okay, that's not bad.
It's not terrible.
It could be worse.
To build a car like that with $17,000 is not terrible.
No.
Bunch of labor, but $17,000 of parts.
I mean, these welds look way better than the factory weld.
That's for sure.
Yeah, that's the factory weld there.
And then you got that.
And that does look pretty good.
That does look pretty good.
It's better than I can do, bro, I promise you.
I mean, it's some cheap...
Well, that's true.
This is definitely some cheap material.
It's only that much.
Yeah.
Well, it's okay.
Yeah.
That's what we had to have, though.
Cheap.
Cheap, that's it.
Can't go over budget.
All right, we also got a lot done.
And when I say we, I mean Kyle has gotten a lot done already.
He's got...
This is totally done.
We've notched the hood, and we got a cheap bezel.
Look at that.
Hey, we went cheap bezel.
That was made out of cardboard and then cut from 040 aluminum.
So, no money spent on the bezels.
We even riveted it.
Usually, we nut and bolt that, but nuts and bolts were too expensive.
So, we riveted it to the...
Yeah.
Just to keep the spirit of the Bulldozer alive.
Yeah.
We got our VS Racing glove out here.
Cheap.
That's off El Cheapo.
That's cheap.
And it's off El Cheapo.
Yeah.
Cheap used.
Yeah.
Recycled.
That's double used because we got it used.
There.
Kyle added that this morning.
He mounted the entire front end.
So, the front end's all done.
We used the factory mounts.
Whoa, bro.
You're going to bend it.
If we have to do it twice because it bent, does it go on a budget price?
I hope not.
Man, me too.
Kyle reused the stock mounts.
What's nice about that is everything's still adjustable.
Yes.
We can still align everything so it's not all goofed up up here.
It's not fixed.
You got something cattywampus, but...
And it's lightweight.
Yes.
The goal with this, we knew we're going to be limited to horsepower because of the budget.
Right.
But we've made this car really light.
And I think by our numbers so far, I think we're going to be under...
I would say we're going to be close to Ty's, under Ty.
I'd say the only one that's going to be lighter than us out of those guys over there is going
to be James.
Yeah.
And probably not by a lot.
We've gutted this thing quite a bit.
Yes.
So...
We could have went further, but it's like, eh...
We still might have to.
If we're slow, we might just have to get the torch out and start cutting stuff.
Yeah.
We'll put some...
What do they do with Honda?
Speed holes or something?
Yeah.
Just three-inch...
Yeah.
Hole saw?
Hole saw.
Just get after it.
Just Honda-mount it.
Front end's mounted, a half-inch.
DOM.
For a mile, it was too expensive.
We used DOM there.
Turbo's mounted.
Everything is done up here.
The only thing we have to do is pull it apart, paint it, and put the correct bell housing
in because we didn't have the correct bell housing in the car.
But that's it for out here.
You can see what we're talking about.
Josh's line.
Look at this.
Yeah.
You need 700 fittings and 1,000 feet of AN line, and somehow Josh tells me that's only
$200?
Yeah.
Dude, the Amazon stuff's cheap, bud.
Amazon prices.
Let me rephrase that.
Amazon prices.
We're allowed to go off the Amazon prices.
That says Red Horse.
Well, yeah.
It's Red Horse, but we got Amazon prices.
Okay.
We're allowed to do Amazon prices.
We can have...
Yeah, cleat rules, bud.
Oh, okay.
Cleat rules.
I didn't see those.
Yeah.
I mean, I could have dug into that little cabinet over there and got the Brown and Miller
stuff.
Brown and Miller.
That would smoke the whole budget.
Long lines.
Yeah.
All right.
Well, we got that.
Headers, exhaust.
Everything up here is totally done.
Like we said, we're getting ready to go to wiring in a few minutes.
Yep.
The inside of the car is coming along.
Yep.
Josh got the big meat Larry Hoovers back here.
Look at those.
I know.
Slicks.
28105s.
Have you ever had anything that's billiger than slicks?
Little slicks.
Yeah, not small.
Either big slicks or little radial.
So this is new.
Josh is going to be driving this.
I think.
I will drive this too.
Josh is going to be driving this in a little gangster, maybe a Troy's race coming up.
Dude, I'm excited.
And I'm not going to talk too soon, but there's a potential I may have something to drive
there also.
Something that is near and dear to my heart.
We'll just leave it at that.
He's been...
If there's anybody watching this, comment below what you think it is.
He's been talking about this all day and he won't even tell me.
I'm so excited, Josh.
I know.
I can't even explain it to you.
If I get it back, I'm going to tear up.
Are you?
