Video Summary
AI GeneratedAriana documents her first 24 hours in New York City, exploring iconic landmarks, diverse architecture, and the local culinary scene. From the bustle of Times Square and the artistic streets of Soho to the scenic views of Little Island, she captures the essence of the \"city that never sleeps\" through its transportation, urban density, and vibrant cultural diversity.
Hi everybody, it's Arianita La Gringa. Can you guys guess where I am? I am in New York City.
Yes, in the middle of Times Square. It's my first 24 hours and I'm going to show you guys
all around the city and what I do within the first 24 hours. I'm in the middle of Times Square and
there are so many people, but it's not too packed. I came here around two years ago and it was even
more full. I really couldn't move around, walk around, take pictures of videos like this.
So it's 9 a.m. right now. I think that's probably why it's not too packed,
but I'm sure late in the evening when it's dark out, when everyone can see the big screens a
little bit better, I think that's when it really gets packed and crowded. I'm in Times Square,
but I'm kind of hungry, so let's go on a walk and go to our first stop. Let's get some breakfast.
My first stop in New York is to Apollo Bagels. I've seen it all over the internet and I want
to try their specific bagel, the salmon one. Yes, a bagel with salmon. I don't know how good that'll
be, but let's go ahead and check it out. It's right behind me and knowing New York, I bet it's
going to have a really long line. Guys, look how long the line is, I swear. I hope it goes pretty
fast. I'm super hungry. Can I get one smoked salmon bagel, please? What kind of bagel would
you like that on? Do you guys have the cheese bagel? No, we have plain, everything, and sesame.
What do you recommend? Everything. Everything then? Yeah. Do you want anything to drink?
No, that's it. What's your name? Ariana. 16.30. Thank you. You want your receipt? No, thank you.
Thanks, you too. Guys, I just paid $16 for a bagel. Is it worth it? We'll see. Smoked salmon,
thank you. You want a bite? No, thank you. Guys, I just picked up my order after 15 minutes of
waiting and now we have to go find a table. Okay, look at this $15 bagel, guys. It looks so good,
but that's going to be for another video because next week I will be talking about
and describing different food in New York City. I just ate a bagel. It was delicious,
but now I have to go to a different place and to get there, I'm not going to walk.
I don't have a car with me. Well, I'm going to go on the subway. Did you know that real New Yorkers,
they call it the train? They don't say the subway. They just say, I'm going to hop on the train,
but for me, I'm a tourist, so I don't know better. I'll just call it the subway. So we have to go
downstairs, hop on the subway to go to Soho because it's around 30 minutes to walk there.
I'm not going to do that today, so let's go hop on the train.
And the best thing is they have AC and cool air, so let's go down.
Now we're going to an underground subway. It's below the ground. Yes. Let's go check it out.
Now I'm going to pay to get a car before entering the train. You have to pay for everything here
at New York. So let's touch the screen. Okay, so this screen says, how can I help you today?
And it only has the option to preload the Omni card. Unfortunately, I don't have a card. I'm
just using my phone right now. I use Apple Pay, and I think that's just the easiest way to do it.
Right now I'm on the subway. There's not too many people here. As you can see, it's kind of empty.
What I kind of noticed is that a lot of people here don't have cars. You live in a big city,
parking is super expensive, and their car or mode of transport is taking the train.
Every time you get on the train, you have to pay $3 per ride. I already spent $6 today,
and I'm probably going to spend around $12, $50 per day up here in New York City.
Last year, they had an unlimited seven-day pass. It was around $30, and you could go as many times
as you wanted to. But now I have to pay $3 per ride, so it's a win-lose situation.
Now we are exiting the station, heading up the stairs. Oh, fresh daylight. Love it.
We are now in Soho. It's probably one of the most popular areas in New York because it's
known for their shopping, food scenes, and I'm really excited to try some matcha.
I'm in the middle of the street in Soho, and one thing that kind of fascinates me about this area
is the architecture. Look at this beautiful building right behind me, and this is known as
cast iron architecture. These buildings used to be factories for commercial buildings,
and this architecture is really cool because it's fireproof. Look at how long the line is
to go get some matcha. I have to walk to the very back. I think I have to wait around 15 minutes,
but I think it'll be worth it. The wait time is so long, it's around 15 to 20 minutes,
that they're offering umbrellas because it's super sunny out. We just made it inside the
matcha shop. Let's go ahead and see what they have. Yeah. Wow. How many grams of matcha are
in that? You're going to be using six grams of matcha. I just got my first matcha in New York
City. I ordered the honey matcha latte, iced, and now I'm going to stir it. I paid around $9
for this matcha, so let's see how it is. First taste test. Wow. This is delicious. It has around
six grams of matcha. I'm very obsessed with matcha. I've been drinking it for around three
to four months now. I just got done drinking matcha, but now let's go to Washington Square
Park. I finally made it to Washington Square Park. Did you know that this park wasn't a park
before? It was actually a graveyard. It has over 22,000 bodies beneath me right now, which is kind
of crazy. Also, Washington Square Park is famous for this monument. It is so beautiful. It's a
great place to take pictures. Over here, they have a fountain behind me. A lot of people come
here to make portraits, do art, and it's a park, so people come here to read and people watch.
