Over the past six months, Russia has dropped more than 10,000 FAB aerial bombs on the Ukrainian-controlled part of Donbas. The Russian offensive in the region continues along three main axes: east of Kramatorsk, south of Druzhkovka, and northwest of Pokrovsk. Military observer Clément Molin writes about this .
The majority of Russian forces and weapons are concentrated in Donbas, where they are confronted by the 1st and 3rd Ukrainian Army Corps. The possibility of encircling the region still appears unlikely following the successful Ukrainian counterattack near Liman. Russia's strategy is to slowly advance from the south and east to isolate and enter the region's last remaining Ukrainian-controlled cities. Russian troops are experiencing significant difficulties in attempting to break through the belt of fortified cities that currently stretches from Druzhkovka to Liman. The area between Druzhkivka and Dobropillya has recently become a focus of Russian forces' attention. It has seen a large number of airstrikes and numerous infiltration attempts, often reaching deep behind the front lines. Earlier this year, I assessed a possible Russian plan, and now those assumptions have been confirmed. Russia is concentrating its forces in Dobropillya and east of the city, advancing in Kostiantynivka and east of Mykolaivka, and continuing its attempts to penetrate Liman. The situation in the Druzhkovka area remains unchanged from a few days ago: Russian troops continue to attempt infiltration, as they did last year. The situation in the 1st Azov Corps' area of responsibility remains very tense. However, the same cannot be said of the 3rd Army Corps, which managed to cut off the Russian salient north of Liman and clear the city.
For many years, the Russians have failed to achieve a single operational success in the Donetsk region , Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Pavel Palisa reported on Facebook . In particular, Palisa noted that Russia has already postponed the deadline for reaching the borders of the Donetsk region 15 times.

According to him, Russia has now set a new deadline. "Russia's political leadership is seeking to seize Donbas by the end of 2026, while the military is asking for the deadline to be pushed back to March 31, 2027," Palisa wrote.

He added that on Sunday, September 6, Ukrainian military personnel discussed in detail the enemy's plans and the reasons why they have remained on paper for years with US Presidential Envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.

"For the advances the Russians are making on the front, they are paying a high price – hundreds of killed and wounded soldiers per square kilometer," stated the Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine.

He said that Russia's air attacks on Ukraine were discussed separately: "The new challenge is jet drones. And here again, the Russians haven't made a single technological breakthrough of their own: neither the design nor the engine are their own inventions. They didn't develop anything – they took what was already there from those who handed it over to them. And we know exactly who that was."

Palisa noted that the interceptors are already operational, decisions will be made, and Ukrainian cities will be protected.