Get it back.
I see I already messed it up.
You screwed up.
Right, that's enough.
Yeah, you can't.
That's enough of that.
You screwed up.
Taylor's map of seats, you can see those are our Fox body seat brackets that we have and
we sell here, and they work.
So instead of making something we didn't need to make, it worked perfect.
And we'll just need to make a brace in the back of the seat, do our seat belt tabs, and
then the inside's done.
Other than painting the cake, which we need to paint.
If not, this isn't going to start turning into a rust bucket.
There's paint in the budget, though.
Well, paint's already out of the budget.
Paint's already out of the budget?
Yeah.
Oh, you already did paint?
No.
There's paint on the board in there?
No.
What are you saying?
It's out of the budget.
I mean, we're already over.
We can't be using senseless paint.
That's true.
All right, we mounted our mount.
We have a laser cut.
Unbelievable, Josh.
We have a laser cut mount up there for our Terminator, so that's mounted, which obviously
needs to be done.
Yes.
We're not doing a dash or anything, right?
No.
That's definitely out of budget.
The steering column's about to go in.
The pedals are in.
All that stuff in the master cylinder's converted, correct?
Yes, we just got to run the lines.
We need some lines, which will have to be mild steel.
Yeah.
Autozone lines.
We can't be putting Danny's stainless line right there.
No.
That'll be way over.
Yeah.
Rear end's totally together, all painted, ready to rock and roll back here.
Rod ends and everything.
Fuel cell is in.
We bought that and mounted that.
Fuel pump, we rebuilt and put it in there.
Yeah.
Hopefully it works good.
I hope so.
Battery mount's over here.
Kyle's mounting that now.
Then our fuel tank that Kyle mounted is right here.
We're really close.
We are.
We're really close.
I think we're going to get this thing done and have it out in just a few weeks.
That's my goal.
Yeah.
If we get this thing done, we got another idea we're going to do with a cheap car.
It's only going to take a week, though, if we can do it.
It's going to be a rough week.
It's going to be a rough week, but I'm excited about it.
Yeah, me too.
It's going to be fun.
This has been a really cool car, and everybody's been working on it.
If this was evil or something, I'd be sick to my stomach if stuff was doing this, you know?
But we're not going to worry about it.
Nah.
It's a cheap car.
Not as much.
No.
Cheap car.
It's like when I tell Kyle's super meticulous on things, and he wants everything to be perfect,
but I'm like, listen, bud.
It's a cheap car.
It's hard for a fabricator like that, or Danny, or myself, or Taylor to get out of that boat,
though.
That's ingrained into a person that's like that.
You can't tell Danny, hey, just do that brake line.
I remember working on the Spark for Cletus, and the last thing we had to do was the brake
line up front.
And it was like 5 o'clock in the morning.
They were paying up at 9.
We're here 20-something hours straight, 26 hours.
Danny spent the five hours on the brake line, but it was right.
It didn't matter if it was 4 a.m., 5 a.m., 7 a.m.
It was right.
He did the brake line right.
He did.
And that's really what we're proud of so far, you know?
This is cheap, but we still want it to be nice.
Oh, yeah.
Because that's just how we build stuff.
Exactly.
But Cheap Car is coming along.
We wanted to give you guys an update.
It's been a really long time since we've shown the car.
We have been chipping away at it slowly, and we are trying to get projects knocked out.
The dream car is actually Pmar's.
And the reason it's at Pmar's is because the hood that he had had a scoop.
Well, the scoop is for like a nitrous or carburetor engine.
It's got a turbo now.
So we had to buy a cowl hood from U.S. Body, who's local.
Not even a cowl.
They said it was a cowl.
Yeah.
It's not a whole hood.
So Pmar is going to put the old hood on the front end and make it one piece.
He's going to cut the scoop off and put the cowl on, and we've got to notch it for the engine.
And then it's going to paint and body directly after that, and it shouldn't be there too long.
And then all we have to do is put it back together.
So the dream build is coming along good.
It's at Pmar's.
Yeah, I don't know.
We're getting stuff knocked out.
We are.
And it feels good.
We've got something to race again.
We've got cars coming together that we can race again.
I may be getting a car back that I can race again.
Call orders get closer.
We moved it over to the other side to finish the sheet metal on it.
Things are making progress.
And I'm very thankful for all the support, because without you guys, we couldn't do any of this stuff.
Just be working all day on stuff we didn't want to work on, probably.
You know what I mean?
This is awesome.
This is literally a dream come true, being able to make videos and share it with all of you.
And you guys support and watch the videos enough for us to continue doing it.