You might see a lot of people recording, making videos online. There's a group of guys behind me
with skateboards, and I think they're recording a little skit back there. A lot of people come
here to do lives, TikTok lives, YouTube lives, or sell art. I've noticed a lot of people come here
to people watch and also relax and enjoy themselves. You have some people playing chess
over there. Some people are playing music, reading. It's super hot, but now we're gonna exit the park
and go get some froyo, some frozen yogurt. It's so hot in New York right now. It's the middle of
summer, and I have a sweet tooth, so I want to get some frozen yogurt. We are in front of Mika's
Free Frozen Yogurt, and I feel like I've been waiting in line the whole entire day for all the
places I've been to. This is the line right here, and there still is a little bit of a line to order,
so let's get some frozen yogurt. Right now, I'm trying a quick sample of free yogurt.
This is simple. Here they have their coffees. It has olive oil. That's interesting. I don't
know if I would recommend that on frozen yogurt. Chocolate crumbles, pecans,
fig, granola, and they have some fresh strawberries you can put on top. I just ordered my froyo. It
looks so delicious. If you want to hear more about my adventures with food in New York City,
go ahead and watch my next video. Our next stop is Chelsea Market. Let's go inside.
For me, it's kind of dark when I walk inside, but that's because it's a marketplace where you
basically have different shops, stores. For example, look at this ice cream gelato place.
Wow. Let's see what they sell. Some cheesecake. Whoa, real free gelato. That looks so good.
They have some popsicles, some gelato. As you can see, a lot of people are ordering
and eating some dessert. Let's keep on walking because this is Chelsea Market. This is a place
where a lot of people come here just to eat. When I think of a market, I think of an outdoor flea
market where they sell not really junk, but stuff that is cheap and not too expensive. They have a
restaurant here, a ceviche restaurant, gelato. It's kind of fancy. I'm here at Chelsea Market
today because I want to try their famous tacos here at this restaurant called Tacos Numero Uno.
Of course, look at this long line. Wow. This is where they sell tacos. Here's the menu.
They have the menu both in Spanish and in English. They have grilled steak, grilled chicken,
marinated pork. Look at how many people are working here. It's hot. Now I have to walk all
the way to the back of the line because I'm hungry and I do want to order my food. I think
it'll take around 15 minutes. This sign says, yes, you can drink while in line, order a beer.
That's because I think they know that this place always has a long line. Hi. Can I get two
carne asadas and two al pastor? That's it.
Do I go over there now? Okay. Thank you. I just paid $25 for four tacos. I got
two grilled steak and two tacos al pastor. Now we have to wait in line because they're going to ask
if I want everything included. Of course, I love to eat, so I'm going to have everything on top.
Not only is there a line to order, but there's a line to see what you want on your taco. For example,
do you want a corn tortilla or flour tortilla? Then do you want everything on top? That's what
I'm waiting in line for right now. Hi. Thank you. Corn. Yeah. With everything. Yeah. And spicy.
I basically just said you add more meat and also to make it spicier. I like spicy.
So here we have it. Four tacos, two al pastor and two grilled steak. That looks so good. Let's see
what's on top. They have some cilantro, pineapple, that green sauce. It looks really good. And al
pastor. And then here we have some grilled steak, onion, cilantro, and some more green sauce.
Bon appetit. I just made it to the last place and it's called Little Island. This is brand new.
It's kind of like a small pier and they have a bridge over there. So let's go ahead and check
it out. This is my third time in New York City. And it's actually the first time I've been to
Little Island. It's relatively new. It's a tourist attraction. And I'm excited to see what they have.
It looks like they have a park over there. And sometimes they do have some concerts. Even though
this is my third time here in New York City, I feel like there's always something new to see.
Everything I did today was for the first time. I've never been to the cafe, the matcha cafe.
I've never tried the froyo. It was my second time trying the tacos because I loved it.
To me, New York City really is one of the best cities in the world. There's so many diverse
people here, different cultures, different types of food you can eat. But the one thing that
everyone has in common is that most people speak English. So I think that's the beauty of it. Even
though people speak different languages here and share different cultures, I really like that the
only way to really connect with people is to speak English and to understand their culture.
It looks like here you can scan this QR code and do an audio tour. I'm not going to do that today,
but let's go ahead and see what they have here. It's called Little Island because it's an
artificial island and it's tiny. Look at this beautiful view of the skyline.
