Temu Knock-Off Klein Tools Modular Test

I picked up this inexpensive Temu socket set because it very clearly looks like it was designed to imitate Klein Tools’ modular impact sockets.

At roughly $9 for the knockoff set, they’re dramatically cheaper than buying the comparable Klein sockets individually. On the surface, that sounds like a pretty good deal.

But there’s one major problem:

They don’t actually work with the Klein Tools system.

In this video, I compare the Temu sockets directly against the genuine Klein sockets and try them with several pieces from the Klein modular lineup. Despite looking extremely similar, the Temu versions use their own connection system and aren’t interchangeable with the Klein components.

And that completely changes the value proposition.

Instead of buying inexpensive sockets that expand an existing Klein setup, you’re essentially buying into an entirely separate tool ecosystem. As far as I can tell, there isn’t much of an ecosystem to expand into either. You basically have the sockets and their holder, and outside of using the sockets directly with an impact driver, there isn’t much else you can do with them.

For me, that makes the cheaper price much less appealing.

If you already use Klein’s modular tools, I’d rather spend the extra money on the genuine sockets and know they’ll integrate with the rest of the system.