Josh loves being behind the camera, in front of the camera, dancing.
Whatever else he's going to do.
And he's going to get to race this unit.
I'm excited.
He's going to get to race this unit.
I can see him with his chin hanging out the bottom of the helmet.
I've got to do something.
I need to find a custom-made helmet for my big old head.
My elongated head I've got going on.
But it'll be fun, though.
I'm excited, for sure.
It's been a long time.
I had a few people ask, won't you drive one of the faster cars?
I ain't got no business driving one of them cars.
Me neither.
Unless I drive enough, I don't have no business driving it.
You've got to drive a lot to drive something like that.
You've got to have a lot of laps.
But anyways, that's it with the cheap car.
We've got some serious stuff to do with Eagle.
And you're about to see that in just a minute.
Well, not the news I wanted to get on here and say.
But we have some damage to Eagle that we did not know we had.
Troy texted me late last night, along with sending me a video that I'll show you in just a second.
And he found some damage.
He was doing some stuff with the stator and the converter.
And just nut and bolting the car before we head up to Yellow Bullet, Maryland.
It's now Monday morning.
And we need to leave tonight at 8pm.
So, that being said, we're about to head over to Troy's first thing Monday.
We've got to get this car fixed today so we can leave if we're going to make it to Yellow Bullet.
Here's the video Troy sent me.
Okay, this is the door.
This is the passenger side.
I'm going to check the driver's side as well.
This is the bottom.
You see the two halves are coming apart.
This crack here.
The whole bottom.
And then up here going towards the hinge.
This is splitting here.
It's all split all the way back to the halfway part of the door right here.
So, as you can see, we knew the exhaust was causing a problem.
We knew it may hit the door.
It's a fine balance between moving the exhaust out too far and it looking absolutely terrible.
Or moving it in too far where it starts to cause issues.
We knew it kept blowing the door open.
There was some issue with the door whether it was harmonics or not.
And if you watched our first testing video, we made a guard for the exhaust.
And it blew that 050 titanium straight out.
There's so much pressure coming out of those tubes that it obviously caused the door to completely separate.
These are really extremely lightweight carbon fiber doors.
And that harmonics they just can't handle.
So, after eight passes or so, they're blown apart.
Now, when we get to Troy's, we have to make a tough decision.
Because whatever we start doing, we have to finish.
By tonight.
We can take these doors to PMAR.
Have him fix the doors.
I'm pretty sure he can get them repaired today.
In time for a sleeper yellow bullet.
But, if it keeps doing it, that repair won't hold up forever, right?
So, we really need to address the actual problem.
Which is the header being too far in.
By just a little bit.
I know it seems crazy, but if we move that header out.
I believe 3-8-7 inch.
I talked to RK.
He's had the same issues.
He said 2-3-4.
We're at about 2-3-8 from the door.
So, if we can move the header out 3-8-7 inch.
That'll save us from probably having this issue again.
But, if we cut the headers apart.
And we don't get them back together today.
That's going to keep us from going.
So, we're going to head over to Troy's.
We're going to take a better look at this thing.
And see what we want to do.
I think, personally, we need to cut the headers.
We need to move them out.
We need to fix the doors.
We need to do it right.
Even though we don't have much time.
I think if we can work really hard.
We can get it knocked out today.
And still have the yellow bullet.
Alright, well we're at Troy's.
And like we said.
Not what we had hoped for, right?
Less than ideal.
Routine maintenance led to a fight.
But, at least you found it.
Yep.
It's Monday at 9-20.
We're leaving tonight.
Yeah.
We've got 12 hours.
At the most.
We've got some things we have to handle today.
If you didn't find this.
And we make a few more passes.
The outside skin of this door might be on the racetrack.
Yeah, it wouldn't have been good.
Honestly, the other night we had issues with the driver's door.
And I texted Cameron on Saturday.
And like, hey.
We had a little bit of the paint starting to crack.
Right here in the door.
On the driver's side.
Yeah, that's pretty minimal.
This side's not bad.
The outside's fine.
But I had it over on the stand.
So I walked over to look at it.
And I like.
Got down and was looking a little bit.
And the whole bottom of the door.
Literally is coming on.
Unbonded.
And cracking.
And so.
What that means is.
Once it comes apart.
You know.
And the air gets in there.
It will literally blow the door off the car.
So.
Yeah.
We're not looking good right now.
No, we can't have that.
I called PMR yesterday.
As soon as I talked to you.
And he's willing to help us out.
He's going to.
As soon as we get there.
He's going to start.
We've got about an hour.
15 minute drive.
Yeah.
We're going to take those over.
A decent amount of work for him to do.
