Major traffic changes coming to East Tremont Avenue with launch of Bronx’s first busway

The Bronx is introducing its first busway on Tremont Avenue starting September 19th. Designed to speed up transit for over 39,000 daily riders, the project restricts general vehicle traffic to improve bus speeds by up to 60%. While buses and emergency vehicles maintain straight access, other drivers must exit via the next available right turn.
