Welcome back. Oh, look, it's Wednesday.
Come on, pick your produce.
Market Wednesday.
Truffle mushroom.
Think about it.
Brooke, I'm going to pick something that's, like, out of season, right?
I would like a peach right now.
Okay.
It's the last time to get a peach.
Is this it?
Yeah, this is it.
How about a persimmon?
Ooh, that's so classy.
Are you going to eat that?
Yeah, I love persimmons.
Oh, I don't think I've ever had one.
Pumpkin for you, Amanda.
Oh, my gosh.
For me, that's a big step for you.
I know.
A jack-o'-lantern.
Wow.
You like Halloween.
I do.
Love.
I should get with my blueberries.
Halloween's around the corner.
Yeah, you know.
Not really.
You know what's around the corner?
The end of the year, believe it or not.
So, if 2026 New Year's resolutions are a distant memory, don't worry.
You don't have to wait until January to restart all over again, because September is self-improvement
month, and with nearly four months left in the year, there's still plenty of time to
change course.
Okay.
A mid-year reset can be as simple as looking at the routines that aren't working for you,
stepping outside your comfort zone, try something new, and here are some simple ways to reset
and finish the year strong as a creator of Break Out of Your Box Transformation Experience,
Clint Arthur.
Welcome.
Hey, great to be back.
And he brought his gift.
He's kept pulling truffle oil out of his pocket.
Like Mary Poppins.
Is that truffle oil in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?
I got another one.
I need this, because I feel like New Year's Day was just yesterday.
I do feel like we just got started.
Why is it going so much faster?
Because you're getting older.
Well, I was a taxi driver in Los Angeles for six years, including New Year's Eve of the
Millennium, when I made 513 bucks driving people to parties.
The problem with New Year's resolutions is that being a taxi driver in the holidays is
the best, because everybody's got so much to do and so many places to go, and you make
a lot of money, but it's the wrong time to try to change your life, because there's no
time for you.
Now, my great mentor is Oprah Winfrey, and I said, Oprah, what's the most important thing
you ever learned?
She said, you are responsible for your own success, and if you want to be successful,
you have to make time for you, and you can't do that during the holidays.
You've got to do it now.
Right.
Now, like in September?
Yeah, mid-year reset is where it's at.
Was that a conversation that really happened?
That really happened.
Wow.
I know.
How do you do that?
So you make resolutions now, or how do you reset?
Like, what do you do?
Okay, well, there are a lot of ways to do it, but the most important thing is to get
out of your comfort zone.
When I was on the Today Show, Brooke Shields interviewed me, and she said, Clayton, you
talk a lot about being comfortable outside of your comfort zone.
Yeah.
And I said, life begins where your comfort zone ends.
And she said, wow, that sounds scary.
And I said, when it's scary is when it's great.
And then I got an email from a charity.
They said, if you donate enough money for us to buy a new car, we'll hook you up with
super VIP passes to the Rolling Stones concert.
And I showed it to my wife.
She goes, wow, that would be amazing, but that's so much money.
It's crazy.
I said, you're right.
And then I pressed the button, and she goes, you did not give away all that money.
So, when people are getting angry at you, or when you think something is crazy, that's
how you know you're getting close to a barrier out of your comfort zone, and that's how you
change your life, is by getting out of your comfort zone.
Well, how did that work out?
Just kidding.
How did it work out?
Tell me how that worked out.
It was amazing.
You went to the Rolling Stones.
I went, I said to Mick Jagger, I said, Sir Mick, what's the most important thing you
ever learned?
He goes, you can't always get what you want, but if you try, sometimes it's hard to get
what you need.
Wait, did you go here to SoFi?
No, it was in Arnhem, Netherlands.
Oh, wow.
Yeah.
Wait, so you had to like fly out too?
I had to fly all the way there.
Your wife came around on the money that you spent?
Oh, we had an amazing time there.
Yeah, okay, okay.
That was the most I ever spent on a concert, by the way, was Rolling Stones tickets, because
I thought, they'll never go on tour, this is going to be their last tour, I'm going
to be there, I'm going to get good seats.
They're never going to die.
But then they went on tour again.
Yeah.
Well, that was the most money I ever spent, and I promise you, I spent more than you to
go to that concert.
Oh, I believe it.
You went to the concert, and you helped an organization.
Yeah.
True.
I'm assuming it meant a lot to you.
Yeah, well, it meant a lot to them, that's why they picked it, and if it made them happy,
I was happy.
But, like, you know, the thing is that people think they know what they want, you think
you know what you want, but if you knew what you wanted, you'd already have it.
True.
So, if you get what you need, a lot of times that's better, because that's really what
you need.