But I think he'll get it done.
Yeah.
And I was just telling them that.
The biggest problem isn't the header.
If we fix this.
And we don't move the header out some.
This may happen again.
Yeah.
So we're thinking that the header.
Like typically on these cars.
They try to shoot for two and three quarter.
Right?
Yeah.
Two and three quarter.
Yeah.
We're about two and three here.
And we're like two and three eighths.
Which I know to you guys.
It's not much.
But if you followed the other video.
And seen that the guards that we had on here.
Which we've taken off.
We had to revisit those.
Because we had a tab on the inside here.
That was holding the end from flapping.
And it literally got behind it.
And blew the tab up.
With the pressure from the exhaust.
So it definitely makes a difference.
So today's agenda.
Get the doors repaired.
First and foremost.
And then cut the headers.
And maybe move those out just a little bit.
I don't know.
It's crazy.
I mean we're.
Yeah.
We're less than a dozen passes in.
And we're blowing the car apart.
I know.
It's going to happen.
It's part of racing.
I'm not upset about it at all.
The only thing is.
We want to get fixed.
Yeah.
Absolutely.
We don't want to miss the race.
Because of this issue.
Well the thing is.
So the doors.
Right?
The engine.
We have all the parts.
We can fix the engine.
If these blow apart.
I don't know what we can do.
Duct tape.
Yeah.
Well I had already told you before.
We have to bring the tall order doors for spares.
Yeah.
Duct tape.
Yeah.
And tall order doors.
Yeah.
Probably a sheet of lexan is good.
Based off of prior race.
Yeah.
Lexan.
Screws.
And so some people were like.
Hasn't this car had an issue with the windows before?
Everything.
But like.
That was a driver's door.
Yeah.
Which is crazy.
Because that's the door we had the issues with the other night.
Testing and everything.
And actually the passenger door now.
Is the one that's like.
Broken.
Which I have no idea how.
That's not the side that had an issue.
When Garrett had the car.
That's not the side that had the issue.
The other night.
We're testing.
So I don't even know how this side broke.
Yeah.
It's very crazy.
It's hard to explain.
Unless you're standing in front of this header.
While it's running.
How much force.
Because that.
If you walk by this one.
Trying to blow your hat off.
Yeah.
Just hit.
Whatever it idled at.
Right.
So now.
Nine thousand.
RPMs.
It's got a.
A cone.
Probably.
Coming out of it like that.
And it's just.
Beating that door to death.
The same problem.
They have with Victor's car.
Yeah.
Stevie's car.
Had the same problem.
When they first built it.
They're just very hard.
And the worst part about a 6.9 Camaro is.
A new Camaro.
The sides are flat.
So if you go two and a quarter out.
The header's going this way.
The side of the car is this way.
But this car.
You're fighting it the whole way up.
Yeah.
So this is a lot worse.
Than a lot of body styles.
You come to Yellow Book.
Come see us.
Come say hi.
We'll be there with the car.
When we warm this thing up.
If you stand here.
In front of these blow off valves.
Oh yeah.
You will see the air.
Comes out of here.
Just at idle.
Yeah.
So imagine.
Down the racetrack.
9,000 RPM.
60 plus pounds of boost.
All coming out of those pipes.
And these pipes.
Really are.
A little bit small.
So.
It makes a ton.
Of whiff.
Coming out of them.
Yeah.
Well you can tell at night.
On the start line.
Just the exhaust.
Like a fumes.
Or like.
Yeah.
Puffing it.
Every time it puffs.
It's.
Not attempting to get in the air.
Yeah.
Just at idle.
It's really crazy.
So.
Alright.
What we're going to do.
Is get the doors off.
We'll show you guys the damage.
One more time.
I showed them the video already.
And.
We're going to get them to PMAR ASAP.
Because that's number one.
He's going to have to bond them back together.
Let it dry.
He's going to have to put carbon between the two pieces.
On the inside.
We probably will do the driver side.
Even though it's not damaged.
Yeah.
We'll carbon between the inner and outer.
Also.
Just to make sure that doesn't happen.
If it's already starting to happen.
And then we got to cut the headers apart.
Which I was thinking about that.
The problem we're going to have.
This one's not going to be bad.
Because what we did before.
On Stevie's cars.
We cut these here.
We put a two and three quarters sleeve over it.
Yep.
And then.
Or a two and five eighths sleeve.
I'm sorry.
And then weld it back together.
We just stick it out.
Weld it back together.
The other side has a snipper tube.
You know.
Two.
So we'll have to get some tubing for that.
And as long as all of them are straight-ish.
We can do it.
