But now, in what feels like a direct answer to those doubts, SpaceX has accidentally revealed a brand-new piece of hardware for the HLS version of Starship.

Recently, the SpaceX community was set abuzz by a new image: a large cylindrical metal structure with a glossy silver-and-black finish being transported on a specialized trailer beneath an "OVERSIZE LOAD" sign—a classic indication that this is not scrap metal, but a valuable aerospace component that has been carefully secured and protected.
From the rear, the structure reveals a shallow cylindrical ring with a wide flared opening at the top, surrounded by a thick mounting flange. Around it are dozens of pipes, brackets, and mechanical fittings, making it look very much like a pressure-rated system or a critical structural connection point.
Based on the measurements I estimated from the image, this piece of hardware appears to have an inner diameter of about 2.15 meters and an overall width of roughly 2.59 meters.
Many people have speculated that it could be part of HLS Starship—specifically a ring or structural section belonging to the airlock system or the main crew hatch, the area astronauts will pass through before descending to the lunar surface.