Right, okay.
So, what you want may not...
Honestly, I need to write this down and follow along.
Right, we need to take notes, but what you want may not be what you need.
Wait, wait, wait.
You don't know what you want.
That's right.
You don't know what you want.
If you knew what you wanted, you would have it.
Right.
Okay, wow.
I just, I always say men don't know what they want.
Men don't know what they like.
I always say that, but I just...
Oh, no, no, no.
I know exactly what you want.
Oh!
I have everything that I want.
I always say...
Because, listen, you'll meet, like, a girl who does this, something that men don't like,
and they like it.
Well, that's a whole other thing.
Yeah, that's a whole other thing.
Okay, well, how do you know that you're stuck in a rut?
How do you know now is the time to reset, and you need a reset?
Well, I said to my wife 15 years ago,
Honey, last night at the meeting, they said they're going to pick a new leader of the team.
And I want to step up for the leadership, but I'm afraid if I do become the leader,
I'll mess it up and get fired, and it'll become a bad mark on my life instead of a good thing.
Okay.
And she goes, Well, you know what Tony Robbins says.
If you're afraid, you must.
And that was a little mindset shift that I made that enabled me to step up for leadership,
and that changed my life.
There was my life before being a leader and my life after being a leader.
Listen, I need those people that have these great lines to come into my house and rip me off the couch.
I'm here right now.
Okay, so this is what I need.
I'm in your house right now.
You are right.
So I get home, right?
Yeah.
We get home from work.
Let's just say we've got two hours before you have to be mom, cook, you know, all the things that we have to do.
I have two hours.
I have a to-do list that's a CVS receipt long.
Where do I start?
That's a great question.
I just got a message from somebody in England, and she's like, You know, Clint, I would love to do it,
but I think I'll be better next year to do it.
And I laughed, and I'm like, I'm going to talk about this on Fox LA,
because you should have learned from COVID that there may not be a next year.
Okay.
You need to do things now.
One of my best strengths and technologies is I just do everything in the moment.
I just do it now.
If I'm not going to do it now, I'm not going to do it.
Get what you can get while you can get it, because you may not be able to get it later.
I feel like I should put that on a Post-it.
You're like those, you know, Hobby Lobby, live, laugh, love.
But you're like all of that, yeah, like in a human being.
Thank you.
You and your wife.
Your wife is in it, too.
You've mentioned it a couple times.
Did you guys just talk to each other in inspirational, like, sayings?
She's the best.
We wake up in the middle of the night, and we have ideas.
I have ideas.
I say, what do you think about that?
She's like, you know what Mick Jagger says.
I have ideas, you know.
And she always likes my ideas.
Not always.
Sometimes she'll tell me.
But she likes to listen.
She's an amazing listener and an amazing sounding board.
She's worked with some of the top directors in the world.
Francis Ford Coppola, James Cameron, Steven Spielberg.
James Cameron, Avatar.
We just talked about Avatar yesterday.
This is what I do.
I seize the moment with Sandra.
She did Terminator 2 with James Cameron.
Wow, your wife.
She created all the visual effects.
Oh, my goodness.
She's got vision, literally.
We're not impressed.
Just kidding.
Okay, what's your secret to a lasting marriage with two people that have a lot of vision?
Get out of the comfort zone.
That is definitely part of it.
I mean, living outside of your comfort zone is the key to everything.
I try to do what I learn from my favorite people like Martha Stewart.
I said, Martha, what was the most important thing you ever learned?
She said, when I was a little girl, my daddy told me that I could do anything.
And I believed him.
And you can do anything.
That's a recurring theme that I've heard from a lot of major celebrities.
I mean, one of the people I love the most is General Russell Honore.
Love him.
You know him?
From Baton Rouge, yes.
My man.
He saved the city during Hurricane Katrina.
He spoke at my Leadership Speakers Academy at West Point.
And he said, all the opportunities are on the other side of impossible.
People think that things are impossible.
But impossible is just a barrier to entry that they set up for the losers.
There's nothing that's impossible.
We don't want to be a loser either.
If we could just squeeze it down a bit.
Because we learned the word overstimulated a few years and I never looked back.
So I know there are people at home that are like, okay, it's a lot of...
So if you could just pin it down to just one starting point for people who just feel overwhelmed.
They need a reset.
They want to achieve some goals.
Where do they start?
What could they do?
Just one thing.
You have to start somewhere, right?
I asked George H.W. Bush what is the most important thing he ever learned.
He said, you must keep doing the things you love in life.
And if you want to do more, better, have a better time, do the things you love.
So just give yourself a break.
But I love watching TV and taking naps.