It's when they start getting.
Where there's a bunch of bends.
This side's pretty straight.
So we can cut.
Cut.
We'll be able to pull it out three eighths.
No problem.
So.
The other side's going to be a little tougher.
Just get on the CNC.
Make an extension plate.
With a plan.
Get in.
A one inch thick build aluminum extension plate.
Extension plate.
We'll just get it.
We'll just.
You do a quarter.
Half.
We'll just keep doing it.
So it don't hurt the doors no more.
Well we got the headers.
Ninety percent of the way unbolted.
EGT is unplugged.
And realized.
That we have no two and five eighths tubing at my shop.
Well I mean.
The guys really love these.
In the comments.
So.
We're going to figure out how to make these work.
Yeah.
This one did not get affected.
This one.
That's what the exhaust did.
That's 050 titanium.
Blew that thing flat.
First pass.
It's crazy.
I gotta.
See if I can get the duckbill pliers out.
Straighten it back out.
Yeah.
This is our only option at this point.
Yeah.
I mean.
These things should.
Work pretty good.
You know what we can do too.
Is we can take and mark this here.
Maybe.
Yeah.
Break it over.
It's not a bad idea.
You know.
So we got a little.
To deflect it.
Even more.
Yeah.
Off the door.
It's just going to put that much more.
Pressure on it.
This way though.
I mean.
It is what it is.
I don't care.
As long as we get a doors repair.
We're making this race.
Even if these don't work.
Yeah.
We're doing what we gotta do.
Yeah.
Whatever we gotta do.
These were cool.
They were a nice addition.
No.
They look good.
It just didn't work that great.
I'm going to have to like.
Squeeze my way into the car.
It's about a little inch less of door opening.
With these on there.
Yeah.
They're pretty tight for sure.
All right.
Well.
We'll make it work.
That's it.
All loaded up.
Got the doors in here.
Troy's working on the headers.
Hopefully.
Pmar will get this stuff knocked out for us.
Yep.
We're here.
We're going.
All right.
This is the driver's door.
Yeah.
This one doesn't have.
Really any issues yet.
But.
Here's what I'd like to do with this one.
Yeah.
You want to reinforce it on the inside.
So the issue doesn't come.
Right.
Also.
I think this one.
See this.
Okay.
We got that.
We don't want to have an issue there.
That one I think is still okay.
You can just put a rivet in it.
Put a rivet in it.
Yeah.
Through the outside of the door.
Look great.
I think.
I think between Cletus and myself.
We got about $200,000 in pain in this car.
So I'd rather not.
I'd rather not put a rivet through the outside.
But if you say that's all we can do.
Then I'll do it.
All right.
This is the bad one.
So what we got going on is.
Oh damn.
This is completely split apart.
Right.
Yeah.
And then this.
Split as well.
Yeah.
So basically this is all split here.
Yeah.
There's barely any bonding.
So you have to panel bond it first.
And then.
And then reinforce it.
This is pretty.
Probably not going to do any repairs to the outside.
Because then.
That's fine.
It's going to look like.
You know.
It's not going to look right.
Well and really to do the outside.
Wouldn't you have to let the inside dry.
Correct.
And then do the outside.
Yeah.
And the way our schedule works.
We're lucky to have time to do the inside.
At least they're flat black on the inside.
I know.
Yeah.
The outside really didn't do nothing to.
So you could.
No.
The outside looks.
That's why we didn't catch it.
You could.
You could do this with a spray can yourself at home.
I'm going to have to.
I'll do it in a trailer on the way to Yellow Bullet.
Did this one come loose?
Yep.
Did that one come loose?
No.
That one's good.
So just the driver's side there.
That's crazy.
Isn't it?
Yeah.
A lot of down force.
A lot of vibrations.
All right.
So we'll get this fixed.
That won't be too bad either.
Right?
I mean, like you said, you're just going to fix the inside.
Yeah.
Fix the inside.
But I'm just going to split it as much as possible.
Get some panel bond in there.
As much as possible.
I'm glad he caught it.
Because this door here, probably one or two more full passes, we'd have seen that outer
skin off on a track.
Oh, definitely.
Yeah.
It wouldn't have lasted much longer.
No, no, no.
And we'd have had a much bigger issue on our hands.
100%.
So glad we caught it.
I really appreciate you guys getting us in here.
You always do help us out.
You guys need any fiberglass stuff.
PMAR fiberglass for your guys.
And we got some last minute repairs.
Here we go.
If you could come tonight, I'd be like, you might not have to leave Wednesday to yellow
blue.
So the thing is, if they're not done tonight, we're duct taping them.