Wow. It takes my breath away, I swear. So, so beautiful. Over there we have New Jersey
and then you can see Manhattan over there. Wow. It's so breathtaking. I love it. The best time
to come here, I think, is during the sunset or maybe during the sunrise. Oh my gosh, it's so
dark out. Right now it's around 9 p.m. and I stopped by this place called Nail Spa 49. I did
want to get my nails done before my trip, but I had to get it here in New York City and let me know
how they look. I got a gel manicure and I know this video is going to be quite long, but look,
it's a 24-hour video. So it's not done yet. Now we're going to get either some hamburgers
or some pizza here in Soho. I don't know if you guys know this, but this is called the
It's basically open 24-7 and you will see people all around walking, biking, even in the middle of
the night. Like right now it's 9 p.m. I mean, come on. Normally in Cincinnati, Ohio, people wouldn't
be out and about. They would probably be sleeping by now. It's a regular Wednesday night and people
are just walking around. So let's go ahead and find a place to eat because I am super hungry.
This is the first gas station I've seen in the city. I feel like when I think of gas stations,
I think of gas stations outside. We are still in Soho right now, but I wanted to talk a little
bit about how different parts of the city are. For example, the boroughs, Queens, the Bronx,
Manhattan, a lot of these areas have different cultural things around them. Like the people
there, they have different architecture. For example, Soho, when we went there, they had a
lot of the cast iron buildings because they had a lot of factories back then. But these factories
are now apartments. And you can even see how people dress is totally different based on where
they live. Also, I wanted to say I will be here for two weeks, so stay tuned for more videos.
Oh, wait, do you guys hear that? That's the subway right here, underground. Beneath me,
right over here, under my feet, literally right here, is the subway station. Here they have some
food trucks right on the sidewalk. Let's see what they have. Breakfast and lunch, chicken gyro,
lamb gyro, cheeseburger. It looks pretty good. I feel like these places are really good if you
need a quick bite to eat, but I want to sit down somewhere, charge my phone. That's another thing.
I feel like my battery, since I've been out the whole entire day, I haven't had any battery in
my phone. Everything's dying. I need a charger. Something really interesting that I kind of love
about New York is that they don't have many franchises. They don't have a lot of McDonald's,
Burger King. Of course, they do have these big franchises, but what I really like about it is
they have small restaurants or small cafes that are family-owned, passed down through generations.
You can see more people eating at these restaurants or small places rather than eating
at McDonald's. For example, look at this place right here, Georgie's. This does not exist in
Cincinnati, Ohio, but look how many people are sitting outside. Wednesday, 9.30 PM.
Another thing you'll always see in New York City is something under construction.
I have no idea what they're doing right here, but it's in the middle of the street
and they have it blocked off with cones. You'll see this construction everywhere,
whether it's on a nice street, a street that doesn't really have many stores. They're always
under construction. They're always doing something new. Oh, I think this makes sense.
I think they're renovating this building right here behind me. It's empty. It's a big storefront,
so maybe that's why there's a ton of construction. Another thing that's super interesting about New
York is that they have a lot of delis or small markets and not grocery stores. I am so used to
going to Kroger, Walmart, driving my car, but a lot of people don't have that accessibility,
so they go to this mini market. Basically, it's like a mini grocery store, but they also sell
some salads. This part reminds me of a gas station. You can basically find anything you
need for your apartment. Here, we have some laundry detergent, dish soap. Over here, we have some pet
food, some tomato sauce for pasta. Right next to the deli or the mini market, they have a fancy
restaurant. Everywhere you go in New York, you can go to a mini market, a fancy restaurant,
a nail salon, and everything is next door to each other. You can get your nails done before dinner,
and then after dinner, get some groceries. Basically, you can walk anywhere and go on
the subway and run all your errands all in one day. I just made it to a burger place. We're
going to go get some burgers. The majority of the places that I've seen on TikTok or on Instagram,
I've been reading a lot of reviews. The places I've been to today were because of those reviews.
All of them were pretty good. I'm going to trust the review of this restaurant right here.
It's actually not a restaurant. It's a fast food joint called 7th Street Burger. I heard it's Bad
Bunny's favorite burger spot. Let's go ahead and try a burger. Can I get a double cheeseburger,
please? Everything on there? Yes, everything. Any fries, any drinks with that? What kind of
fries do you have? The regular or the cheeseburger? Let's just do regular. Any drinks,
any sauce on the side? That's it. That's it? It's a double cheeseburger with everything
at the regular price? Yes. What's your name? Ariana. I just ordered my double cheeseburger
from Bad Bunny's favorite burger place. I'm going to show you guys the burger,
but to describe it in detail, I will show you that in the next video. Go ahead and wait for
that video. I'll upload that next week. I did a lot of walking today. I'm super tired. I think I
walked 15 miles. I might need to get some new gym shoes. Anyways, I hope you guys like this video.
Let me know down below your favorite part of the video. Go ahead and give me a like,
subscribe, and I'll see you guys next week. Bye.