You work in TV.
So that's cool.
I was just about to say, that's actually not bad.
That's your job.
You need to nap to be a better you.
By the time your husband gets home, if you're crabby because you're exhausted, everybody in the house is having a bad time.
You got to do that.
And one more thing.
I asked Snoop.
Snoop, what's the most important thing you ever learned?
He said, life's too short to smoke cheap weed.
Now, I quit smoking weed by accident in 2009.
What is going on?
What do you mean by accident?
It was an accident.
And then the day after I was on the Today Show with Brooke Shields, I stopped drinking alcohol.
So I've been clean and sober, stone cold, for going on 13 years.
Congratulations.
Thank you.
That is good.
I need you to write down what coffee you drink in the morning.
But I still believe in the philosophy of Snoop.
Life is too short to smoke cheap weed or drink cheap wine or do anything cheap.
You need to not be cheap because when you're being cheap, you're being cheap with yourself.
Now you're speaking my language.
And that undercuts your feeling of deserving.
That's right.
Can you look at the men out there, the single men out there and tell them that?
If you really want to be making it happen in this year, now, be generous with yourself.
I'm motivated now.
So that you feel like you deserve it.
I feel like I've been doing this.
I like it.
Wait.
I've got to give her her flowers because I feel like you are very well-rounded.
Oh, my God.
No, seriously.
She does not drink cheap wine.
That's one.
She does something that I am aspiring to where she does not do social media on the weekends
because what she loves most is her family.
And she prioritizes that.
And my mental health.
And her mental health.
It's hard.
Right.
It's hard.
It was hard to like.
That's doing something.
And you've done it.
Thank you.
Yeah, it was hard at first.
It was challenging.
It's an addiction.
But you look forward to it a little bit now.
I do because I feel like it's a cleanse for my soul.
So, come Monday, even though I feel like what happened in the world, I've missed out.
And then I realized I really didn't miss out on anything.
I just kind of reset, actually.
But you make time for friends.
You make time for your husband, your kids, your 87 family members that live within a
five-mile radius.
You know, also, not too much on cheap wine.
A box of Franzia.
Okay.
That's the only cheap wine that's okay.
I'd go back to it if, you know.
But not two-buck Chuck.
Franzia, I'll take.
I spend too much money on clothes to be strict about the price of anything else.
You deserve it, girl.
Yes.
That's true.
Clothes, wine.
What's your thing that you don't look at the price tag for?
I don't know.
Uh-oh.
I think we hit something right here.
What's something that you're like, I don't care what it is.
I want it.
Well, it's more like my time, right?
Any time of the day.
Like, I want to go out.
Go get some friends.
Experience it.
She indulges herself with her own time.
Give us something.
One thing.
A gym membership.
She's like, my time.
Give us something.
I'm serious.
You need to spend more money on yourself.
Spending money on you.
Spending money on you makes you feel like you deserve it.
That's right.
So, is there time to reset before 2027?
Oh, the time is now.
He's like, no.
When you have time.
Before the holidays.
Before.
I've done the New Year's resolutions.
Yeah.
New Year's resolutions are cool.
But a mid-year reset is much cooler.
Because there's time for you.
Okay.
And that's what it's all about.
Because you are responsible for your own success.
Oh, my gosh.
And you must make it happen.
With the Rolling Stones.
And this is all real stuff.
I told you.
You can tell us something everybody has said.
Clint, I got to tell you.
I am not sure how much more ready I am for a reset now than before.
But I enjoyed you.
Oh, thank you.
Yeah, man.
Like, oh, my goodness.
What just a bright spot you are.
Thank you.
Well, this is my fourth time on this show over many years.
And I'd love to come back any time you want me to.
I'm like, oh, my goodness.
I'm motivated now, though.
You're joyful.
Only if you have a whole new set of names to draw.
Right, right.
I have plenty more names.
I have a whole giant book of names that I've got.
I like that he brought the pictures.
The receipts.
He's got the receipts.
Or you guys should come to break out of your box in Mexico City.
I'd love to have you guys.
Okay.
Really.
All right.
He's going to go on another show and say, you know what Amanda Sallis said?
Yeah.
Well, Clint, thank you so much.
And, of course, we want to tell everyone you can find more of his tips on his website,
eliteoffsite.com.
Yes.
For all of those.
Motivational.
Mexico City, here we come.
Yeah.
Right.
We'll have a great time.
Thank you.
Thank you so much.
That was awesome, Clint.
Thank you.
And you wore pink because on Wednesdays they wear pink.
Did you know that?
I wear pink all the time.
Oh, wow.
Yeah.
Look at his phone case.
Yeah.