The thing about this schedule is it's not flexible anymore.
Yeah.
Maryland's only like 15 hours away.
Yeah.
We'll be fine.
All right.
Well, it's 6 p.m. about.
PMAR's got the doors finished.
So we still got time.
We're trying to leave at 8.
That was quick.
A really quick repair.
Let's see what we got.
Oh, yeah.
That's going to help a lot.
This is the passenger side.
So this is the door that was bad, right?
The worst door.
Where's the part where it was cracked?
Back here?
No, up there.
Up here?
I made it right here.
Oh, you can't even see it anymore.
It's like brand new.
Panel bonded all this back together.
Okay.
On the bottom, we'll put panel bonded before the leak patch.
It looks great.
I can't even see where it was cracked before.
Wasn't it cracked back here, too?
Yeah.
Or no?
No?
Wasn't there a crack?
No, in the middle.
Oh, in the middle.
Okay.
I thought it was cracking in the back, too.
No, in the front.
Oh, in the front, it was cracked.
Yeah, yeah.
Right here.
We can fix it.
Inside and outside.
That place, it'll be dirt.
Oh, yeah.
You can't even tell, though.
Perfect.
I think we're going to be good now.
I don't think it would have lasted, that race.
If we wouldn't have fixed it, it would have come apart, I think.
Yeah.
When we get these things back to the shop, put them on and load them in a trailer and
head to the race, hopefully.
Awesome.
Well, thank you very much for getting us in.
I know every time we call you, we're in a rush.
You always help us out, and I greatly appreciate it because without this, we would have been
watching this week instead of racing.
All right, just put that on there.
Let's make sure it fits right.
Did it?
Did it fit good up there on the hinges?
Yeah.
Did Mar got us right?
He did.
And quick, too.
Did he send any tacos?
No tacos.
Man, he is a great guy.
He's a great cook, though.
Holy moly.
Does it look like it all fits?
Yeah.
Yeah, man.
Looks good.
I got your little flappers on here.
Oh, yeah.
I double-nutted them.
Yeah.
Last time you guys saw, this thing blew straight backwards.
First pass.
We got that drilled.
We got double-nutted on there because if you do like a nyloc, it'll just melt it.
So we did the double-nut, locked tight for now.
Yeah.
We're ready.
I guess we might as well talk about the elephant in the room right here.
Well, I mean, honestly, everybody was against the decals, but they don't look that bad.
I think the decal looks killer.
We're actually...
We already did a video.
We'll post it later this week.
It'll be on a second channel, Cameron Johnson Fab Channel.
We're going to introduce Troy, Tyler, Bradley, all the guys that work on a car, and all the
sponsors that came on board to help us with a car.
So we'll have that out later.
But obviously, LockerdSecurity.com.
Lockerd is the main sponsor.
Big car guy.
And he's supporting us with this deal.
Personal information is very important.
So if you want to get cybersecurity...
I mean, I guess at this point, do you want to just show them all the decals?
I guess we can.
We're here, right?
We're here.
All right.
Let me show this one first, because this one...
So this one's Harlow & Co., right?
This is my wife's company.
She makes kids' backpacks, bibs, blankets, all kinds of stuff, bamboo stuff.
Really good quality.
And if you go to our website, her stuff is on the website and gets entered in the giveaway.
So you can buy her stuff and still get entered in the giveaway.
That's number one.
And I had to put that one in there first.
Yeah.
Happy life.
That's a fact.
Yes.
So the boys at Z7 Graphics got us hooked up.
They got this stuff taken care of for us.
And we didn't even tell them what we wanted.
We said we wanted to match the car.
Yeah.
And this is what they came up with.
So it looks killer.
Like I love it.
It matches the car perfect.
We got the tattered American flag going on in the background, the decals.
I love that.
And come back here to the back, we've got matching decals for all the sponsors.
And we were able to put most of them on the back window.
Yep.
We've got you hidden back here.
We got me.
Yeah.
We got you hidden back here.
CJRC.
Look at that.
I love the...
Man, he really killed it.
He knocked it.
It doesn't look like a big obnoxious...
Like they're on there, but it's not.
It's not obnoxious.
So we did the locker on the door.
That originally, that decal, we had intended to put it on the quarter panel.
Yep.
We put it on the door.
So I took and I cut it and we did it that way with the main logo up top and the URL on
the bottom.
It looked really good.
So then Cameron said we were going to put it on the quarters, but man, like you guys
obviously know, we would rather run the car with no decals, but you know, we got a bunch
of people that we're partnered with, so we have to.
So we tried to come up with the cleanest way of doing this.
I think it came out awesome.
Yeah, I do too.
And I really like, honestly, I think that this looks really good on the back wing.
I am also going to have them print this same decal for Cameron.
And we're going to do those here on the quarter windows as well, which gets a lot of, you
see at the track and everything are here from behind the car or from directly in front of
the car.
So we have Harlow Co. on the front.
We'll have it on the CGRC on the side and the CGRC on the wing.
On the deck.
It looks good.
You know, I mean, everybody knows it's your car.
Yeah.
I think so.
Yeah.
I think that that's, uh, you know, I, you know what I do with my stuff?
I don't even put my own decals.
I don't even put my decal in the car yet because I couldn't find somewhere.
Well, we got your decal on there somewhere, don't we?
No, I haven't put it on there yet.
What?
Because everything flows so good.
I can't find somewhere where I like it.
We got Tremart on the sides of the wings.
Tremart's on the side of the wing.
That's Jim Sears at Tremart.
Yep.
Tampa Bay in Florida.
So if you need any custom trees, look them up.
Got all of our stuff up here.
Spray Pro.
Hurricane Motorsports.
John Dock Recovery.
We've got the, uh, A&R Development Group.
FlowSafe.
Avco.
Electric.
Wright Trailers.
Dirty Innovations.
Dunn-Wright Installation.
Eubanks Enterprises.
Fifty.
That's all of them here on the back window.
Yep.
Diamond Pistons is back here in the middle.
Diamond Pistons.
We're gonna need, we're gonna need a lot of them.
Lots of Diamond Pistons.
I put another rack together today.
I had a little extra time while we were waiting on the doors to get done.
Okay, good.
So I snapped some rods and pistons together, got them all wrapped up.
We, we have, uh, that rack there.
We've got Proline Racing bringing us another one.
So, we've got some stuff.
We're ready.
Oh, what about the custom jacks?
Oh.
Did you see the video I sent you today?
Yeah, yeah, I'll put that in here right now.
Yeah.
We got some custom race jacks from 1320.
They kill it.
Yeah.
So, I had these jacks are mine.
They don't fit the car perfectly.
So, the new ones have rollers in the front.
They go on the chassis.
So, it has rollers and they're paint matched to the car.
They're actually the same color as the car.
So, they're awesome.
Uh, Jason at 1320 knocked those out for us.
You guys might have seen in one of the other videos last year, uh, World Cup when Garrett
had the window blow out.
Cameron went to Jason at 1320's shop and used their shop to fix the window.
Yeah.
So, Jason Abbey and those guys are awesome.
He was, uh, got those jacks done for us in a minute.
Yeah.
Let us know in the comments what you think.
I mean, I know people would rather see without the decals, but these are companies and you're
going to see when we do the little podcast thing that we did introducing the companies.
It's a really small world and these people are connected to us very closely and a lot
of them for a long time.
They're all car guys.
It's, it's really awesome that we can work with these brands.
I hope that you guys at home know that we try our best to make everybody happy, but
obviously everybody has their own opinions, their likes, what they like, what they don't
like, their wants, needs when we try to just do what's best to bring you guys the best
content with the Eagle here.
And we're really excited to go to Yellow Bull Nationals this weekend in Cecil County, Dragway,
Rising Sun, Maryland, uh, follow along CJRC and, uh, the Eagle will be ready.
The Eagle is going to soar this week.
The Eagle will fly.
All right.
Well, that's it.
We're going to get this thing loaded up because we need to get on the road.
All right.
It's time to get caught up on calling some of the people that got the rods of pistons
in our order.
We got four of those to catch up on, see if they want to ride a piston and if they want
me to potentially mess up my signature and then we have the winner of the second bonus
welder to call.
We'll call them at the end.
All right.
Who's the first person we got to call for a rod or piston?
Thursday.
That is David M.
David M.
It's good to give David M a call.
All right.
Now, Josh, we had really good luck last time with people answering.
Wow.
Those are really...
Hi.
You can record your name and reason for calling.
You spoke to David M.
I'll see if this person is available.
Hey, David.
This is Cameron Johnson at CJ Race Cars.
We picked your order to throw a rod or a piston in and we're just trying to see which one
you wanted.
Please stay on the line.
I don't want to do that.
Is that like an app or something?
Probably a subscription.
They'll pay like five bucks a month or...
I can't do it.
My phone was already cooked.
Is this David?
Dave, this is Cameron Johnson at CJ Race Cars.
How are you?
I'm doing great.
We picked your order.
We picked your order for a rod or piston.
We're seeing which one you wanted.
We're throwing a rod and a piston from Eagle in one random order every day and your order
got picked for the 27th.
Would you rather have a rod or a piston?
A piston.
Okay.
Do you want me to sign it or leave my signature off of it?
Please.
Okay.
All right.
Well, we'll get this thing signed and head your way and I appreciate the support.
Good luck in the giveaway.
All right, buddy.
Thank you so very much.
Thank you.
All right.
Bye.
All right.
Piston.
Let me see that.
I think we're almost even now.
We're four and four.
Yeah, we are.
That's pretty good.
Yeah.
Let me polish this up.
I don't know.
What would you pick if you got the call?
If I called you and said, Josh, you bought enough lottery tickets, you want a rod or
a piston, which one would you get?
Man, I don't know.
You don't know?
I would think I'd have to go for the rod.
I think so, too.
I think the rod's better.
I see a lot of people make little blocks out of them and stuff.
All right.
Now, listen.
I signed a bunch of stuff.
I signed a bunch of stickers over the weekend that I'm throwing in some random orders, too.
Well, there's a difference.
This is not a flat surface.
So this is a struggle bus right here.
So what I got to do is a C, I can do good, right?
And then a J, I can do good.
And then I got to do this.
That's not bad.
That's all right.
All right.
We'll get better by the end.
We got four of them to go.
Yeah.
All right.
The next one is?
The next one is Friday.
And that is Anthony D.
Anthony D.
This is from Friday?
Friday.
Yeah, Friday.
All right.
Friday.
Richmond, Virginia.
Is that close to where we're going?
Is it the other one?
Close.
Maybe just drop it off.
Is this Anthony?
Yes.
Anthony, this is Cameron Johnson from CJRaceCars.
How are you?
We picked your order for a rod or piston.
A rod.
A rod?
Okay.
You want me to sign it or leave it?
Leave it like it is.
All right.
I appreciate it.
Good luck in the rest of the giveaway.
Oh.
That'd be a good one.
Oh, yeah.
That'd be a good one.
That'd be a good one for sure.
Well, we appreciate the support.
Good luck in the giveaway.
Maybe we'll be building the truck soon.
All right.
Thank you, sir.
All right.
Bye.
Two for two, Josh.
Look, man.
Tell him what we caught.
68 F-100.
I love those trucks.
This is what a dream build's all about right here.
It's some cool stuff these people want built.
All right.
You know, it would be cool to build a full-size truck.
Honestly.
All right.
Who do we got next, Josh?
We got Kevin H.
Kevin H.
He's from Saturday?
That's from Saturday.
All right.
So far, we got a rod and a piston.
What do you think he's going for on this one?
Kevin H.
Probably going to go for a rod.
Think he's going to do a rod?
I don't see it.
All right.
Let's see.
He's from Waco, Texas.
Isn't that where they had the Waco?
Isn't that where they have a thing there?
Yeah.
A race or something.
I don't know.
No, that's not.
Is this Kevin?
Kevin H.
Kevin, this is Cameron Johnson with CJRaceCars.
How are you?
Good.
We're picking one random order every day for a rod or a piston out of Eagle, and we've
picked your order for Saturday.
You want a rod or a piston?
Rod.
Hey, Josh was right.
All right.
We'll do a rod.
Do you want me to sign it or leave it how it is?
All right.
Hey, we really appreciate it.
We couldn't do it without all of you for sure, and good luck in the rest of the giveaway.
You're doing a dream build or the Corvette if you win?
Yeah, it is tough.
That Corvette's really nice.
Yes.
It's really nice.
Awesome.
Yeah, and you're still in it for the dream build and the Corvette, so good luck with
that for sure.
Appreciate it.
Thank you for the support.
All right.
Thank you.
Bye.
You were right on the rod.
If we get a piston, it's going to be exactly 50-50.
I would have thought the rods would have went first.
Yeah.
It's a little smaller.
I don't know.
What do you think?
Are we getting any better?
I don't know.
That one's small.
It's small there, because if you go too tall, you hit the ... Remember?
Yeah.
You had issues with the radius thing?
Yeah.
It runs over it.
We'll give you that.
Let's do it again.
Jan.
Jan?
Jan T.
All right.
Jan T did not answer, so with three rods and four pistons left, I think we give him a
piston.
Yeah.
We got to even it out.
We'll give them a piston instead of rod.
We still have three and three left.
These are the rods and pistons from the Cletus burnout still.
The final turbo burnout.
Final turbo burnout.
The final turbo burnout may go right here.
There's six more days of these left, and then we got a pile of stuff over here still, and
there's been a bunch of random orders to get push rods, caps, rings, all kinds of stuff.
